  • Vilner team revives a special Rolls-Royce. Check it out!

2018 Vilner Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead CoupeWe do know that Rolls-Royce machines are still the only symbol of luxury and refinement. However, the arch enemy of all that is beautiful and enduring manages to harm even the pinnacle of motorsport industry. Yes, we are talking about time. Time has managed to prove that Rolls-Royce is the king, but has also proven that even kings tend to get rusty and fragile at time to time. And this is why Vilner’s latest project circulates around a 10-year-old Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe.

2018 Vilner Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Trying to preserve and revive the wooden inserts and fine-leather covers, Vilner team has done tons of work in the cockpit – tens of square meters of fine leather has found its new place in the cabin, along with small details as stitching and adding more functionality. Now, the new leather cover manages to work better with the heating and ventilating of the seats. Cool!

2018 Vilner Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

In fact, the design team has spent the majority of time for the wooden components. Every single wooden part has been unmounted, triple varnished and polished until shiny. And only then it was once again mounted to the cabin. And what has managed to impress us even further is the rear part of the cabin – the place where the folding roof is actually hidden, when not used.

In terms of exterior styling, Vilner’s client has chosen the Cherry burst cover. Part of the 44, 000 combination choices, the owner has decided to retain the vehicle elegant and stylish. And as you think about it, there is something even British in this color scheme. And because of this choice, Vilner has installed Cherry burst seatbelts. Sweet.

The final verdict? The sexy Rolls-Royce will continue to bring joy and pleasure to the driver and passengers for many more years. Thanks to Vilner!

  • Should we be excited about the announced Rolls Royce Cullinan project?

2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan Some time ago, about three years from now, Rolls-Royce managers announced that the brand would create a vehicle that is high-bodied, highly capable of tackling down any road and off-road challenge and still maintain that luxurious presence and features.

Well, it is almost here. And it is called Cullinan. The project I mean. Of course it is highly likely that the model would bear the same name. Also what we know so far is that there were numerous tests executed and the vehicle was driven on different terrains: deserts, ice and snowy roads, muddy roads and everything in between. And by gaining results, the designers and engineers have managed to craft and shape the machine in such a way that it would be worthy of the name Rolls Royce.

    2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan

However, what we wonder is whether such a model would still be as classy and presentable as its siblings. After all, Rolls Royce vehicles are known for their super-premium appearance and being choice number one for influential people. And here’s where we thing that making a sporty all-terrain machine would have an impact on this image that the brand has created ever since its establishment. After all, it is not that classy to go for a drift in a rainy day, nor it is presentable to push the limits of the vehicle in order to score the best time possible.

However, we stay opened for representations and new ideas. And of course, we are eager to see the final result.

  • Meet the “John Lennon Phantom V” and see why it is still famous today!

1965 Rolls-Royce The John Lennon Phantom VAs it comes to parties, Rolls-Royce team knows how it’s done! Recently the luxury brand announced that there will be great celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Brand. So far so good. However, the most interesting thing is that a special vehicle will take place: John Lennon’s own Rolls-Royce Phantom V. As you might know, this machine is famous for two things: the first one is self-explanatory: it was the personal vehicle of a living legend. Secondly, this car has undergone a rather colorful transformation. The expression of this car really screams something like “Bring back the 70’s!” or “Hippies are great!”

At this moment the vehicle is owned by the Royal British Columbia Museum in Canada and is part of “The Great Eight Phantoms” – this is a special exhibition that takes place at the Bonhams on New Bond Street – the place that Lennon visited regularly in the 1960’s.

    1965 Rolls-Royce The John Lennon Phantom V

So, let’s see one more time why this Phantom became of the “Great Eight” family!

    “The John Lennon Phantom V”

    1965 Rolls-Royce The John Lennon Phantom V

3rd of June, 1965 is a special one: it is the day that Edward H White left the capsule of his Gemini 4 and became the first American in space and the day than John Lennon received his own Phantom V in Valentine Black. A rather stylish and expressive vehicle. However, as an eccentric person, Mr. Lennon wanted a bit more, as it came to styling.

As a symbol of these expressive 60’s and 70’s rock vibes, he has heavily customized the vehicle. First of all, he reshaped the rear seat into a double bed, placed a TV, telephone and refrigerator and a special “floating” record player and of course, as you might have expected from a rock star – a mighty audio system. Cool, right?

    1965 Rolls-Royce The John Lennon Phantom V

However, something was missing: an expressive exterior body finish! A few years after the purchase, in April 1967, Lennon covered up this mistake. He asked for a new paint job. And god, he got one! The styling team has done something astonishing: the revised Phantom V showcased a true psychedelic rock appearance: it shines with numerous colors, but one is dominant: the yellow. We do like these flowers here and there and the overall Romany scroll theme. And of course, the zodiac symbols on the roof remain our favorite feature.

SEE ALSO: Rolls Royce Team Tells Us More About the Future Of Luxury!

Of course, Lennon has used this vehicle. A lot. He even gave shared it with his fellow rock mates from The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and The Moody Blues. And as every good thing on this world, he finally got tired of this relationship and called it a day in 1977.

This is what we call a stylish vehicle with rocker’s soul. Definitely expressive and definitely an unique unit, this Phantom can be seen one more time on New Bond Street from July 29 to August, 2nd. Enjoy! And don’t forget to share some pictures with us!

Rolls-Royce has shown it at PebbleBeach

Did you remember the one-colored Dawn by Rolls-Royce, which was revealed last week? If yes, then you are probably a fan of the luxury brand, and you’ll be keen on another interesting project. This one-off Bespoke Phantom Drophead Coupé Beverly Hills Edition (kind of long name, I know) has been previewed this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

As you can see it features as vivid as the sun color paint scheme inside and out. The unique shade is called Orange Metallic and is integrated in the iconic for Rolls-Royce bi-tone design philosophy. The color is also featured on the wheel-centers, providing even a catching appearance.

This romantic open-top motoring is continued on the inside, where only the finest of the natural materials have been used. Precisely, the hand-stitched Mandarin leather contrasts perfectly the polished Piano Black veneers, creating a rather bold display of Rolls-Royce luxury. The same theme is featured for the floor mats, too.

This is a nice way for Rolls-Royce to say farewell to the entire Phantom range, because it will be discontinued in its current form by the end of this year. But don’t worry because the next-generation is scheduled for appearance in 2018.

Customer commissions Bespoke Blue Dawn with contrasting Mandarin interior

Did we miss something last week? Probably a lot, but the most intriguing luxurious vehicle, which was announced by Rolls-Royce is their Bespoke Blue Dawn Cabriolet model, which is a one-off vehicle specifically made in the taste of a particular millionaire client. By the way, this is a precedent in company’s history. If you didn’t get it already, you might wonder why. Well, here is the answer.

This particular Dawn is actually covered by a single unique paint color… not by two tones. And this happens for the very first time for the brand. Whatever one calls this, the customer will get only the striking blue exterior.

SEE ALSO: Rolls-Royce Nautical Wraith is the Best Luxurious Car You’ll See Today

What is more, the vehicle has been crafted as the future driver desired it down to the book-matched open-pore veneers on the deck. And have you spotted the callipers and body-colored wheel centers?

Besides the one-color exterior, the customer has wished for a very contrasting one color interior. It comes in Mandarin shade, thus providing bold and enticing contrast to the Bespoke blue. The personalization continues with the two-tone steering wheel and Bespoke Rosewood fascia.

The graceful goddess on the hood of the car has been gold-plated and lit from below. It will lead the way to this remarkable Dawn, powered by the 6.6-liter, twin-turbo V12 motor. The engine produces 571 horsepower.

  • Vitesse and Audessus offer some neat improvements for Rolls-Royce vehicles

2016 Rolls-Royce Bengala Automotive and Vitesse Audessus ProjectOne of the most popular premium design house, Bengala Automotive and the US-based Vitesse AuDessus have launched a special carbon-fiber program for contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles. Sweet.

What is so special about this project is that there will be only few lucky units from the Phantom, Wraith, Dawn and Ghost lineups that will benefit from the lightweight body procedures. In fact, the vehicles will be geared with special carbon matrix, similar to the Forged Carbon Fiber, created by Lamborghini and Callaway. As you may know, this kind of fabric allows some neat aesthetics, combined with numerous aerodynamic and performance improvements. Cool, right?

2016 Rolls-Royce Bengala Automotive and Vitesse Audessus Project

What will also be included is the forged carbon fiber wheels. They are lighter and denser than titanium and do come with vast advantage over their metal alloy brothers. These forged wheels are also quicker to manufacture and it is even possible to make a full and functional set in minutes!

  • Rolls-Royce with a ‘dark and edgy’ presence on the famous Hillclimb

Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge and Ghost Black Badge front viewRolls-Royce to reveal two Black Badge special editions

This year Rolls-Royce is about to reveal two special editions at Goodwood. They come rather unexpectedly and what’s even more impressive is the additional power added to their output. Based on the Wraith and Ghost, both limited edition vehicles carry the name Black Badge and share many similarities. With its uncompromised presence they evoke dark and edgy thoughts, but at the same time bring about the calm feeling of safety and affluence.

The name of the exterior color of both cars, Black Badge, brings about more assertive, but demanding aesthetics. I can even say that it somehow has a transformative effect on the appearance and essence of the Wraith and Ghost, which I’m very fond of. It seems that the color plays with the subconscious and the reason is probably the specific way of laying the paint. Precisely, multiple layers of paint and lacquer have been repeatedly applied and then hand polished. Since this is a solid color, the effect ends being deep, dark and extremely intense.

SEE ALSO: Rolls-Royce Black Badge: Taken to the Extremes

What’s common between both models (beside the exterior paint finish) is the facia inside which comes in what Rolls-Royce calls “aerospace-grade aluminium-threaded carbon fibre composite surfacing”. Moreover, both models have been specifically built for the event. Other cool features include “Spirit of Ecstasy” in high-gloss black vamp as well as Double R “inverted” badges and the 21-inch carbon alloys. The traditional chrome surfaces have been turned dark: take a look at the front grille surround, boot lid finisher, lower air inlet finisher and exhaust pipes.

    Wraith Black Badge

Rolls-Royce Wraith Black Badge and Ghost Black Badge side view

This luxury model will go for a Supercar Run up the hill and in between Hillclimbs in the Supercar Paddock. Its torque has been enhanced with 70 Nm, while the horses stay the same, 642 hp (465 kW). More spirited driving is ensured by the custom air suspension and upgraded gearbox. On the inside, Wraith Black Badge is adorned by Black and Mugello Red leather.

    Ghost Black Badge

This one will be Rolls-Royce’s Course Car. The Ghost Black Badge benefits from a power increase too: it packs an additional 40 hp and 60 Nm, making a total of 603 hp (450 kW). More upgrades have been made to the 8-speed automatic transmission and to the interior, which comes in special Black and Cobalto Blue contrast leather.

And if you happen to be at Goodwood, make sure to use the hashtag #BlackBadge when tweeting Rolls-Royce content. You might get noticed.

  • Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 is for the oligarchs of the future [w/360° video]

Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 front view

Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 is really pushing “the boundaries of the possible”?

Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 was just revealed and if you follow us on Facebook, you should probably know this already. Since the brand was resurrected in 2003 with the release of the Phantom and with BMW as a parent, it has achieved many and great successes. It was also about time to follow the steps of BWM and release it VISION NEXT 100 variant. This ‘Vision Vehicle’, also called 103EX, is actually one of the four announced by the BMW Group in March as it launched its centenary celebrations – THE NEXT 100 YEARS.

In other words, the how the car defines the future of luxury mobility. We see many styling cues with BMW’s version that are most certainly pleasing the eye. The ultimate concept car is as innovative as possible, but at the same time expresses the design history of the Rolls-Royce. It has an exciting and extremely appealing vision of autonomous and spacious luxury mobility.

SEE ALSO: BMW Showcases the Unique VISION NEXT 100 Vehicle

Envisioned as highly authentic luxury mobility, the car is created with the aim to answer the expectations of the future wealthy customers. So the design has to be personal, but at the same time to keep the Rolls-Royce’s hallmarks. The goal was achieved with the application of four key tenets: Personal Vision, Effortless Journey, Grand Sanctuary and Grand Arrival.

    The Personal Vision

Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 rear view

The first maxim imbues the spirit of the great coachbuilt cars of the past. The aim is to make the hand-built chassis of the future with the help of most advanced materials and powered by a zero emissions powertrain. In addition, the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 will use advances in technology which will herald the return to authentic coach building.

    The Effortless Journey

The Spirit of Ecstasy, was modeled back in 1911 by the sculptor and artist Charles Sykes, on Eleanor Thornton. Ever since then she has silently guided every Rolls-Royce and its occupants. Today, the ‘Voice of Eleanor’ will be a main part in the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100. She will be digitally connected to every aspect of the driving experience. In other words, ‘Eleanor’ is the virtual assistant and chauffeur, which will make sure to deliver the second key tenet: The Effortless Journey.

Oh, what is more, the company has enhanced the effortlessness even more with the ‘magic carpet ride’. This is a blend of powerful zero-emission drivetrain and advanced suspension, which helps the RR almost float across the road surface.

    The Grand Sanctuary

    Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 interior

The Grand Sanctuary is the way Rolls-Royce imagines the future cabin, which must be defined by simplicity. The futuristic lounge atmosphere, the coach door and clamshell canopy offer not only luxury but also silence. Everything inside is made of the most expensive and best materials on the market such as the Macassar wood paneling.

At the center of the cabin is the sofa, but probably the most interesting and strangely applied design element is the unique deep-pile ivory wool carpet woven especially in London. Of course, there are styling cues emblematic for Rolls-Royce, like the analogue clock that hovers in a central position above the screen. It serves both as a reminder of Sir Henry Royce’s as an electrical pioneer making electric dynamos, and of time as the ultimate luxury.

    The Grand Arrival

Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 side view

The last tenet is probably the most important one, because it gives us clues how the Rolls-Royce operates and why it has certain design. For instance some of the key features which are emblematic for the brand have been kept, namely the Spirit of Ecstasy, the Pantheon grille, the long bonnet and the iconic proportions of the entire vehicle (5.9 metres long and 1.6 metres high).

Most certainly the car looks futuristic with its polished metal of the grille, the suspended laser-headlight hoops, the coach doors and the pronounced rear shoulder, encircling the rear of the glass canopy.

The dividing line of the design actually allows for a classic two-tone design scheme: the upper section is entirely made of dark glass, while the lower one is more dramatic and includes ‘Crystal Water’ color scheme. The wheels are dramatically big, measuring 28-inches. They have been hand-built from 65 individual pieces of aluminium!

Rolls-Royce’s vision of the next 100 years definitely impresses us! And although it might look ridiculous, if it ever comes to life it would be “driven” only by the “chosen ones”.

By the way you can meet the voice of the original Spirit of Ecstasy, Eleanor Thornton, and have a 360° experience of the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100.

  • Rolls-Royce celebrates the Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé with Zenith Collection as they leave the stage

Rolls-Royce Phantom Zenith Collection first pictureRolls-Royce Phantom Zenith Collection celebrates two of the end of the production of most exclusive and celebrated luxury vehicles: the Phantom Drophead Coupé and the Phantom Coupé. The bespoke collection has been conceived with the aim to create the best examples ever of those two models, thus making them collectors’ pieces. Only 50 units will be produced and of course, they have already been commissioned.

The Bespoke design team at Rolls-Royce has considered every possible detail to create the perfect examples. Literally. An instance is how the split-tailgate has been improved with the addition of an engineered companion to a perfect touring day’s picnic. Precisely, the picture below, shows how a glass shelf, housed within the rear section of the tailgate can be effortlessly used in terms of serving Champagne. There is no question whether the team added a champagne fridge. It is actually large enough to hold two standard bottles and eight Rolls-Royce glasses.

SEE ALSO: Rolls-Royce Nautical Wraith is the Best Luxurious Car You’ll See Today

Next under the spotlight is the Rolls-Royce Picnic Hampe, which is a unique accessory. On opening the doors, occupants are greeted with an intricately executed nod to the history of these remarkable motor cars. These include laser etching to the armrest cappings, showing locations of the global debut of the experimental version of each car.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Zenith Collection Champagne time

Everything is in the details. The central fascia drawer has been utilized to house a priceless unique identification number. Further grabbing the attention are the cupholders, machined from aluminium.

Note that at the front the speedometer has great design, featuring brushed steel. What is more the interior trim scheme uses light leather colour for the front seats and darker for the rear. At last, the Starlight Headliner has been given a subtle Bespoke treatment to reflect this.

The exterior makes emphasis on the contrast with the two exterior colors: the Madeira Red and Jubilee Silver Phantom Coupé. More defined contrast can be made via Midnight Blue and Artic White.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupés are currently in the making. 2016 will be their final year of production, making a total of seven generations since the birth of the model. Still, if you are extremely fast, there might be a chance of commissioning one of the very last examples.

  • Rolls-Royce Black Badge: Taken to the Extremes

Rolls-Royce Black Badge front view Rolls-Royce Black Badge is definitely a must-see vehicle. It is so special that it actually celebrates the fact of being most extreme edition in luxury company’s lineup. With it the brand is actually paying tribute to some other extremes from the company’s history. Since 1927 Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is based at its flagship showroom in Berkeley Square and for that amount of time it has seen a lot of extremes. Here are some of them.

First and foremost, the company is offering its customers literally unlimited options for personalization. This means that it allows the buyers to choose a car in a favorite exterior color. One of the most specific color schemes ever desired was a red exterior and a bubblegum pink interior. An interesting detail here is that the customer actually brought in a t-shirt that he wanted to match the pink color to.

SEE ALSO: DMC Releases Rather Strange “LOVE” Rolls-Royce Ghost SaRangHae

The next position is for the tradition that Rolls-Royce has in making the delivery of the car a special occasion. In fact, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London makes sure it is an occasion to remember, and takes the new owner through every aspect of their car. It is not a short process but a long one and it actually takes on average three hours for the introduction. Even more, at the end the owner even gets a gift specific to their car.

    Rolls-Royce Black Badge Interior

Number three: it takes five hours for each car to valet and get just right before it is sold. Under fourth position is the careful exterior painting that every Rolls-Royce car has. The exclusive mirror-like finish is achieved via the application of five layers of paint, which is a process that takes 7 days and uses over 100lb of paint.

The fifth “extreme” is probably my favorite and it is the starry sky. Called the “Starlight Headliner”, this is one of the most popular bespoke features in a modern Rolls-Royce. It comprises of 1340 individually hand-woven fibre-optics in the interior roof. The customers can even specify a specific constellation, which will be verified by a local observatory.

Rolls-Royce Black Badge is going to be revealed at company’s London showroom this July.
