Honda FCV Concept To Make NAIAS Debut in January

Honda FCV Concept will demonstrate its capabilities at the 2015 NAIAS this January. The vehicle will be making a North American debut showing-off the exterior and interior styling evolution. The next-generation zero emissions Honda fuel-cell vehicle is created with the aim to provide significant gains in terms of packaging, interior space and fuel efficiency. At the same time it is also destined to show real-world performance due to its driving range in excess of 300-miles!

Honda’s next fuel-cell vehicle is anticipated to launch in the U.S. following its introduction in Japan. This is scheduled to happen around March 2016. The new FCV Concept includes a low and wide aerodynamic body and impresses with its clean flowing lines.

Inside, the cabin strives to attain harmony between man and machine. This is achieved via the new powertrain packaging techniques that have delivered even greater passenger space. There is seating for up to five people.

FCV Concept uses electricity produced through the chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen as a power source for its motor. In addition, the car is equipped with a 70 MPa high-pressure hydrogen storage tank that delivers a range that exceeds 700 km. The tank can be easily refilled in only three minutes.

We have seen the Honda FCV Concept making a world debut in Japan this November. After this, Honda announced that it will make an effort to support the wider introduction of fuel-cell vehicles. It will provide FirstElement Fuel with $13.8 million in financial assistance to build additional hydrogen refueling stations throughout the state of California.

In fact, in July 2002 the original FCX became the first EPA- and CARB-certified fuel-cell vehicle. Moreover, it was world’s first production fuel-cell vehicle introduced to the United States and Japan. In 2008 Honda was the first manufacturer to build a production fuel-cell vehicle. What is more, the company was also the first manufacturer to create a fuel-cell vehicle dealer network.

Acura Shares First Glimpses at 2016 NSX Production Model [VIDEO]

As a huge fan of Honda the next news are extremely exciting for me! And it is not “a big deal” unless you have been waiting to see the production version of the highly anticipated 2016 Acura NSX supercar. Yes, that’s right! The successor of the legendary original NSX is scheduled to make its global debut on 12^th of January at the next edition of the North American International Auto Show. The model will not only include the styling cues of its predecessor but also will be a real example of the production car, which his slated to launch in 2015.

Acura has released four images giving not so vague idea of what we are to expect. In addition, there is also a new video called “My Way” which comes to promote the NSX. The 30-second teaser video shares an early glimpse of the production car and the sound of its three-motor, twin-turbocharged Sport Hybrid power unit. You can view the film below.

In addition, the Japanese company is promising that the NSX is destined to deliver a ‘new sports experience’. The new model will serve as the ultimate expression of Acura performance that is fueling a reenergized brand.

The NSX concept model was revealed for the first time at the same show in 2012. After three years of intensive development Acura is finally displaying the next-gen supercar. What we have also understood is that the team behind this project has developed a human-centered supercar that responds to the driver’s will and that builds upon the NSX heritage.

Eco-Friendly Honda N-Box Slash Debuts in Japan

Honda N-Box Slash is a new mini passenger car which is specifically created for Japanese customers. Its strange forms and “box-like” shape is what makes this model truly distinctive. The N-BOX Slash is scheduled to be released on 22nd of December and until then no detailed information will e revealed. We have only received scarce data and some photos which you can view below.

As visible, the car s based on the layout of the N-series, but if you look carefully thorough the images you will see that it includes exclusive packaging and excellent features. It is better looking in comparison to the 2013 N-One and undoubtedly looks more interesting.

Take for instance the fact that Honda has prepared five distinctive exterior and interior designs. Furthermore, the car weighs less than its predecessor. It also includes range of innovations and is built upon the concepts of retro lightweight passenger hatchback, comfort and excellent economy.

The N-series currently feature the following range of models: N-BOX or NTT box, “N-BOX + or NTT box plus, N-ONE or Enuwan and the fourth model – N-WGN or Enuwagon. The N-Series are also built to fit the rigid Kei car class, which means that they shouldn’t be longer than 11 feet and wider than feet.

We do expect to see this mini powered by the same 600cc three-cylinder engine, which drives front wheels, and that we have already seen in the already released four cars in the lineup.

Honda Introduces Most Efficient Hybrid Sedan Named “Grace”

2015 Honda Grace is the next Hybrid sedan specifically created for the Japanese market. The car has just made its sales debut in the dealerships in the country. Grace has been developed as a compact sedan which delivers excellent handling and fuel economy. This is quite a strange name for a sedan, especially a Honda one, but the name represents the passion of the development team to create a sedan which envelops the time people spend in the vehicle with their loved ones.

The car also offers spacious cabin, stately styling, high visibility and tactile qualities and agile driving experience. In addition, there is not only enough space for the rear occupants, but Honda has also provided comfort and perfect quietness for those at the back of the car.

The vehicle is powered by the SPORT HYBRID i-DCD one-motor hybrid system. It enables the driver to start in EV mode and achieve outstanding fuel economy of 34.4 km/L as well s dynamic driving performance. Moreover, Grace is also available with a 4-Wheel-Drive.

The powerplant mbines a 1.5L Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine, 7-speed DCT with built-in high-output motor and the IPU with a built-in lithium-ion battery. Due to exactly this powertrain, the car realizes its outstanding fuel.

The air conditioning outlet for the rear seat occupants is placed on the back end of the center console. As for Grace’s eight-speaker audio system, it includes a total of four tweeters located in the front of the inner door handle in front and back.

Wondering about the advanced safety and security features? Here Honda has included Advanced Compatibility Engineering body that applies company’s original G-Force Control Technology (G-CON), Pedestrian Injury Mitigation Body structure, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system, Hill-Start Assist function as well as the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and the City-Brake Active system.

2015 Honda Grace is offered in three Hybrid trim levels: DX, LX and EX that come with either a front- or a four-wheel drive. The car is currently on sale in Japan.

The new hot hatch will be in the showrooms next year. Honde promises that this will be the most extreme and high-performing Type R in the 22 year history of the red ‘H’ badge. In addition, it will bring about the beginning of a new performance era for the brand.

2016 Honda HR-V is What We Have Been Waiting For?

2016 Honda HR-V Crossover is finally here! It was fully revealed at the Ls Angeles Auto Show after being premiered as a prototype in Paris this September. The car will be arriving in dealerships early next year, when it will enter the crossover market. The small SUV features dynamic and refined exterior, shows great performance as well as fuel economy. Interior spaciousness and cabin versatility are other two qualities worth mentioning.

The unique platform design of the vehicle features center-mounted fuel tank and reconfigurable second-row “Magic Seat”, delivering 100.1 cu. ft. of passenger volume (LX) and 58.8 cu. ft. of cargo volume with the second row seats down.

The “face” of the HR-V features the typical design. However, when I saw the sides of the car, I immediately thought about the CR-V. Actually, it looks like a smaller version of Honda’s emblematic SUV with its dynamic appearance and sporty, solid stance. An element which I liked very much and which is taken from the Civic is the concealed rear door handles. So the designers managed to great a great combination of some of the best Honda designs here.

Inside, the interior is spacious enough and features soft-touch materials and details such as the bezels, stitch lines and brushed chrome and piano black highlights. The three-meter driver’s instrument cluster immediately grabs the attention with the “floating” illumination rings and brand’s ECO Assist feature. The speedometer illumination changes from white to green depending on the fuel efficiency of the car.

2016 HR-V is driven by the updated 1.8-liter SOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with i-VTEC valvetrain. It generates 138 horsepower (102 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm (127 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4,300 rpm. The unit is coupled with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Honda “G-design” shift logic, or can be linked to a slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission in the 2WD models. The all-wheel-drive drivetrain configuration features company’s Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System.

Safety performance is ensured thanks to the addition of the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) front body structure as well as the standard four-channel anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control, an Expanded View Driver’s Mirror, a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags, driver and front passenger SmartVent side airbags and side-curtain airbags and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Speaking about standard equipment we should mention the power windows, power mirrors and power door and tailgate locks, electronic parking brake, rearview camera, aluminum-alloy wheels, tilt and telescoping steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink phone interface and Pandora radio. They come in all three HR-V trims: LX, EX and EX-L.

Depending on the trim level, the crossover might get 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio telematics interface, Honda LaneWatch, Smart Entry/Push-Button Start, paddle shifters, SiriusXM radio, HD Radio and Honda Digital Traffic, heated front seats, a power sunroof, embedded navigation and leather trim.

Honda Presents Its All-new Fuel-cell Car: Honda FCV Concept

Obviously Honda wants to keep its position among the headliners by presenting its concept car titled Honda’s FCV Concept. The competition between Honda and Toyota to establish a revolutionary fuel cell technology promises some very good outcomes. If you remember, just yesterday Toyota presented its first ground-breaking environmentally-friendly Toyota ‘Mirai’ and only couple of hours later, Honda unveiled its all-new fuel-cell vehicle as well.

With its new development, Honda is seeking to establish or at least become closer to a CO₂ -free society. One of the main factors that prompts the manufacturer to continue its progress in this area is the fact that Honda sees hydrogen as a high-potential, next-generation energy carrier since hydrogen can be generated from various energy sources and is easy to store.

The recently-developed fuel-cell stack used on this concept car is 33% smaller than the previous fuel-cell stack. Nevertheless, it is able to achieve an output of more than 100 kW and output density as high as 3.1 kW/L which improves the overall performance by approximately 60% compared to the previous version of the fuel-cell stack.

The FCV Concept car is FCV is more than just environmentally responsible. The electricity that is produced through the chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen is used by the car as a power source for the motor. Moreover, the Honda FCV Concept is equipped with a 70 MPa high-pressure hydrogen storage tank that provides a cruising range of more than 700 km. The tank can be easily refilled in only three minutes.

The all-new FCV production concept model is set to go on sale in Japan by the end of March 2016 and respectfully in the U.S. and Europe.

Galpin Auto Sports has Prepared Monstrous Custom Acura TLX for SEMA

Two exclusive sketches of the Galpin Auto Sports Acura TLX were just released, showing one of the SEMA entries of the Japanese company. The TLX model will be displayed in three distinctive variants. The aim is to express the customization potential of the car and its performance character. The tuning company chosen for this task is Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) that makes a debut at the TLX. GAS TLX will be joined by the twin-turbo TLX GT Race Car, jointly developed by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and RealTime Racing, as well as a 2015 Acura TLX with the Genuine Acura Accessory package.

As you can see on the pics below, the sedan includes custom exterior styling and chassis modifications. Galpin TLX has a new signature Acura brand color, called Andaro Blue. Main modifications here are the custom aero body kit with new front and rear bumpers, side skirts and deck-lid spoiler, the custom exhaust outlets as well as the RSR Sport SI Series suspension kit with fully adjustable coilovers featuring 36-way damping adjustment.

The exclusiveness of the car is further strengthened by the special ADV5.0 M.V2 SL custom wheels in the size of 19×9 +38 at the front and 19×9+35 at the rear. The alloys are coupled with Pirelli 245/40/19 P Zero Tires and come equipped with Wilwood Superlite 6 Piston Caliper with 14″ Vented Rotor Front and Rear Brakes

Acura TLX GT Racecar is brand’s second entry. It was developed from the production by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and RealTime Racing. This means that it features HPD chassis and aerodynamic performance parts approved for Pirelli World Challenge GT-class competition. The power of this Beauty comes from its direct-injected twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which was also developed by HPD from the normally aspirated production engine.

At last, the TLX with Acura Genuine Accessory package is equipped with factory accessories developed specifically for this model. We are speaking about the Aero Kit that comprises of front, rear and side underbody spoilers, decklid Spoiler, chrome door trim, new floor mats and illuminated side sills. Not to mention the 19-in Diamond-Cut Alloy Wheels fitted with Michelin tyres in the dimension of 245/40R19.

2015 Civic Type R Presents Honda’s “Other Side”

2015 Honda Civic Type R is probably on of the most anticipated cars these days. It is soon to be launched and for this reason the Japanese company has released an interactive online film yesterday, which brings to life the brand’s “other side”. And if you want to know what is it, then you’ll definitely have to find out yourself. All right, all right, a spoiler here is that Honda’s “other side” is born from a racing heritage and thirst for innovation. And this is what this campaign heroes.

The new Civic Type R will be the most extreme and high-performing wearing the ‘Red H’ badge. As the film hints, the car is the wild child alter-ego of the Civic hatchback. An this is how the high-adrenaline dual narrative begins. The story unfolds in two parallel tales, one set during the day and the other at night.

During the day, a father is picking his daughter up from school in his white Civic. He is driving her to a surprise party. As a contrast enters the night-time narrative, which shows the father’s other side, which is an undercover cop driving a crew of art thieves to a police sting, in a head-turning red Type R.

The Other Side film opens with the Civic in the daytime. Then come titles prompting interaction as they roll. The person viewing all this can switch between the Civic and the Type R narrative, simply by pressing the ‘R’ button on their keyboard. In addition, the press of the ‘R’ button puts the director’s cut into the viewers’ hands. This allows them to switch in real time between two mirrored story lines

2016 Acura ILX Gets Teased Ahead of Los Angeles Reveal

2016 Acura ILX is getting readied for an official reveal at the Los Angeles Auto Show next month. With this entry Acura is aiming to bring higher standard in the entry-premium sedan segment. The expansion in the general appeal of the car includes a comprehensive update that features a strong new powertrain, more forceful and muscular sporty exterior styling as well as entirely upgraded interior design.

Just like in the TLX model, Acura will give the upcoming 2016 ILX sharper performance focus and at the same time – greater comfort, convenience and safety. The brand didn’t reveal much more details, except for the teaser image of the rear of the car you see. The official unveiling of the ILX will happen on 20th of November at the event.

Judging by the released image it looks like the brand is getting more aggressive about moving the ILX away from its Civic roots. In fact, it also seems like it wants to turn the new model in to Acura’s future luxury car.

What we can expect in terms of power is that the new ILX will draw more of its powertrain. We don’t know whether it will be a new one or just a boosted old one. As a reminder, the previous generation ILX is driven by a 2.0 liter i-VTEC.

This unit produces 150 horsepower (110 kW) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque, and is coupled with a five-speed automatic gearbox (5AT). When equipped with the Technology Package or Premium Package, the car gets the more potent 2.4 liter i-VTEC engine that generates 201 horsepower (148 kW), and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

More details are expected to be revealed ahead of the debut, so stay tuned!

Honda Shows 2015 F1 Power Unit [VIDEO]

Honda has just released first details and looks of the forthcoming power unit, which is now under development for the 2015 FIA1 Formula One (F1) World Championship. In fact, the company has released a film during the 2014 FIA Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, previewing the F1 power unit under development. The video features the sound of the engine revving and you can view it below.

In it you will see a lot of graphics, which give a hint towards Honda’s past, and then point forward to the future. In the simulated lap is where you will hear the sound of the engine. What is concerning is that the rev seems to be unchanged and even less than the current engines.

At the R&D facility in Sakura in Japan, is where Honda is developing the 2015 F1 power unit. There it is conducting simulations as well as full-fledged bench tests of the engine while connecting the turbocharger and energy recovery systems.

At the same time, the racing operation base in Milton Keynes in the United Kingdom, has become fully operational. And the whole team is concentrating on this development, getting ready for the forthcoming start of F1 participation in 6 months.

Judging from previous years, we do expect to see a small direct-injection V6 engine which will be working together with two electric motors. One will be working with a KERS recovery system, while the other will power the turbocharger. There are no official details so far, but we definitely expect to see a figure of more than 600 horsepower. Enjoy the video!
