    Goodwood Festival of SpeedGoodwood Festival of Speed. One of the biggest festivals in the motorsport world. And now, hours before the official opening, the Moving Motor Show prepares with full force for the event. In fact, the Show is presented by the AA in association with the Telegraph. And as you know, there are thousands of fans, that in 2015 will not only see 21 new models, but will also participate in the record of the biggest crowd, since the first Goodwood Festival of Speed took place back in 1993.

    And there was also a surprise for the most impatient visitors. The Earl of March opened the event with the latest Mazda MX-5. As you know, we have told you a lot about it and there is a reason why. The MX-5 is one of the most anticipated cars for this year and took a ride up the famous 1.6-mile Hillclimb road.

  • Golf Models with BlueMotion Powerplant Units Will be Available in UK

    golf modelsGolf models will be ordered for UK with their new highly-efficient engines. The hatchback, Estate and SV models are now powered with the three-cylinder 1.0-liter 115 hp (84kW) turbocharged BlueMotion engine. Furthermore, the Golf models will be offered and with the special DSG automatic gearbox. With these changes, the vehicles will have numerous economy benefits, while still deliver some good performance. The first delivers of the Golf models in UK will be in September.

    We have told you already, that the heart of the BlueMotion engines is the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged TSI powerplant from the EA211 series. With the 200 Nm, the BlueMotion engine is one of the best choices in its class.

This wonderful achievement is possible, thanks to the substantial engine improvements and the aerodynamic tweaks. What tweaks you ask? The chassis is lowered by 15 mm, the radiator grille is now restyled, while the underfloor panels and the rear spoilers also deserved some attention. With all these upgrades the vehicle’s Cd value is now 0.28, reduced from 0.29

    The Golf models, geared with the BlueMotion will also include lightweight aluminum and compact construction. This helps the Golf models to be offered with overall 15 kg lower weight. Furthermore, the TSI BlueMotion is also geared with a toothed belt, which reduces friction with about 30 per cent. The more, the better, right? And unlike the diesel BlueMotion, Golf models, geared with the TSI BlueMotion also offer and additional trim: Match. It adds additional seven airbags, Automatic Post Collision Braking System, PreCrash System, cruise control, Start/Stop function, and special driver alert. And all the Golf models, purchased with the Match trim also receive special TSI BlueMotion 16-inch “Dover” alloy wheels.

  • Chevrolet Cruze And the Ecotech Powerplant In-Depth

    2016 Chevrolet Cruze2016 Chevrolet Cruze will be geared with General Motor’s latest and greatest Ecotech small-displacement engine lineup. The new engines offer easier to build parts and of course some wonderful performance features, along with improved efficiency.

    And now, the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will be offered in North America with the Ecotec 1.4-liter unit with direct injection. The powerplant offers GM-estimated 40 mpg on the highway and is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. And the stop/start technology is included as a standard feature. In fact, there is an optional Hydra-Matic6T3 six-speed automatic transmission. It offers smooth and fast shifts. And it also boosts the efficiency of the vehicle. Cool, isn’t it?

    Furthermore, the Ecotec 1.4 has a total output of 153 hp (113 kW) and 240 Nm of torque. It will be offered along with the 1.5-Liter naturally aspirated model, that brings 113 hp (84 kW) and 146 Nm of torque. And it will be matched with a five-speed manual transmission.

    And it is expected, that Chevrolet will add a completely  redesigned engine in 2017. it will include the B20-capable 1.6 diesel unit, that is already proven in Europe.

    The first thing a technician will notice about the engine is the lightweight. The unit is built with aluminum blocks, matched with an aluminum bedplate, which not only enhances the strength, but also lowers the vibrations of the vehicle.   • Ford Motor Offers Interesting Car and Experience-Exchange Program

    fordFord Motor Credit Company today announced more good news for all the Ford lovers. The team created a special car-share program, that will ensure the customers to rent out their vehicle to other drivers. So far, so good. Let’s check out what Ford brand has in mind.

    The company invited about 12,000 London Ford customers to take place in the scheme, that is expected to give some extra income to owners. In fact, further 14,000 customers in US will also be able to join the car-exchange program.

    Now, Ford Credit pushes the innovative minds in the brand to create a highly-efficient and valuable service, that will meet all the demands and requirements of customers. In fact, the brand will work with easyCar Club in London and for the US with Getaround. This means, that all the customers, who want to take part in the exchange programs can search for news in official sites.

    Share-Car, Bangalore, India: Here Ford works with Zoomcar, that will test the sharing concepts on Indian land.     Dynamic Shuttle, New York and London: The program will offer point-to-point pick-up and drop-off on-demand. The project focuses on the better understood social trends and people’s thinking about the whole car-sharing project.

  • General Motors Continues To Expand with New Vehicle Program

    GM to produce new modelGeneral Motors is ready to invest $245 million and expand with 300 working places at the Orion Assembly plant in order to support the launch of an completely new vehicle program, that will be different in any aspect than everything the brand has done until today. In fact, the investment in Orion is about $962 million since the UAW and General Motors cooperated to reopen the plant, idled in 2010.

    This latest investment comes in just seven months after the announcement of additional $160 million to launch Chevrolet’s legendary Bolt EV, which is expected to be the one of the best electric vehicles ever created.

    In fact, Orion has incredible ways of motivating employees to offer numerous solution to bran’s problems. For example, there is a special team, that recently developed a special process monitoring tool for robotic paint applications. This robot now alerts operators to potential and dangerous failures before they actually happen. Clever. And remember, this is  only one example of the politics in Orion.

    As you might know, since June 2009, General Motors has made investments in US of about $17.8 billion. And about $12.4 billion of these have come since 2011 UAW-GM National Agreement. And in total there are 6,250 work places opened.

  • Ram Stays the Leader in “King of the Hill” Challenge

    Ram continues the “King of the Hill” heavy-duty battle with the introduction of the 2016 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups. The confident leaders now continue to expand and upgrade. Furthermore, the Ram 2500 is a leader in this class battle for economy with the special 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 engine. The unit provides 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft.

    And now Ram engineers created a special hard-hitting fuel delivery with a turbo boost calibrator fo the 6.7-Liter I-6 diesel, that comes with extra 35 lb-ft of torque. The improvement Ram’s title from 565 to 900 lb-ft of torque. This number is actually achieved for the first time in a mass-production vehicle.

    As you know, the previous heavy-duty truck winner was the 3500 model at 30,000 pounds. But now the 2016 Ram 3500 raises that stat to 31,210, which makes further distancing rival by more than two tons. And in order to handle the increased capacity, Ram engineers added 4 more bolts to the rear axle ring gear and now they are 16. This means, that the truck can easily handle the new 11.8-inch axle. And the heavy duty materials and stronger components ensure a long-term durability.
    Big, strong, and capable of dominating every terrain. What more would people want from such a vehicle?

  • Lexus Unveils Another Sporty Concept Vehicle

    conceptLexus prepares for the Time Attack competition at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Something more, the luxurious brand will demonstrate the special and unique RC F GT Concept. The vehicle is especially designed and based on the IS F CCS-R model, that competed at Pikes Peak back in 2013. The event itself is really popular and in its core is a race battle with the clock. But along with the best times, the judges will also choose the winner and for his abilities. Reaction, confidence and smooth ride are also part of the competition.

    But the RC F GT Concept is not only a competition vehicle. It also represents a pivotal piece of the Lexus F, along with the upcoming GT3 program. Pretty similar to the IS F CCS-R units, whose role in motorsport helped the development of key components, the GT Concept program will continue to improve the F brand’s mission. This will also allow Lexus engineers to try out some interesting ideas, that might happen to be the right ones.

    The concept itself

    With a focused race attitude, the RCF GT comes with numerous changes, compared to the street model. The Concept weights about 800 lbs. But it also retains the same engine and transmission. And with the concept vehicle, engineers can test the engine, transmission and chassis and can think of some changes and tuning ideas, that can make the car even better.
