Tailor Made F-Type Roadster Released by PIECHA Design

PIECHA Design Jaguar F-Type Roadster Front View As inspiring as it might sound, the Jaguar F-Type roadster has just received some tuning modifications from the specialists at PIECHA Design. The car looks great, because it features new styling tweaks, aerodynamic components and alloys. The complete F-Type programme will be available for the 3.0-litre V6 and 5.0-litre V8 powered roadster and coupe variants.

From what we can see, the car looks wider. This is due to the side sill wings that were integrated into vehicle’s lower flanks, additionally emphasizing its sleek and wider proportions. The aerodynamically sculpted Front-Cup-Wings reduce the lift and clear the air around the nose.

Other functional equipment is the black standard rear underbody diffuser that features a couple of vertical stabilizing fins, which also eases airflow separation and reduces drag. Limited Run for Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R

Shelby GT350 marks 50 years this year and to celebrate this, Ford has announced that it will release a limited run of the GT350 and GT350R variants. The original first generation of the car was introduced in 1965 and since then has been one of the most desired cars worldwide. It is also a synonym great performance, which has been proved on many racetracks through the years. The latest edition of the model is powered by the most potent naturally aspirated engine that Ford has ever produced.

Going into details, the company announced that it will produce only 100 Shelby GT350 with the 2015 model year designation. Half of them will be equipped as a standard with the Technology Package and the other half – with the Track Package.

On the other hand, the pony car legend, which is 2015 Shelby GT350R, will be produced in 37 units. Behind this number, there is an interesting history that has happened 50 years ago. In 1965, Carroll Shelby created an FIA-homologated Mustang, which was dubbed Shelby GT350 competition model.

It competed on various track globally, showing its superpowers. Moreover, it won the Sports Car Club of America’s B Production national championship in 1965, 1966 and 1967, as well as the different races throughout South America and Europe, and the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans is just a single instance.

The car got extremely limited production run and debates are still ongoing on how much examples were produced. Despite that Shelby made two prototype cars and 35 production ones, most records show only 34 production models with official serial numbers. Ford Mustang under Speed Test. Covers 0-100kmh in 4.8 seconds [VIDEO]

Ford Mustang Side View If you think that there is nothing new about the Mustang, you are wrong. Ford has just released a video, showing how the V8 powered pony car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 4.8 seconds. This is actually record-braking, because it guarantees that the Mustang is the fastest accelerating Ford coupe ever offered in Europe.

If you wonder what will happen if the car is equipped with the 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, well, the answer is simple. It will need an additional second to cover the same sprint, but it will be also more economical and environmentally-friendly, delivering 35mpg and 179 g/km of CO2 emissions.

To go into details, Ford’s 5.0-litre V8 engine produces 435 horsepower (320 kW) and 542 Nm (400 lb.-ft.) of torque. On the other hand, the more fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine generaes 317 hp (233 kW) and 432 Nm (319 lb-ft) of torque.

Both engines are supported by a standard Performance Pack, which adds updated brakes and cooling. The new chassis and body structure, the additional advanced technology, are the other key factor, which helps in terms of optimized driving dynamic.

The famous pony car also features selectable drive modes, which are controlled via the toggle switches in the centre console. They adjust the electronic stability control, throttle response, ear-shift patterns, and steering with the help of four settings: Normal, Sport+, Track or Snow/Wet settings.

In addition, the new Mustang also uses independent front and rear suspension and double-ball-joint front MacPherson struts. In addition, body of the car is 28 per cent stiffer than the previous generation, which has also contributed for the great 0-100 km/h performance. G80 Locking Rear Differential is the New Big Thing about Chevy Trucks

G80 is the order code name of the new locking rear differential that Chevrolet trucks will be supplied with. This feature makes the most of traction for slick surfaces when the truck needs to get the job done. Despite of the weather or season, Chevy says that this automatic rear axle can help keep the truck moving ahead due to the improved confidence and control.

How does it work? The G80 automatically locks if one wheel starts to spin. This in turn makes the rear wheels e 2WD pickup can now be compared to a 4×4 one, and the 4×4 pickups can be considered eve stronger.

This also means that the G80 also delivers better traction in comparison to the limited-slip differentials. In addition, because it is an automatic feature, it does not require driver’s involvement.

If there is an excessive wheel slip for example, the flyweight-type governor immediately steps in. This is a self-energized clutch system, which makes a cam plate to ramp against a side gear. This compresses the disc pack and rotates rear axle shafts and wheels at the same velocity.

The lockup is discontinued automatically and this can even remain unnoticed by the driver. This also hints towards a smoother ride, because the G80 works as an open-type differential.

Who can get the new automatic locking rear axle? It is suitable and currently available for nearly all Silverado models, Colorado WT and LT models as an option. On the contrary, Silverado 1500, all Silverado 2500 and all 3500 HDs will get it as a standard feature on their LTZ and Z71 versions. It comes also as a standard on Colorado Z71, Tahoe and Suburban.

Hyundai Announces Specifications for Updated i40 Range

Hyundai has released more specifics about the i40 and the great news that the model will get three new trim levels: Tourer, Saloon and SE Nav, next to the S, SE and Premium trims. This will not only add refreshed vibe in the range, but will also attract new buyers. In addition, the company has applied new design approach, which benefits from giving the exterior and interior refreshed styling. There is also an upgrade in the engine and transmission range, and not to mention the improved ride and handling, safety or convenience features.

Exterior

The new i40 will be different from its predecessor with its significantly changed front grille and bumper as well as with the new shape for its front and rear lights. The entry level S trim on the Saloon will ride on 16” alloy wheels and will have automatic headlights with dusk sensor, while the SE Nav will get LED front fog lights. The top of the range Premium models will benefit from 18” alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof with electric tilt and slide.

Interior

There are even bigger changes and a lot of features on the inside. First the S trim on the Saloon will get Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, leather wrapped steering wheel that will also get audio and telephone controls.

On the other hand, those who will chose the SE Nav trim level, will benefit from standard capable touchscreen satellite navigation with rear view parking camera and parking guidance system. This trim also adds DAV radio, auto dimming rear view mirror, climate control with auto defog, heated front seats, and a seven speaker sounds system. Other options include keyless smart entry with start/stop button and driver’s seat memory function.

The advantage of purchasing a Premium level car will give one features like luggage net, super vision instrument cluster with LCD colour display and lane departure warning.

Drivetrain

Hyundai i40 can now show-off with a range of three economical Blue Drive engines: the 1.7-litre diesel pushing 115 hp (85 kW) and the 1.7-litre diesel with 141 hp (104 kW) both connected to the six speed manual transmission, or the 1.7-litre diesel mated to a seven speed DCT.

2015 Hyundai i40 is currently available to order in the United Kingdom and has a starting price of £19,600.
