Mercedes-Maybach reveals first details for the new 2021 S-Class sedan

Mercedes-Maybach presents its latest and most luxurious model so far. This is indeed the new S-Class that offers a neat combination of elegance, refinement and exceptional craftsmanship. Arriving in dealerships in mid-2021, the vehicle will also showcase new and advanced technologies.

Exterior design

Instantly recognizable, the new Maybach S-Class reveals some well-known features such as elegant curves and clean lines. Relying on “less is more” design concept, the vehicle instantly makes a strong visual impact with its minimalistic appearance and exclusive components. Such are the well-known front grille design that the Maybach lineup is famous for and the lower grille inserts that add a bit of sophistication and design dynamics.

For further exclusivity, the Mercedes-Maybach offers luxurious customization, including ten Maybach-exclusive two-tone paint finishes with a dividing line, all applied by hand. The vehicle can also be equipped with electronically-operated comfort rear doors that can be controlled from the driver’s seat, heated and cooled cupholders, a refrigerated compartment and custom champagne flutes and built-in holders.

Interior design

The new family member offers plenty of space and unparalleled interior luxury, with a focus on the first-class rear cabin. The 7-inch longer wheelbase, compared to predecessor models means that the new Maybach S-Class is not only more spacious but also adorned with tons of new features that enhance the overall comfort of both driver and passengers.

The vehicle comes with an advanced 12.8-inch OLED multimedia touch screen display in the central console and five screens in the front and rear rows for more infotainment flexibility. Talking about infotainment, the Maybach also features Mercedes’ dedicated MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system with advanced Voice Control functionality. The latest version of the system allows individual MBUX profiles with biometric authentication via fingerprint, voice control and facial recognition.

Drivetrain system

Geared with AIRMATIC Air Suspension and electrified V8 Biturbo power unit with Mild Hybrid Drive and 48-volt technology, the new Maybach delivers a total of 496hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. What is special about this model is the active road noise suppression and the new DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode system for choosing the right mode for any road situation and surface.

Lexus announces an exclusive wellness and travel program
Lexus team elevates the road trip experience by presenting its new “Retreats in Motion” program. It encourages participants to take a five-day and four-night driving retreat with the new 2021 Lexus IS. The participants will also have the chance to stay in the brand’s partnering chain of hotels.

Travellers will be paired with the new 2021 Lexus IS Sports Sedan at their original hotel before going on a custom route with suggested stops and wellness activities to enjoy through their journey. “Retreats in Motion” adopts the IS Sports Sedan as a vital part of the wellness experience and will promote it as a sanctuary for rest. The vehicle will also come with a mobile wellness kit to help travelers get the most out of the special journey.

The automobile manufacture has partnered with mindbodygreen, a health and wellbeing media brand in order to create custom content with some of the world’s most famous wellness experts for each particular retreat. Two Kia models are a part of a prestigious Top 10 List. Check it out!

Hyundai reveals new images of the all-new KONA N sports SUV

Hyundai Motors reveals the first images of the new KONA N without camouflage. In a series of shots, fans can enjoy the first look at the newest family member of the brand’s high-performance N lineup.

What we see in the images is an SUV with a sporty stance and muscular body structure. As it seems, for the first time, Hyundai N and Hyundai Design Centre work together on an SUV design and created a vehicle that adopts an elegant and sexy appearance with a high-performance spirit.

At the front, we see large air intakes and the design of the new lights that gives the vehicle that elegant and yet aggressive stance. Also, the grille’s lower position further enhances the character of the bumper fascia: the shape is defined by an aeronautic fuselage and extends to the sides, while, at the same time, emphasizes the aerodynamic capabilities of the vehicle. Of course, there’s the notable N logo on the upper grille that finishes the sporty appearance.

The rear, on the other side, features a large double-wing roof spoiler that not only enhanced the downforce but also contributes to the aggressive design of the vehicle. The back-end also incorporates a triangular brake light, a customary one with each N model. Speaking of the N lineup, there’s a set of exclusive N dual exhaust mufflers that give a glimpse of the model’s high-performance spirit. Just beneath the rear bumper, there’s a large diffuser which contributes to better airflow. Also, there are these neat body-coloured fenders that bring KONA N closer to the ground.

2022 Volvo XC60 receives more connectivity capabilities

Volvo Cars introduces a new range of upgrades for the XC60 lineup. The packs include the brand’s new Android-powered infotainment system with Google Apps and different services built-in. This approach makes Volvo’s best-seller even smarter than before.

This is an intuitive and advanced infotainment system that offers tons of personalization options and new connectivity possibilities, which further enhances the value of Volvo’s Digital Services package. In fact, Volvo Group is the first automobile manufacturer to team up with Google on integrating a dedicated Android infotainment system with Google Apps in a vehicle. After years of development, the fully electric XC40 Recharge became the first Volvo vehicle to incorporate the system.

Also, in terms of safety features, new XC60 comes with the brand’s Advanced Driver Assistance System, which is a modern and scalable active system of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors for enhanced safety. This suite also enables the development and incorporation of active safety features such as the detection of other drivers, automatic braking and collision avoidance. Also, the system allows for additional driver support from standstill up to highway speeds via the dedicated Pilot Assist function.

Land Rover Defender has been named Supreme Winner Women’s World Car of the Year 2021. This is the first time a Land Rover vehicle wins the prize.

2021 Defender, as any other predecessor model, offers tons of standard features, advanced drivetrain system and numerous utility features. Furthermore, this model resembles the original Defender and relies on simplicity and practicality. 2022 Ford Super Duty receives fancy upgrades. Check them out!

Ford rolls out some neat tweaks for the 2022 F-Series Super Duty lineup. With some exterior changes and hi-tech gadgets, the lineup becomes even more appealing. Let’s find out more, shall we?

Exterior upgrades

For 2022, the Super Duty comes with a stylish Lariat Sports Appearance Pack that brings new body-coloured bumpers, exterior mirrors and grille and chrome exhaust tip. Buyers also get 20-inch Ebony Black-painted wheels, body-colour and grille bars, as well as six-inch Ebony Black running boards.

Also, customers can specify their Super Duty with new finishes as the Baja Interior for Lariat, Navy Pier and Light Slate for the Limited series. There’s also a new Atlas Blue exterior colour.

New tech

The New 2022 Super Duty comes with a new landscape-oriented 12-inch central touch screen with SYNC 4 and physical controls for quick access.

The new SYNC 4 comes with more computing power and the capability to connect to smartphones without a USB cord. Occupants will be able to interact with the truck via voice and ask for points of interest or delays along the route. SYNC 4 also features a 4.2-inch central screen.

Drivetrain system

2022 Super Duty is available with a massive and super powerful 7.3-litre V8 that generates an astonishing 430hp and 475lb-ft of torque. Buyers can also specify their vehicle with a 6.7-litre Power Stroke diesel V8 unit that delivers 1,050lb-ft of torque and best-in-class 475hp.

Other features

Super Duty is available with a variety of standard and optional Co-Pilot360 features that assist the driver in different road situations. There’s also Hill Start Assist that is now standard on all Super Duty trim levels. Lane-Keeping Alert is optionally available on XL and XLT and part of the standard equipment for all upper models. Also, the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking is standard on XLT and above trims and alerts the driver for possible collisions with other vehicles.

Buyers can also include Blind Pot Information system with Trailer Coverage monitors. Pro-Trailer Backup Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Adaptive Steering and a 360-Degree camera are also available.

SsangYong reveals first information for new Rexton

SsangYong Motors UK proudly announces the new Rexton model. This is a facelift model and boasts a new look and tons of new gadgets. Along with the revised exterior, we get a new stylish interior design, new safety features and advanced infotainment technologies.

Drivetrain system

New Rexton comes with an updated version of a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, which develops a total of 202hp and maximum torque of 441Nm. SsangYong claims this is an efficient engine that ensures a progressive acceleration and achieves emission levels of 22WLTP and an economy of up to 32.9mpg on the combined cycle.

This engine is mated to an 8-speed FR-type automatic gearbox produced by Hyundai Transys and provides smooth shift changes and an overall pleasurable driving experience.

Safety features

New Rexton provides high levels of safety with its cutting-edge technologies. The vehicle is built on a high-strength body-on-frame construction and offers a comprehensive suite of safety systems. Along with the super-strong foundations based on a 1.5Gpa ultra-strength steel, the vehicle adopts tons of cutting-edge safety features.

Lineup

SsangYong Rexton comes in two trim levels – Ventura, which replaces the old ELX and the high-end Ultimate. Sharing the same drivetrain system, both models offer different packs and sets of features.

Rexton Ventura is available with an automatic gearbox, has seven seats and exclusive 18-inch diamond-cut alloys. This model also includes LED lamps, a 12.3-inch full digital console, dual-zone climate control, 8-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration.

The vehicle also offers power-assisted steering, a heated leather steering wheel and heated front seats. TUP faux-leather upholstery and front and rear cameras are also part of the equipment.

Rexton Ultimate, on the other hand, also comes with everything Ventura offers but adds TomTom navigation, interior mood lighting, stainless steel door finishes, rear-view camera with 3D 360 monitoring system, Lane Change Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Warning, Premium Leather Upholstery, Heated and Ventilated Power Seats and Smart Electronic tailgate.

Hyundai reveals more info about the new 2022 Tucson lineup

Hyundai has revealed further information and details for its all-new 2022 Tucson SUV. The new family member adopts the brand’s new Sensuous Sportiness design approach and features tons of neat goodies and advanced technologies.

First of all, the new Tucson offers an extended list of standard features. Such include smartphone incorporation via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, Pedestrian Detection with Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Following Assist, LED headlights and daytime running lights, High Beam Assist, Downhill Brake Control and Trailer Sway control systems. Also, the standard display is now larger and the HD radio is now a part of the standard equipment.

In terms of the drivetrain system, the new Tucson is geared with a more powerful 2.5-litre power unit mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle’s towing capacity is also enhanced from 1,500lbs. to 2,000lbs. Also for 2022, Tucson adds an eco-friendly hybrid model that offers a neat balance between smooth and pleasurable driving experience and performance capabilities. All 2022 hybrid models come with HTRAC AWD capability and selectable driving modes.

Hyundai team also developed an N Line version of the Tucson, which offers a more aggressive exterior and interior design and blends the dynamic looks with some motorsport-inspired visuals and performance rates.

Porsche teams chooses Multimatic for damper technology. Details here

Multimatic has been the choice of Porsche to supply the spec damper for the new 2021 Porsche 992-based, 911 GT3 Cup Car. The Mulimatic DSSVTM dampers are widely used in the motorsport world, including in numerous 2021 Formula 1TM models.

The dampers have been the choice of ambitious teams across the wide spectrum of different race categories for 20 years. From Formula 1 and Formula E to the high-end GT and sportscar racing, many of the single-seater race vehicles and even the grassroots racing.

Also, Red Bull Racing took all its Formula 1 World Championship victories using these same Multimatic dampers. The Ford GT won the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans on Multimatic DSSV and the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo which dominated Nürburgring Nordschleife and scored a new record was running on Multimatic DSSV. Even Mazda RT24-P will soon return to the Serbian Raceway where back in 2020 these same Multimatic DSSV dampers helped the vehicle to ride the bumps and achieve victory in the 12-hour race.

Now, every new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car which competes in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and many more Carrera Cups will greatly benefit from the same Multimatic technology.

As it comes to the dampers themselves, these are based on a unique technical approach and provide high-fidelity hydraulic damping by adopting precision spool valve technology. This setup allows for enhanced predictability, accuracy and repeatability. Although such vehicles are the example of high-end sedans with a business purpose, a time comes when an update is advisable. However, a thorough restyling is not always needed. Sometimes a small change can contribute to a beautiful final result. For example, changing a vehicle’s wheels.

This is where the experts from Cor.Speed shine. Providing just the right design of wheels set, they can change the looks of any vehicle dramatically with a single replacement of the previous set. For example, this particular 2018 A8 4H pre-facelift features an exclusive Cor.Speed DeVille alloys with a gunmetal matt finish. SKODA shares more info about the brand’s first-ever all-electric SUV

New SKODA Enyaq iV, the brand’s first purpose-built battery electric will be available to order on 10 March 2021. Based on VW’s modular electrification toolkit (MEB), the highly anticipated all-electric SUV will be available with two battery size variants, a new range structure and numerous new interesting design approaches.

More customization options

New Enyaq iV comes with numerous possibilities for personalization. What is new is that instead of choosing one of several trim levels, buyers will have the chance to specify the battery size they need, select interior package and then personalize the vehicle from a long list of equipment packs and exclusive components.

At the moment, the ranges consist of two models: Enyaq iV 60 Nav and Enyaq iV 80, with 63kWh and 82kWh respectively. Also, there are five design variants that buyers can choose from Loft, Lodge, Lounge, Suite and ecoSuite, all of which feature different interior and exterior design and equipment.

Design approaches

SKODA Enyaq iV measures 4,649mm in length and 1,879 in width. The vehicle ensures enough space and flexibility for tons of luggage and numerous different activities. Also, for this particular model, SKODA designers have completely restyled the interior. The traction battery which is housed in the floor and the compact motor is mounted beneath the boot floor which allows Enyaq iV to offer a cabin without the burden of the packaging issues of the internal combustion engine vehicle. Put simply, the setup ensures more interior pace and a flat floor. Also, the boot can store a total of 585-litres of luggage. This number further expands to 1,710 when the rear seats are folded.

New Enyaq iV charging options

All Enyaq iV models come with a minimum DC rapid charging capability of 50kW as a standard feature. However, customers can specify their vehicle with the higher 100kW version and the highest 125 DC charge pack.

Furthermore, Enuaq iV offers customers a total of three charging options. In addition to using the standard household 230V socket with a 2.3kW altering current (AC), the vehicle can also be charged at home (or any other place) using a wall box of a maximum of 7.2kW. By using this way, the car can be completely charged for about 10 hours and approximately 13 hours for the 82kWh battery type. The third option includes a connection between a rapid DC charging point with a charging capacity of up to 125kW.

Drivetrain and performance

The entry-level 2kWh battery model is geared with a 180ps (132kW) motor that delivers power to the rear wheels via a single-speed gearbox. This setup has a WLTP combined range of 256 miles on a single charge.

The larger 82kWh model is capable of generating a total of 204ps (150kW) and is capable of covering about 330 miles with a single charge.
