  • 2015 Toyota GT86 Is Here!

2015-Toyota-GT86-THUMB2015 Toyota GT86 is here and it is showing-off its perfectly enhanced aerodynamics for the new model year. It will offer even better handling and stability due to the optimization of suspension’s rigidity and shock absorbers. In addition, the changes are also evident in the interior, which now features new instrument panel finish. An entirely new element is the shark-fin type antenna that comes to enhance the aerodynamics and deliver a bolder look.

The GT86 was officially introduced in 2012 and made a big furor. Wisely enough, Toyota is continuing the development of the car. The foundation of the upgrade is the more rigid fixation of the front suspension and the rear shock absorbers.

The rework of shock absorbers provide more stable damping and improved friction control, thus delivering smoother and communicative handling. Body-roll is reduced and the steering feel is sharper than before.

Another exclusive change is featured on the inside of the GT86. It is the new carbon-fibre motif on the dashboard insert. This not only gives more contemporary appearance of the car, but also hints to future utilization of the popular material.

On the outside, another introduction was made. It is the shark-fin antenna, which has been adopted in order to enhance the looks and aerodynamics of the car. The 2015 model year update also features a new pearl-white and silver paint finishes.

2015 Toyota GT86 will be available in dealerships only throughout Europe staring this summer.

  • Pure Sports Feeling: Dotz Shift Toyota GT86

The iconic Toyota GT86, the latest version of which was introduced back in 2012, has fallen in the hands of the German based tuners at Dotz Shift. They decided to enhance their dynamic pearl white version of the car, thus making it delivering the purest sports feeling.

As a reminder, this Toyota is driven by a 200 hp (147 kW) 2L flat engine which ensures its Japanese-racing qualities. Regarding the refinement, the specialists have equipped the car with TRD body kit that adds onto the architecture of the model.

Precisely, the kit consists of a front and rear spoiler, a 4-pipe rear silencer and Eibach springs. Next, they have also given the GT86 a set of new shoes to run on, namely the Dotz Shift shiny black and polished 19 inch wheels.

In fact, they are unique and feature rim with the star pattern formed by seven slender, edgy double spokes and deep lip. They are also lightweight because the recessed center reduces the wheel’s mass. The wheels are also offered in numerous ABE applications from 15 to 19 inch.

  • Toyota GT86 Real Deal Campaign [VIDEO]

toyotagt86-THUMBHave you seen the film The Thirteenth Floor, which came out in 1999? Well if you have, then the new Real Deal advertising campaign by Toyota will “sound” very familiar to you.

This is a multi-million pound advertising strategy for the new Toyota GT86 Sports Coupe. It was created by Saatchi & Saatchi London and celebrates the brand’s return to its sports car heritage and reflects the rave reviews the GT86 has received for its authentic driving experience.

In summary, the Real Deal ad tells the story of a CGi man who has become tired of living in an artificial world. Some of the world’s best animators were involved in the making of the video. The computer game-style city is the living area of the animated hero and in addition is one of “pixels, pretence and driver assist”.

The hero goes to the underworld in order to find a way to feel alive. There he finds the new Toyota GT86. With its help he breaks free of his unsatisfying, inauthentic existence and escape into the real world. Take a look to the video below and see how he does it!

  • The GT 86, Toyota’s Headline Car of 2012

The car Toyota fans have been waiting for is finally here. The GT 86 was announced to a lot of hype way back in 2009 at the Tokyo Motor Show, and since then the Japanese automaker (in partnership with Subaru) has kept us cooling our heels waiting to drive its fastest accelerating sports car.

Hailed for its incredible 1239kg weight, the GT 86 still manages to pack a powerhouse under the hood. Equipped with the Toyota Subaru “D-4S” boxer engine, which is a 2.0-litre engine that accelerates from 0 to 62 in 7.7 seconds, the Toyota also has plenty of cruising speed, reaching up to 137mph. Although it probably won’t win awards for its powertrain, the GT86’s performance is totally satisfactory considering its visual appeal and trappings.

Built to classic coupe proportions, this Toyota has a long bonnet and low roofline, with sporty touches like the tailgate spoiler, twin-exit exhausts and contoured roofline. Taking design cues from the earlier FT-HS concept, which was a hybrid sports car concept released in 2007, the GT 86 certainly looks the part of an aerodynamic behemoth.

With the nickname of 2+2, and despite its “impressively comfortable” front seats, there’s also a little legroom in the back for passengers, although it’s probably a better fit for kids. Standard interior features are impressive and include dual-zone air-conditioning, leather wrapping on the steering wheel and gear lever, keyless entry and dash-mounted touchscreen with navigation and entertainment.

The Coupe car joins a line-up of eco-friendly cars this year that includes the Prius Plug-in, the Prius+ and the Yaris hybrid, all of which are set to hit showrooms sometime from mid-2012.
