DS 3 Dark Light Limited Edition Mixes Day and Night

DS 3 Dark Light Limited Edition is not a HIM-dedicated vehicle. If you are fan of the band, then you should know what I am talking about. For those who aren’t familiar, HIM are a very cool band from Finland, dedicatedly playing the so called “love metal” for more than 24 years. They became extremely popular in the US with their fifth album, called ‘Dark Light’, and are also best friends with the professional skateboarder Bam Margera. Being also an MTV Jackass star, he was the person who made the ‘Heartagram’ symbol popular, which by the way is originally HIM’s logo.

Enough off-topic. The here-presented limited edition of DS 3 will be produced in only 300 examples. It will be strictly distributed only in the UK.

Characteristic Design for the Exterior

If you are wondering why this DS 3 is called ‘Dark Light’, here’s the answer. The car is painted in Perla Nera Black metallic, but features one-off clear-backed metallic vinyl wrap along each side. The vinyl gives the feel that the black-as-the-night vehicle is slightly illuminated by the rising sunlight.

This particular limited edition DS 3 is based on the DStyle Nav trim level. This means that it features eMyWay satellite navigation as standard. It also adds signature DS LED Vision headlights, chrome door mirrors and ‘Dark Light’ badging on the front wings and tailgate. To make it even cooler, the designers made sure that it runs on 17-inch black diamond-cut Bellone alloys.

The cabin is beautifully styled with Black leather pack, ‘Dark Light’ dashboard badging, aluminum sports pedals and premium carpet mats. The interior is also adorned by sports seats and front arm rest as well as by convenience pack, which adds auto lights and wipers, electrically-folding door mirrors, auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Drivetrain

Under the hood of the DS 3 Dark Light is the efficient PureTech 110 S&S petrol engine. It is connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission and features stop-start function useful for the urban environment.

Renault Alaskan Concept Previews Future Production One-Tonne Pick-up

Renault Alaskan Concept Front View Renault Alaskan Concept seems very similar to what we have seen in the past. Well, this feeling you have it’s a real thing, since it is almost similar to Renault Duster Oroch Pick-Up, which we have seen debuting at the 7th Buenos Aires International Motor Show in June. While Oroch is intended for the South American market, the ALASKAN Concept literally paves the way for a forthcoming global model.

Of course, we must admit that the Alaskan Concept looks much more sophisticated, doesn’t it? As we said, it comes to give a glimpse of the future Renault pick-up model, which is going to satisfy not only business needs, but will be also suitable for leisure and daily use.

The One-Tonne Show Truck Has Head-Turning Design

Named beautifully ALASKAN, this concept pick-up has athletic appearance, robust styling and cutting-edge attitude. Featuring the characteristic Renault design, assertive dimensions and masculine stance, the truck is definitely a head-turner.

The company also revealed that the wheels it rides on measure 21-inch and this is why they perfectly fill the prominent wheel arches. At the front, we can’t miss the large, prominent logo and the impressive bonnet. By the way, it is emphasized by four sculptured ribs.

The door mirrors, brake calipers, the centers of the wheel rims and the front tow hook are visually strengthened by the blue and yellow detailing. And have you noticed the full-LED lighting signature? Furthermore, at the rear there are large LED Pure Vision lights with brushed and polished aluminium surrounds framed by C-shape direction indicators. The sophisticated rear-end styling is heightened by the central aluminium exhaust tail pipe.

Drivetrain

Under the hood of the ALASKAN Concept is Renault’s four-cylinder, twin turbo diesel engine. It features twin turbo technology and is longitudinally-mounted. In addition, it is also lighter than average equivalent engines. Although there are now specific figures disclosed, Renault promises that this engine will offer excellent acceleration, fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.

The pick-up truck also benefits from strong chassis for excellent road holding, high ground clearance and distinctive driving comfort. At the back, the payload is more than one tonne, while the cabin can still accommodate five passengers onboard.

It is ready for adventures and trips with its range of outdoor accessories like the load bed liners, covers, etc. At last, Renault technicians mounted a camera located inside the door mirror housings to permit the filming of passing landscapes. How cool is that?

2016 Toyota Prius Debuts in Frankfurt and Why is it Important

2016 Toyota Prius First Teaser 2016 Toyota Prius will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This announcement just got published by Toyota officials next to a teaser image of the hybrid car. If it wasn’t for the new technology, which is also eco-friendly, I probably wouldn’t pay that much attention. But this is definitely news, since one of the most popular hybrid vehicles is going to get a thorough change. Or we at least expect to see one.

What Does Toyota Promise?

Of course, the new generation Prius will sport a striking look, supported by better driving dynamics (something lacking in the current generation). In addition, the fuel economy of the car will be even more impressive and will “challenge what you know about hybrids,” as Toyota says.

What’s New Frankfurt?

In Frankfurt we will also see the global debut of the second Toyota C-HR Concept hybrid crossover. So, this means that Toyota stand will be overtaken by eco-friendly vehicles and like-minded people. How cool is that!

When is the Market Debut of 2016 Prius?

Toyota said that we should expect the fourth-generation Prius in showrooms in the first quarter of next year.

How Hybrids Can Change the World?

That’s an interesting question, right? Let me start a little bit farther. Since the introduction of Prius in 1997, Toyota has sold more than eight million hybrid vehicles globally. The most recent one-million sales took just 10 months. And back in 1997 Toyota sold just 300 hybrids.

In other words, this means that these hybrid vehicles owners around the world have saved 22 million kilolitres of petrol, which is enough to fill 8,800 Olympic swimming pools. This also equates to around $26.4 billion dollars, which were saved. Even better, the environment has also benefited. The latest Toyota figures reveal that its hybrid vehicles have saved about 58 million tons of CO2 emissions!

I personally can’t wait to see the birth of 2016 Prius, because it makes a leap forward in changing the world!

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet Finally Revealed!

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is finally revealed! At least in pictures. It will have an official premiere at the Frankfurt International Motor Show this September. Elegantly and sporty, the new cabrio is actually the first open-top variant of the S-Class since 1971 and the sixth generation of the S-Class family.

Next to its exclusive design and luxurious surfaces throughout the interior, the new S-Class also features cutting-edge technology like the comprehensive warmth and wind protection concept that features intelligent climate control for convertibles.

Engine Range

The V8 engine driving the S500 Cabrio produces 455 hp (335 kW) and peak torque of 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque. The innovative 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission supports both a dynamic and a fuel-saving driving style.

If you happen to be at the show you will be also pleased to see the Mercedes‑AMG variant of the S63 4MATIC Cabriolet. It will mesmerize you with its 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine and no less than 585 horsepower (430 kW) and peak torque of 900 Nm (665 lb-ft).

There is more to that, ant it is the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque split which is featured as a standard. And have I mentioned that the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h happens in 3.9 seconds. Well, that’s a pretty good number for a convertible, isn’t it?

The S-Class Cabriolet is also extremely rigid due to the utilization of some innovative solutions like the luggage compartment bulkhead made of aluminium and magnesium as well as the aluminium rear floor. What is more, behind the rear head restraints there is a standard-fit roll-over protection system that includes pyrotechnic initiation of the actuators. The roll bars themselves are moved into position by a gas generator.

Why Climate Comfort is Important?

Mercedes-Benz has told us recently that has aims of building the most comfortable convertible in the world. So, this surely has to do with the climate comfort, too. First, the car includes an improved automatic wind protection system called AIRCAP. There is also AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, heated armrests and seat heating in the rear plus the intelligent climate control. They all contribute for the significantly enhanced comfort.

The climate is of course controlled entirely automatically. But what does this mean? First of all, the driver does not need to select a mode for closed or open top, and secondly they do not have to save a temperature setting for the specific driving conditions.

Petty’s Garage Ford Mustang GT to be Auctioned with Proceeds Going to Veterans

With lot number S148.1, the 2015 Ford Mustang GT has received some characteristics modifications to its exterior and interior and got even more horsepower.

But really cool about this car is that you can actually own it. Yes! This pretty Mustang is going to be auctioned at Mecum Auction this September 16-19. The car, of course has been donated by Richard Petty and Richard Petty Motorsports, and 100% of the gathered proceed from its sale will directly benefit the organization of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

What’s So Special About This 2015 Ford Mustang GT Lot S148.1?

First of all, it has one-off exterior. With its unmistakable Petty Blue paint job and sleek design, it has been specially built for this particular auction. Inside, the upholstery was changed with real black leather that was contrasted via blue stitching. This also mimics the exterior design, doesn’t it?

What is more, the performance upgrades included in it offer more than 600 base horsepower! There are no details revealed about how did he and his technicians achieve this result, but we are pretty much concordant with what Petty says.

Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered veterans service organization, which through its almost 70 years of expertise has helped those of its members with special needs, including veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

In other words, this car is truly special and it will be a huge benefit not only for its future owner, but for many veterans that really need support and appreciation! Another BMW M235i Cabriolet Project Mightier than its Stock Brother

DTE-Systems BMW M235i Cabriolet Front View DTE-Systems BMW M235i is a very special version of the M235i cabriolet that features enhanced power and some other playful characteristics. But before we discus the benefits that this car comes with, we should also remind you that the last news published about BMW was also about the M235i.

However, it was a M235i-tuning project by dÄHLer, which as a result generated around 390 horsepower. The logical question that comes in mind is whether this DTE-Systems project will bring out even more from this special M-Series cabrio. Let’s see.

FSR14 Performance upgrade for the Turbocharged Engine

Under the hood of the M235i is the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six motor, which in its stock form produces 326 hp (240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. DTE-System’s performance upgrade called FSR1 adds to these numbers 40 hp and 70 Nm, making them a total of 366 hp (269 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft).

If you have followed my thoughts then you should also know the answer of the aforementioned question. Unfortunately, DTE-System did not manage to beat dÄHLer’s 390 hp for the BMW M235i.

New Keypad System

Nonetheless, this cabriolet has some other goodies that the other one doesn’t. For instance, an important additional feature here is the keypad system that allows the driver to choose from three different and fully customizable driving programmes.

As a result, they can dial in as many as seven power levels within these programmes. Three-colour LEDs show the chosen programme and service level.

In addition, greater driving pleasure is ensured via the in-house made PedalBox. What does it do? Well, it quickens the response time of the electronic throttle. In fact, there are over 20 different settings, three programmes and seven power levels. The world premiere of Q30, company’s first ever premium active compact vehicle, will happen in no less than two weeks at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt.

What do we actually know about the exterior? First it will be based on the concept that Infiniti debuted two years ago at the same event. If you do remember well, then you will also expect to see an expressive design with flowing but edgy forms and untamed character.

The visually dynamic exterior served as an inspiration for the design of the interior. In fact, the cabin of the Q30 takes the expressive forms and curves of the exterior and turns them into something very comfortable that caresses the driver and passengers.

One very special and tactile detail is the Dinamica suede-like material from Italy. Although this fabric is used mainly in the fashion industry, it now covers the roof and support pillars of the Q30 cabin.

Furthermore, the premium design is supported by more practical matters. Precisely, the seats for the driver and passengers have been constructed for enhanced comfort support with an elevated hip-point. In this way they help the in-control sense.

VÄTH Has a Power Package for Open-Top Mercedes-Benz E500

VÄTH Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet Side View Puls Front View Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet has just received a special treatment by the specialists at VÄTH. The so called power package has been specifically created for the open-top German vehicle. The black E500 Cabrio also got interesting exterior modifications as well as some goodies for its interior.

Is This Really a Power Package?

The answer is definitely “YES”, since this car has been taken out from its stock configuration. The first thing we should praise is the top speed extension, thanks to which the car now reaches and even goes beyond 300km/h.

Thanks to the V50RS tuning-kit that made possible the fine-tuning of engine electronics, the in-house charge-air cooling system and VÄTH’s rear silencer system, the V8 under the hood can now show some envious power. Instead of its stock horses and Newton meters, it now generates more than 550 hp (404 kW) as well as 830 Nm of maximum torque.

Other Goodies

Some might think that the other goodies account for better looks. However, we have to assure you that they also contribute for much better driving experience. After all, VÄTH has just improved the horsepower of the V8!

First, the rear silencer system was made of VA-stainless steel and features flap control system and two oval tailpipes in 115 x 85 mm on both sides. Flanged edge tailpipes, rear diffuser of carbon with fins and larger underbody were also installed.

The Mercedes on the pictures seems a little bit lowered and this is due to the 30 mm lowering carried out by set of springs. The braking system is also different from the stock one: here we have VA 6-piston brake callipers with high-efficiency coating, which bite into potted 390-mm-brake discs and brake fluid Castrol SFR.

Wheels & Tires

The new brake system couldn’t go without new wheels and tires combination. The added rims come in size of 8.5×20-inch and are fitted with tyres in 235/30R20. This counts only for the front. At the rear, the E-class got 10×20-inch alloys with 275/25R20 rubbers.

At last, rounding out this unique tuning are the trunk lip spoiler made of carbon fibre as well many accessories for the interior like the sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.

RECON MC8 is Here! Meet a Very Special 1000HP Audi R8 by Potter & Rich

Besides the very special photo-shoot that the car received and the exclusive pictures, this Audi has a lot more to show. Proudly presented by Potter & Rich we can’t get enough of it!

Named “RECON MC8”, the vehicle wouldn’t be in this condition if it wasn’t the work of many specialists. The first company that took part in this project was mcchip-dkr. It actually developed the bolide and built it by hand. Spectacular, isn’t it?

At the heart of the RECON MC8 is the serial V10 engine. However, it isn’t in its stock form, but has been charged by mcchip-dkr refitted compressor. In addition, the unit was also equipped with high performance pistons and forged conrod.

The result is as extraordinary as 1000HP… Well, almost 1000HP. The powerplant produces actually 950 HP (699 kW) with 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque! Well, that’s a thing, isn’t it? An interesting fact is that the software was developed on company’s own test stand, and in this setup, it was tested on German highways and on race tracks like the Ascari Race Resort in the Spanish Marbella and Nurburgring’s Northern loop.

What makes this tuning very special is what has happened next. First, the tuners decided to substitute the factory-set four-wheel-drive with a rear-wheel drive. This is for the sake of sportier behavior.

In addition, the Drexler differential lock warrants for a significantly better traction behavior during acceleration and in cornering limits. On the other hand, the seven-speed double coupling gear box brings the concentrated power quasi transition-free down to the road.

Safety Comes First

The stopping power is ensured by the efficient Brembo motorsports braking system. But what is making the car safer is the one-off KW automotive-made motorsports chassis, paired with hydraulic air system (KW HLS).

Better Sound for the Sensitive Ears

RECON MC8 can also mesmerize you with the sound it makes when the engine is on. It is a result from the cooperation of both Capristo and mcchip-dkr teams. They have developed an innovative sound system that is fully adjustable.

Exterior

Well, we must admit that the exterior is definitely the “Thing” that catches the eye (probably the girl on the pics below, too). The external appearance of this special Audi R8 is characterized by the original Audi R8 LMS Ultra Carbon Body kit. It features impressive optics and low weight, great front flaps, front splitter and massive GT3 rear spoiler.

Wheels and tires have been changed too, and here the work is ought to the specialists at BBS motorsport. They have chosen wider carbon fiber wheels fitted with low-profiles: 11×18 inches with 305/30 ZR18 at the front and 13×18 inches with 335/30 ZR18 at the rear. But there is another wheel-tire combination offered, which is more suitable for ‘everyday life’. It is the three-part LV1 MB-Design rims in 9×20 inches with 245/30 ZR20 rubbers at the front and 11.5×21 with 305/25 ZR21 at the rear.

Interior

RECON MC8 seems as comfortable as hell! Parts of the serial R8-V10-Plus have been coated by finest Alcantara in contrasting colors. The instrument cluster was completed by a speedometer extension of up to 430 kmph/270 mph.

Frankfurt Motor Show Meets Suzuki Baleno

2016 Suzuki Baleno Front and Side View Suzuki Baleno in its next generation form will be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) on 15th of September. Suzuki says that this is its “ideal compact hatchback”, which has the intention of raising the bar for the other cars in its class.

Three images have been released so far and they are showing what to expect in Frankfurt. First, we see that the new Baleno has an elegant and very powerful design. Although it is a compact hatch, we also wish to see a spacious cabin and enough room for the luggage.

More Technology?

Being a new model, there surely must be new technologies featured. Some of the already announced goodies include a rigid but lightweight new generation platform on which the car is built, new 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo BOOSTERJET engine, and the SHVS that stands for the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki. The last one features engine assist by an integrated starter generator.

Better fuel efficiency and more in terms of performance is also expected here. Furthermore, various measures have been used to minimize the weight in order to meet the rigorous size and weight requirements.

When is the Market Debut of 2016 Baleno?

Which are the Benefits of 2016 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet?

2016 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet has been just revealed and it has a lot to be proud of. For the new model year, the car gets way sportier exterior, new colors in its exterior color palette and more refined interior. And did you know that VW’s Golf-based cabrio is one of the most successful open-top cars currently on the market in Germany?

Where we can see all that it’s got to share with us? Of course, the answer is at the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) and this is exactly where Volkswagen will introduce all benefits of the visually update variant of the “four-seater soft-top best seller”.

1. Sportier Appearance

By now there is only one picture released. Thanks to it, we can see that car’s front is characterized by sportier front bumper, while its sides – by new sills. The rear also got an update via sporty accents on the rear bumper.

2. More Colors

The new open-top experience that the latest generation Golf Cabriolet will offer will be undoubtedly colorful. There are six new exterior colors as well as an additional soft-top color and six new wheel designs.

3. Updated Interior

In the cabin, the car is fitted with the latest generation steering wheel and a lot of new trim elements and designs for the cloth and leather seats. Also new on board are the Composition Colour and Composition Media radio/infotainment systems. Discover Media navigation system will be offered as an option.

4. How About the Engines?

Volkswagen also said that there will be a major update to the range of engines in the Golf Cabriolet. They will all switch to the Euro 6 emissions standard. The four petrol (TSI) and two diesel engines (TDI) in total are direct-injection turbo engines with powerful torques to match.

John Steed’s Famous Muscled-Up Jaguar Found and Goes on Sale

First, I must tell you that this one-off jewel, painted in Racing Green, is owned by John Steed… Well, owned is a very strong word when I’m talking about a fictional character, of course.

Who is John Steed?

But if you happen to not know, who John Steed is, here is a little bit of information for you. Called also Major The Hon, John Wickham Gascoyne Beresford Steed is the main protagonist in the popular TV series ‘The Avengers’ and the ‘The New Avengers’, aired in the 60s and 70s.

In short, the story of Steed is the following: he is a secret agent working for the British intelligence. He was known for his impeccable dress, comprised of three-piece suit with bowler and umbrella! Now you recalled who he is, didn’t you?

John Steed’s Big Cat was elegantly tweaked, tuned and pumped. It is based on the XJ Coupe, which boasted a dozen cylinders offering 5.3 litres. Steed’s popular Jaguar is the eighth XJ-C 12 made.

Back in the days, it was originally an experimental model. It included Broadspeed body kit and extra-wide wheels, which were specifically fitted for the TV series and contributed for the special muscular look of the car.

What happened to the car after the show ended? It was dry-stored for many years and it is currently in need of restoration. This is why it will go to the market very soon and hopefully be somebody’s ‘barn-find’ dream project.

H&H Classics has just announced that the car Steed’s Jaguar now goes on sale. The price is estimated as low as £10,000 to £12,000 and the sales event will happen on 14^th of October.
