  • 2015 Ford Mustang GT – Electronic Burnout Control System [video]

Ford US has won my heart with their latest technology called Electronic Burnout Control System. This is probably the best feature that car can have and will make you smile all day long, especially if you are behind the steering wheel of an all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT.

The Electronic Burnout Control System is essentially a line-lock, which keeps the front brakes locked while releasing the rear brakes. The driver can hit the accelerator to do a burnout without having to balance one foot on the brake and the other on the gas. This also protects your rear brake pads and the clutch.

Of course, the spectacular system is  “intended for use only on racetracks”. The 2015 Mustang GT is powered by the upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine – 420HP (310 kW) and 530 Nm (390 lb-ft).

“We’re using advanced controls technology for the all-new Mustang to provide some of our most dedicated fans with an industry-first feature they can use when they go to the track. With electronic line-lock, customers who drive their Mustangs to work all week and then compete on the weekends will appreciate not having to modify their brake systems to be able to do effective tire prep at the drag strip.”, commented Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak.

    Enjoy!

  • Ford Mustang GT 50 Year Limited Edition Debuts In New York

Ford-Mustang-GT-50-Year-Limited-Edition-THUMBFord Mustang GT 50 Year Limited Edition comes to pay homage to one of world’s most popular cars. Exactly, fifty years ago in 1964 the first Mustang debuted in New York. The Mustang GT 50 Year Limited Edition will be produced in the exact number of 1964 examples and will go on sale this fall. It is based in the new 2015 Mustang GT fastback, equipped with performance pack. The only options for the 50 Year Limited Edition are the choice of two exterior colors and a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The muscle car is powered by the upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine. It produces more than 420 horsepower (310 kW) and 530 Nm (390 lb.-ft.). In addition, every 50 Year Limited Edition will be equipped with the Mustang GT performance pack. The latter features six-piston Brembo front brakes and 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with high-performance Y-speed-rated Pirelli P-Zero summer tires.

In fact, the design of the 19-inch alloy wheels is inspired by the unique Y-spoke design of the chromed steel wheels offered on the original Mustang. In particular, the front wheels are 9.0 inches wide and come with 255/40R tires, while the rear wheels are 9.5 inches wide and are with 275/40R tires.

Inside, the drivers will know they are driving a very special car. The reason for this is the addition of an aluminum trim panel that spans the double-brow instrument panel and gets an axel spin finish. The latter is different from other 2015 Mustangs.

A special serialized 50 Year Limited Edition badge on the passenger side adds also to the uniqueness of the model. The limited-edition car is the only 2015 Mustang with a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The same stitching is also applied on the instrument panel, shifter boot, center armrest, door inserts and seats.

Furthermore, the seats include two-tone cashmere and black leather upholstery, and the Mustang 50 Year logo on the seat backs. The cars will be equipped with loop-carpet floor mats with cashmere stitching and suede binding, which can’t be seen on other Mustangs.

  • 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible Combines Function And Design [VIDEO]

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible is here and as its fastback sibling it is redesigned from the wheels up in order to offer more driving enjoyment. As a true Mustang it has unique design characteristics which make it instantly recognizable.

As a matter of fact, it has an entirely redesigned top system, and as the technicians and creatives at Ford say, it is the best convertible they have ever built. Both the fastback and the top-lees 2015 Mustangs include an array of important changes, while at the same time deliver enhanced standards of performance, luxury and refinement.

An innovation for the MY2015 is that every convertible roof is getting a full fabric outer layer, as well as full inner headliner to incorporate the five-bow structure. In between these layers is positioned the full 10-millimeter thick insulation pad which contributes for the quietness of the muscle car inside.

Furthermore, the new Ford Mustang features electromechanical drive system, which raises or lowers the roof in half the time required previously. This is achieved via press of a button on the center console. The significant use of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels throughout the body structure delivers more stiffness, which is enhanced by 13 percent, and fully utilizes the independent suspension. As a result, the cabrio has more refined ride quality and enhanced handling.

Usable cargo space is also offered in the 2015 version of the Mustang. This is due to the more compact roof and flat load floor, making enough space for two large golf bags. In addition, the wider rear and the new top design contribute towards more shoulder and hip room for rear-seat occupants.

2015 Mustang fastback and convertible are equipped with the line-up of Ford engines, including the new turbocharged EcoBoost 2.3-liter power plant. There is also available the updated 420 hp (309 kW) 5.0-liter V8 unit, which can be coupled with a manual or automatic six-speed transmission. The models are also equipped with state-of-the-art connectivity systems, available advanced driver-assist systems, track applications and launch control.

  • A-Team Racing Transforms 1978 Ford Mustang II [VIDEO]

Ford-Mustang-Evolution-II-V-10-Triton-Edition-By-A-Team-Racing-THUMBThe presented 1978 Ford Mustang II was transformed in unique way by the tuning specialists at A-Team Racing. The car has some powerful looks, isn’t it? It is dressed in Ford’s Kona Blue exterior paint finish, but what makes this project one-of-a-kind is its Triton V-10 engine.

Dubbed as Evolution II, this Mustang is driven by an all-custom-made Triton V-10 powertrain, which features custom manifold, intake and custom-made valve covers on the top of the powertrain. The unit is mated to a Z06 6-speed transaxle.

Obviously, the work on the vehicle did not stop here. The tuners included equipment features such as 3” Magnaflow exhaust, unique Race Mesh grille, Dakota Digital gauges, brand new billet window cranks and door handles.

In general, the car has widened proportions. For instance, in order to accommodate the larger engine, the front wheels were moved with 12-inches forward, while at the rear A-Team Racing used Mustang GT fenders cover the large Toyo tires.

In contrast to the striking blue exterior paint stand the ten-spoke wheels in black, which were also fitted with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear brakes. What rounds out this project are the tail lights that were taken from 1976 Toyota Clica GT.

  • Auction: 1965 Ford Mustang 289 Springs Back To Life

1965-Ford-Mustang-289-Racing-Car-mediumA fully restored/modernised, rather non-street legal 1965 Mustang 289 racing car in Ford France livery is looking for a new owner. An auction will be held on the 5th of February. The estimated price: anywhere from 75,000 to 95,000 Euros (circa $101,000 – $128,000)

Before you walk away, consider this: the original car’s shell was taken to a highly esteemed coach works (Rae Davis Racing) to have most of its racing bits installed. Later, all was put together by the enthusiasts at CCK Historics in Kent. Now, standing before you, this gem of Americana has an independent front suspension with coilsprings, an anti-roll bar, and disc brakes at the front. It still has leaf springs and drums at the back, but hey, it’s a 1965 Ford. Besides, the main idea behind it, is out-of-the-box readiness for historic racing around the world.

That’s right, it has a six-point roll cage by Caged Manufacturing Ltd., big alloy wheels with Dunlop Racing M-section tires on them, a Cobra Evolution pro seat with TRS belts, a Lifeline plumbed fire extinguisher system and ignition cut-off. Even the (dry) car battery is securely strapped inside the cockpit. The Stack racing rev counter and the shift light indicator are also a dead giveaway for this car’s intent. Pop the trunk open and you find little to no space due to the 120-liter boxed bag-style fuel tank nestled in. Twin Facet pumps and fuel and brake lines have also been installed inside the car.

The 289 cubic inch V8 inside the engine bay has had its carburettor and air-filter replaced. There’s also a remote oil cooler, a Mallory distributor, and a new electric cooling fan. All of that should mean more power (maybe 240 hp and above). At the same time, the almost completely stripped interior and the Perspex side and rear windows keep the weight down.

    Deal of the month?

  • Ford Auctions First 2015 Mustang GT For $300,000

2015-Ford-Mustang-GT-First-Unit-shadow2015-Ford-Mustang-GT-First-Unit-medium-1Last week we talked about the Barret-Jackson sale where the rights to buy the first production Camaro COPO for 2014 and the first Z/28 were auctioned off. However, there were even more production firsts that went under the hammer. Car collector and North Texas Ford dealer, Sam Pack signed a $300,000 check after placing a winning bid for the first retail production 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Yikes.

It’s not just money spent for bragging rights though. A part of the sum goes to the JDRF charity, a leading diabetes research organisation that has been endorsed from Ford since 1983. Mr Pack will also have the benefit to peruse the options list and customize the GT to his liking. He can choose any colour scheme he fancies for the inside and outside, and he can go with either a manual or an automatic. (fingers crossed for stick). Oh, and the design team will sign the car as an act of appreciation of the donation to JDRF.

The 2015 Ford Mustang brandishes a throaty V8 that turns out “more than” 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. It also doesn’t fall behind in terms of connectivity and ease of use. And by that we mean launch control – for that exquisite off-the-line start. A pony that actually doesn’t want to destroy it’s tires. Who would have thought?

  • Sienna Miller Really Likes The 2015 Ford Mustang [VIDEO]

2015-Ford-Mustang-Sienna-Miller-Spot-shadow2015-Ford-Mustang-Sienna-Miller-Spot-mediumA timeless commercial formula: women plus cars make the world go round. Or is that just us being dizzy?

It’s not all unapologetic marketing though. You have the ridiculously gorgeous British actress/model/fashion designer Sienna Miller next to an American icon (which, apparently, has an American accent): the 2015 Ford Mustang . Isn’t that a metaphorical bridge between two continents that have been wedged by the Atlantic for far too long? A symbol of unity and globalization, tolerance and cooperati…okay, it’s shameless marketing all the way.

Just look at it. Things get steamy pretty quickly. I recall thinking while watching : “Did that volume knob really need such sensual treatment?… Are we really going to go with the hand-brake shot? Ok…Gotta check that make up in the mirror, very important!… Really, Ford! Just give the woman the keys and let her drive!”

Wonder how many feminists punched a wall after seeing that.

P.S. – you know you spend too much time with cars when you flinch at the nonchalant kick (0:28th mark) or think: “That’s going to leave fingerprints” (circa 0:37th mark).

  • Custom Made 2014 ROUSH Ford Mustang Stage 3 Still Hot

    2014-ROUSH-Ford-Mustang-Stage-3-shadow2014-ROUSH-Ford-Mustang-Stage-3-medium

Despite all the hubbub around the brand-new Mustang 2015, we shouldn’t be ruling out the “old” pony just yet. Here’s an example of how mental it can be, especially in the hands of ROUSH. This is a one-off, custom Ford, made to fit the customer’s fancy. Those red motifs and that red-star – not really vinyl livery, but actual paint. Pretty neat, huh?

Let’s start from the beginning. This is a 2014 ROUSH Ford Mustang Stage 3 with the optional Ford Racing “Aluminator” engine. It is the perfect ideal onto which ROUSH have strapped an Eaton TVS R2300 supercharger and an in-house “high-efficiency” intercooler. After the appropriate calibrating of the ECU this stang should be having around 625 hp or even 675 if they’ve gone all the way.

Stage 3 also means that the chassis has been completely overhauled – new custom-valved front and rear shock absorbers, TrakPak coil-overs specifically opted by the customer and the biggest brakes (six-piston calipers) they could fit. The Mustang’s manners on the track should be further improved because of the stiffer front stabilizer bar and the rear anti-wheel hop upper control arm. Weather for aerodynamic efficiency or pure flamboyancy, the ROUSH “R6” Aerobody package is also present.

Inside, we can clearly see two Recaro sports seats at the front and … none at the back. Instead, ROUSH has provided an X-brave for even more rigidity of the body.

  • 2015 Ford Mustang on the Street [VIDEO]

    2014-Ford-Mustang-shadow2014-Ford-Mustang-medium

You know how YouTube is full of people that do “unboxing” videos of phones, game consoles, watches, pens… you name it. It’s supposed to be a constructive and consumer friendly commentary on this world full of choices and decisions. What’s more, the reviewers go through every single detail like stickers, and manuals, and packaging, and delivery and guarantees. How far we’ve come with the internet, haven’t we?

So here’s a video of the 2015 Ford Mustang which pretty much has the same premise. Sort of. There’s no actual unboxing happening, but the Mustang is still so fresh and so new, that it might as well be in a box. There’s no commentary either. Instead, the pony is left to introduce itself with a gurgling noise and a rumbling shout. Maybe it’s nothing like the unboxing videos, what do we know? As far as we’re concerned, though, that’s good enough consumer advice right there.

We are willing to bet that this one here has the V8 in its belly. Maybe, due to the vastness of the internet, there might be videos out there of the Ecoboost version of the stang, but do you really want to find it?

The Mustang V8 engine has 5.0-liters of displacement and churns out 420 hp and 529 Nm of torque. An automatic gearbox with paddle shifters is available as an option. The front of the pony has a new perimeter subframe that stiffens the front structure yet reduces the overall weight. The back axle is mounted on an integral-link independent suspension, and its geometry, springs, dampers and bushings all have been specifically designed for high-performance cornering.

Regardless of all the fancy tech, though, a muscle car is a muscle car. Just sit back and enjoy
