Volkswagen & Beats Electronics proudly present Polo Beats with 300-watt sound capability

Volkswagen Polo Beats Special Edition front view Volkswagen has just announced the market release of the Polo Beats Special Edition. Developed within the collaboration with the audio specialist Beats Electronics, this small car is actually capable of fantastic sounds. The fresh styling cues are also a benefit. The Sound System

The unique sound system comprises of 300-watt, eight-channel amplifier featuring a digital signal processor (DSP). The latter delivers high-performance audio processing of the seven high-end loudspeakers. The speaker’s location is the following: two tweeters in the A-pillars, two woofers in the front doors, two broadband speakers in the back with a subwoofer integrated into the spare wheel well.

The Fresh Looks

Some of the exterior styling cues, which are standard for all Polos are also fitted here. These include the 16-inch ‘Knight’ alloy wheels. In terms of the interior, the Polo Beats is equipped with ‘Cortina Silver’ trim on the centre console and air vent surrounds; leatherette door panels and chrome trim; carpet mats with red stitching, and ‘Beats’ sill protectors on the doors. The seats are sporty and they feature Alcantara side bolsters and a special ‘Beats’ cloth centre section, while the seatbelts add to their design thin vertical red stripes.

Polo Beats Edition will be offered with three- or five-door configuration. Customers can also choose among three petrol units and one diesel engine (specifications are included in the table below).

Lotus commemorates 50 years since Hethel opening with Evora 400 Hethel Edition

Lotus Evora 400 Hethel Edition front view To mark the 50 years since the foundation of the famous factory in Hethel, Lotus is releasing a limited Hethel Edition model based on the Evora 400. The car will be offered within three exclusive exterior colors and three trim options, respectively. Precisely, the colors to choose from are Essex Blue, Motorsport Black, and Racing Green. When it comes to the interior, one can opt for either black or red leather or Alcantara interior trim, which is in dependency of the bodywork color.

Furthermore, every Hethel Edition 400 comes with lightweight silver forged aluminium wheels, behind which are positioned contrasting brake callipers. Car’s look is rounded out by bespoke graphics. A commemorative build plate will show the significance of the car.

In terms of performance, this limited edition car combines the strength of the high performance Lotus and its unique chassis. At just 1,395kg, the model is an example of efficient engineering. As a matter of fact, the weight is an achievement of Lotus’ Lightweight Laboratory concept.

Being 42 kg lighter than its predecessor, the limited edition Evora 400 accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds) and delivers a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). Of course, here helps the supercharged and charge-cooled, mid-mounted, 3.5-litre V6 engine, which generates 400 hp (294 kW) and 410 Nm (303 lb-ft) of torque.

Just like its siblings, the car has been hand-built; passenger space was improved, thus providing more legroom and wider rear seats. In addition, the added changes to the Evora 400 have increased the size of the door aperture, making it easier to enter the car.

Being the first in a series of special editions, Hethel Edition Evora 400 is marking the important milestone in the company’s history. What is more, the car also demonstrates how customers can personalize their vehicle through the Lotus Exclusive programme.

2007 Tundra with a run of 1million miles: even Toyota engineers are amazed!

Toyota customer Victor Sheppard was so happy with his Toyota Tundra that after he successfully drove 1 million miles, the still uses this vehicle as his main one. So, when Toyota team saw the already veteran truck, they asked: What is a Toyota Tundra with more than a million miles worth?

The million-mile Tundra is a 2007 model and was one of the first that was assembled exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas in San Antonio. Since the purchase of the vehicle, Sheppard has been the one and only owner and user and has been driving about 125,000 miles a year. He was driving long-haul trims from his home to North Dakota, Wyoming and Virginia for his job. The most exciting thing (and most pleasurable to hear by Toyota engineers) is that truck is still geared with its original engine, gearbox and even paint job.

But this is not the first time Sheppard’s truck has been made famous. Back in September 2012 it was on display at the Texas State Fair in Dallas and also has been regularly exposed on Facebook page for leBlanc Toyota. The dealership also posted its odometer, when it hit 999,999 miles.

And maybe the most interesting thing is that Toyota engineers are interested in how the drivetrain system has held up. Something more, Toyota’s chief truck engineer from Toyota Technical Center, Mike Sweers, and his fellow team want to have that better look under the hood and see how the truck holds up for so many miles and rigorous use.

As for Sheppard, his one-million truck is already replaced by a brand-new 2016 Tundra. The funniest thing is that this is also his 16th Tundra!

2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco completely revealed! Here’s all you need to know!

2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco Hyundai Motor America announced even more details for the all-new 2017 Elantra Eco, coming with efficient turbocharged powertrain, advanced safety features and cutting-edge technology gadgets. Assembled in Montgomery at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the Elantra Eco will be available for order later this month.

Chevrolet team gears the 2017 Camaro ZL1 with the almighty Hydra-Matic transmission

Probably the first to-be-geared with the Hydra-Matic system, the Camaro ZL1 will benefit from greater overall performance, wider 7.39 overall gear ratio spread, smaller steps between gears and enhanced fuel consumption efficiency.

New High Desert package makes Chevrolet Silverado more capable and attractive

Chevrolet Silverado High Desert package has been specifically introduced for those who are looking for more from the Silverado. It is available on LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels and will arrive in dealers this fall. Actually, the model is based on a concept variant, which was on display at 2014 SEMA Show. Yes, this means that it brings unique content and great capability.

In short, the High Desert pack adds improved exterior styling, new lockable cargo system and Magnetic Ride Control suspension for the High Country grade. To go in details, interesting here is the new flexible and lockable storage system in the cargo bed, which locks the cargo away safely.

Farewell: Toyota to end production of FJ Cruiser in August

Toyota FJ Heritage Unfortunately it is true that Toyota FJ Cruiser is going to end its production in August this year. So, this literally means that there will be one last chance for those wishing to buy this amazing vehicle. The retro-inspired off-roader was actually released in Australia five years ago. Since then from the model have been sold in more than 11,000 units. The real inspiration behind the FJ Cruiser is the famed FJ40: a basic, capable and affordable vehicle, which finds its perfect place off-road.

In other words, the Cruiser is aimed at serious off-roaders looking to push the limits. Well, it is also a contemporary variant of the classic FJ40. Vorsteiner Lamborghini Huracan Novara is the new trend that you need to see

This time, they have worked with the famous Lamborghini Huracan, thus making it more special and well dressed. The changes are simple and do not include any intrusions to the engine unit.

Before jumping into the details, since the Lambo did not receive any engine treatment, it has kept its stock number. Namely, the production 5.2 liter V10 unit generates 610 hp (448 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque and is linked to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission that drives the four wheels. This allows the Huracan to cover the 0-100 km/h acceleration sprint in 3.2 seconds, and the 0-200 km/h in 9.9 seconds, running after a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).

The here presented variant of the model is painted in Rosso Mars and sits on in-house made 20- and 21-inch V-FF 105 flow forged wheels. Pirelli P Zero tires are also necessary to complement the new alloys and they come in the dimensions of 245/30/20 up front and 325/25/21 at the rear.

Latest Abarth 595 impresses with abundant equipment and vastness of power

Abarth 595 front view The new line-up of Abarth 595 models is already here, two months after the release of the special 124 Spider. The car keeps the same cute appearance, steps over it and adds more with exclusive features, more powerful engines and vastness of product innovations. The 595 is compact, agile, and lightweight, and offers unique driving experience.

For the new model year it will be available as a hatchback and a convertible, within three trim level: 595, 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione; as well as three power levels. Important to be mentioned is that the innovations included in the new model have been empirically affirmed with their utilization in the 695 Biposto.

Even with the entry level model, the affordable 595 version, the customers will get all standard equipment needed to ensure fantastic driving experience. Drivetrain

The drivetrain comes as a standard with manual five-speed gearbox. The option is the Abarth robotised sequential gearbox with shift paddles.

Exterior Updates

One of the coolest updates is that the 595 Competizione could be ordered with mechanical limited-slip differential (Abarth D.A.M.), which improves traction in extreme conditions. What is more, the Abarth D.A.M. is contained as a standard within the new Performance Pack. It is only optional for the Abarth 595 Competizione with manual gearbox and comprises of 17″ Supersport rims and Sabelt leather/Alcantara seats with carbon shell, carved aluminium 595 badge and the red, white or glossy black customisation pack.

Next come the Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) shock absorbers for 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione, the new front end with oversized air intake, the more pronounced rear diffuser and new specific inserts. Polyelliptical headlight clusters and LED daylights are standard on all versions, while the xenon headlights available on request.

Abarth is also offering the new lightweight 17-inch Granturismo alloy wheels, next to the extended exterior color palette, which now includes Modena Yellow, Abarth Red, three-layer Iridato White and the Scorpione Black/Podio Blue, Scorpione Black/Record Grey and Pista Grey/Abarth Red bi-tone paint schemes.

Interior Updates

In terms of the interior updates, the Abarth 595 models benefit from extensive Alcantara and carbon fibre utilization as a standard. The optional variant is the Corsa by Sabelt leather and Alcantara®seats with carbon shell. In addition, the new sporty flat-bottom steering wheel now features viewfinder. There is also unique racing-derived instrument panel.

For the first time, Abarth is debuting the Uconnect system. It includes two 5” and 7″ HD screens, navigator and DAB digital radio as well as the powerful 480 W BeatsAudioTM Hi-Fi system with seven speakers.

The latest variants of Abarth 595 will have market launch in June.

Their latest project is based on the favorited Audi A4, equipped with the strongest engine, namely – the 3.0 TDI. As a standard it comes with 272 hp (200 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. However, the 272 number wasn’t enough for the driver of this car. So the tuners stepped in with a special three stage conversion program. What is more, there are some changes made to the handling and appearance of the A4, we should also mention. Here are the details.

The first stage pumps up the output of the V6 to 310 hp (228 kW) and 670 Nm (495 lb-ft). Stage 2 brings the numbers to 326 hp (240 kW) with 695 Nm (513 lb-ft). The final stage swells the output to the impressive 350 hp (257 kW) and 725 Nm (535 lb-ft). All three upgrade stages feature adaptation software for the eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. In addition, the factory electronic Vmax limiter was removed.

In order to achieve 365 hp (268 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque, B&B’s Stage 3 conversion can additionally use a bespoke turbocharger with modified downpipe and sports catalyst to increase system flow and reduce exhaust backpressure.

What happens against the stopwatch? Well, the results are impressive: the 0-100 km/h sprint is reduced from 5.4 sec to 4.5 sec, while the top speed goes up from 250 km/h to 275 km/h.

If one drives the S4 3.0 TFSI range flagship, equipped with the turbocharged, direct-injection V6, then the stock 354 hp (260 kW) and 500 Nm (370 lb-ft) of torque, then the stages will make it up to 450 hp (330 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft).

When it comes to output improvement, the B&B recommends adding their thermostatically-controlled oil cooling system, which will keep the engine’s life giving fluids within factory limits.
