Have you ever heard of hypercars? Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing have already revealed one!

2018 Aston Martin Red Bull Racing AM-RB 001 Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing revealed a stunning vehicle: a so-called hypercar, the AM-RB 001. The collaboration process between the British luxury brand and the F1 team combined the skills and passion of two world-leading manufacturers to deliver us a machine that we have not seen before.

Geared with a lightweight carbon fiber structure, the AM-RB 001 demonstrates a sort of radical aerodynamic solutions, incredible levels of downforce and definitely a pure racing styling. We see some notable Aston Martin shapes and curves, but this is definitely a vehicle far more distinctive that anything the British manufacturer has presented so far.

AM-RB 001 will be built by David King and his fellow teammates at Gaydon, in Aston Martin’s facility, where their original hypercar, the One-77 was built. We still don’t know much about machine’s performance, but what we know is that the engineers have brought us a vehicle with mid-mounted and high-revving V12 power unit with the capability of achieving a 1:1 power-to-engine-ratio and 1bhp per kilo of weight. Sounds good, right?

Also, in order to cope with extreme aerodynamic loading at high speeds and to deliver the on-road flexibility and comfort at the same time, AM-RB 001’s suspension will come with some special technology and will adopt the principles honed by Newey over his 3-decade career. We expect something similar to be incorporated in the transmission.

What is also expected from the alliance is that there will be between 99 and 150 road-legal units produced at total and only 25 track-only prototypes. First deliveries are scheduled for 2018.

LaFerrari Roadster or how to sell a sports car before officially revealing it

Ferrari is releasing first exclusive images of the upcoming limited special edition

You are now given the chance to witness the birth of a future legend! Ferrari has just revealed the first images of a new limited and special edition series, which is going to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September. Besides the exclusive trio of images the Italian super-car company released some specifics about the upcoming model, which is the open-top version of the LaFerrari!

Of course, as you would expect that this variant of the exclusive model is not made for ordinary people. On the contrary, it aims at clients and collectors who refuse to compromise on the joy of what Ferrari calls “al fresco driving”. As a matter of fact, the company will be making strictly limited number of the roadster and all of the available examples have already been sold. And this happens even before the first images of the model were revealed!

Anyway, what we know so far is scarce, but enough to tease our curiosity. The LaFerarri roadster will be offered with not one, but two variants for the top. The first one is a removable carbon-fibre hard top, while the second is the traditional removable soft top.

As expected, the model has the same running gear and performance figures as its “older” sibling. Precisely, it will be powered by a V12, which is coupled with a 120 kW electric motor. The total horses are estimated 963 hp, while the Newton meters reach 900! This is absolutely enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint of 2.9 seconds.

Ferrari also said that there have been significant and extensive modifications made to the chassis, so that the roadster could have the same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the coupe. In addition, the aerodynamics have been further honed ensuring that there is the same drag coefficient, despite the open-top driving.

Further details, including specifications and the real name of the open-top LaFerrari will be announced in Paris, or few days ahead of the debut there.

Cadillac further enhances the CTS & ATS lineups with Carbon Black pack

Carbon Black sport package added after 2017 CTS & ATS facelifts were introduced

After announcing the changes made to the 2017 CTS and ATS lineups, Cadillac is now introducing the Carbon Black sport package, which was created specifically for them. The Carbon Black kit gives a more athletic appearance to the models, but it also does more than just this: for the first time, the company has included the Black Chrome grille for the V-Series models. The same applies to the RECARO front seats for Cadillac ATS Sedan and Coupe.

What is more, there are more exterior colors to choose from, including the following: Black Raven, Phantom Gray Metallic, Red Obsession Tintcoat and Crystal White Tricoat. Only the ATS-V and CTS-V models can show-off with an additional hue that others in the range don’t have, namely – the Velocity Red. On the inside, all can be specified with Jet Black or Light Platinum design themes.

Let’s check out the details.

The Carbon Black pack is suitable only for the Cadillac ATS Sedan and Coupe in their Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. On the outside the added appearance for these (besides the aforementioned grille) is due to the extra black finish side window moldings, and body-colored door handles, alloys in After Midnight dark finish, the V-Series spoiler, as well as the rear fascia appliqué. The RECARO front seats aren’t the only benefit for the cabin as it also gets low-gloss carbon fiber on treatment for specific parts featured on the dash.

The package is available for the Cadillac CTS Luxury and V-Sport Premium Luxury Sedan, too. Adding the special grille as well as the After Midnight wheels and V-Series spoiler, it seems that they do not differentiate much with the first models mentioned. However, the main distinction is on the inside. Here the models aren’t specified with the RECARO seats, but instead come with upgraded performance seats. However, the RECARO ones are in the options list. The low-gloss carbon fiber interior trim is standard.

As for the ATS-V Sedan and Coupe, what they can show us in addition to everything mentioned is the Carbon Fiber package. It includes a more aggressive front splitter, hood vent trim, rear diffuser, composite rocker extension panels and a taller, body-colored rear spoiler. On the inside, the low-gloss carbon is fitted all around, and the sueded steering wheel and shifter as well as the RECARO V-Series front seats come as a standard.

At the top of all stands the Cadillac CTS-V Super Sedan. It also received the extended exterior carbon fiber treatment. However, its rear spoiler isn’t body-colored, but entirely made of exposed carbon fiber. Surprisingly, the RECARO V seats here are an option. Instead, the CTS-V Super Sedan gets the well known V-Series performance front seats. Everything else on the inside is similar to the ATS-V Sedan and Coupe.

Cadillac is going to start the production of the 2017 model year later this summer. However, authorized dealerships are now open for orders.

Top Gear continues without Chris Evans as he steps down after six shows

After the resurrection of Top Gear without the famous trio, things don’t look exactly good. Now, Evans, the TV presenter chosen to replace Clarkson, is leaving. The news took by storm the social media, but still there are many wondering about the reasons behind his resignation. Here is what we know so far.

Although Evans has a three-year contract with BBC, he steps down after only six shows. The ratings are stating that the new face of Top Gear is not likely to appeal fans. Since it has aired its first new episode this season, it faces some highly critical reviews. The figures of viewers were exponentially falling, hitting just 1.9 million people in front of the TV screen on Sunday night. And this resulted in the following tweet by Evans:

But besides this, under the cover of everything, Evans seems to have been pressed to make this choice. A newspaper claimed that the presenter is currently facing sex assault allegations. Of course, Evans has denied the rumors, but everything escalated quickly and he is now obviously leaving Top Gear.

On the contrary, BBC says that Evans’s decision to leave was his alone. Actually rumors circulate around the Internet for a week now, since he told the BBC he was stepping down with the words he “was not a good fit for the programme”. “I feel like my standing aside is the single best thing I can now do to help the cause”, Evans continued.

BBC also confirmed that the remaining five presenters – Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, Sabine Schmitz, Rory Reid, and Eddie Jordan, will return for the next series. Being the most important show for BBC, Top Gear is trying to recover after the so called “fracas” with Jeremy Clarkson and the departure of the trio. Clarkson was dropped from the series after he punched the producer Oisin Tymon, after a scandal about provision of food.

Toyota improves the 86 sports car based on victories at Nürburgring

Toyota 86 is made better through racing experience

So, this is the new old face of the popular 86 sports car. Toyota has just announced that it has made significant changes to the model, by applying the feedback from extensive racetrack experience. And this includes the data obtained from class victories at the famous 24 Hours of Nürburgring. To say it otherwise, the 86 facelift is the result of a lot of racing enjoinment for the testers, which is eventually going to bring about some pleasure to the regular owner, too.

Improved driving characteristics include better engine breathing that unleashes more power and torque, updated handling via revamped suspension and rigidity, advanced aerodynamics, steering stability and driver’s connectedness to the vehicle.

The revisions made to the engine components (including the intake and exhaust manifolds) actually result in a very pleasant uprate of power by 3.4 per cent. It is now 207 hp (152 kW) and 212Nm (156 lb-ft). By the way, the maximum torque of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder horizontally opposed engine can be generated over a 200rpm wider range of engine speeds, precisely – from 6400 to 6800rpm. In addition, the torque curve is also better at low rpms.

Aerodynamics wise, they were actually a priority for the freshened exterior. They not only contribute to enhanced road holding, but also to better turning performance. To go into details, the 86 has a lower front, which features nose fins, foglamp bezel fins and small canards. Wing-like projections beneath the wider front grille and the LED headlamps, round out the transformation up front.

“We race. We learn. You win” is the motto of the 86 facelift development.

When speaking of better performance, one always thinks of wheels and tyres. In this case, Toyota 86 rides on brand new 17-inch alloys with twisted spokes, machine-cut highlights and gun-metal paint. Moving to the rear, it now comes with an wing-type spoiler, widened bumper with trapezoidal shape and combination of LED taillights.

Toyota wouldn’t go without touching the interior a little bit. On the inside, the 86 is equipped with sportier steering wheel with 362mm diameter. This detail is actually hinting to the fact that it is the smallest ever used in a Toyota. Moreover, it has a cross-sectional shape, which contributes for an optimal grip, maneuverability and comfort.

On the revised tachometer can be viewed the 7,000rpm at the very top; and other driver aids include 4.2-inch thin-film transistor display showing important information, G-force meter and power and torque curves. At last, for those looking for a little bit of luxury in their sports car, Toyota is offering the optional black Grand Luxe high-quality suede-like material for the instrument panel and door trim.

Nissan Note Black Edition: comprehensive in style, poor in quality

2016 Nissan Note Black Edition Okay, this one caught our eye! The exterior is definitely a good one. It looks modern, sharp, and enhances the confident look of the new Black Edition. And with the Dynamic Styling Pack installed we got not only sweet body lines and curves, but also sporty body-colored new bumpers, side skirts and black bezel headlights. Of course, the new performance-focused black spoiler finishes the story of elegance and power.

You may wonder why I rushed with the exterior features in this article. I decided to start with the good sides of the car. The thing is that the body styling is the only thing that we liked about the revised Nissan Note Black Edition. Yes, we get sweet 16-inch wheels, new door handles and mirror covers, new finishes and additional components, but the car still feels mediocre in its quality and engineering. Even cheap.

The interior of the Note Black Edition has also undergone some changes. The central console is finished in glossy black, completely matching the black gear shift knob. At the same time, the black headliner contributes a bit to the contemporary look. But that is all. We see a functional cabin, but it definitely feels like it is made out of low-quality plastic. For sure this is not a premium wanna-be vehicle, but we think that the design team could have done a better job with making us feel the well-known premium Nissan ambience.

Jeep team decides to tweak some of the models. Details here!

Grand Cherokee SRT Night Jeep officially announced plans and changes for the whole Grand Cherokee SUV lineup. Also, in order to celebrate Grand Cherokee’s 75th birthday, Jeep team revealed more details for the 75th Anniversary Limited Edition vehicle. As you know, the car was first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show back in March.

At the same time, the SRT line of Grand Cherokees has also undergone some slight changes. So, let’s check out what Jeep has to offer.

The revised Grand Cherokee lineup

As we all know, this is Jeep’s premium SUV model line that shows the brand’s traditional approach in terms of power and capability, blended with some modern-age technologies, innovations and craftsmanship.

Of course, the latest model features some neat additions as Start/Stop function and electric steering that together greatly reduce the fuel consumption. In fact, the new electric steering system also offers selectable driving modes and does not draw additional power from the drivetrain. Sweet.

The exterior is definitely beautiful. We see a vehicle with a striking design, muscular stance and bold appearance. And the new Velvet Red, Redline and Ivory Tri-Coat finishes further contribute to Grand Cherokee’s neat styling.

Of course, the inside has also a lot to show. There is a new gear lever, new central console with additional buttons, warning lights and a large touch screen.

Grand Cherokee 75th Anniversary

We have told you a lot about the 75th Anniversary Editions, but we have not told you about the latest changes. And here they are. The celebration model is based on the MY16 platform and shares the same engine system: a 3.0-liter V6 MultiJet power unit, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also present is the Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system.

And yes, buyers will be granted with 75th Anniversary badging, neat 20-inch bronze-colored alloys, restyled front face, additional LED fog lamps, Safety Technology Pack with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and crash mitigation, and some exclusive exterior colors: Recon Green, Bright White, Brilliant Black and Granite.

Coming in even smaller numbers, the 30 Grand Cherokee SRT Night units will be available for purchase at the end of July.

Considered to be the fastest and most powerful Jeep created so far, the Grand Cherokee SRT shows restyled upper and lower grille mounts, B and C pillars and side windows surrounds all covered in Matte Black. Of course, we got Black Vapor 20-inch wheels in Satin Black, that also show the Brembo brake calipers.

In terms of interior styling, we see Black Laguna leather-dominated interior with black accent stitching, leather covered door armrest, and central console with some stylish black chrome components. Of course, there are numerous SRT badges that go along with Brilliant Black and Brilliant White.

In terms of performance, the SRT Night offers the titanic 468hp and 624Nm of torque via a 6.4-liter V8 power unit. All these numbers mean that the vehicle goes from 0 to 100km/h in less than 5 seconds and chases a top speed of 288km/h (160km/h).

Jeep and Garage Italia Customs honour Montreux Jazz Festival with special lineup of vehicles!

Since 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has witnessed numerous celebrities performing and since its early years the fest became one of the most anticipated events in the world. And in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Festival, Jeep, in collaboration with Garage Italia Customs (GIC) reveal the Jeep Cherokee Jazz, Jeep Renegade Vinyl and Jeep Grand Cherokee Score show cars.

Inspired by the musical instrument guitar, Garage Italia Customs used wrap-paint, a special technique that results with recreating the classic wood veneer of a guitar. Generally, the process consists two major steps: first, the vehicle is encased in a wood-texture film, then it is painted with great skill and passion. As you will see for yourself, the result is stunning: we see veiled body with black color that elegantly changes to brown. Sweet.

With a drivetrain that is based on the Limited Edition model and which offers 200hp via a 2.2-liter Multijet II diesel unit.

Jeep Renegade Vinyl

The vinyl, a symbol of a generation and emblem of fine music was the inspiration for this one. The design team recreated the same surface on the body with wonderful 3D-effect double-wrap. Garage Italia Customs applied a series of concentric circles on the body and then completed the visuals with electric-blue wrapping.

The interior is also inspired by the legacy of the vinyl: the Alcantara fabric has undergone some exclusive customization and also reproduces the design of the vinyl even on the seats! Cool!

Renegade Vinyl is based on the Trailhawk and comes with a 2.0-liter 170hp Multijet II turbo diesel unit, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The unique tribute lineup is completed with Jeep’s flagship model. The sides of the vehicle represent musical scores and are enhanced by brasss-colored notes. Of course, the same concept dominates the cabin: there is Foglizzo leather upholstery with pentagram on the backrest.

This one is based on the 75th Anniversary model and features a 3.0-liter Multijet II 250hp unit, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The three unique cars also show one more thing: that the two brands have made a step forwards in the collaboration between Jeep and Garage Italia Customs, and we do hope to see some more special cars in the near future.

Hyundai reveals more details for the upcoming IONIQ lineup. Check ’em out!

2017 Hyundai IONIQ Hyundai Motor has finally announced more details for the IONIQ, world’s first vehicle with three electric engines. With sales that start in October, the special car comes with the special IIONIQ Hybrid SE 1.6 GDI power unit, 15-inch alloys, DAB with bluetooth, Cruise Control and Rear Parking Sensors with Rear View Camera. Of course, Hyundai team geared and tons of safety gadgets: Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist System and Individual Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

Available in three trim levels, IONIQ will also provide tons of utility and comfort features as large LCD touch screens, keyless entry, heated seats, heated steering wheel, Bi-Xenon headlamps, satellite navigation with TomTom Live services and more. Coming with six different exterior colors that are Phantom Black, Polar White, Platinum Silver, Iron Grey, Demitasse Brown, Marina Blue and Phoenix Orange, the electified machine also promises 80 per cent charge capability in 30 minutes from a 50kW CCS Combo Rapid public charger. Cool, right?

IONIQ Hybrid will be available across all Hyundai dealers from October, 13, while IONIQ Electric will be available in almost 30 dealers with full network rollout next year. Of course, manufacturer offers and industry’s leading 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty pack with additional high voltage battery cover of 8 miles or 125,000 miles: whichever comes first.

Mercedes-AMG E63 better than Bugatti and LaFerrari?

POSAIDON takes Mercedes-AMG E63 RS850+ to the heights of 1,020 hp and 1,400 Nm!

Believe it or not, this is the ultimate truth, which might not seem pleasant to many: this Mercedes beats the Veyron and the LaFerrari. However, there is one condition for this to be true and it is of course the tuning. This time under the spotlight is the design team at POSAIDON, which managed to take the rather clumsy E63 to unbelievable heights: we are speaking of 1,020 hp and 1,400 Nm!

Compared to the legendary Veyron which has 16-cylinders, four turbochargers, and 8.0 litres of engine capacity, and generates just 1,001 hp, the Mercedes seems a real on-road hero. Even the extremely rare LaFerrari has worse performance than this E63, and you should also consider the fact that it needs an electric motor married to a V12 to generate 963 hp.

Another benefit is that you need to pay less for the modifications, than for the Veyron or the LaFerrari, and still have better performance. Enough talking already! Here is all you need to know for the POSAIDON RS850+.

POSAIDON Mercedes-AMG E63 RS850 engine

The car is based on the Mercedes-AMG E63 4Matic four-door saloon. To make the performance upgrade possible, the tuning studio had to upgrade and re-engineer the major engine components. The experts started with installing larger turbochargers and more efficient intercoolers. Next, they improved the ram air intake with a carbon-fibre encased intake system. The latter features large free-flow conical air filter.

The engine transformation continues through the addition of colder competition spark plugs, handmade turbo-back exhaust and valve controlled rear silencer. At last, the new hardware is supported by the custom ECU mapping, which makes full use of the modifications. Oh, we forgot to mention that the tuners updated the gearbox and fitted specially calibrated limited slip differentials to the front and rear axles.

Mentioning that the E63 AMG is a little bit clumsy wasn’t coincidental. In fact, the car is anything but light. For this reason the engineers tried to shed unnecessary kilos wherever possible. In other words they removed the rear seat and rear door trims, and replaced the front seats with the figure hugging race style lightweight seats (just like those in the C63 Black Series). All of this results in 40 kg less weight.

The ultra-light and strong carbon is another way to make a car lighter. So, the tuning company had no choice but adding carbon bonnet, front bumper, rear diffuser and spoiler, mirror caps and tailpipes. Another noticeable change is the new wire mesh grille.

The wheels the E63 RS850+ runs on are 20-inch ADV.1 alloys that look good filling the wheel arches. Behind them we see high-performance carbon-ceramic brake system with 420 x 40mm vented discs clamped by six-pot callipers in front, and 360 x 32-mm vented discs with four-pot callipers at the rear. The suspension is uprated with adjustable coilovers.

But the result is more than just 1,020 hp and 1,400 Nm of torque. Due to all-wheel-drive, the POSAIDON RS850+ hits the 100km/h from rest in just 2.8 seconds! If unleashed, the top speed reaches 368 km/h, but due to safety measures it has been electronically limited to 350 km/h. These facts make the E63 RS850+ the most powerful street-legal Mercedes of all time.

The ultimate performance machine BMW M2 gets styling and performance upgrade

Alpha-N Performance proudly presents an updated variant of the M2

What is better than an M2? An updated variant of an M2, of course! The responsible for today’s update of the ultimate car are the tuners at Alpha-N Performance, which have made the model more attractive and potent, and way faster.

The M2 upgrade programme begins with a choice of three boot-lid mounted spoilers. A particular highlight here is the newly designed and fully adjustable carbon rear wing, which has been additionally complemented by a matching splitter for the front spoiler.

But this is not everything. There are two other alternative designs for the rear wing: the one is an M4 GTS look-a-like and the other is a Racing-Style M235i Motorsport wing. To spill it all out, Alpha-N-Performance said that it is currently producing other carbon-fibre styling components for the M2 and that they will be offered shortly.

New wheels from OZ Racing were also added and they support the enhanced performance of the car. They come in 19-inch size, and are coupled with 245/35ZR19 and 265/35ZR19 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The handling of this BMW is further improved with the addition of fully adjustable Road & Track coilover suspension.

Speaking of the performance upgrades, the standard turbocharged straight six-cylinder engine of the M2, which sends 370 hp to the rear wheels, has been given an EVOX performance programme. The results can be classified in three stages: the first one raises the power of the engine from 370 hp to 400 hp, and the torque from 465 Nm to 580 Nm.

Stage number two is raising the numbers to 415 hp and 600Nm, while the last stage – to 430 hp, with peak torque of 620 Nm. If one goes for the third option, then he or she would also get a deletion of the electronic top speed limiter, as well as a racing downpipe without catalysts. The throaty exhaust note can be achieved via the free-flow silencer with throttle control.

Interior changes are scarce, but they complement the performance attitude of the M2 perfectly. The options for the cabin are an Awron dashboard digital display and a replacement of the standard seats with sports or race ones.
