    Rolls Royce Wraith Side VIew

The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars launches a film, named “And the World Stood Still”, that is accepted into the British Film Institute National Archive – the world’s biggest collection of film and TV. To celebrate this, Rolls-Royce created a Wraith that is inspired by the film. The film itself introduces the Wraith, which is the most powerful and technologically advanced vehicle ever created by Rolls-Royce.

The shoot is taken in a secret place in Barcelona with special 100 SLR cameras that bring the so-called “Timeslice” sequence. The movie team shows incomparable knowledge and skills beyond measure in the cinematography art. There is even an additional behind the scenes film, specially released after countless fan requests.

Actually, this isn’t the first Rolls-Royce movie. The brand takes role in film making for many decades. Some of their best works include Goldfinger (1964), The Yellow Rolls-Royce (1964), The Great Gatsby (1976) and many others. And now, with the “And the World Stood Still”, Rolls-Royce team is back to show us incredible artwork, unbelievable views of the car and overall movie experience never seen before.

As it comes to the Wraith itself, it really is the most powerful Rolls-Royce up to date. The exterior is revised and the wheelbase are wider, the engine is a twin turbo V12, that delivers 624 hp (465 kW) and goes from 0 to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds (0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds). The lines and body of the Wraith has something similar to the 1930s film noir, that gives that really unique style and expression.

The Wraith “Inspired by Film” Special Edition will debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and could be ordered worldwide right after the show.

  • Rolls-Royce Unveils the Exclusive Suhail Collection

2015 Rolls-Royce Suhail Collection is the first Collection to be offered on Phantom, Ghost and Wraith models. And if you wonder where the name has come from, it is inspired by one of the brightest star constellations in the sky carrying the same name. It actually celebrates the work of the Arabic mathematician, astronomer and physicist Ibn al-Haitham. He has been considered as the father of theoretical physics. Or in other words, this is the person who greatly influenced the Western scientific thinking.

The 10th Century scientist took inspiration by this star just by observing it. His best known work is the Book of Optics (Kitab al-Manazir), which was translated into Latin in the 13th century. It has influenced a number of key Western scientific thinkers such as the famous Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo Galilei. He is also the first scientist to realize that light enters the eye rather than leaving it.

This Suhail Rolls-Royce celebrates his influence the scientist had on Eastern and Western science. The exterior of the lineup of vehicles is inspired by astronomy and features unique moonstone pearl colour. This paint scheme evokes colour of the stars at night.

At the same time, the Suhail star emblem completes aTurchese Blue coachline inspired by the colour of the night sky when Suhail is visible. Inside, the same design theme is continued via the combination of Crem é Light leather with Turchese accents. They are framed by a Navy Blue instrument panel top and carpets.

We can also see Suhail star emblems that are worked into the marquetry on the Ash Burr wood fascia. Only the Wraith and Phantom models include a Starlight Headliner. At last, the luxury cabin is also adorned by Bespoke clock in colour matched to the interior. If you look carefully you will see that on its face are depicted the Suhail Ursa Minor and Major constellations.

  • Novitec’s Spofec Refines the Refined Rolls-Royce Wraith

Spofec-Rolls-Royce-Wraith-THUMBDo you remember Novitec’s Spofec Rolls-Royce Wraith? The company has refined the car luxury further and with custom components, 22-inch wheels and lowered suspension. But this is not everything: there is also carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system and more importantly – boost for the engine, which now produces more than 700 horsepower. Spofec’s stainless-steel sports exhaust system on the other hand features electronic sound management.

To go into details, tuning company’s newly developed front carbon fiber bumper replaces the production one. Thanks to this it not only gives the Rolls-Royce more distinctive face, but also minimizes negative lift on the front axle. Two front flaps upgrade the grille in the bumper and make the car with more muscular appearance.

Next, the rocker panels are also new and they come to ensure lower and longer visual stance. The stylized air extractors behind the front wheel arches and the sweeping light-catching contour complement the sporty look.

At the rear we see carbon spoiler and new rear bumper as well as spoiler lip on the trunk. The mentioned wheels are under the designation SP1. They are with ten double spokes offset in two planes and come in sizes 9Jx22 at the front and 10.5Jx22 on the rear axle. The wheels are available in silver, matte black or titanium and are wrapped in Pirelli performance rubbers in sizes 265/35 ZR 22 and 295/30 ZR 22 for the front and rear, respectively.

The new air suspension features a special control module which lowers the ride height of the car by 40 millimeters at speeds below 140 km/h. At higher speeds the body automatically reverts to its original level.

In addition, the carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system includes vented discs that measure 405 x 30 and 395 x 38 millimeters respectively offers total weight savings of 38 kilograms.

What also has to be mentioned is the 6.6-liter V12 engine which received a boost and now involves the integration of a processor-controlled plug-and-play N-TRONIC module into the engine electronics. The result is a maximum power output of 717 hp (527 kW) and 986 Nm (728 lb-ft).

This of course means faster acceleration which in this case is measured at 4.2 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint. The top speed remains limited to 250 km/h. At last, the stainless-steel sports exhaust systems saves up to five kilograms and features electronic sound management which can be remotely controlled from the cockpit.

  • Rolls-Royce debuts the Ghost Series II in China

    Rolls-Royce-Ghost-II_thumbRolls-Royce-Ghost-II_651

The acclaimed British automaker Rolls-Royce has taken advantage of the ongoing 2014 Chengdu Motor Show and has unveiled the highly anticipated Ghost Series II to the vast Chinese market. Customers, living in China and the neighboring countries, can now make use of the latest industry technologies from Rolls-Royce and other companies and join the rank of leading businessmen and entrepreneurs who drive this premium-class vehicle.

During the unveiling of the Ghost Series II at Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center (CCNICEC), Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ Regional Director for Mainland China Henrik Wilhemsmeyer said, “The Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is the ultimate entrepreneur’s business tool. Following the worldwide success of its predecessor, I am confident that this re-designed and updated Rolls-Royce will continue to attract increasing numbers of new customers to the marque, in particular business entrepreneurs seeking an oasis of calm in a frenetic business world.”

The Ghost Series II brings to China the same looks and technologies so you can expect to find re-sculpted LED headlights encircled by daytime running lights that lend Ghost Series II a more dynamic visual signature and blend perfectly with revised surface treatments to the front of the car. A tapered ‘wake channel’ on the bonnet, emanating from the Spirit of Ecstasy, evokes the sight of a jet’s vapour trail or wake of a fast luxury yacht and hints at the car’s dynamism. Subtle re-sculpting of Ghost’s bumpers creates a stronger stance and a sense of extra width and height, whilst the contemporary aesthetic is further enhanced with the addition of chrome inserts to the front air intakes, which now feed more air cooling to the front brakes. In addition, the famous waft line has been re-designed on Ghost Series II to lean further forwards emphasizing the car’s effortless dynamism.

“As a design statement, Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II continues to transcend time,” comments Giles Taylor, Director of Design for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.  “This is ensured by the deft treatment of features such as the new headlights, the new wake channel on the bonnet and surfacing that lend the car a more dynamic, purposeful stance and hint at the cutting edge technology inside. I am very pleased with the overall sense of design harmony.”

The Ghost Series II delivers on the inside too – the vehicle combines luxury, technology and connectivity that include on-board Wi-Fi for available connections to the rest of the world so that you can do your business anywhere while Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) ensures that the car automatically adapts to its surroundings augmenting the drive experience. Updates to navigation systems and the car/user interface ensures accessing Ghost’s features remains an effortless experience, whilst optional Bespoke Audio – the most exhaustively engineered and finest audio system in automotive history – brings new levels of aural satisfaction to passengers.

There’s no information on the engine range and the pricing of the new vehicle but we are sure the car will have more than enough power under the hood. As to pricing there’s no way its price is going to be low but Rolls-Royce is Rolls-Royce after all.
