The Academy Award-winner makes the 60 seconds ad experience a true masterpiece. In it he uses a colorfully stylish sock, which he compares to the ordinary beige one. With this he demonstrates how the next gen 2016 Kia Optima stands out in a segment filled with entries that look and drive the same, namely the midsize sedan segment.

Those who are content to blend in … then there are those who expect more. They’re exciting.”

In other words, the new Optima will bring about more refinement and sophistication in comparison to any other midsize sedan. The car is passionately designed and crafted, features European styling inside and out, offers significant ride and handling improvements.

It is Kia’s best-selling model and is currently offered with three engine choices, including the brand new 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The car is roomier, more luxurious than ever and comes with abundant standard equipment.

  • Kia Releases One-Off Sportage Inspired By X-Men’s Mystique [VIDEO]

Kia Sportage X-Men Apocalypse Front and Side ViewWe all know the link between Kia and X-Men. Since both brands have worked together for several projects already it is therefore logical to expect that the automobiles manufacturer will release an “X-Men: Apocalypse” themed car. It was of course designed as an advertisement of the movie which we will see in theaters next year in May. And here it is, shown in its full glory ahead of its Australian Open debut.

The unique vehicle is based on the Sportage model and it uses the character Mystique as an inspiration. You can now grasp why it features this exocentric blue “snake-like” exterior. Other cool styling elements include the emblem “X” on the redesigned front grille as well as on the tailgate, two-tones for the roof and a lot of black accents here and there (take a look on the wheel arches). Contrasting yellow body accents and a set of sporty wheels round out the exterior design scheme.

Although we are not familiar what powers this particular Kia Sportage, we know that when it debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year it was available with two engines. I bet that the character of Mystique will chose the stronger one wouldn’t she?

The first variant is driven by a naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This unit produces 181 hp (134 kW) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque. At the top of the range we have the Sportage SX Turbo, which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with four-cylinders. This one is stronger and boasts 241 hp (179 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque. The transmission options are six-speed manual or an automatic.

  • Kia Cadenza Facelift, or How To Make Even More Beautiful Vehicle

2016 Kia Cadenza faceliftKia Motors today demonstrated the upgraded and restyled exterior of the Korean domestic market Cadenza (known as K7 in Korea). This vehicle proudly showed its new beautiful and functional design, along with some sweet additions. It will go on sale overseas in 2016. Recently, Kia team comes up with wonderful projects, solutions and ideas and we all hope that this tendency will not only remain, but will also improve for future models.

The next-gen Cadenza still maintains this progressive and modern styling, but now also comes with these somehow sharper more direct and defined lines. The car is also wider, lower and more aggressively-looking. Long story short, Kia team made everything possible to make this vehicle stand out from the crowd.

Influenced by European luxury sedan appearance, the face-lifted Cadenza comes with long bonnet, wider shoulders and swept-back roofline really do make this vehicle look more confident, more stylish and elegant.

    2016 Kia Cadenza facelift

The front of the car meets everyone with reinterpretation of Kia’s well-known “tiger-nose” grille, sharp LED headlamps, more muscular fenders and overall badass-looking face. The distinctive lines join the chrome details, twin exhaust pipes and that more-massive appearance to create one-of a kind design. And frankly, Kia team one more time made a good point with restyling its own vehicles in a way that is contemporary, beautiful and functional.

  • Kia Promises to Lauch Partially-Autonomous Vehicles By 2020

2015 Kia Soul EV	Kia plans to introduce a full range of partially-autonomous driving vehicles and technologies by 2020 and by 2030 they have planned to reveal their first fully-autonomous car to the mass market. At the momentary stage Kia develops the first of its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and numerous further-enhanced engines.

    Kia Advanced Driver Assistance System

The system will basically enable all the vehicles in which it is installed to operate autonomously. How? By incorporating different technologies, some of which are:

“Recognition” – this term explains the new sensors that will detect other vehicles and hazards, along with the ability to read the road signs. And of course, this all means that the vehicle will be capable to identify poor road conditions. How cool is that?

“Judgment” – There will be also advanced computing systems that will allow making of decisions about the information gathered via ADAS sensors.

“Control”- Active electronics and mechanical systems will allow the vehicle to make numerous decisions in every given situations. Even though it still sounds too futuristic and brave, we tend to believe that Kia team will make its best to make these system adequate caretakers.

    The partially-autonomous Kia vehicles

As said above, Kia plans to demonstrate the first almost-autonomous ADAS geared vehicles by 2020. But what about the details?

Along with the innovative ADAS technology, the independent cars will be geared with Highway Driving Assist, Lane Guidance System and Advanced Smart Cruise Control. HDA is made to maintain a safe distance from other cars, while it will keep the car in its lane. The system will also assist in cases of danger with the activation of numerous safety features.

SEE ALSO: Kia Releases First Teaser Sketches of Niro Hybrid Crossover

Traffic Jam Assist, on the other hand, will help to make light work of heavy congestion by gathering information during highly congested traffic situations. The system will also employ wide range of sensors and will keep maintaining that safe distance from other vehicles within its line.

And in order to make the parking as easy as possible, Kia will also develop special technologies to enhance the low-speed maneuvers. This will be possible with the latest Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) that can enable the vehicle to park itself in parallel or perpendicular spaces with minimal driver intervention. The brand will also offer the Remote Advanced Parking Assist System (RAPAS). It will allow Kia vehicles to park themselves when the driver presses the smart key button while within a certain range of the car. Sweet, right?

    2015 Kia Soul EV

In fact, all these technologies will also be offered on latest production models, including Sorento and the soon-to-be-launched Optima and Sportage. The advanced systems are also created with enhanced safety and comfort in mind, in order to enable appropriate reaction in cases of road accidents.

By 2030 Kia promises to bring us a fully independent lineup of cars.

The fully-autonomous Kia vehicles will come with special R&D resources on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. And by enabling vehicles to effectively “communicate” with their surroundings, Kia automobiles will be able to make the ADAS technology even more effective and more efficient.

    Concept vs Production Niro

    Kia Niro Sketch Rear View

We have featured the gallery of the concept below, so you can make a comparison between the sketches and the 2013 version. What we can clearly see is that the concept version has three doors with gullwing configuration. Fortunately, Kia has removed the outdated gullwings and added five doors instead. That’s not only more beautiful, but it is also more practical and perfect for a production variant of the car.

Just like the concept, the sketches reveal that the future Niro will have a low profile and sleek proportions, with sporty stance and athletic attitude. Kia also disclosed that the car will be made with aero body panels so that the car can make the most of its efficiency.

  • Kia Goes Bad For SEMA with Forte Koup Mud Bogger

Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger Front ViewKia Forte Koup Mud Bogger is one of the six custom vehicles that the company is going to present at the SEMA Show this year. The ‘car’ looks like it is chasing adventures and this definitely intrigues us, because Kia said that each of the hand-built concepts showcases unique geographic regions found throughout the country.

This of course has its aim and it is to show the variety of car cultures that define America’s way of looking at automobiles. If you wonder which part of the US is representing the Forte Koup Mud Bogger, we should immediately tell you that it is the wild American South. But you probably have already figured this, since the image depicts the inexplicable joy of getting dirty on all fours.

SEE ALSO: Kia cee’d Lineup Receives Some New Engines

And even with a single look at this unique Koup, we can surely say that it can tackle any extreme terrain. This is because of its huge four-inch body and suspension lift as well as the gigantic 28-inch off-road rubbers.

It is necessary to add that to accommodate the massive wheel and tire combination, Kia has widened the fenders and side skirts and added extra riveted fender flares. Another cool thing about this Bogger is that it features rather luxurious panoramic roof with a vinyl pushback top. This is how the sun can shine over the stripped-down interior where the carpet has been removed and the entire floor has been lined with Line-X protective coating.

How about the stock seats? They have all been replaced with two Sparco Evo II Red Race Seats and hand-built roll cage in powder coated white. To sum up, the Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger is definitely for those looking for off-road fun that will take them to a road less traveled.
