1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Returns To Southern California

1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe which made a historic victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is returning to Southern California. The emblematic car will be the headline the second annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show. The event will be held on Saturday, May 17th, and will be hosted by Shelby American. At the event, the visitors will also see Ford and Shelby car show and awards ceremony. All proceeds will go Shelby Foundation and new museum.

The Shelby Daytona Coupe was based on the AC Cobra roadster chassis and also featured its drive-train. The racing car was built specifically to take on Ferrari in the GT class. Just six examples of the model were ever built, so it is very rare. For the 1964 Le Mans, four Ferrari GTOs were entered, all aimed at beating Shelby’s Daytona Coupe.

The drivers behind the wheel of the Cobra were Gurney and Bondurant, who clocked over 196 miles per hour and took first place in the GT III class. In 1965, Joe Schlesser drove the car at Daytona and has finished between a pair of GT 40’s, finishing on the second place. These achievements helped the Shelby American team take the World Manufacturers Championship from Ferrari in 1965.

Attendees at the event will also see other rare Shelby cars from the past five decades, starting with the first generation GT350 and ending up to the latest Ford GT. Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show will be probably the most memorable events of the year. If you are into muscle cars, of course.

Jeep Teases Two Concepts Prepared For Moab Easter Jeep Safari

The latest news from Jeep includes two new teaser images of brand’s six future concept vehicles. In fact, to make them a reality, Jeep and Mopar have once again joined forces. Both models are specifically designed to participate in this year’s Easter Jeep Safari, taking place in Moab, Utah, between 12th and 20th of April.

The teased models are the Jeep Wrangler MOJO, which is presented in a colorful and playful orange exterior color, and the Jeep Cherokee Dakar that adds an ultimate style via red accents as well as sports-feel. It is also visible that the latter also has increased ride height and is equipped with off-road tyres.

Easter Jeep Safari comprises of trail rides, day long trips, and those who depart from Moab Utah will compete throughout a 9 day long event. The event is hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers Inc., which is one of the local four wheel drive clubs of Moab.

Unfortunately, there is no additional information released up to date about these two, but Jeep promises to release more details as well as images next week. Stay tuned!

2015 Hyundai Genesis Goes On Sale

2015 Hyundai Genesis, the luxury saloon of the South Korean company, is currently being released on the market. Detailed US pricing is listed below. The model will be hitting the showrooms later this month and will be well equipped with a wide range of standard equipment. The base engnie offered here is the 3.8L V6 one, while the top of the range powertrain is the 5.0L V8. 2015 Genesis aims to deliver the best combination of bold design, superb driving dynamics, unmatched standard technology and attractive pricing.

When compared to the 2014 model, this new Hyundai delivers significantly more standard content. Dotz Shift Celebrates Golf’s 35th Anniversary With GTI Edition 35

We have seen already couple of projects in the past two months by Dotz Shift and we were impressed. To keep the good speed the designers has released their third project, which comes to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the emblematic Volkswagen Golf.

As a standard, the GTI has been equipped with 235 horsepower (173 kW) and delivers a fueal economy rated at 8.1L/100km. Dotz Shift decided to give more power to the car in order to celebrate its 35 years of history making. Thus, they have adapted race catalytic converter, added Bastuck exhaust system and adjusted the engine via software.

The result is that this GTI has gained 100 horsepower more, resulting in a total of 335 (246 kW). Then the tuners equipped the car with H&R coilovers and track extension, which give the GTI particularly good grip.

In fact, Dotz Shift calls this project “racing-oriented Shift pinstripe red”. The reason for this is that the VW boasts red lacquered pinstripes in the groove of the outer rim edge as well as a red inlay and logo on the black center cap.

The wheels are also sports-inspired. The star pattern formed by seven slender, edgy double spokes contributes towards a lightweight and aggressive look, while the deep lip adds the racing emotion. Particularly, the dimension of the wheels at the front and the back of Edition 35 is 8.0×19”.

Vauxhall Goes To Rio With Astra Copacabana

Just like the MINI Paceman GoalCooper, Vauxhall has just unveiled the new Astra Copacabana that celebrates this year’s FIFA World Cup. It has the Brazilian flag on its roof, while palm trees, dancing lines and silhouette of football players all along its doors.

The vehicle is based on Astra GTC and under its bonnet has the 1.6 Turbo litre engine, which offers more drama due to the capability of 200 horsepower (147 kW). The car needs only 2.6 seconds to cover the accelerations sprint from 0 to 60mph.

Inside, the interior sports unique upholstered from genuine Rio turf seats. In fact, the coupe is an example of craftsmanship: Vauxhall’s interior designers successfully processed original grass from the famous Maracanã Stadium and put it inside. What is more, every car comes with a certificate that proves the authenticity of the sacred greenery.

The footwells has also received unique treatment. They were filled with finest sand from the Copacabana beach. In addition, each special edition comes with a handy pair of flip-flops in the glove compartment.

The car will be offered in a choice of Samba or Vuvuzela tones, and will be equipped with a beverage vending machine that mixes up ice-cold Caipirinhas during the drive (alcohol-free of course). Vauxhall Astra Copacabana is currently on sale.

MINI Cooper T Powered By Tea-Leaf Biofuel Composite

MINI Cooper T is definitely an evolutionary car. It has been developed by company’s scientists in order to improve its sustainability credentials. Special about Cooper T is that it is the first ever vehicle to be powered by a tea-leaf biofuel composite. This basically means that the MINI offers British style literally in all its forms.

The revolutionary new model will be available in a variety of colors, featuring the ‘Chamomile Yellow’, ‘Red Bush’ and ‘Earl Grey’. It is scheduled to be launched later this month when more details around it will be disclosed.

What was revealed so far is that the model is capable of covering up to 40 miles on a single cup (of tea). In addition, Cooper T’s customers won’t be deprived from anything, because the car will be equipped with all standard features one would expect. Some of them include the VVT, ABS, DSC, and Dunk Avoidance Technology (DAT).

In fact, this particular project has been in development for years. Through this time, and extensive researched have shown that Britain’s favorite drink is also the perfect biofuel. MINI Cooper T will be officially unveiled at the MINI Cotswold Gloucester on 1st of April.

Skoda Introduces Furry Yeti Ice Special Edition

Skoda is celebrating the launch of its facelifted Yeti range with a very interesting special edition called Yeti Ice. If you wonder what is so spectacular about it, then you should look closer at the picture. Notice something not quite typical? Yes, it is covered with fur.

The model introduces a radical faux fur finish that has been developed by company’s engineers working in the Himalayas. Yeti Ice’s faux fur has several benefits when compared to the traditional paint finishes. The inventor of it is Dr Yu Ciddingme, who said that the fur is so thick that during test-drives in the Arctic Circle, the drivers didn’t need to use the heater.

Of course, the vehicle is based on the Yeti and Yeti Outdoor, which were launched in January. And if you want to get this particular car, you should make an order and you will be given the opportunity to choose from a number of personalization options, including side-partings and fur extensions.

How about maintaining Yeti Ice’s fur? Skoda says that this is very easy due to a standard specification that includes a lifetime supply of Skoda-branded shampoo and conditioner, a comb and brush kit to keep the well-groomed look.

DMC Ferrari 458 Italia Elegante In The Swiss Alps

DMC Ferrari 458 Italia Elegante is a project we are familiar with. New around it is its new exceptional photographs made by the talented Igor Stasijevic. In fact, the photographer did a photoshoot with a blacked out version of the 458 Elegante, which was built by DMC‘s Swiss partner Luxury Custom.

On one of the photos, which were made in the Swiss Alps, you can also see the Mercedes-Benz McLaren tuned by Hamann Motorsport. In particular, this Ferrari has been equipped with an additional body kit, which makes it stand out from the croud.

To be more precise, the kit comprises of an aerodynamic elements that enhance even more the aggressive look of the Italian car. The aero-kit consists from front lips, side skirts and other elements, which additionally support the improved driving-feel.

Furthermore, what also has been done here are the tinted or blacked out front, side and rear windows. DMC 458 Elegante is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.5 liter V8 engine, which develops 570 horsepower (419 kW) at 9,000RPM and 540Nm (399 lb-ft) at 6,000RPM. We are actually wondering whether the car will deliver better acceleration time due to the aerodynamic and consequently weight enhancements. The standard accelerations time for the 458 Italia from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.4 seconds, and the top speed is 325 km/h (202 mph).

Zenos E10 Launch Edition Arriving In USA

Zenos Cars has just announced that it is coming to America with its range of lightweight high performance sports cars. The first model to be introduced to the U.S. market is the Zenos E10 Launch Edition, which will be arriving in dealerships next year.

The first public appearance of the E10 was at UK’s prestigious Autosport International Show in January. It achieved great success due to the praise of its innovative E-platform chassis architecture, contemporary design, and performance.

In particular, the E10 is a road legal car which however is track focused. The two seater sports car has Lotus Elise type proportions, and it is equipped with 200 hp (147 kW) mid-mounted transverse naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Ford GDI engine, which drives the rear wheels.

The vehicle weighs only 1430 pounds, thus achieving a power to weight ratio of 300hp/ton. This low weight has been accomplished via the use of a single ‘backbone’ aluminium extrusion with a carbon composite monocoque. This basically means that this architecture delivers optimal torsional rigidity.

Furthermore, the front suspension connects directly to the spine/backbone, while the engine is positioned in the removable rear extruded sub-frame. In terms of safety, there is fully encased steel safety cell comprising twin roll-hoops and side-impact bars.

Inside, E10 focuses entirely in the driver. A visual display is positioned directly behind the steering wheel, while in the middle of the dash, there is another larger screen that includes a choice of road or track data display.

Zenos E10 Launch Edition is equipped as a standard with a Limited Slip Differential, In-board Bilstein dampers, 4-point racing harness, bespoke Zenos composite seats, quick release steering wheel, and is finished in Launch Edition Red paint. The price of the car starts at $43,750 USD.

Hoffmann Group Partners With Audi For New RS5 DTM Livery

Audi’s new partner Hoffmann Group has been assigned to add more color to the racing machine RS5 DTM. The season will start on 4th of May at Hockenheim, and this is when we will see the sporting conspicuous graphics on the car.

Hoffmann Group is based in Munich and has more than 2,500 employees and more importantly – more than 135,000 customers worldwide. The company is Audi’s leading system partner for quality tools and combines trading, manufacturing and service expertise.

For the firs time, both brands are joining forces, with Hoffmann’s logo being featured on Jamie Green’s Audi RS 5 DTM of Audi Sport Team Rosberg. The reason for this is that technology and tools have always played an important part in the DTM.

In fact, Audi has stated that both companies share the same high claim to quality and precision as well as a passion for motorsport. The bright orange livery of the RS5 DTN will be making its official first appearance at the ITR test in Budapest, which will be held from March 31 to April 3.

David Brown Automotive Unveils Speedback Ahead Of Monaco Debut [VIDEO]

David Brown Automotive unveiled its first handcrafted and one-ff GT car called Speedback at an exclusive event in London. The V8 powered sports coupe will have it official debut in Monaco at the Top Marques show 17th to 20th April.

David Brown has deep background in engineering and vehicle manufacturing. Its vehicle combines the best of classic and contemporary cars. As one can see from the pictures the GT has the classic styling, resembling old sports cars, but is equipped with modern mechanicals and offer modern reliability. The assembling of the car began two years ago.

Speedback’s exceptional performance and handling is ensured via the latest Jaguar 5 litre supercharged engine. In fact, the car itself is based on the famous Jaguar XKR. This means that the Speedback will also offer extensive aerodynamics and suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and exhilarating braking performance.

As mentioned, the sports car is driven by the modern 5.0-liter supercharged V8 unit, which delivers more than 550 horsepower (404 kW) and 680Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. We assume that just like its sibling the XKR it is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. No details on the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h were disclosed, so this keeps us wondering.

Seat To Introduce Its First Production SUV

The first ever production Sport Utility Vehicle in Seat’s range is going to finally become a reality. The brand has been working on its design and development for almost two years and promises that marketing of the SUV will begin in 2016.

Seat aims to build an important new pillar in its future corporate strategy and to make a step further to reach sustainable profitability for the company. The new model is currently being in preparation in brand’s Technical Centre at Martorell.

In fact, Seat has unveiled a concept crossover called IBX back in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. And although there were disclosed only scarce details for the upcoming production SUV, we are actually expecting to see an evolution of the IBX.

The concept SUV represented Seat’s vision for an urban sports utility vehicle. It combined brand’s powerful character and sporty design language with a self-confident look and distinctive proportions. The vehicle has no ornamentations, because perfect design requires no decoration.

The proportions of the model clearly state that it is an SUV, however – its character signals for a sports coupe.

We are also wondering whether Seat is to make the future production model a plug-in hybrid such as the concept. The latter is charged from a domestic power point and has an electric range of 50 kilometres.
