  • Corvette ZR1 C6 Taking Out Two Mercedes-AMGs? [VIDEO]

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 vs Mercedes SLS AMG vs Mercedes C63 AMGMercedes-AMG fans will hate this video, because it shows how a Vette C6 literally destroys two AMGs in a drag race. Everything is matter of seconds, but they are in favor of the Chevy. What’s even sad is that one of German-made cars was actually tuned. And can you believe that after the tuning, which gave the C63 AMG the strength of 700HP, it still couldn’t beat the Corvette ZR1?

Well, to be honest there are also some tweaks done on the Chevrolet, like the Stage 2 kit for the engine, which gives it the immense power of 720HP. And this is why it could actually beat the two Mercedes-AMGs. Wonder whether it could do this in case they all have kept their stock outputs? Especially the 570HP SLS AMG. What do you think?

  • Vorsteiner Releases Custom Mercedes C63 AMG

Vorsteiner Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Front View Vorsteiner Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is something that I just couldn’t let slip through my fingers. The reason for this is because I simply find it amazing. Just take a look at its pictures in the gallery and you’ll be assured of that in an instant. And if you think that the matte black exterior paint scheme has been done by the California-based tuner, you would be wrong.

This color comes as a standard from the Mercedes factory and it looks so good that one might think it is a custom work. But it isn’t. The experts at Vorsteiner took advantage of this fact, stepped on it and created an exceptional vehicle, worth of a lot of attention.

How did the customization specialists change this C63 AMG? First and foremost they decided to complement the great looks of the car with carbon fiber. Hence, the new front spoiler and rear diffuser were born.

Then they added new in-house made Carbon Graphite 19-inch V-FF 103 wheels and coupled them with huge low profile tires.

No changes under the hood have been made, but this does not disappoint me because the Mercedes can still show-off with its 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine. It produces 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque and I am definitely not greedy for more.

  • See How this Mercedes C63 AMG is Boosted to 590HP [VIDEO]

Let me introduce you to this more powerful C63 AMG. You might think that it is enough for a Mercedes to carry the AMG designation, but many are on a different opinion. It seems that for the tuners at DTE-Systems, a new German customization studio, car’s stock 476 hp aren’t enough, because these are the horses that the new variant of the vehicle produces.

The main goal of the modification specialists was to prepare the car in the battle for supremacy against rivals like the BMW M3 and Audi RS4. Hence, they have created a special performance enhancement package for the C63 AMG, called DTE FSR14.

The in-house made chip-tuning have boosted the power and torque of the 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine of the emblematic model with 116 hp and 166 Nm. Therefore the horses have grown from 476 hp (350 kW) to 590 hp (434 kW), while the torque from 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) to 816 Nm (602 lb-ft). Now, that’s a thing, isn’t it?

In addition, the development engineers also reshaped the power and torque delivery characteristics, thus ensuring optimum everyday driveability. And in order to ensure maximum performance accompanied by minimum load, DTE-Systems have utilized multi-map technology that offers a choice of driving behavior.

At last, you can also check out the video, which shows the performance enhancement done for this Mercedes-Benz:

The engine of the C-Class is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission, while this of the AMG GT to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G dual-clutch transmission, which explains why the torque of the latter car is lower.

Furthermore, Posaidon engineers are currently working on additional updates for the M177 and M178 engines. For their improvement they will use new turbochargers, free-flow exhaust systems and other hardware changes. At last, for additional safety, the tuners offer speed camera warning system which is integrated within the factory navigation system.

  • Loewenstein Impress With LM63-700 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

Loewenstein-LM63-700-Mercedes-Benz-C63-AMG-shadowLoewenstein-LM63-700-Mercedes-Benz-C63-AMG-mediumIt’s not easy making a break in the aftermarket niche. It takes time and determination to build a good image. Only then will the majority of people will feel secure in handing in the keys to their prised stock-mobiles.

All that being said, we would like to wish good luck to the young, up-and-coming tuner house from Germany, Loewenstein Manufaktur. Here’s their latest creation which started off a as Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

“457 hp”, they must have said, “not nearly good enough.”

Thus, we open the hood and find a Magnuson-Roots displacement compressor and a big intercooler. Both installed and deinstalled as easy as one, two, three. Plug a few cables in and you have yourself a 702 hp 6.2-liter V8 plant with 883 NM of torque itching to destroy the rear tires. It won’t though. “The engine capacity does not descend “uncontrolled” on the rear wheels, but unleashes rather more elegantly and comfortably thanks to a continuous and flat torque curve”. They say. If you, nevertheless, feel that the power is way too overwhelming, there’s an optional on/off button available that goes right on the center console.

Loewenstein have also provided their own prototype coilover kit and the fine tuning has been made with the help of ZF Sachs. For that extra something, there’s also an automatic limited slip differential available. An in-house high-performance braking system, on the other hand, gives you all the stopping power you need: 8-piston calipers and 380-mm disks at the front; and 4-piston calipers and 356-mm disks at the back.

    Visual treats:

Matt carbon external mirros, front spoiler back diffuser compile, what Loewenstein call, the “carbon-fiber exterior program”. At the back you also see the company’s own exhaust pipes peaking out – part of a system that employes an exhaust manifold with substitute primary catalytic converter pipes as well as a Loewenstein performance module.

Wheel choice varies between the 1-piece “Klassik” rims in sizes 8.5×19 and 9.5×19 with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in dimensions 235/35ZR19 and 265/30ZR19; and the 20-inch multi-piece “Rennsport” rims in sizes 8.5- and 10.5-inch. They wear even lower and wider Michelin Pilot Super Sports (front: 235/30ZR20, rear: 285/25/ZR20).

Inside, one finds a bi-color theme on the predominantly leather/Alcantara interior. There’s also aluminum for the pedals and carbon/aramid for the decorative strips here and there.

All in all, a very decent start for the guys Lowewenstein – a project that has surely gotten people talking.
