    Overfinch-Range-Rover-GTS-X-thumbOverfinch-Range-Rover-GTS-X-medium

More pictures of the Overfinch Range Rover GTS-X have been relased so we can safely say that it’s now official.

If we manage to neglect the fact that the GTS-X is orange, we might have the chance to appreciate it’s other, more prominent features. Take the wheels for example – 22” forged “Titan” alloys, beefed up Brembo vented and drilled 380 mm disks, a lowering module and an integrated roof spoiler.

Inside, the seats are all black leather with carbon fiber patches and a contrast orange stitching. The headlining, door cards, mats, pillars and the dashboard surround share the same theme. The steering wheel, with its flat bottom is also material and color coordinated. The instruments also correspond to the overall GTS-X appeal.

Most importantly however, through some ECU magic, the Overfinch Rangie’s 5.0-liter supercharged engine churns out 575 bhp. An Overfinch exhaust system with switchable valve release makes sure you know all of that.

  • Project Burberry Range by Carlex Design

Carlex-Design-Range-Rover-Burberry-TProject “Burberry Range” by Carlex Design is obviously done for the ladies, because its main source of inspiration was the typical Burberry tartan and the special way of connecting structures, which can be seen on luxury Burberry Handbags.

We spent thousands of hours working on this car because I wanted to ensure it isn’t seen as a conventional car but as something more serious for the road and I am quietly confident that our customers will enjoy a great deal of motoring supremacy with this outstanding vehicle.”

  • Land Rover Defender Going Rural With The XTech Special Edition

Land-Rover-Defender-XTech-SE-thumbThe Land Rover Defender has always been a work horse and whoever is trying to steer it into the world of luxury can be proved wrong with this special edition. It’s the Defender Xtech Special Edition – a rugged looking, off-road going rangie But is that really the case?

Don’t be fooled by the grand MTR off-road tires on it’s 16-inch alloy wheels. Nor should you be humbled by the XTech‘s Ford 2.2-liter diesel engine which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. (that engine has actually specifically chosen to comply with Euro V emission regulations). The paint job works to a certain extend but once you step inside, marks of the Special Edition’s squeamishness became widely apparent.

The interior is mostly white leather and there are Land Rover logos everywhere – on the headrests and down on the carpets, embossed or woven. That is not the rugged way. As complementary equipment, you get Air Conditioning, Anti-Lock Brakes with Electronic Traction Control, central locking and heated seats and windscreen. All that for the price of £27,995 ($43,440).

Main point: The Land Rover Defender Xtech, with it’s cool name and it’s black wheel arches and stylized side sills, is not a work horse. It’s a high-speck geek dressed as a commando.

Furthermore, they demonstrate great engineering and rally design. The partnership will put attention on the Bowler EXR rally car, but engineering, development and parts supply will be shared with the new Bowler EXR S. The latter is the first ‘all terrain supercar’ designed to satisfy customer’s demand for the ultimate road-going rally car.

In particular, both the EXR and EXR S models use a modified version of the Range Rover Sport chassis. What they also share is the modified versions of the 5.0-litre V8 engine also utilized in Range Rover models.

The difference here is that the EXR uses a FIA-restricted naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine. This one is restricted to 300 hp (221 kW) maximum power and 582 Nm (428 lb-ft) maximum torque. The EXR is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox and Ricardo front, centre and rear differentials.

  • Overfinch Range Rover Sport GTS-X Teaser [VIDEO]

Overfinch are releasing are preparing for the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 28th – July 1st) and it shows. Here’s a teaser video of their Range Rover Sport set for a debut there. We know for a fact that it’s called the Overfinch Range Rover GTS-X – the kind of abbreviation one would normally give to a sleek, mile-crunching grand tourer and not to a boxy SUV that has the drag coefficient of a wall.

Still, Overfinch suggest that the supercharged engine the used now churns out 575 bhp (65 bhp more than the current Supercharged 5.0-liters V8 Range Rover Sport) thus enabling the GTS-X do the 0 to 60 mph run in just 5-seconds. That’s pretty impressive. Other than that, an extensive body kit overhaul is quite visible, LEDs (can’t go without them), a Brembo set of brakes and, judging by the sound, some new plumbing as well.

More details are expected to spring up as we get closer to the Goodwood Festival. As for now, enjoy the video:

  • Prior Mercedes-Benz M-Class Aerodynamic Kit

prior-mercedes-benz-m-class-w164Prior Design seem to be in a very SUV mood considering the fact that they have released yet another program for an old-ish titan. Nor really that old actually – the Mercedes-Benz M Class W164 (the one made from 2005 to 2011). Does it look any different from yesterday’s Range Rover? Well, granted that it is a Mercedes, it does but the Prior Design formula on it is basically the same.

Yes, you know it – a front bumper, side skirts a rear bumper and… mounting material. Not what we call thrilling. Okay, there’s also a hood that comes along. Mind you, that’s how things sound on paper. A quick glance at the gallery and we find that the end result is not that gray (it’s white). Despite the add-on side skirts, the M-class has managed to retain a bit of it’s ground clearance. The rear bumper blends seamlessly with the back fenders and wheel-arches while the front looks simply mean (this being an SUV, it should). There are of course LED daytime running lights. But they are optional. At the price of 329 Euros ($428), we recommend they stay that way.

As usual, all materials are made up of Dura-Flex Fiber Reinforced Plastic which is, as one might suspect, durable and flexible. No modifications on the stock Mercedes M-class whatsoever are needed.

  • Prior Design Range Rover Body Kit

PD-Land-Rover-Range-Rover-2005-kit-thumbAncient gods need accessories as well. That’s why we’ve got news from Prior Design for they have given the iconic Range Rover (2002-2005) a makeover. We are talking about nothing more drastic than a simple body kit but that’s what Prior do and they do it best.

It really is simple – a front bumper, side skirts and a rear bumper. The overall kit does make the Range Rover loose its off-road appeal but since when SUV’s have been for dirt roads? Today, it’s all about the urban look – a sense of security on the rough asphalt, the elevated stance in a traffic jam, the mind-boggling gas station receipt (wait… that’s not a plus). Anyway. Prior have given this particular Range Rover something that will make it stand out from the other icons and there are a lot of them.

Back in the days, these Range Rovers used Jaguar derived V8 engines which, at best, had 5.0-liters of displacement, 503 hp and 625 Nm of Torque – so not that ancient after all. They were, and still are the ultimate statement of clout.

All Prior Design products are made from a Dura-Flex FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) material – sturdy, flexible and paint-friendly. The whole package will set you back with around 2,280 Euros ($2,971)

  • Kahn Teaser RS250 Range Rover Evoque

Kahn-RS250-Range-Rover-Evoque-thumbThis is something new. Kahn Design releasing a teaser? Must be something big. In all honesty, it is big. A Range-Rover Evoque kind of big. It’s will be called the RS250 and all we have for now is this sketch. The release date is set for sometime in July this year.

As we have established, the base product is an Evoque. And that’s a hard piece of motoring to ruin. The sketch looks good but those LEDs on the side of the bumper simply seem too much. But hey, it’s a fashion statement so why not.

Rather surprisingly however, the overhaul will go beyond that. Yes, there will be an engine upgrade which is still kept in secret. Also, the whole program will be divided into two stages – 1 and 2.

Stage 1 will include a front bumper complete with fog lights and 3d mesh inserts (the upper grille will also be new with 3d mesh). Count the LED in as well. For the back a bumper is intended, that has diffuser which houses the tips of the stainless steel twin central crosshair exhaust system. A bootlid spoiler complements the whole look. The Evoque’s stance should be lower as well. And meaner with the 22” RS-XF alloy wheels. As a finishing touch there’s going to be a hood/roof stripe painted on.

Stage 2 will further add wide wheel arches (as if the Evoque lacks that), side skirts and a roof spoiler.

This being Khan Design, one can imagine that the whole program can be rather flexible – additional components for the exterior and the interior as well, will be available.
