  • Lexus GX 460 is named top full-size luxury SUV of Texas!

    2020 Lexus GX 460Lexus took home one more award! This time at the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo, where the 2020 Lexus GX 460 Luxury was named the top Full-Size Luxury SUV of Texas.

    As you might know, TAWA is a Texas-based nonprofit association for automotive journalists promoting professional and high-quality journalism for about twenty years. In fact, TAWA has grown to become one of the most influential and recognized automotive journalists associated in the US. The group produces two annual events – Texas Auto Roundup and Texas Truck Rodeo. Both events allow members to experience vehicles from various manufacturers, all in one place. This year’s Texas Truck Rodeo has managed to bring together 56 journalists to test drive 46 vehicles in 14 different categories in Bee Cave, Texas. Trucks and SUVs from world’s top manufacturers were evaluated in their performance, value and design.

  • Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV wins a prestigious award! Details here!

    2019-Mitsubishi-Outlander-PHEV-910Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), one of world’s best-selling electric vehicles, was honored as the first-ever 2020 Family Green Car of the Year by Green Car Journal.

    Making its debut at the first time at the 2019 San Antonio Auto and Truck Show, the new 2020 Family Green Car of the Year award recognizes the important role of fuel economy and environmental performance in the vehicle market.

    The vehicle itself, Outlander PHEV was recognized for its blend of environmental performance and family-friendly versatility in a handy crossover package. The publication further recognizes the vehicle for its one-of-a-kind offering of plug-in electric vehicle efficiency and sport utility capabilities.

    Furthermore, the Green Car Awards at the Sand Antonio Auto & Truck Show highlighted the best environmentally friendly new model year vehicles to help make purchase decisions easier. The Outlander PHEV was recognized for its green attributes and how it rose above its many competitors on the market, earning the magazine’s recognition as 2020 Green Car Product of Excellence.

    Additionally, Outlander PHEV brings together superior efficiency, along with the utility of a crossover and advanced handling capabilities, thanks to Mitsubishi’s own Super All-Wheel Control (S-AW) system. The PHEV boasts a 22-mile all-electric driving range and is mated to a gas motor in order to combine for an EPA estimated 74 MPG-e. The S-AWC system was heavily modified especially for this particular model and its unique twin-electric motor configuration in order to allow maximum performance and superior traction and safety, especially in harsh conditions.

  • Honda CR-V is named Green SUV of the Year! Details here!

    2020 Honda CR-V Touring The refreshed 2020 Honda CR-V and the new CR-V Hybrid have been named the 2020 Green SUV of the Year by Green Car Journal. This is the second time Honda has won Green SUV of the Year, and the sixth time a Honda vehicle has earned recognition from Green Car Journal.

    2020 CR-V went on sale in October and revealed refreshed exterior styling and upgraded features, including Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technology for all trim levels and more powerful engine for the LX lineup – Honda’s own 1.5-liter turbo unit. Furthermore, the all-new 2020 CR-V Hybrid, launching early next year, is brand’s first hybrid SYV in America and is expected to become one of company’s best-selling hybrid models.

    In fact, Honda was recently recognized by the US EPA as having the highest fleet-average fuel economy of any automaker. In pursuit of its goal to halve the company’s global CO2 emissions by 2050, Honda aims to electrify two-thirds of its global automobile sales by 2030. In the US, Honda electrified vehicle sales in 2019 are up to 34 per cent from a year ago – this results in more than 50,000 hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fuel cell vehicles that make 82 per cent of the sales for the year.

    2020 CR-V and CR-V Hybrid mark the sixth time Honda has been awarded by Green Car Journal. year, the 2019 Honda Insight became the fourth Honda passenger car to win Green Car of the Year, joining prior winners the 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas, 2014 Honda Accord, and 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, Clarity Electric and Clarity Fuel Cell, while the 2016 Honda HR-V won Green SUV of the Year.

  • Volkswagen unveils an electrified version of the Type 2 Bus!

    2019 Volkswagen Type 2 BusAfter showcasing the possibilities of the e-Golf powertrain, Volkswagen team commissioned west coast electric vehicle conversion specialist EV West to construct an electrified VW Type 2 Bus.

    The exclusive drivetrain features a 35.8kWh battery system from the donor 2017 e-Golf, which gives the new-classic bus approximate range of 125 miles. Furthermore, the drivetrain will reside in the rear compartment of the e-Bus, which previously was occupied by the stock air-cooled 60-hp four-cylinder power unit. Additionally, the independent rear suspension of the Type 2 Bay Window makes a good mate to the transverse driveline which is contained in a single unit that houses the 100kW synchronous AC permanent magnet electric motor, one-speed transmission and charging system.

    Most of the exterior and interior features will remain unchanged. The battery units are contained inside a custom engineered, reinforced and fireproof enclosure located under the front seats and in the former location of the fuel tank. The stock long-throw shifter remains, but now it actuates park, reverse, neutral, drive and regenerative braking models. In order to maintain its authentic feel, the e-Bus will be fitted with a classically-styled multi-function digital EV gauge in the dashboard.

    Painted Kansas Beige and Pastel White are the chosen colors for the new e-Bus. It will be on display at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for Volkswagen’s 4th Annual Drive-In Movie event.

  • Mercedes-Benz presents a new concept car. Check it out!

    2019 Mercedes-Benz Vision Mercedes SimplexCelebrating its US premiere today at Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz Design team presents the “Vision Mercedes Simplex”, a sculpture embodying the heritage and future of the luxury brand. The Exclusive machine symbolizes the transition into a new era of design and technology and at the same time pays homage to the historical legacy and the birth of the brand.

    The “Vision Mercedes Simplex” recalls the historic event of unveiling the very first Mercedes machines back in the early 1900s and at the same time showcases futuristic ideas about how the brand would develop automobiles in the future.

    The concept machine itself reinterprets the historic Simplex as a two-seater with freestanding wheels, an alternative drive, next-gen User Interface system and sexy design. The body is dominated by horizontal alignment and a monocoque amid the four large wheels, which, altogether, form the outer points of the vehicle. Additionally, the transparent trims on the wheels reflect lightness and efficiency, as do the aerodynamic surface areas between the front wheels and the vehicle body. The entire sculpture is based on the interplay between clearly and powerfully drawn surfaces and precise technical details.

    Furthermore, the radiator blends a dominant frame in rose gold – a reminiscent of the bronze radiator grille of the historic example. At the same time, the decentralized wheel location components unite aesthetics and engineering artistry in an unique way. The windscreen has been omitted. This solution adds up to the sporty spirit of the exclusive machine. Also, the reversing lamps are horizontally integrated into the rear section and separate the upper section from the lower section of the exterior shell, which envelops the occupants like a protective shell.

    In terms of interior, the entire cabin design pays homage to the successful history of Mercedes-Benz and adopts the DNA of the Simplex racing car. The engineers have managed to make a seamless transition between the exterior, interior and the User Experience software. This is particularly evident in the flowing, flute-like transition between the hood and instrument panel with its minimalistic interface.

    Furthermore, the design of the steering column and the switches on the instrument panel were inspired both by motorcycles and nautical design. Luxury components can be seen in the numerous jewel-like details with their high-quality finish, for example, on the clock and instrument panel. Additionally, the fashion world is reflected in the interior with exclusive accessories like the high-quality openers for storage compartments. The bench seat is inspired by stylish furniture, the hand-made Chesterfield quilting denotes a contemporary interpretation of classic luxurious craftsmanship.

  • Peterson Automotive Auction and VW team present new exhibition!

    2019 Peterson Automotive Peterson Automotive Museum partners with Volkswagen in order to present a new exhibit that showcases the design and construction of the vehicles of the future. Open to the public on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, “Building Electric Future” explores the manufacturer’s plan to become the foremost producer of electric vehicles through three all-electric ID. Series vehicles as the ID. 3 compact car, ID. R race car and ID. Vizzion autonomous car.

    Located in the Production Gallery, “Building Electric Future” consists of five rooms that incorporate interactive features and showcases how VW’s MEB modular electric vehicle platform is engineered and incorporated within the ID. Lineup of vehicles.

    The opening reception welcomed media and VW enthusiasts to the Petersen for the global unveiling of the new ID. Space Vizzion, a wagon of tomorrow that blends aerodynamic features of a GT machine with the spaciousness of a SUV. The concept vehicle will be on display to the public at the LA Auto Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center from November 22 to December 1, 2019.

  • Nisan announces new details about upcoming 2020 Sentra

    2020 Nissan SentraOn the eve of the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan unveiled its all-new 2020 Nissan Sentra model. The new addition to the lineup, which goes on sale in late January, transforms the storied nameplate into a head-turning compact sedan with numerous upgrades, cutting-edge technologies and seamless connectivity and performance.

    Originally introduced back in 1982, the eight-generation Sentra is based on a new platform that provides greatly revised proportions and a new stance – the vehicle is about two inches lower and two inches wider than previous models. The exterior is also revised and now features a signature V-motion grille, thin LED headlamps and a floating roof. New Sentra also comes with new wheel design and a slate of new colors, including three new two-ton combinations. Neat!

    In terms of interior, the all-new cabin welcomes everyone to a more refined and luxurious space, creating a high-quality experience for all passengers and driver. There was additional attention paid to the smallest of details in order to improve the perceived and actual quality of new Sentra. The feel of the steering wheel, along with the smooth operation of the dials and the leather-appointed, heated front seats and heated outside mirrors give that impeccable feel and comfort that Nissan brand is famous for.

    And as it comes to drivetrain system, 2020 Sentra adopts a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder power unit that produces a total of 149hp and 146lb-ft of torque. This means a total of 20 per cent and 16 per cent increase over the previous generation’s 1.8-liter engine. The new system is also projected to offer improved fuel economy.

    Advanced safety and driver assistance technologies are also available: there’s Nissan’s Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced driver-assist systems, which include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist. New Sentra is also packed up with 10 airbags, Rear Door Alert, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

  • Audi e-tron and Q3 SUVs receive prestigious recognition!

    2019 Audi Q3Audi e-tron midsize SUV, the first fully-electric Audi vehicle, along with its Q3 compact-premium SUV sibling earned ALG Residual Value awards for 2020. ALG’s Residual Value Awards recognize vehicles in 27 segments that are forecasted to retain a high price after a three-year period. The e-tron has managed to earn the designation for the electric category, while Q3 has won the Premium Subcompact Utility segment.

    For more than 50 years, ALG has used its market insights, industry expertise ad leading analytics in order to become one of the most prominent brand in the segment. Back in 2000, ALG has managed to launch its first program that recognizes the automotive brands and products that provide the best-in-class value to consumers.

    Audi e-tron and Q3 were selected through an analysis of used vehicle performance, brand outlook and product competitiveness. In order to qualify for the recognition, a manufacturer should make entries in at least four different segments. In order to account for differences across trim levels, model averages are weighted based on percentage share relative to the entire model lineup.

  • New Mitsubishi Mirage is awarded with 2020 ALG pre-owned value award

    2020 Mitsubishi Mirage Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., one of the fastest-growing Asian brands in the US for the second consecutive year, today announced that new Mirage model received an ALG Pre-Owned Value Award (POVA) in the Subcompact segment. The 2020 POVAs are given to machines with the lowest forecasted depreciation from two to five years of age, during the period between 2019-2022.

    ALG, the benchmark for forecasting future vehicles values and the analytics subsidiary of TrueCar, Inc. recognizes two- to five- year old vehicles in 27 segments that are forecast to depreciate the least over the subsequent 36 months in the used market. Furthermore, vehicle segmentation is based on ALG’s proprietary automotive segmentation, which takes under consideration the information such as vehicle’s size, transaction price, and cross-shop information.

  • Mitsubishi team announces first details for the upcoming 2020 Mirage

    2020 Mitsubishi Mirage Mitsubishi Motors Corporation unveils new and updated Mirage today. The newcomer bears the name Attrage saloon and will be on display at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2019.

    The revision of the Mirage brings sharper and more dynamics exterior and more elegant interior ambience. What is more, the new model adopts the Dynamic Shield Front design that denotes the Mitsubishi brand identity. The elegant sweeps round from the sides towards the middle of the face in a protective barrier. Furthermore, the square grille and its horizontal/vertical bar pattern contribute to that aggressive and sharper expression.

    Additionally, the optimized lamp layout makes the front-end look wider and more muscular. The styling includes LED combination lamps that connect with the grille and the fog lamps, located at the bumper corner. At the rear, there’s a squared-off treatment for the bumper corners and L-signatured horizontal LED combination lamps that stretch across the width of the vehicle.

    This sexy and expressive look is finished off with new 15-inch alloy wheels with two-tone diamond-cut styling and two new color choices: White Diamond and Sand Yellow.

    The new Mitsubishi Mirage also benefits from more user-friendly and stylish cabin. The front arm rests benefit form new design and hand-touch areas are finished in soft-feel cloth. The meter panel and the power window switch panel use a carbon pattern, while the upper trim levels are upholstered in a sporty-look fabric/synthetic leather blend with the addition of piping and stitching to the seat sides.

    The new Mirage can also be specified with Mitsubishi’s Smartphone Display Audio with a seven-inch touchscreen for improved legibility and ease of use.   • Mitsubishi Motors expands its network with a new dealer

    2020 Mitsubishi Outlander Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., one of the fastest-growing Asian brands in the US, announced the newest addition to its North American dealer network – RC Hill Mitsubishi – Oclana.

    The vehicle is the second exclusive one that Mitsubishi dealership owned by Robert “RC” Hill in central Florida, joining his premier dealership RC Hill Mitsubishi in DeLand, Frorida, outside of Orlando metro area. RC Hill Mitsubishi, which opened back in 2003, was recognized by MMNA in 2019 for its annual “Best in Class” award for Dealership Service Satisfaction ranking among all Mitsubishi dealerships.

    In June, MMNA announced it would relocate its US headquarters from Cypress, California to Franklin, Tennessee by the end of 2019. The relocation is part of an ongoing effort to reinvent every aspect of the Mitsubishi Motors brand and business in the US, from corporate leadership to dealer partners to every touchpoint in a customer’s relationship with their vehicle.
