  • Manhart Show Off The MH6 700 BMW M6

Manhart-MH6-700-BMW-M6-shadowManhart-MH6-700-BMW-M6-mediumManhart have finally unveiled their MH6 700 BMW M6. It has been out, actually, ever since the 46th Essen Motor Show opened its doors earlier this month. Funny how some manage to slip under the radar.

The M6’s original 4.4-liter V8 with its 560 hp is in no way a slouch, but Manhart have gone the extra… several miles and amped the power up to 734 hp (because who cares about consistent naming, MH6 700?) and 953 Nm. Essentially, that means ECU tweaking, a carbon-air-intake-system and a completely new exhaust system with downpipes, sports catalytic converters and rear silencers with 100-millimeter end-pipes. Manhart say that the end result is a BMW so powerful that it is actually hard to estimate a 0 to 60 time since there’s little to no grip off the line. We don’t know how that’s a plus. Acceleration from 60 to 120 gets done in 6.3 seconds though. The top speed stands at 199 mph.

In an attempt to tame all that power, Manhart have provided a compression- and rebound-adjustable KW coilover kit. The massive Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires – measuring 265/30ZR21 at the front and 305/25ZR21 at the back – should be of help as well.

The visual treat that is the MH6 700 M6 is courtesy to the company’s Concave ONE wheels. You may have noticed that there’s also a front spoiler, a new engine hood with big vents on it, a diffusor at the back and a trunk-lid spoiler. Every bit of that kit is carbon fiber. This specific vehicle has a very subtle Manhart “seal of approval” so to speak on each of its sides. It’s an embossing effect on the full-body aluminum metallic wrap.

  • BMW M6 G-Power vs Alpina B6, GT-R AMS Alpha 12+, Cayenne Turbo S, M6 ESS

Dragtimesinfo has published a video – BMW M6 G-Power SKIII with 750HP making several starts versus Alpina B6 with 540HP, Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ with 1500HP, BMW M6 ESS VT3+ with 950HP and Porsche Cayenne II Turbo S with 550HP.

The first start is against the B6, which set personal absolute record on ¼ mile – 12.807 seconds, but it wasn’t enough to beat the 210HP more powerful M6 G-Power, which finished the 1 mile race in 30.499 seconds with 282 km/h.

The second start is versus the mighty Alpha 12+, which obviously won the race, but the information in the end is wrong (they switched the tables for M6 ESS and the GT-R). So, the GT-R finished in 27.245 seconds with 342 km/h terminal speed, which is pretty slow time, while the M6 G-Power needed 29.930 seconds with 292 km/h.

In the third race, the Cayenne II Turbo S stopped the clock at 32.453 seconds with 252 km/h, which is pretty good for a big SUV. What is more, it was driven by a lady – Olga G.

The last start is against the mighty M6 ESS VT+, which finished in 28.358 seconds with 303 km/h, while the M6 G-Power needed 29.930 seconds with 291 km/h terminal speed, which is personal absolute record on 1 mile.

  • 2014 BMW M5 and M6 with optional Competition Package

BMW will offer an optional Competition Package for the new 2014 M5 and M6 (Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe) facelift models. Besides the additional equipment, the package will also boost the engine. The Competition Package open up a new dimension of dynamics in customary BMW M style.

The 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 is going to produce 575HP (423 kW), instead of 560HP (412 kW). Although the power increase is insignificant, surely it will provide better acceleration. The engine is connected to a 7-speed M dual clutch gearbox and an Active M Differential at the rear axle.

Other performance components are  M carbon ceramic brakes, updated suspension and damping systems, tuned stabilizer bars, 10 mm lowered ride height and new hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering with M-specific Servotronic function. There is also a set of new 20” M alloys and a sport exhaust system with custom M black chrome twin tailpipes.

The contents of the Competition Package make for optimised performance characteristics in all models, as demonstrated for example by 0.1 seconds being shaved off the standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time and 0.2 seconds when accelerating from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph).

Cornering dynamics and elasticity are also enhanced – something that is noticeable in everyday driving but most powerfully experienced on the race track. In particular in conjunction with the optional M carbon ceramic brakes, all the driving dynamics attributes associated with BMW M automobiles are experienced at the highest level.

  • BMW M6 Coupe F12 [video]

BMW US has released a nice video for the fans, where a brand new 2012 M6 Coupe (F12) with Matt Mullins behind the steering wheel is raced over special paper to create unique autographs for M fans across the world with the help of specially applied ink to the tire treads.

The new M6 is powered by twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine delivering 560HP (412 kW) and 680Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission. 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) – electronically limited. When fitted with the optional M Driver’s Package, top speed can be increased to 305 km/h (189 mph).

The shock absorbers are electro-hydraulically operated trough the car’s Variable Damper Control (VDC) again with three settings. Driver aids come in many abbreviations such as DSC, ABS, CBC and DBC but thankfully all can be overridden with the very important M Dynamic Mode (MDM) which allows you to do what one must do with an M car – wheel spinning, oversteer and other tire-destructive activities.

    Enjoy the video!
