  • Mini Clubman Final Edition

In 1969, the first Mini Clubman made a clear statement, which designer Roy Haynes put in these words: “The impression that only ugly things can be functional has disappeared.” The exceptional car with style caused a sensation from the start between 1969 and 1981 with its characteristic split doors at the rear. At that time, the Mini Clubman conquered the automotive market as a station wagon with a long wheelbase and extended shooting-brake body.

For the new edition from 2007, the MINI Clubman delivers a modern interpretation of the classic shooting-brake concept. For access to the rear, there is only one door on the right side of the vehicle, which opens to the rear. With the third model generation from 2015, the MINI Clubman grows again to now 4.25 meters in length and becomes more spacious and comfortable thanks to the longer wheelbase and two full-sized rear side doors.

Together with the unique split rear doors, the MINI Clubman remains one of the most versatile MINI models to date. The spacious load opening makes it easy to load the luggage compartment, which currently holds up to 1,250 liters. Now limited to 1,969 units, the Final Edition cites the year in which the legendary Mini Clubman was created and combines the specific brand tradition with exclusive design elements and strong characteristics.

The most exclusive of its kind.

The 131 kW/178 hp MINI Cooper S Clubman Final Edition (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 -6.3 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 153 – 143 g/km according to WLTP) has always stood for driving dynamics, style and comfort. As a special edition, it is available in Nanuq White, Enigmatic Black and Melting Silver and is available as a Cooper, Cooper S, the respective diesel variants or with all-wheel drive. With charismatic details in the colour Shimmer Copper, the limited edition refers to the design history of the exceptional talent. The surrounds and the upper third of the radiator grille crossbar are in the shimmering edition colour, as are the model-typical MINI Cooper S Blade and the side scuttles. The graphic pattern on the 18-inch light-alloy wheels in the Final Edition Spoke 2- tone design is also finished in a tinted clear lacquer reminiscent of copper, giving the hue an elegant shimmering depth.

In the lower area of the side doors, MINI-typical narrow lines accentuate the elongated body of the iconic shooting-brake concept. They are also found on the passenger side of the hood and on the right side of the split doors.

Here, the shimmering “Final Edition” lettering elegantly indicates the special edition, as does the “1 of 1969” badge on the side of the C-pillar. The Union Jack taillights refer to the British origins of the MINI Clubman.

Exclusive equipment details in the interior.

The interior of the MINI Clubman Final Edition emphasizes the exclusive aura of the limited special edition with numerous equipment details. For example, the door sill trims with the edition-specific “Final Edition” lettering, which is also found on the lower spoke of the comfortable sports leather steering wheel in Nappa, already create a special ambience in the edition model. The comfortable MINI Yours leather sports seats with adjustable thigh support and sewn-in edition badge are finished in Dark Maroon. They are stylishly set off by an anthracite-coloured Piquet fabric insert and blue contrasting stitching.

In the cockpit, the first thing that catches the eye from the central instrument panel is the dark dashboard trim, which is framed by harmonizing trim strips in the matte shimmering Sage Green Dark colour and the edition-specific Shimmer Copper colour. On the passenger side, a “1 of 1969” badge on the trim also reminds the interior of the exclusivity of the MINI Clubman Final Edition. A badge in the same design is also found on the floor mats, and graphic lettering also characterizes the key cap of the MINI Clubman Final Edition.

The standard Connected Media equipment includes an 8.8-inch touch display in the central instrument, the MINI Online digital service, Remote Services and smartphone integration for using Apple CarPlay and other apps via the vehicle’s own control system. The latest generation of the MINI control system optimizes the options for fast and intuitive control of vehicle functions, audio program, communication, navigation and apps.

The 1,969 units of the MINI Clubman Final Edition produced give MINI fans the opportunity to meet the extraordinary gentleman.

  • Mini Cooper SE Convertible

Following the positive feedback on the unique specimen presented in summer 2022, MINI is now going ahead with a small series of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible (power consumption combined: 17.2 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km) which represents another big step in the direction of electric mobility. The world’s first locally emission-free premium convertible in the small car segment shortens the transition period to the introduction of the next-generation all-electric model family. From April 2023, the MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be available in Europe in a limited number of 999 vehicles.

“Three years ago we launched the all-electric MINI Cooper SE, and today one in five MINI sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI. This success has spurred us to implement the small series of the MINI Cooper SE Convertible within only a few months. I’m delighted that we can offer 999 MINI customers an extraordinary and exclusive open-air go-kart feeling,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI Brand.

The MINI Cooper SE Convertible is available in Enigmatic Black and White Silver. Door handles, side scuttles and the surrounds of the front and rear lights are finished in Resolute Bronze. The MINI logos and the model lettering feature in elegant Piano Black to match. The E logo familiar from the MINI Cooper SE is found on the front apron and on the rear, thereby visually underlining locally emission-free driving fun.

Further edition-specific equipment details also adorn the door sill trims and side scuttles and, with the 1 of 999 lettering emphasising the exclusive character of the limited edition open-air MINI.

MINI takes on a pioneering role with the edition-specific alloy wheels. The 17″ cast alloy wheels in Electric Power Spoke 2-tone design are made of 100 percent secondary aluminium. The combination of green electricity during production and the use of the secondary raw material can significantly reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional manufacturing processes.

Extensive interior equipment with MINI Electric Design features.

The sports seats are in MINI Yours Leather Lounge design and feature seat heating and adjustable thigh support. The multifunctional sports leather steering wheel in Nappa leather finish contributes to the fun-to-drive atmosphere and stylish driving comfort and can also be heated. In the lower steering wheel spoke, the MINI Electric Badge highlights the limited character of the all-electric convertible. The exclusive Piano Black surfaces, which can be stylishly set off by the ambient lighting, also contribute to car’s exclusive status. The design of the interior emphasises the fully electric character of the open-top four-seater with yellow colour accents, such as the yellow start-stop toggle switch.

In addition to numerous other features, the high-quality equipment is complemented in the cockpit by the eDrive services familiar from the MINI Cooper SE. These provides the driver with information on current energy consumption, range and tips for an economical driving style. All essential information is summarised on the MINI Head-Up Display while driving. On longer journeys, the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and the MINI Driving Assistant, among other features, enhance the comfort of the limited MINI Convertible with all-electric drive as standard.

    Pure electrified go-kart feeling.

With a length of 3,850 mm, a wheelbase of 2,495 mm, 1,727 mm width and 1,427 mm height, the dimensions, including the luggage compartment with 160 l load volume, remain unchanged compared to the conventionally powered MINI Convertible. The 135 kW/184 hp electric motor comes from the BMW Group’s electric mobility competence centres in Dingolfing and Landshut. Its small size enables particularly harmonious axle load distribution and favours agile and easily controllable handling. The electric drive accelerates the MINI Cooper SE Convertible smoothly from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds.

With a range of 201 kilometres determined in the WLTP test cycle, open-air excursions are possible well beyond the city limits. Up to 30 km/h, the fully electrically powered and thus particularly quiet textile soft top in MINI Yours style with typical Union Jack pattern can be opened, closed or set as a sliding roof.

    From idea to small series.

With the MINI Cooper SE Convertible, MINI highlights its flexibility and has set up the production of a small series for the first time. The MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be produced in a limited edition of 999 vehicles alongside the conventional MINI Convertible in the Netherlands.

Inside the model, decorative trim stripes can be found on the front dashboard in edition-specific design, along with the ‘30’ graphic badge on the floor mat, steering wheel, and vehicle key.

  • Mini Cooper S 3-door Resolute Edition

The exclusive design and equipment features of the Resolute Edition particularly highlight the characteristic features of the MINI 3-door – expressive design, inspiring driving pleasure, premium quality and individual style. As of now, the new bodycolor Enigmatic Black with its mysterious aura underscores the self-confident appearance of the MINI Cooper S in the Resolute Edition (fuel consumption combined: 6.6 – 6.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 151 – 140 g/km according to WLTP).

The MINI 3-door is the original in the premium segment of small cars. The classic body concept of the MINI Cooper S emphasizes the Resolute Edition with a clear commitment to the brand’s historic roots. The design features typical of MINI, such as the surrounds of the headlights, taillights and radiator grille, as well as the edition-specific hood stripes, are finished in Resolute Bronze and feature the “RESOLUTE” lettering. The roof and mirror caps are optionally available in black as well as Enigmatic Black or can provide an exciting contrast in Pepper White.

Under the stylishly designed hood is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology and a peak output of 131 kW/178 hp with a maximum torque of 280 Nm. Thus equipped, the energetic MINI Cooper S in the Resolute Edition stands for traditional sportiness and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.8 seconds. Top speed is reached at 235 km/h. The vehicle’s agile handling is supported by a 6-speed manual transmission as standard or a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with dual clutch as an option.

    High-quality and authentic special equipment

In the interior, the anthracite-colored headliner corresponds with the mysteriously dark charm of the body paint. Matching sports seats in the exclusive Black Pearl/Light Chequered fabric/leatherette finish combined with black armrests and knee rolls give stylish comfort. The Nappa sports leather steering wheel with edition emblem on the lower spoke is just as much a standard feature of the Resolute Edition as the specific surfaces in the interior. On their black background, parallel and evenly curved lines in a light gold tone form an original pattern with a special charisma.

The design features of the edition are atmospherically set off with the aid of the Light Package, whose LED units ensure targeted illumination of the interior, and with the Ambient Light, which includes a laser-engraved ring for the central instrument, light piping in the doors and cockpit area, and illuminated door handles and door entry areas.

The MINI Cooper S Resolute Edition cockpit will also include the MINI Driving Assistant as standard from November 2022.  The driving assistance system enhances both safety and driving comfort with additional features such as active cruise control (ACC). The MINI Driving Modes are also part of the equipment package for the MINI Cooper S 3-door in the Resolute Edition. At the flick of a toggle switch, they can be used to activate a distinctly sporty characteristic for the vehicle’s drive and suspension systems.

  • Mini Countryman Cooper SE ALL4 Untamed Edition

Exclusive design and equipment features make the largest and most versatile model of the British premium brand the perfect companion for spontaneous excursions beyond the bounds of urban mobility. From November 2022 the MINI Untamed Edition will emphasise the robust charisma of the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 with the new Nanuq White paint finish.

Two drives with a total of 162 kW/220 hp system output deliver sporty driving fun on and off the road. The front wheels are driven by a three-cylinder engine with 92 kW/125 hp, and the rear wheels are powered by an electric motor generating 70 kW/95 hp. The MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 (combined fuel consumption: 2.1 – 1.7 l/100 km according to WLTP, 2.1 – 1.9 l/100 km according to NEDC; combined power consumption: 15.5 – 14.8 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, 14.8 – 14.1 kWh/100 km according to NEDC, CO2 combined emissions: 47 – 39 g/km according to WLTP, 48 – 44 g/km according to NEDC) excels with maximum traction and driving stability even off paved roads. With an electric range of 51 kilometres, the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 can also be driven in sporty style in urban environments without producing any local emissions.

    Untamed design features

The special edition highlights the robust design of the MINI ALL4 exterior look with the new Nanuq White paint finish and underlines the sporty character of the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4. The body finish appears on the lower air intake surround including the suggested underride guard, the air curtain inserts in the front apron and the side sills, as well as on the reflector inserts and the lower insert in the rear apron.

The contrasting Frozen Blue Stone paint finish adds to the characteristic look of the edition model with graphic details. Four diagonal stripes in the lower area of each door as well as the inlays and carrier plates of the side scuttles are painted in this colour. A graphic pattern inspired by a mountain landscape in the same colour also features on the side scuttles and door sill trims where the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 in the Untamed Edition is drawn to. The “UNTAMED” lettering can be found on the rear side windows.

In the interior, the characteristic mountain landscape graphic also adorns the discreet pins on the outer section of the seat backrests. The illuminated decorative trim in Frozen Bluestone bears the striking landscape pattern, too. On longer excursions, an additional effect on the instrument panel appears when darkness sets in: The “UNTAMED” lettering then also lights up here in night design. What is more, from November 2022, two new equipment details will enhance the interior: The optional panoramic glass roof and the additional choice of HIFI speakers from Harman Kardon.

In addition to the Nappa sports leather steering wheel with edition-specific lettering in the lower spoke, the edition vehicle also stands out thanks to its extensive range of equipment. In addition to the LED headlights with extended features, the extra MINI Driving Modes as well as the Connected Media function, the standard equipment range is now extended by the MINI Driving Assistant, which includes further functions that improve comfort and safety.

  • MINI Multitone Edition

MINI has launched a brand-new limited edition for the MINI Electric; the Multitone Edition, with exclusive designs on both the exterior and interior of the car.

Limited to just 200 examples in the UK, the MINI Multitone Edition symbolises the diversity within the MINI community and is offered with an edition-exclusive multitone roof design. Extending from the windscreen frame to the rear across the entire roof, the gradient starts with Aspen White before transitioning through the subdued grey shade of Melting Silver II then finishing in Jet Black.  The unique look created by this colour gradient is complemented in the MINI Multitone Edition by an abstract, white rainbow on the roof, which is also featured throughout the design of the special edition.

This special look is made possible by the innovative wet-on-wet painting process used by the British MINI plant in Oxford. With this Spray Tech paint finish, the three colour shades are applied directly one after the other. Due to changing environmental conditions, deviations in the colour pattern may occur, making each MINI Multitone Edition vehicle unique.

Offered on MINI Electric for the first time, the new MINI Multitone Edition is presented exclusively in Sage Green Metallic, which has previously only been available on the MINI Countryman.

The black or chrome trims surrounding the headlights and MINI badge have been replaced and are offered for the first time in White alongside 17” Scissor Spoke 2-tone wheels.

On the exterior of the vehicle, a graphic rainbow motif made up of Indian Summer Red and Sage Green colours can be found on the C-Pillar with matching-coloured designs also found on the side scuttle and door sills, and exclusive self-levelling wheel caps in a two-tone design.

These motifs continue into the interior of the vehicle, where logos can be found on the sun visor, floor mats, cockpit facia and steering wheel. Customers of the MINI Multitone Edition will also receive a 3D printed key car in Sage Green.

The MINI Multitone Edition is offered to market as a MINI Electric Level 2, featuring front heated seating, automatic dual zone air conditioning, sports leather steering wheel and sports seats as standard. Also standard is a 8.8” centre display screen, Apple CarPlay, MINI Navigation system, cruise control, MINI Driving Modes, rain senior with automatic headlight activation, rear view camera and rear park distance control.

The new MINI Electric Multitone Edition is limited to just 200 units in the UK .

  • The MINI Concept Aceman: the first all-electric crossover model in the new MINI family.

    MINI Concept Aceman Front

The new MINI family is taking shape. The British brand presents the MINI Concept Aceman, an initial preview of its future model generation’s new design. In this concept car we can see design-based and technological innovations from MINI that outline the brand-typical driving pleasure of the future. The first MINI crossover model for the premium small cars segment is striking, with purely electric drive, a clear and pared-back design language that has been dubbed “Charismatic Simplicity”, a new digital interior space experience and a material concept which uses absolutely no leather or chrome.

In the next model generation the MINI Cooper in the iconic three-door body shape, which has been reinterpreted time and again over its entire 60-plus-year history, will be joined by a crossover model for the first time. “The MINI Concept Aceman provides an initial glimpse of a completely new vehicle, bridging the space between the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman in the model family’s future,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI Brand. “This concept car reflects how MINI is reinventing itself for its all-electric future and what the brand stands for: an electrified go-kart feel, an immersive digital experience and a strong focus on a minimal environmental footprint.”

The beginning of a new MINI design era.

“The design language of the MINI Concept Aceman heralds the beginning of a new design era for MINI,” explains Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. Design features typical of the MINI brand have always been unmistakable, Hooydonk goes on to say. “We are returning to these now, but at the same time consistently combining them innovative technology.” With this approach we are redeveloping the MINI design icons, with all their analogue strengths, for the digital future.

Along with the clear and reduced exterior and interior design, the holistic user experience of light, movement, interaction and sound also combine to define this style. Surfaces constructed from knitted recycled textile with fresh colour contrasts combine with seamless digital controls with a new OLED display as the central interface. This all creates a unique interior experience that remains unmistakably MINI. The all-electric models of the next generation are also given an independent sound design for the first time, providing emotionally compelling drive sounds and an authentic background for the new Experience Modes.

    Creative use of space reinterpreted.

Everything about the appearance of MINI Concept Aceman expresses agility and a self-confident presence. This merges distinctive features of the brand’s two most successful models, the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman, to create a modern interpretation of a crossover model.

“The purely electric vehicle concept means the design can again be geared more towards MINI’s traditional basic values, in terms of the principle of using space creatively,” says Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design. “This creates models that take up little space on the road while offering even more comfort, more versatility and more emotion on the inside than ever before.”

A functional two-box design with short overhangs creates the maximum of space for occupants and luggage on a minimal surface area. The MINI Concept Aceman has four doors and a large boot lid with interior seating for five.

It also has the proportions you would expect of the brand with an exterior length of 4.05 metres, a width of 1.99 metres and a height of 1.59 metres, all in a particularly contemporary form. The classic three-way division of body, all-round window graphics and roof is reinterpreted. A flush transition between the vehicle body and glass surfaces makes the most of the aerodynamic properties. The clear and reduced design of the MINI Concept Aceman completely dispenses with the chrome trim around the edges that was common in earlier model generations. Wide surrounds on the lower edge of the body, strongly contoured wheel arches, large wheels, a striking roof rack, and front and rear valance panels styled as an underride protection emphasise the solid all-round characteristics of a crossover model for urban driving fun.

Vehicle front with a striking magnetism and individual accents.

The upright front of the MINI Concept Aceman strikingly announces its presence. The brand’s iconic design features have been reinterpreted to reflect its crossover characteristics and purely electric drive. The radiator grille element at the centre of the vehicle front is surrounded by clear surfaces, the traditionally hexagonal outline having been further refined into an octagonal contour. The new design is accentuated by an illuminated surround. The LED contour lighting in a shade of light green provides a striking light signature both in daytime running lights and in night design.

The central grille element of the MINI Concept Aceman is completely closed. Matrix LED units are integrated in its upper section to create impressive lighting effects to welcome its occupants.

The continuous contour lighting of the daytime running light brings out its sense of independence. The contour of the lights follows through to the surfaces of the outer areas of the bonnet. This further accentuates their individual expression.

Clearly designed surfaces with clearly defined edges.

Taking their cue from the bonnet, the wheel arches also feature flat and geometrically modelled surfaces. This, too, is an expression of the clarity in the new MINI design style. Precise edges also structure the body’s tight surfaces. Combined with the MINI Concept Aceman’s assertive proportions and upright front, this “edginess” signifies a progressive interpretation of the robustness and versatility characteristic of a crossover model.

A diagonal contour below the A-pillars sparks memories of the striking weld seam of the classic MINI. Surface modelling and lines create an exciting tapered effect between the front and rear wheel arches that give a dynamic expression to the side view of the MINI Concept Aceman. This intensively accentuates the powerful profile of the rear wheel arches. These are further defined by distinctive contour lines, the first of their kind on a MINI. Contour lines provide a lively play of light and shadow in the side view; a dynamic upward movement in the front area, an elongated progression and a steep downward swing. A matt green side skirt, more pronounced in the area of the doors, gives the vehicle an athletic appearance.

Characteristic elements with attention to detail and a typical MINI twist.

The clear exterior surface design is combined with signature features that emphasise an attention to detail and at the same time boast a typical MINI twist. The oblong hole outline is a recurring element with many instances, including the door openers – integrated flush with the surface for the first time in a MINI – as well as the exterior mirror caps and the MINI logo in the lower door section. The design also features in numerous details in the interior. The equally distinctive Union Jack design, acknowledging the brand’s British roots, is seen in both the rear light graphic and on the robust roof rack.

20-inch light-alloy wheels fill the MINI Concept Aceman’s generously proportioned wheel arches. The triangular outline in the centre of the rim, giving the spokes visual depth and dynamism, is a special graphic feature which is generally only noticed on second glance.

    Athletic shoulder line, powerful rear.

Generously designed surfaces and horizontal lines give the rear of the MINI Concept Aceman a striking and modern appearance, clearly emphasising the vehicle’s width. This effect is supported by a striking indentation at the transition between the body and the window graphics, which makes the most of the aerodynamic properties of the vehicle and lends it a pronounced, athletic shoulder line. In the rear perspective, this creates the cascading contour MINI is known for, gradually broadening towards the road. The dark roof spoiler and the glass surface of the rear window further reinforce this impression by visually receding into the background.

The distinctive vertical MINI rear lights provide a captivating contrast to the clear, horizontal surfaces. They also feature matrix LED units, as do the radiator grille element at the front of the vehicle and the interior of the headlights, allowing for different lighting scenarios depending on the situation. The versatile features of this crossover model are referenced by a wide, dark-coloured surround at the lower edge of the rear valence and the underride protection element integrated in the centre.

Expressive exterior colours for a lively vehicle character.

The MINI Concept Aceman’s youthful, lively character is underlined by an expressive paint finish for the body and a stylishly coordinated contrasting colour for the roof. The Icy Sunglow Green variant body paint, a light turquoise shade diving into gold, features a shade that comes through with varying levels of intensity depending on the light and the perspective. This means that it impressively tracks the subtle three-dimensionality of the surfaces and lines in the exterior. The MINI Concept Aceman roof is painted in traditional metallic British Racing Green. The dark green trim on the lower edge of the body and on the wheel arches, similar to the colour scheme on the roof, lend an attractive contrast to the light exterior colour. Splashes of neon green provide a lively effect of depth.

The roof rack has green fastening straps and an iridescent coating that creates a metallic sheen covering a wide colour spectrum of blue, turquoise, green and violet. Basic navy blue is combined with blue-grey painted spokes on the alloy wheels. The underride protection elements at the front and rear of the MINI Concept Aceman are in royal blue. The front and rear valences are also each fitted with two distinctive loudspeakers that draw the attention – not only acoustically but visually as well. The loudspeakers, which accompany the welcome scenario with a distinctive model-specific sound, feature an eye-catching pink-orange paint finish.

    Interior: MINImalism redefined.

    MINI Concept Aceman Interior

The MINI Concept Aceman interior is also dominated by a reduced design with clear contours and carefully executed details. It combines innovative technology with newly interpreted, yet typical MINI design features.

The concept car’s cockpit is consistently reduced to the bare essentials, just as the designer of the classic MINI had in mind in 1959. Alec Issigonis designed an interior which, in addition to the seats, steering wheel and gear lever, needed nothing more than a central round instrument and toggle switch bar to experience unrivalled driving pleasure.

“In the interior of the MINI Concept Aceman, we have concentrated on a simplistic appearance in combination with premium materials and welcoming colours. Digitisation enables us to make do with few operating elements and at the same time to maximise the experience in a way that is characteristic of MINI,” explains Oliver Heilmer. “The entire design is all about offering occupants a holistic experience in the interior space.”

Wide-open and gently curved surfaces in the area of the door panels and the dashboard give a generous feeling of space. The large panoramic glass roof of the MINI Concept Aceman provides an ambience flooded in light. Its glass surface is patterned by the transverse and diagonal struts of the roof rack, whose structure picks up on the Union Jack flag motif, reminding us of the brand’s origins when gazing up at the sky from the interior.

The dashboard is a flat design element styled like a sound bar that extends across the entire width of the interior in front of the driver’s and front passenger’s seats. Its soft knitted textile surfaces create a modern and homey atmosphere in the MINI Concept Aceman interior. The dashboard is connected via a support structure which, like the roof rack, displays the Union Jack pattern, re-emphasising the harmony between exterior and interior design.

Central interface and toggle switch: typical MINI harmony in digital and analogue controls.

The dashboard, extending particularly far into the interior in the central area, forms the perfect setting for the central interface, which combines all the functions of the instrument cluster and the on-board monitor as a round OLED display. True to its traditions, a toggle switch bar is set below the large screen. Touch control using state-of-the-art digitalisation and analogue functionality with physical switches are uniquely and typically combined in a way that is unmistakably MINI.

The redesigned toggle switches operate the parking brake, select gears, activate and deactivate the drive, select Experience Modes and adjust the audio system volume. Each toggle is individually designed as a rotary knob or toggle switch for the most intuitive operation.

Innovative user interface in the form of a circular OLED display.

The distinctive MINI display and operating experience scales new heights with its reinterpretation of the familiar central interface. MINI is the world’s first car manufacturer to present a circular OLED display that takes up the entire surface of the central interface. OLED technology gives the display a particularly high-quality appearance and can display strong contrasts and deep blacks. The user interface also features a completely new graphic display, a modern layout and attractively designed widgets. The display and control system in the production vehicle will be based on the latest generation of the MINI Operating System, which for the first time is built on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack. This allows for an unprecedented and particularly comprehensive expansion of digital features in the vehicle.

The display area that extends beyond the central interface is another highlight. Moving image projections can transfer the control system content to the entire dashboard, creating a unique digital experience extending right into the door panels. The projection opens up an infinite variety of representations – from a sharply outlined map to scattered images of clouds. The projection’s colour scheme and lighting mood are accompanied by appropriate sound sequences.

Three new Experience Modes for a complete vehicle experience.

Innovative Experience Modes generate new possibilities to individualise and personalise the driving experience in the interior of the MINI Concept Aceman. They combine specific displays and colour worlds, which are depicted on the central interface panel and through interior projection, and a coordinated sound stage.

The personal mode allows the user to transfer an image motif of their own free choice to the OLED display. This novel form of personalisation is complemented by a moving image projection on the dashboard which can, for example, show cloud formations, ocean waves and the shimmering surface of a swimming pool. The selected projection is accompanied by a suitable sound backdrop.

Pop-Up Mode in the MINI Concept Aceman will provide you with eventful navigation and some surprising moments. The system suggests appropriate navigation destinations based on a category selected by the user, shows the route on the OLED display and via projection onto the dashboard. For example, you can choose an attractive leisure activity in the “Adventures” category, a popular restaurant under “Tasty” or a currently active event location as a “Trending” destination. Specific sounds are played for each category to bring even more of a sense of anticipation to the experience ahead.

Vivid Mode enables an interactive design of the display area on the OLED display and the adjacent surfaces. This is an innovative entertainment function that can be used both during short breaks when stopping at traffic lights and while charging the high-voltage battery. Simply touch the touch display in the central interface to create coloured “letter bubbles” from the components of the “Aceman” lettering and move them left and right on the dashboard. The letters have their own movement algorithm and interact with each other in the projection by overlapping and forming fluid graphic shapes and patterns. The playful elements of Vivid Mode are underlined by experimental sounds whose rhythm constantly change with the interaction between user and vehicle.

Welcome scenario with the MINI Companion.

The newly developed MINI Concept Aceman user experience offers a holistic experience of lighting and sound made possible by digital technology with a flowing transition between exterior and interior even before starting your journey. It intensifies the experience of the different states of the vehicle and the interaction with the occupants. The headlights and radiator grille element, central interface and projections work together in precisely orchestrated harmony.

The exterior light show includes the display of the MINI Companion as a sensor-based animation. As soon as someone approaches the MINI Concept Aceman, they are tracked by a cloud of light in the front of the vehicle that gets brighter as they get closer. At the same time, an interactive sound emanates from the exterior loudspeakers, the intensity linked to the distance between the vehicle and the user. When the vehicle is unlocked, the matrix LED units on the grille surface display a Union Jack graphic. At the same time, the surround of the grille element lights up and the LED matrix of the right headlamp gives a friendly wink. The light animation is accompanied by an unmistakable sound sequence. It consists of four tones, each representing a letter in the MINI brand name. This sequence is called an earcon, which serves as a fixed symbol for certain events or information, in the same way that a visual icon does.

When the door is opened, a colourful graphic image is projected onto the floor in the entry area. A corresponding radial “colour burst” of maximised pixels can be seen at the same time on the round display of the central interface, accompanied by a similarly multicoloured projection directed from the roof lining onto the dashboard and door panels. The welcome scenario is completed by the words “Hey Friend” on the display and a spherical sound unfolding, in which overlapping chattering voices and music sequences create the impression of a convivial meet-up, to be further developed on the coming drive in the MINI Concept Aceman.

Progressive colour and material design in the interior.

The purist interior design is combined with a colour and material scheme specially developed for the MINI Concept Aceman. The ambience is enhanced by innovative, high-quality materials selected with a conscious eye on sustainability. Charming colour contrasts catch the eye on the minimalist door panels and in the dashboard area. There, the khaki green base colour for the background surfaces is combined with knitted textile perimeters made of light grey recycled polyester with a slight blue tinge and featuring precisely placed decorative seams.

The MINI Concept Aceman seats feature a discreet geometry with integrated headrests. Their materials as well as their colouring and graphic patterns come even more into focus. Seating surfaces have a lively, three-dimensional look achieved by a combination of textile flat knit, velvet velour and waffle weave, an over-dimensional houndstooth pattern and embroidered X and O graphics. The MINI Concept Aceman is innovative in demonstrating the great potential of textile surfaces for modern forms of design expression.

The relocation of the controls for the gear selector and parking brake creates extra free space between the driver and passenger seats. This space is put to use in the MINI Concept Aceman by a flexible centre console that extends, transparently and seemingly free-floating, into the rear area. The centre console surface offers the option to freely position storage compartments, a wireless charging station for the smartphone, cupholders or a myriad of other uses.

Consistently dispensing with chrome and leather.

Chrome elements are completely dispensed with – not only in the exterior of the MINI Concept Aceman, but also inside. Instead, the dashboard support structure creates its own high-quality, individual highlight in the interior, with its iridescent coating matching the roof support for example.

The steering wheel of the MINI Concept Aceman, like the seats, door panels and all other interior surfaces, is also leather-free. The steering wheel rim is laminated with dark green velvet velour, giving a particularly pleasant feel. The multifunction buttons are integrated under backlit textile surfaces. The “Aceman” lettering and a robust strap form the six o’clock spoke of the steering wheel.

    MINI in motorsport

Pat Moss made motorsport history in 1962, scoring the first international rally victory for MINI at the Tulip Rally. Her victory marked the beginning of the Classic Mini’s unique success story in rally sport, with 3 overall Monte Carlo Rally wins in 1964 (Paddy Hopkirk), 1965 (Timo Mäkinen) and 1967 (Rauno Aaltonen).

This string of successes included six overall Dakar Rally victories in 2012 (Leonid Novitskiy), 2013 (Stéphane Peterhansel), 2014 (Nani Roma), 2015 (Nasser Al-Attiyah), 2020 (Carlos Sainz Sr.) and 2021 (Stéphane Peterhansel).

The MINI John Cooper Works racing car “Made in Nürburg” pays homage to the racing tradition of the MINI brand in the classic colour scheme of the 1960s racing cars in red / white.

  • The MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door in the Resolute Edition

2023 Mini Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door Resolute Edition

Expressive design, inspirational driving fun, premium quality and individual style: the MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door combines all this with a classic body concept and the brand’s fascinating tradition. The new Resolute Edition of the original in the premium small car segment now captures the very essence of this unique combination. With its exclusive design and equipment features, it offers a modern re-interpretation of the authentic qualities embraced by the MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door.

In the Resolute Edition, the MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door is a prime example of traditional sporty flair. Its 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology has a peak output of 189 hp and a maximum torque of 206 ft-lbs. With the standard 6-speed manual transmission, this highly spirited small car sprints from standstill to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. When fitted with the optional 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch, it moves a touch faster – in this case the standard sprint takes just 6.4 seconds. The car’s top speed is 145 mph.

Athletic talent is part and parcel of the MINI genes. The Resolute Edition echoes the brand’s early motor racing career, in particular with a body finish that is inspired by the classic color used for British racing cars: the exterior in the Rebel Green variant clearly expresses the sporting spirit of the premium small car – this finish was previously exclusive to the top athlete MINI John Cooper Works. The body color is combined with a finish in Pepper White for the roof and exterior mirror caps. Bonnet stripes with parallel lines in light and dark gold tones along with exclusive 18-inch light alloy wheels in Pulse Spoke Black round off the sporty appearance of the edition vehicle.

A clear commitment to the brand’s historic roots is also signaled by the “RESOLUTE” inscription on the bonnet stripes and door sill finishers. Hallmark design features are finished in exclusive Resolute Bronze. This includes the headlight surrounds, the radiator grille and rear lights, the side scuttles on the front side panels, the door and tailgate handles, the air intakes in the front apron and the fuel filler cap. An attractive contrast is provided by the brand logos and model inscriptions, which like the inner frame and crossbar of the radiator grille and the tailpipe trim of the exhaust system are finished in Piano Black.

An authentic interior atmosphere geared towards driving fun is ensured by the anthracite-colored roof liner and sports seats in exclusive Black Pearl/Light Chequered fabric/leatherette, which are combined with black armrests and knee rolls. The range of standard equipment also includes the Nappa sports leather steering wheel. An edition emblem is featured on the bottom spoke of the Nappa sports leather steering wheel and on the floor mats.

The high-quality and authentic style of the MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door in the Resolute Edition is further highlighted by means of distinctive interior surfaces. Against the black background of these surfaces, parallel and evenly curved lines in a light golden tone form an exquisite pinstripe pattern, also echoing the structure of the bonnet stripes. The design features of the Edition are atmospherically showcased by the lighting package, with LED units that provide targeted interior illumination, as well as by the Ambient Light, which additionally includes such features as a laser-engraved ring for the central instrument and also light piping in the doors and cockpit area, as well as illuminated door handles and door entry areas. The MINI Driving Modes likewise form part of the equipment package for the MINI Cooper 2 Door in the Resolute Edition. A toggle switch can be used to activate more strikingly sporty characteristics in the vehicle’s drive and suspension systems.

The MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door Resolute Edition, available from March 2022 production has begun to arrive at US MINI dealers.
