When it Comes to a 60,000 Miles Ride, Skoda Superb Should be Your Choice

So, what we have here? The latest SKODA Superb and the European jury. Something else? Yes. After a complex and serious research, the jury team decided, that 2016 Skoda Superb is one of the most reliable and safe vehicles, when it comes to a course of three years or otherwise said, 60,000 miles.

2016 Superb was contesting along Ford Mondeo, Hyundai i40, Vauxhall Insignia, Citroen C5, Toyota Avensis, Peugeot 508 and Mazda 5. As you can see for yourself, honorable brands with one of their best models took place at the contest and no other, but the Superb won it. In fact, the Superb model has recently showed itself as one of the best models Skoda has ever created. And no wonder: Superb offers numerous safety features, reliable powerplant and overall excellent comfort. And let’s not forget the exterior design. It really looks like a vehicle from the future with all the straight and sharp lines.

The jury had strict criteria about the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions, money to value ratio, quality and reliability. Design and additional features were also taking part in the final scores for every vehicle.

The winning car, 2016 Skoda Superb comes with expressive design, lots of technologies and incredible spaciousness in the end of June. Furthermore, the first deliveries will begin in September. DMC Mercedes-Benz G-Class G88 Limited Edition Is Here!

DMC Mercedes-Benz G-Class G88 Limited Edition So, the German Luxury refiner DMC celebrated its 5th anniversary in Hong Kong. But it also made a gift to itself with the latest and greatest Limited Edition DMC G88 G-Class. In fact, DMC brand is known to refine some stylish beauties like Ferrari, McLaren and Rolls Royce. Now, strangely, the brand decided to tweak the brute force of the G-Class and it seems, the team made a wonderful job. Let’s check out what is going on here.

With this latest chapter, DMC demonstrates one more time how a beautiful vehicle can become a masterpiece in the hands of skilled craftsmen. Obviously the team went for creating some fresh and new ideas, but staying true to the original design at the same time. For example, the vented front hood really helps for that confident, yet stylish looks. Furthermore, it is created with dry carbon elements and not only brings some aesthetics, but also boosts the performance of the ventilation system.

So, despite the beautiful looks, the components still underline that aggressive and confident appearance of the vehicle. For example the cover for the spare-tire box is also made of dry carbon fiber and bears the DMC logo. The good people at DMC also added numerous more features for visual styling. For example, the vehicle is offered with 23″ to 25″ wheels, paired with Pirelli P-Zero tires. Furthermore, they are available in Monoblock or 3-PCS design, both of which are capable of changing the whole appearance of the vehicle. And the experience with Italian beauties also took place and with the G-Class. The DMC team incorporated numerous components and made so much tweaks, that the car really stands out in the crowd.

And along with the stylish appearance, the Limited Edition DMC G88 also demonstrates and powerful powertrain. The DMC guys almost doubled the 385 hp (285 kW) to the crushing 700 hp (515 kW).

And as you can see, the color combination, that is seen on the exterior and interior really makes difference, when the Limited Edition DMC G88 is compared to other tweaked G-Class vehicles. But to be honest, with all these yellow paintings it somehow reminds me of Chevrolet’s Bumblebee. However, yellow is not that bad and stays cool on the G88, right?

Honda Civic Tourer Took One More Trophy!

Honda’s Guinness world record for “lowest fuel consumption” is already a reality! And the tough guy this time is Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC. Do you remember, when we told you about Honda’s ambition to drive through all the European countries in order to demonstrate the efficiency of the vehicle? Yes? Well, it is already over. And the car with both the teammates are now home, celebrating the wonderful achievement.

Let us remind you, that Honda team had the ambition to create one of the most efficient powerplants today and to demonstrate it. How? By going throughout all the European countries and driving about 375 miles a day, for about 7.5 hours a day. The result? 1.6 i-DTEC recorded an average of 100.31 miles per gallon over 8, 387 miles in a 25 day drive across all the 24 EU countries.

As you might remember, behind the wheel of the already famous Honda Civic Tourer were the two members of Honda’s European Research & Development (R&D) team, Fergal McGrath and Julian Warren. In fact, these two gentlemen were with the highest ambitions to demonstrate what the 1.6 i-DTEC is capable of.

The team started the efficient journey from Aalst, Belgium on June, 1st and started the trip with a clockwise direction. They returned from where they have started on June, 25th. What they have recorded is exceeded efficiency of 74.3 mpg,which is more than 25%. Incredible, isn’t it?

Along with the strict rules of Guinness World Records organization, the team had to drive without any modifications or upgrades, or anything else, that will be considered as ‘lowering the toughness’ of the trip. There was even a rule, that the team had to refill the tank to the maximum every time, or else, it will be considered as a weight loss and sort of cheating. In fact, the whole idea was to show the original and unmodified vehicle in action.

Furthermore, Fergal McGrath and Julian Warren are not professional drivers, achieved some additional economy with simple, yet effective tricks. They didn’t drive aggressively, of course, they planned well their trip and they were anticipating and taking seriously the road conditions.

So, what else can we say? Congratulations to the brave team, Fergal McGrath and Julian Warren and the whole Honda crew, who are still working hard to deliver us the most comfortable, efficient and flexible vehicles.

2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross MCAS Has A New Champion

Ken Block is the this year’s champion of Red Bull Global Rallycross MCAS. With a lots of emotions and thrilling twists, Block, who also won the Fort Lauderdale opener season race, held off the rest of the racers for the victory.

In fact, this particular event is a special one, because it is the first to be held on an active military base. And furthermore, it is the largest course with its 0.99 miles in the history of Red Bull Rallycross. The track challenges with its deceptive turns and dynamics, while the seven-turn layout adds even more to the trill. This, along with the well-known formula: ten contestants and one winner. Race heaven.

Today was crazy up and down, so I’m really lucky to be here on top. I’d like to say thanks to everyone who came out—it was great to see everybody and sign autographs last night, and it’s great interacting with the military.

So what actually happened? All the audience witnessed how Sandell was confidently going for a clean victory, when an incident with Brian Deegan set a full restart. So, what happened next is already known. Block quickly grabbed the leading place and at the end he also grabbed and his fifth victory of his Supercar career.

Additionally, Dreyer & Renbold Racing beginner Alex Keyes won the CRC Lites event which happens to be the first in his carrer over Oliver Eriksson and DriftFish Motorsport’s Tanner Whitten. In fact, Whitten is now leading a intense championship battle with only 14 points separating the top four drivers.

2016 Honda Pilot Debuts With Almost Meaningful Spots

2016 Honda Pilot made its debut with an advertising campaign, that will try to convince us, that the room inside is spacious and comfortable, while the vehicle itself comes with numerous gadgets, ensuring it is ready for every situation. In fact, this is the first video. The second spot tries to convince us, that if you sing inside a vehicle, full of nervous people, they will instantly change their mood and will start to sing along. Strangely, when I sing inside a car, the driver kicks me out.

With a bit more details, the first spot, “The Incredible Pilot Elite”, uses a lot of examples to show how the car could deal with every problem and with every situation. In fact, the video is nicely done with lots of eye-catching effects. As you will see for yourself, the 30-second spot demonstrates the spaciousness of the vehicle and the different “smart” technologies, that are ready to serve the driver in every single moment.

The second spot is a bit longer, and it is called “Even Better”. As I said above, the plot takes place at some almost abandoned road with nervous family, tired of driving. Then one of the members starts to sing a well-known song, Weezer’s “Buddy Holly” and eventually all the passengers start to sing happily. In fact, the video clip is directed by the award-winning director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air, Juno), but personally I think this particular spot is not his greatest achievement. However, the video is interesting to watch, even though it doesn’t show anything meaningful.

Of course, this two video spots will not be the only ones, that Honda will use to advertise 2016 Pilot. There will be some more videos, rushed to numerous TV channels and of course, there will be and social media campaign.

So far so good. The two debut spots show almost nothing, but they are still interesting to watch. And we all hope, that 2016 Honda Pilot will be a vehicle, that Honda team will be proud with.

Nissan LEAF Continues the Fight With the Climage Changes

Nissan LEAF electric vehicle happens to be one of the most successful in brand’s recent years. Something more, Nissan Motor Ltd. today celebrates the incredible amount of sold units in the UK: more than 10,000. Originally launched in 2011, Nissan LEAF electric vehicle showed that electricity and quality can go hand-to-hand, without any serious problems. Oh, well.. the vehicle itself looks amazingly ugly with its strangely placed headlights and the stupidly smiling low grille, that together form a retarded and un-sexy face, but we are here for the functionality, right? And the environmentally friendly ideas, incorporated in vehicles..right?

However, since the last year, the number of LEAF sales is increased greatly. Do you remember, when the Nissan team said they will fight the global climate change? It seems, that they not only took it seriously, but they have some incredible success. Only for the first half of 2015, Nissan sold about 2, 964 LEAF electric vehicle units only in the UK. This means three things: People get more and more aware of what is happening to the Earth’s climate; people try to do something about it and lastly, people will do something about it, even if it means to buy an ugly vehicle. I am proud that the Nissan LEAF has played such a major role in changing perceptions of EV ownership and I am even prouder that the UK is now the number one market for LEAF sales in Europe.

And to expand even further the LEAF lineup, Nissan recently released Acenta+ model, which offers even wider list of goodies for its owners. There are numerous standard and additional features, as long with new trims. And as you know, Nissan is one of the most trustworthy vehicle manufacturer with more than 17,600 staff operations and about 675,000 units sold across UK, Spain and Russia. Fiat 500 Demonstrates One More Time Its Successful Formula

Fiat 500 has always been a fascinating and cute little vehicle. And since its introduction back in 1957 it started sort of a cult. It is cute, but at the same time offers some incredible dynamics. And this process hasn’t stopped until today. Almost sixty year have passed since the first 500 model and it still has a lot to demonstrate. So, let’s check out the latest Fiat 500 model.

The cutie is available in saloon and convertible and further offers three trim levels: Pop, Popstar and Lounge. It really is a special car with all these customization options, isn’t it? So, the first one, the Pop pack brigs seven airbags, Uconnect Radio 5″, some USB ports, controls on the steering wheel and special LED daytime lights. In fact, nothing special. Just the good old Fiat 500 with some modern standard features. Meanwhile, the Popstar trim bring manual climate control system, vintage-styled hubcaps and chrome-plated mirror domes. Still nothing so interesting. And the Lounge version, the last one, offers some sophisticated details, panoramic sunroof, 15″-inch ally rims, chrome-plated grille, Uconnect Radio 5″, touchscreen and smartphone integration. It looks like, that the Lounge is maybe the most interesting of the three package. It is still better, than nothing, right?

Drivetrain system

The latest Fiat 500 comes with 0.9 TwinAir engine, that offers the handy 85 or 105 hp (62 or 77 kW), a 1.2-Liter 69 hp (50kW) bi-fuel. In fact, the two-cylinder machine offers and one of the best efficiency rates and emissions: 90 g/km for the 85 hp version and 99 for the 105hp. So, what do you get at the end? A highly efficient vehicle with dynamic performance and not that interesting features. But it still will bring you wherever you like.

The latest Fiat 500 is refreshed and empowered, but it still stays that cute and special. The Fiat team one more time relied on the well-known success formula: aesthetics and technological innovations. Mercedes A-Class: Was That Facelift Really Necessary?

Mercedes A-Class receives some more attention and now it comes with interesting contours, dynamic lines, and even the unmistakable presence of Mercedes vehicle is now more noticeable. Customers will be granted with redesigned front bumper, refreshed LED headlamps and modified tail lights. In fact, the vehicle has received numerous upgrades and changes, that include suspension tuning, Adaptive Damping System, smart phone integration with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink systems. There is even an additional color: Elbaite green metallic. It all sounds good, but we all wonder was all this really necessary?

Now, the speical “Motorsport Edition” comes with eye-catching details like the nicely done elegant air vent surrounds and the topstitching in petrol green. And when it comes to drivetrain system, the A-Class has now an fuel efficiency “champion”, who is indeed the 109-hp (80 kW) BlueEFFICIENCY Edition, that offers consumption, measured at 3.5L/100 km and CO2 emissions of 89g/km. Along with the stylish looks, the LED High Performance headlamps now offer and safer night rides, thanks to the white beam light, that imitates daylight almost successfully at low energy consumption.

Mercedes A-Class has also received some additional technology extras. For example, the steering characteristics can be adjusted with the special DYNAMIC SELECT system. There are a total of four modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco and Individual. There is definitely a big range of customization and I am sure, that everyone will find the perfect mode for himself. Furthermore, the models, equipped with DYNAMIC SELECT also come with lowered suspension and Adaptive Damping System. In fact, the DYNAMIC SELECT, if paired with the Adaptive Damping System can enable further options and modes, but this time for the suspension system. Imagine how cool is that: with a press of a button you control the handling stiffness and the damping dynamics. Cool.

And as said above, the Mercedes A-Class now comes with additional technology gadgets in order to incorporate smartphone systems. The mentioned Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink Infotainment system allow smartphone connections and additional features. If I have to be honest, I should say, that it was about time Mercedes incorporated such technologies in its latest release vehicles. And along with the smartphone incorporation, the A-Class now also offers and ambient lightning, that creates cozy and smooth atmosphere. The system offers 12 different colors and 5-stage dimming. How cool is that?

So, at the beginning I wasn’t that interested in the latest Mercedes A-Class, but I have to admit, that the vehicle really has a lot to offer. What do you think?

2016 Mazda3: Too Good to be True or Good Enough for the Price

2016 Mazda3 and all it has to offer. Now, one of the most popular vehicle brands with one of its most popular models released detailed information about what will owners get for the upcoming 2016 model. As always Mazda offers high quality, versatility and good price. Or maybe it is just one more annoying marketing strategy? Decide for yourself.

So, let’s start with the drivetrain system. Mazda3 will be available with two optional powerplants. The first is a 155 hp (113kW) SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter machine and the second is a 184 hp (135kW) SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter. We have already told you about the SKYACTIV powerplants, but the G-Series is still to be tested. Furthermore, both engines will be paired to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox. It’s a good thing, that Mazda team offers such a wide choice.

And one more thing. The Mazda team promises to equip the vehicle with premium features and high-quality elements. There will be some goodies like adaptive high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights and Mazda Radar Cruise Control. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about KODO: Soul of Motion design.

The only thing we fear is what will happen to the overall quality with all these numerous features and that nice price. We know Mazda for its high-quality components, but we also known, that there are surprises, waiting in every corner.

So, let’s continue with the goodies. All 2016 Mazda3 models will include backup camera, which is only the beginning of what the standard equipment has to offer. Furthermore, it also offers power windows, power door locks, 16-inch steel wheels, automatic folding mirrors, adjustable steering wheel and air conditioning.

For the upcoming 2016 lineup there is a special Preferred Equipment pack, that grants owners with 16-inch alloy wheels, bright beltline trim, premium cloth-trimmed seats, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Mazda3 Touring Pack, on the other hand offers 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, fog lights, BSM, RCTA, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, moonroof, automatic headlights, shift knob and three-spoke steering wheel with contrast stitching. But it gets even better. Wait and see!

2016 Mazda3 Touring Popular trim offers auto-dimming interior mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose nine-speaker surround system, Centerpoint 2, AutoPilot 2, SiriusXM satellite radio and a CD-player. I have only one question. With all these high-tech radio systems and internet connections, why do you need a CD-player? However, the more is better. Or at least we hope so.

2016 Mazda3 will also be offered with Grand Touring Pack, that grants owners with leatherette seating, navigation system, heated seats, xenon HID headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Furthermore, the pack also includes i-ELOOP, the special system, that captures kinetic energy, and the full suite of i-ACTIVSENSE, which includes: Mazda Radar Cruise Contro, Smart City Brake Support, High Beam Control, Lane Departure Warning System and Forward Obstruction Warning.

So, what else can we say about 2016 Mazda3? It looks good at first sight (just look at it) and promises some wonderful features. Hopefully every single promise for quality and functionality will happen to be true.

HyperBlue Models By Subaru Are Ready for 2016!

Subaru of America Inc. finally announced what they got for us in the upcoming 2016. For example HyberBlue Limited will be available for BRZ and WRX STI modes. Furthermore, HyperBlue vehicle will be refreshed with special exterior paint. But sadly, production for the 700 WRX STI and 500 BRZ will be limited in US. So, let’s check out some more details.

HyperBlue WRX STI Series

Coming with the powerful 305 horsepower (224 kW) turbocharged BOXER engine, the WRX STI HyperBlue helped to pioneer the sporty, yet compact segment with some rally-based drivetrain system, along with the special Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Yep, complicated as it sounds. Hopefully, engineers at Subaru know what they are doing. Furthermore, the standard equipment includes Active Torque Vectoring.

HyperBlue And for 2016 Subaru team will grant customers with some more trims. For example, the HuberBlue trim offers blue stitching to the standard seats (which is a kind of stupid idea), leather wrapped steering whel, manual transmission shifter boot, and cute carpeted floor mats. In my opinion it is not that bad, is it?

The HybperBlue WRX STI will also show its shiny and fresh 18-inch BBS Black Alloy wheels. SUBARU STARLINK 7.0 Multimedia Navigation System also comes as a feature with this trim. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. You will also deal with 9 Harman/Kardon speakers, connected to a 440-watt amplifier. Tasty.

Furthermore, the WRX STI will be geared with a special and upgraded 6-speed manual geearbox and a special 3.5-inch central LCD screen, that gives information about different functions. Refreshed and ready to demonstrate its power. That’s what I’m talking about.

The BRZ will make some changes and will try to go back from where it started. For 2016 the BRZ HyperBlue Series will offer an overall sporty design, low weight, low center of gravity and improved handling. And of course, the vehicle will offer some wonderful power: 200 hp (147kW) 2.0-BOXER powerplant. Nice, huh?

The exterior continues the well-known affair with 17-inch black alloy wheels, black glossy badging and black finish mirrors. There are also numerous more carbon-fiber elements, just like the dash panel.

From the exterior, we move to the interior, where the HyperBlue BRZ welcomes us to a leather-wrapped interior, blue stitching lines, leather-wrapped wheel and nicely done color scheme.

And now the hi-tech goodies. You get STARLINK 6.2″ Multimedia System, AM/FM stereo, HD Radio, Bluetooth, hands-free connectivity, iPod control, iTunes Tagging. But wait, there is more! Aha and Pandora systems are also included, along with Stitcher, Calendar, Music Player. And many more.

Kia Sportage Axis Limited Edition: is it That Limited?

Kia Sportage Axis Edition is here and it is limited to only 1,200 units. The latest Kia car is restyled and equipped with additional gadgets and yells: ‘come and buy me, I have a lot to offer!’ So, we will tell you if you have to do it or not. So, let’s see what it has to offer.

The vehicle comes with two engine variations and improved overall drivetrain system.

Kia Sportage Axis will be offered with the 1.6-liter GFi direct-injection petrol unit, that produces a total of 133 hp (97kW) and 165 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h (111 mph). The other variation is the 1.7-liter common-rail turbodiesel, that offers a bit lower power output, measured at 114 hp (83 kW) and 260 Nm, which is not that bad. It offers a top speed of 196 km/h (197 mph) and acceleration of 11.9 seconds from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph)

Both engines offer front-wheel-drive and will be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. The Kia Sportage Axis also delivers a special Stop&Go (ISG) system, that saves fuel and has reduced CO2 emissions. Or at least engineers are telling so. But you got the point: two options and not that bad output.

Kia Sportage Axis comes with two trims: ‘2’ and ‘3’, but also includes numerous more goodies and redesigned components. To be honest, the vehicle looks good. Really good. With the elegant and tight lines, the Kia Sportage demonstrates confidence and style.

The front of the Kia meets you with black gloss radiator grille with not so funny smile and LED headlights, that continue the stylish, yet muscular affair. Furthermore, the roof-mounted ‘shark’s fin’ antenna delivers some premium looks.

The Lightning pack also includes automatic headlights and electric folding mirrors, along with LED indicators.
