  • Jeep makes further approaches to become a greener brand

    2020 Jeep Wrangler UnlimitedIn its ever-evolving efforts to monitor and reduce the environmental impact on vehicles, FCA has completed its latest Global Warming Potential analysis. The endeavors result in the revised 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited – compared to its predecessors, this machine offers an overall GWP which is lower with 15 per cent. This GWP improvement was calculated using industry-standard software which examines numerous factors associated with vehicle’s design, production and on-road performance. Such factors include:

    • the environmental impact of fuel production and delivery
    • material use
    • the vehicle’s own fuel consumption

    • Determinations are based on 150,000 miles of operation. And improvements are measured by contrasting anticipated C02-equivalent greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions, with those of comparable vehicles.
    • C02-equivalent, or CO2e, is a term for describing various greenhouse gases as a common unit. For any quantity and type of greenhouse gas, CO2e signifies the amount of CO2 that would have an equivalent effect on global warming.
    • In this case, the comparison was made with the previous-generation Wrangler Unlimited, as powered by its only available engine – FCA’s award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 – and a since-discontinued five-speed automatic transmission.

    Additionally, new Wrangler’s performance was measured as equipped with the optional 270hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 power unit, featuring a built-in stop-start function. Each new Wrangler Unlimited has the potential to account for a 14-metric-ton reduction in GHG emissions, which is equivalent to:

    • GHG emissions of three passenger cars, driven for one year
    • C02e output from 7.7 tons of coal burned in a power-generation plant
    • C02e produced when powering 2.4 average American homes for one year

    2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

    Further improvements include FCA’s TroqueFlite eight-speed automatic gearbox, which can be mounted to either the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 unit or the optional 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. Additionally, for the first configuration, the advanced gearbox helps the 2020 Wrangler Unlimited achieve a 21 miles-per-gallon rating in the US Environmental Protection Agency’s combined city/highway test cycle.

    In fact, for the Sahara trim level, 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited may be geared with a version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 that features FCA’s eTorque mild-hybrid technology. Additionally, the new-gen Wrangler Unlimited can be specified with a 3.6-liter V6 from FCA’s award-winning Pentastar engine lineup. It also comes with a choice of a TorqueFlite eight-speed gearbox or a six-speed manual system. Neat!

  • TFLtruck names Ram and Jeep winners of Gold Winch Awards!

    2020 Jeep GladiatorThe Fast-Lane Truck (TFLtruck) has named two FCA vehicles as winners of the 2020 Gold Winch Awards. The first is the 2020 Jeep Gladiator, which has earned the Gold Winch award as the Best Mid-Size Off-Road truck of the year. The second vehicle is the 2020 Ram Power Wagon and it has managed to earn Gold Winch awards as the Best Heavy Duty Off-Road truck of the year.

    For Gold Winch Evaluations, TFLtruck’s editors tested vehicle on demanding paths in Colorado, reaching high elevations with terrain that varies from loose gravel to rocks and snow. The Gladiator’s overall performance on-road and off-road was so smooth and flawless that it has managed to impress all of the jury members.

    Judges have also recognized Power Wagon’s off-road capabilities and equipment. Especially notable were the special suspension system, the 2-ich factory lift, locking front and rear differentials, disconnecting front sway bar and the 12,000lb winch. After the votes were counted, 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and 2020 Ram Power Wagon were determined to be the winners of each respective segment.

  • Jeep reveals a revised edition of the Wrangler Rubicon Recon

    2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Jeep brand returns the Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition to the iconic lineup and gear it with a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder power unit with eTorque mild hybrid technology. New Recon edition is based on the Wrangler Rubicon and features sexy exterior and neat interior features. Let’s check them out!

    2020 Jeep Wrangler’s exterior design features heavy-duty rock rails, body-color fenders, LED headlights and taillights, glossy black finish for the grille with body-color surrounds, Recon fender badge, matte black fender vent decal with the American flag, exclusive 17-inch aluminum wheels with black finish, matte black hood stripe decal and Rubicon gray grille throats and headlamp inserts.

Also, there’s Rock-Trac NV241 two-speed transfer case with a 4.0:1 low-range gear ratio. The new model lineup also includes electric front and rear locking differentials, a disconnecting front sway bar and 33-inch Falken Wildpeak Mud-Terrain tires, taking the Wrangler to the next level of capability and versatility.

    Wrangler Rubicon Recon edition will be offered in Black, Granite Crystal, String-Gray, Billet Silver, Ocean Blue, Sarge, Bikini, Firecracker Red, Punk’n, Hellayella and Bright White.

    2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has a starting price of $43,380 for the two-door model and $46,880 for the four-door variant.

    2020 Jeep North Edition Models As the bitter cold winter comes closer, Jeep team delivers fresh new North Edition models across its lineup. All new vehicles are geared with brand’s legendary 4×4 setup and host tons of handy technologies and features that will make winter trips a breeze.

    North edition models are available for sale and can already be ordered at Jeep dealers. Renegade North Edition will arrive in March 2020.

  • Jeep Renegade receives Superior Rating from IIHS

    2020 Jeep Renegade2020 Jeep Renegade has earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS. The rating applies to Jeep Renegade models produced after September this year, when geared with the brand’s optional Automatic Emergency Braking technology, Forward Collision Warning-Plus, and LED projector headlamps.

    These are among more than 70 standard and optional safety features. Additionally, Renegade offers the segment’s first availability of Forward Collision Warning-Plus and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus.

    Furthermore, Renegade’s optional Forward Warning-Plus was rated as “superior”, the highest possible rating awarded by IIHS in front crash prevention. The system initially warns the driver to take action in order to avoid collisions. If he fails to do so, the system autonomously activates.

    The Top Safety Pick rating is also enabled by Jeep’s available LED projector headlamps with optional automatic high-beam control. The available feature switches headlamp models between high- and low- beam function, depending on traffic conditions, without driver intervention.

    Jeep Renegade has also managed to record “good” results in five additional crashworthiness tests.

  • Jeep revives the Wrangler Freedom edition! Check it out!

    2020 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Jeep brand revives the Wrangler Freedom edition with a special edition! The new 2020 model is a tribute to the US military members and is characterized by military-themed exterior and interior design cues.

    The SUV is based on the Wrangler Sport S model and features the American flag and the Jeep brand on both the driver and passenger side near the front fender, a new Oscar Mike badge a military phrase that translates to “On the Move” at the rear tailgate, along with a premium Sunrider soft-top and Satin Carbon-painted 17-inch aluminum alloys.

    In terms of interior, the Jeep Wrangler Freedom offers Mckinley black cloth seats with black leather bolster with Light Tungsten accent stitching, Oskar Mike embossed on the seat backs, on steering wheel, doors and front armrest.

    Additionally, the Wrangler Freedom Edition will be first offered in Firecracker Red, Bright White and Ocean Blue for the first production run. Black, Granite Crystal, Sting Gray, Billet, Punk’n, Hellayella and Bikini color schemes are following shortly after.

  • 2019 Jeep Cherokee wins TOP SAFETY PICK award from IIHS

    2019 Jeep CherokeeNew 2019 Jeep Cherokee midsize SUV has earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

    The rating applies for all 2019 Jeep Cherokee models produced after April this year and only when geared with brand’s optional and exclusive Automatic Energy Braking (AEB) technology, Forward Collision Warning Plus and LED projector headlamps with optional automatic high-beam control.

    Alongside these upgrades, new 2019 models feature Jeep’s high-strength-steel upgrades as A-pillar and hinge-pillar, which are also among the key engineering changes that contribute to the winning of the prestigious award.

    Furthermore, Jeep Cherokee has managed to score the highest “good” results in most of the crashworthiness tests – in all six, three of which simulate frontal impacts. The remaining exams inflict damage done with a side impact, rear impact and rollover.

    However, Forward Collision Warning-Plus was grated with a “superior” rating, which is an exclusive award given only to the best and most advanced systems and technologies. This optional feature includes sensor-fusion technology, which blends camera capability with radar detection in order to determine when an impact is imminent. When it does, the gadget warns the driver to take action and if he doesn’t act quick enough, the autonomous braking system engages.
