  • Prior Design creates exclusive body kit for Mercedes-AMG GT S

2018 Prior Design Mercedes-AMG GT SMercedes-AMG GT S is already an extraordinary vehicle with its gorgeous body styling, long hood and comfortable cabin. Of course, in terms of drivetrain system, this could simply be considered as a pinnacle of engineering and refinement. However, it makes striking impression when Prior Design equips the exclusive body kit, created for this particular model.

    2018 Prior Design Mercedes-AMG GT S

As the team member say, the most important part of the kit is the sweeping widening of the body on the front-end and rear axles. There are also new side rocker panels and new diffuser and cup fenders as well. Furthermore, the pack comes with new front and rear skirts, engine hood and multi-piece rear spoiler that rounds off the pack. And as expected, there are numerous optional goodies. For example, buyers can specify some of the components to be made of carbon-fiber. And all this is topped off with exclusive AMG Prior Design PD3 Forged wheels with five double spokes in black finish. Neat!

    2018 Prior Design Mercedes-AMG GT S

Furthermore, Prior Design has done some elegant drivetrain changes and upgrades that were necessary for incorporating fully the body kit – there is new exhaust system, H&H sporty springs and revised valve control function. Cool, right?

And last, but not least, the interior has received some special attention – it features numerous high quality additions, trimming and exclusive carbon-fiber component. As a result, the cockpit looks more driver-focused and sporty-oriented and offers anything necessary for a pleasurable drive.

  • The Hellcat is back with 900HP and more aggressive than ever!

Prior-Design Dodge Challenger Hellcat front and side viewPrior-Design is mostly famous for its exclusive tuning and aerodynamic kits as well as beautiful sets of wheels. We can hardly expect from these experts engine uprating or even something that can bring out more from the inherent power of car’s powerplant. However, the case with their latest project is actually the opposite and we have surprisingly found that Prior-Design can actually make things pretty cool!

The chosen car is the newest Dodge Challenger Hellcat, which impresses with its stock output numbers coming from its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 unit. Precisely, it produces a maximum output of 707 horsepower (520 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, which is enough to enjoy hell-of-a-ride.

SEE ALSO: This Red Hot Dodge Challenger coming directly from… Hell

But… 707 hp seem not enough for many and this is why the performance of the Hellcat has been boosted up with additional 200 horsepower, making it up to over 900 hp (662 kW)! Sadly, we can’t tell how these extra horses were achieved because no official details were announced so far.

Prior-Design Dodge Challenger Hellcat side view

Besides the output uprating the car, the car received widened exterior via the addition of a PD900HC package. Thanks to it, the car achieve not only wider but more aggressive stance. Precisely, the aero kit comprises of an add-on spoiler for the front and rear, side skirts as well as trunk spoiler. The front and rear widenings have to be mentioned as well.

Contributing for the aggressive appearance are the bronze PD3Forged wheels as well. However, we do think that the chosen bronze color is rather… strange. Just for a comparison, the Canadian studio SR Auto Group has recently introduced their Hellcat based project, which we dig very, very much (click the link above for more info)! And we like the wheels, too!

  • Prior-Design meets Vossen Wheels in a cool Mercedes-AMG GT S project and everything is shot in Monaco

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front and side viewWhat happens when two very posh companies that offer additional style for you vehicle work together? It happens projects like this. The unique Mercedes-AMG GT S has been updated by Prior-Design in general, but instead of the standard wheels that come with the wide-body kit they offer, it has been fitted with Vossen ones. What is more, the car has been photographed in one of the most beautiful places on Earth: Monaco! Is it the place that makes this car so attractive or?

Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S has taken part in the 2016 Supercars Monaco Prior-Design Tour, which aimed at showing custom-made wide-body kits on some of the fastest models in the automotive world.

    Prior-Design PD800 GT

This is the name of the new wide-body kit by the specialists at Prior-Design. As you can expect, it not only makes the car more individual (in terms of looks), but it also takes care for its performance abilities, although in an indirect way.

SEE ALSO: Prior-Design is killing it with the Audi RS6/A6 Avant PD600R project

To go into details, the pack comprises of some cool parts like a front add-on spoiler and trunk spoiler, brand new side skirts, rear diffuser at the back, front and rear flared arches as well as custom canards and air intake panels. The result leaves us speechless. Oh and there is a custom bonnet on the way, too.

    Prior-Design Mercedes-AMG GT S front view

Originally this kit comes with the in-house made PD3Forged Superlight wheels. However in this case Vossen Wheels has stepped in bringing about more exclusivity than ever. Here you look at huge VPS-307 Vossen alloys fitted with low profiles.

Most definitely this tuning pack will help the supercar release its inherent power: 510 hp (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. Just to remind you, the sprint the AMG GT S is making to 100 km/h from standstill is in only 3.8 seconds, while the Vmax has been positioned at 310 km/h (192 mph).

  • Prior-Design brings out the best from Porsche Macan with PD600M wide-body conversion

Prior-Design Porsche Macan PD600M front view Prior-Design is a tuning company we love to talk about. It is frequently featured in our blog posts not only because of its relative popularity, but mostly because of the great tunings it creates. This time, under the spotlight is the Porsche Macan, which has received a wide-body conversion kit, called PD600M. The tuning studio calls the process a “muscle building” and we are likely to agree. Here are the reasons.

If you have ever wondered what the word Macan stands for, it is the Malay word for ‘Tiger’. Although Porsche made sure its compact SUV lived up to its name, customization specialists like PD can always bring out more and more so that the vehicle could bring about better performance and driving dynamics.

SEE ALSO: Prior-Design is killing it with the Audi RS6/A6 Avant PD600R project

The PD600M wide-body conversion not only does that but also gives the Macan tough street fighter looks and aggressive on-road stance. The muscular look was the goal for this project. However, PD experts also tried keeping the inherent elegance of the Porsche.

Prior-Design Porsche Macan PD600M rear view

At the front we see new bumper and a separate air splitter and larger air intakes. At the sides, there are bigger front wheel arch extensions visually joined to the equally large rear arches by new side skirts. Speaking of the rear, there is a new tailgate, roof spoilers as well as in-house made exhaust system. It includes four big exhaust outlets bracketing the underbody diffuser as well as valve control system for a mind-blowing soundtrack.

The huge wheel-arches had to be filled out to the maximum with the 22-inch Vossen VPS305 alloys that were shod with Continental SportContact 6 high performance tyres. At last, the ride height was lowered by up to 35 mm via H&R’s electronic lowering module.

With its lower and wider stance, Prior-Design’s Porsche MAcan is probably one of the best projects they have released.

  • Prior-Design is killing it with the Audi RS6/A6 Avant PD600R project

Prior-Design Audi A6/RS6 Avant PD600R front and side viewPrior-Design has just released a stunning tuning kit for the Audi A6 Avant and the RS6. It definitely contributes for bettering (if that is even possible) car’s stance. What is more, the tuning company also offers an exciting power-modification for these models. The aim is to add more excitement to the enhanced visual appearance. Well, they’ve done it right.

    PD600R Widebody Aerodynamic-Kit

The widebody kit is called PD600R and features many elements that treat the Audi very well. By the way, after the installation of the aero kit, the A6 Avant and the RS6 become 8 cm wider up front and 10 cm lower at the back.  How cool is that?

SEE ALSO: 2017 Audi R8 is Priced at $162,900 USD [w/video]

To go directly into details, up front the PD600R comprises of new front bumpers and front add-on spoiler as well as front widenings. The sides are adorned by new side skirts and add-on lips. Continuing to the back of the car, new are the bumper, the diffusor, the rear trunk spoiler, the roof spoiler and the rear widenings.

    PD Performance Tuning

    Prior-Design Audi A6/RS6 Avant PD600R partial view

In terms of performance enhancement, there are things that could be done too. The standard 3.0 TDI engine under the hood of the A6 Avant, produces no more than 313 HP (230 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. After the customization by the specialists at Prior-Design, these numbers have jumped with 98 HP and 157 Nm, resulting in a total of 411 HP (302 KW) and 807 Nm (596 lb-ft) of torque.

When it comes to the more powerful Audi RS6 with standard 560 HP (412 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque, it gained an addition of 110 HP (81 kW) and 130 Nm. The result is impressive: 670 Hp (493 kW) and 830 Nm (613 lb-ft) of torque.

At last, but not least we have to mention that the Audis depicted in the gallery below run on 21-inch Vossen VPS-310 wheels.

  • Prior-Design with Yet Another Breath-Taking Ferrari 458 Italia Transformation

Prior-Design Ferrari F458 Italia Front ViewPrior-Design has just sent us their latest project and we are extremely impatient to show it to you. The car is no other but specialist’s favorite 458 Italia, which this time comes in Ferrari’s most famous color.  The changes here are basic and they do not include engine update as we have seen in other PD projects including this model, however the car looks fantastic and to be assured of this you need to check out the gallery below.

    PD458 Aerodynamic-Kit

First and foremost, the main change is the addition of the famous PD458 aerodynamic-kit. The pack itself is unique and lends the sports car even purposeful appearance. At the front the experts added wide body bumper and add-on lip spoiler, which substantially widens car’s front, hence – stance. There is also unique PD458 bonnet.

Going to the sides, they are adorned by side skirts and add-on side spoiler, while the rear is governed by the following elements from the aero pack: rear bumper, in-house made diffuser, trunk spoiler, vents inserts, cup wings and widebody rear widenings. Not to mention the vented engine covers.

    Wheels & Suspension

Prior-Design Ferrari F458 Italia Rear View

The last change includes suspension and alloy wheels. This Rosso red Ferrari 458 Italia has been updated with H&R Suspension system and it rides on huge 21-inch VOSSEN VPS-306 forged wheels. The alloys have been matched with CONTINENTAL tires of the appropriate dimensions.

Although the power output hasn’t been changed, the 458 Italia can proudly show-off with a mid-mounted 4.5 litre flat-plane crank V8 engine, which produces 570 hp (420 kW).

  • Prior Design Transforming the Ferrari 458 Italia

Prior Design Ferrari Italia F458 Front ViewPrior Design is proud to present their latest project based on the Ferrari Italia F458. It is one of their best tunings we have seen so far and we decided to bring it forward to the public. Although 458 Italia is a sports car that barely needs modifications, Prior Design experts were courageous enough to step into fields that other tuners rarely do.

Basically, the conversion comprises not only of a widening aerodynamic kit, but also adds new wheels and tires, additional lowering as well as extra output for the famous car. And here are the steps of the tuning:

    PD458WB Widebody Aero-Kit

This is the name of the amount of additional parts added to this Ferrari. As a result, the car is 60mm wider up front and 120 mm at the rear. This has been achieved via various elements like the new front and rear bumper, side skirts with add-on spoiler, the front fenders and the rear widenings. The bonnet is also new and it includes vents. PD also added trunk spoiler and vented engine covers.

SEE ALSO: Prior-Design with Wide-Body Conversion for Mercedes-Benz GT S

The catch here is that if you have enough money, you can order these parts in carbon fiber variant. So in this way you will achieve not only more width, but also less weight.

    Wheels & Tires Are Dramatic

Prior Design Ferrari Italia F458 Front and Side View

Wider proportions need bigger wheels to ride on. Hence, the three-piece forged alloys were added. They were made in-house and measure 21×9,5 at the front and 22×11,5 at the rear. The tires added are of the dimensions 255/30ZR21 and 325/25ZR21 at the front and rear, respectively. They are made by Continental.

    More Goodies

Prior Design offers an H&R Sport Suspension on request. It will deliver to your Ferrari 35mm lowering, thus making it more menacing than before. There are also in-house made carbon-fiber engine compartment covers.

    Interior

Inside, the car has been completed with leather seats in Alcantara and Nappa. The upholstery was is with red stitching.

PD Exhaust System & Engine Chip Tuning

Prior Design Ferrari Italia F458 Rear View

The tuners also ensured that there is a new exhaust system for this car. Precisely, it features 200Cell race cats, manifold and muffler with clap control. The exhaust also serves in terms of power improvement of up to 40PS. In addition, the performance was enhanced via Chiptuning. As a result, the Ferrari is now 30PS and 40Nm stronger.

  • Comparing the very best family touring and estate cars

Growing families that need a little more room than a standard hatchback or saloon will usually turn their attention to estate and touring cars. Along with a bigger boot, estate and touring car owners still benefit from impressive styling, great refinement and plenty of equipment.

In addition, running costs are much cheaper than bigger MPVs and crossovers. Simply by adding some roof bars on top, from Tesco or other retailers, the same functionality can be enjoyed.

But what are the very best family touring and estate cars currently available? Here’s a quick comparison.

    BMW 5 Series Touring

Possibly the best estate car around, the BMW 5 Series Touring ticks all the right boxes. The build quality is second to none, so you won’t have to deal with many surprise breakdowns. At the same time, owners are treated to a powerful yet controlled drive behind the wheel.

Self-levelling rear suspension allows you to transport heavy loads with the greatest of ease, while the ample safety and security kit means passengers will always stay free from harm.

    Ford Focus Estate

If the 5 Series Touring is too expensive, consider the Ford Focus Estate instead. Not only does this option handle just as well as the BMW, it also boasts a number of powerful yet economical engines.

Space and practicality are also best in class, while all versions come with air conditioning, a digital radio, and Bluetooth.

    Audi A6 Avant

Going back to the executive market, the Audi A6 Avant provides stiff competition for the BMW 5 Series. Handling isn’t quite as sharp but the beautiful cabin is a thoroughly pleasant place to be.

You won’t need to spend much on additional extras either, as nearly every piece of equipment you could want is included as standard. Competitive running costs and strong engine performance only add to the Audi A6 Avant’s strong points.

    Kia Cee’d Sportswagon

Budget-conscious buyers that don’t want to break the bank with a purchase should look no further than the Kia Cee’d Sportswagon. With lots of space, a high quality cabin, and an abundance of equipment, you can’t go far wrong.

It is probably a bit noisier than the Ford Focus Estate and won’t deliver an equally impressive drive, but if value for money is your key concern, pick the Kia Cee’d Sportswagon.

    Verdict

Personal preference in terms of handling and equipment is the only way to separate top of the range estate cars like the BMW 5 Series Touring and Audi A6 Avant. However, if your budget doesn’t stretch to these options, there are some commendable alternatives available.

The Ford Focus might not be as refined, but it can’t be beaten when it comes to space and practicality. And for the ultimate in cost-effective motoring, try the Kia Cee’d Sportswagon for size.

Prior-Design Ferrari 458 Italia Front and Side ViewPrior-Design Ferrari 458 Italia is a car to admire. It was specifically created to catch the attention of the visitors at Top Marques Monaco. SEE ALSO: Godzilla is Back: Meet Prior-Design’s 720HP Nissan GT-R

The first step in the modification process of the Prior-Design Ferrari 458 Italia was to change the front bumper with new one and to add to it spoiler lip. The designers also agreed on adding Cup-Wings and an all-new bonnet.

Prior-Design Ferrari 458 Italia Back and Side View

What is more, the new side skirts smoothen the air flow along the flanks of the car. At the rear, there is a new bumper with diffuser and tailgate spoiler. This creates more downforce over the rear axle and also reduces drag by minimising turbulence from the airflow separation.

Prior-Design Ferrari 458 Italia runs on in-house made alloy wheels that come in 9.0×21-inch at the front and 12.5×22-inch at the rear.

    Engine Remap

Powering this Ferrari Italia is the mid-mounted 4.5 litre flat-plane crank V8 engine. In its standard form it produces 570 hp (420 kW). However, the engineers at Prior-Design decided to stand out and developed a Power-Package. It actually adds extra 45 horses, contributing for a total output of 615 hp (452 kW).

Next, to the engine software remap, the conversion also helps in the reduction of exhaust back-pressure thanks to the equal-length manifolds, 100-cell race-grade metal catalysts and a free-flow stainless steel sports silencer with sound valve control.

At last, Prior-Design has also revealed that this conversion has been extensively tested on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife track.

  • Godzilla is Back: Meet Prior-Design’s 720HP Nissan GT-R

Nissan GT-R is undoubtedly on of the best sports cars on the planet. I sincerely think that there isn’t a car enthusiast who would not want to drive this emblematic vehicle. And it is always a pleasure when we see some good GT-R conversions. Remember the Liberty Walk Nissan GTR, for instance?

Well, this time the tuner is Prior-Design and it has given this Nissan a Widebody Godzilla aero kit. The most important thing that it has done for the GT-R is that it has lowered its weight, thus giving it the capability of faster acceleration.

SEE ALSO: First Liberty Walk Nissan GTR In Vancouver

    PD750 Body Kit

The aerodynamic PD750 body kit comprises of several carbon fiber parts that has been added to the car. The first one is the new front bumper, which features large intakes for the uprated intercoolers and brakes.

The second one is the front lip spoiler, and the others are the side skirts and a three-piece rear underbody diffuser with vertical fins. The fins actually channel the out-going airflow in order to minimize the drag. As an option, the company is also offering an eight-piece wheel arch extension kit.

    Drivetrain

The aggressive look of the Godzilla is complemented by the uprated engine. The 3.8-liter V6 unit driving the four wheels now produces 720 hp (529 kW) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque. In addition, the new in-house made steel sport exhaust features a pair of 200-cell free-flow catalytic converters and a flap control. When entirely open, the latter emits powerful sound.

    Wheels & Suspension

Prior-Design has ensured that the GT-R receives the best, so they given it a KW Variant 3 coil-over suspension system. Thanks to it, car’s ride height can be adjusted. There is also an added bounce and rebound control, which assists in the effective use of the extra power.

At last, the Nissan rides on new alloys which measure 10.5 and 13.0×21-inches at the front and rear, respectively. They provide huge mechanical grip and look spectacular.
