Eisenmann Sport Exhaust System for the BMW 1-Series M Coupe

Eisenmann now offers a complete sport exhaust system with 4-pipe end for the BMW 1M coupe – E82. The tuning company crafts the entire exhaust system for the BMW by hand.

The new sport exhaust system offers optimized flow characteristics, sporty sound and of course, more power. A comparison measurement with the original exhaust system demonstrated a performance increase by 10PS (7 kW).

The entire exhaust system includes of a middle silencer and rear muffler. It is made of high-quality stainless steel for which Eisenmann guarantees the best quality.

The exhaust system’s world premiere will be celebrated at the IAA (International Motor Show) in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 15th to 25th, 2011.

However, the complete system is immediately available to buy. The middle silencer is available from Eisenmann with EC approval for 535.50 EURO, including VAT. The rear muffler with four tailpipes in a diameter of 83 millimetres costs 1309 Euro.

2012 Scion iQ

Toyota USA has introduced the new 2012 Scion iQ, which boasts 11 Airbags and Star Safety SystemTM, Bluetooth and HD RadioTM Technology as standard.

“Scion prides itself on being an innovative brand with a lineup of iconic vehicles that set automotive trends,” commented Jack Hollis, vice president of Scion.

“The iQ is the fourth vehicle in the family, and it will define the premium micro-subcompact segment as the choice for new urbanites who want clever transportation without a sacrifice in style or new features.”, he added.

The car is practically a rebadged Toyota iQ. It also comes with a 1.3 liter VVT-i, four-cylinder engine with 95PS (70 kW) and 121 Nm (89 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that helps deliver smooth acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency. The iQ is rated an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) and achieves an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 37 mpg.

2012 Scion iQ is priced at $15 265. It is covered by a 3-year/36 000-mile comprehensive warranty and a 5-year/60 000-mile powertrain warranty.

A New 5.5 liter V8 engine – made by AMG

Mercedes-AMG has developed a new 5.5-litre V8 engine, which will first be introduced in the upcoming 2012 SLK 55 AMG. Thanks to a fuel saving of around 30% compared to the existing AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine, the naturally aspirated, high-revving eight-cylinder demonstrates the great innovative strength of AMG.

The engine is based on the M157 unit, which is a 5.5 liter twin-trubo V8, which was introduced by the company, last year.

The new M152 boasts 422PS (310 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque.

The fuel consumption of 8.5 litres per 100 kilometres – combined cycle is 3.5 litres less than that of the preceding model. This is thanks to a cylinder shut-off system that can reduce the V8 to a four-cylinder which has just 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque.

“Top performer for fuel economy and maximum output: with the new 310 kW (422 hp) AMG 5.5-litre V8 engine we have once again created a real masterpiece. The M152 sets an outstanding example for efficiency, while demonstrating the creativity and expertise of our engineers, who took their inspiration from Formula 1 when developing the cylinder shut-off system. This makes the new, naturally aspirated eight-cylinder the perfect power unit for the new SLK 55 AMG, which will celebrate its premiere at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt/Main in the autumn,” commented Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

“Thanks to the innovative AMG Cylinder Management system and other high-tech components, our newly developed AMG M152 naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine achieves the fuel economy of a four-cylinder with the muscular power delivery and emotional sound experience of a V8. A sports car engine with technology taken from Formula 1 – I am convinced that the new SLK 55 AMG will meet the high expectations of all sports car fans,” said Friedrich Eichler, head of powertrain development at Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Prior Design has announced the special styling package for the Mercedes-Benz SL R230.

The aerodynamic package includes: a new front bumper, modified rear bumper, new front fenders, modified front bonnet, a pair of side skirts, rear widenings, a rear diffusor, rear trunk spoiler, front lip spoiler and replacement windshield water tank.

All parts are tested and approved and the result is really amazing.

The tuning company didn’t release any information about performance packages, but the new turbocharged engines of Mercedes are just perfect for additional upgrades.

McLaren’s First Showroom in Germany

McLaren is going to open its first two showrooms in Germany, today. McLaren Dusseldorf and McLaren Hamburg are scheduled to open their doors in time for the 2011 Formula 1™ German Grand Prix which will take place at the Nurburgring this coming weekend.

The new MP4-12C high-performance sports car will be offered as well as a wide range of services. Every showroom will exhibit a piece of history to highlight McLaren’s rich heritage with each McLaren showroom displaying a real McLaren race car, driven by some of the finest racing drivers in the world.

McLaren Dusseldorf will exhibit MP4/5 which took Alain Prost to a world championship title in 1989 and Hamburg’s showroom will have MP4/6, the car in which Ayrton Senna won his third, and last championship title, in 1991.

Two more showrooms are planned for this autumn – in Frankfurt and Munich.

MTM Audi A1 Nardo Edition

MTM has announced the new brutal Audi A1 Nardo Edition. The car is specially designed to set top speed records.MTM Audi A1 Nardo Edition is boosted to whopping 500PS (368 kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, which send all power to the LSD at the front wheels. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 324 km/h (201 mph).

The tuned A1 didn’t use any aerodynamics modifications, except wheel covers. Still, it went over the 200 mph barrier.

A lot of tuning companies test their vehicle’s Vmax at the annual Nardo Highspeed meeting. This year the participants included a 9ff Porsche 911 GT3, MKB McLaren SLR, G-Power BMW M3, SpeedArt Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the MTM Audi A1.

Seat Leon 1.2 TSI S Copa Price – £13 995

Seat has announced the brand’s dynamic new Leon 1.2 TSI S Copa model, which is already available for just £13 995.

The car comes with rich standard equipment like – 16” alloy wheels, dual zone climate control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a multi-function steering wheel and cruise control.

It is available with a new 1.2-litre TSI 105 PS turbocharged petrol or the Spaniards’ super-frugal 1.6-litre TDI common rail 105 PS turbodiesel.

Copa is a new trim level launched earlier this year, which offer better value for money. It is currently available for the stylish Ibiza supermini and sporty Leon family hatchback.

Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am

Ferrari has announced the new 458 Italia Grand Am race car, which is even more fast and brutal version than the magnificent road model. The car has been developed in conjunction with Michelotto Automobili, based on the GT3 version of the V8 Ferrari berlinetta, with the aim of racing in the famous North American series.

The car meets also safety and performance regulations, so it features the same 4.5 liter hi-revving V8 engine, but with 500PS (368 kW). The reducing of power is because of the 48 mm restrictor and maximum revs are 8000.

Still, the car is much faster, because it features a roll bar, high performance braking system, a Continental tires, widened tracks and massive rear wing. The ABS and traction control have been removed.

On its shakedown today, it completed a good number of trouble-free laps, 45 to be precise in the hands of Maurizio Mediani and Jaime Melo, as they took turns at the wheel.

2011 Fiat Panda 1.2 Active Price – £6 645

Fiat has announced the new Euro 5 engine range for the 2011 Panda. It includes 1.2-litre Euro 5 petrol fitted on – Panda 1.2 Active, 1.2 MyLife, 1.2 Dynamic and the diesel 1.3 MultiJet available for Dynamic trim level. Both engines boast higher top speed, stronger acceleration, improved fuel consumption and lower CO₂ figures.

The 1.2-litre Euro 5 engine replaces the Panda’s previous entry-level 1.1-litre petrol unit. It develops 69BHP. 0 to 100 km/h in 13.4 s and a top speed of 162 km/h (101mph). It returns 57.6mpg on combined cycle and has a CO₂ figure of 113g/km.

The 1.3-litre MultiJet boasts slightly better performance – 13.1 s to 100 km/h and a maximum speed of 165 km/h (103mph). With a combined cycle fuel consumption figure of 67.3mpg, it gives a 109g/km CO₂ figure.

All versions are generously equipped, with even the entry-level Active offering power steering, electric front windows, body coloured bumpers and driver and passenger airbags as standard.

MyLife cars adds alloy wheels, remote central locking and 12V power socket, while Dynamic trim adds, among a long list, body coloured door mirrors and handles, roof bars, air conditioning, pearlescent paint, split folding rear seat, MP3 player and fog lights.

AMS Alpha 12 R35 GT-R: 1/4 mile World Record 9.05 at 166.66mph

The Alpha 12 performance package is now fact and it boosts the mighty Nissan GT-R to whopping 1327PS (976 kW) and 1347Nm (995 lb-ft).

The previous record with Alpha 10 was 9.33 seconds at 153mph, a now there is a new one – 9.05 at 166.66mph (267 km/h) for the Alpha 12.

Because of the brutal power, the tuned Nissan managed to get full traction only in 5^th gear, which means four-wheel spin to 4^th. Nice! Still, the car looks like it is capable to go on public roads.

So, the AMS Performance smashed their own record with the new monster drag racer. Check out the video below, where you will see a number of starts as well as dyno test of the Alpha 12.

2012 Nissan Leaf US

Nissan North America Inc. has announced a number of upgrades for the 2012 Leaf. They are based on feedback from the thousands of owners who already have driven several millions of miles in the first 100-percent electric car for the mass market.

“Many enthusiastic consumers have eagerly anticipated ordering a Nissan LEAF of their own, and now we can make zero-emissions mobility a reality in more markets,” commented Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Nissan North America.

“In response to direct feedback from Nissan LEAF owners, the features that customers want most will come standard on the 2012 Nissan LEAF – including quick charging and cold-weather features.”, he added.

2012 Nissan LEAF US is priced at $35 200 for the SV trim level, and $37 250 for the SL trim level. The monthly lease price will begin at a highly competitive $369.

2012 Nissan Leaf US:

DC Fast Charge capability standard on Nissan LEAF SL: The vast majority of MY11 consumers have opted for the DC fast charge port, which allows the vehicle to be charged at 480V – reducing charging time to under 30 minutes for charging the vehicle to 80 percent from a fully depleted state. As DC fast charge stations proliferate across the country, Nissan expects this feature to become even more popular. For 2012, fast-charging capability will be standard on the SL trim level.

Cold weather features standard on Nissan LEAF: As the Nissan LEAF rolls out to U.S. markets with colder climates, cold weather features become standard equipment on all trim levels of the Nissan LEAF. These include a battery warmer, heated steering wheel, and heated seats in both the front and rear.

Lorinser Mercedes CLS C218

Lorinser has introduced a new styling packaged for the 2011 Mercedes CLS C218. Despite, the new CLS was released back in June last year, Lorinser is new first to announce a personalization program for the car.

Lorinser Mercedes CLS C218 received a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, a pair of modified side skirts, a new rear apron, a trunk lid spoiler and a rear window spoiler. The new CLS also gets new front fenders with vents for cooling the brakes and a new sport exhaust system with quad tail pipes.

The tuner also offers two new sets of rims, available in a silver a matt black finish. The car has been lowered for better stance and handling.

No details released about performance packages, but the new turbocharged diesel and petrol engines are perfect to get ECU re-maps.
