Porsche has announced the pricing of the new high-performance 911 GT3 model for the US. The sports car made its official debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The starting price is $130,400 without destination charge. Still, it is a lot less than the EU price without changing the currency.
It is powered by the famous 3.8 liter flat-six with 475HP (349 kW) and 438Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to a 7-speed DCT gearbox sending the power to the rear wheels. The LSD (limited-slip differential) takes care about the traction, so 0-100 km/h is in 3.5 seconds and a top speed is 315 km/h (195 mph).
All other components, such as the crankshaft, valve gear and Porsche-designed titanium connecting rods and forged pistons, were adapted or designed for the GT3. In addition, the 911 GT3 is 1.7 inches wider than the 911 Carrera S in the rear. Another distinctive feature is the large fixed rear wing, which contributes to the exemplary aerodynamics.
The highlights include a more aggressive front bumper, bigger rear fenders, widened side skirts, fixed rear wing and a new rear bumper. The 911 GT3 rolls 20” forged alloys with central locking fitted with performance tires. Last, but not least is the center-mounted dual sports exhaust system with sensational sound. As an option, Porsche offer LED headlights.

Dragtimesinfo continues to publish extraordinary videos in their Youtube channel. This time, the battle is between Porsche 911 GT3 RS 9ff,Porsche 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+.
The three highly tuned cars are going against each other on the highway starting from around 60 km/h.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS 9ff and Porsche 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 made a lot of starts, but every time the result is the same. The GT3 RS 9ff doesn’t stand a chance, despite it has 1100HP and runs on VP C-16 Race fuel and on Michelin Sport Cup tires. The 911 Turbo Protomotive just blows the competition away. IT has 1150HP and also runs on VP C-16 Race fuel.
The second part are starts between the 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ with around 1500HP running on Race fuel VP Import 120 and on Toyo Proxes R888 full slicks.
This time, the 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 is way behind the GT-R. It just can’t cope with the difference of more than 300HP in terms of power.
The GT-R runs 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 100-200 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 200-300 km/h in just 6.2 seconds, while the Porsche is way slower from 200-300 km/h – 8.3 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz has announced the 45th Anniversary Edition of the super sports SLS AMG GT3. The car comes with unique matt paint job and nice AMG light alloys in designo magno graphite finish.
The car is powered by the well-known 6.2 liter AMG V8, which is the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine. It catapults the SLS AMG GT3 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and goes all the way up to 300 km/h (186 mph).
SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary Edition also comes with carbon fiber reinforced plastic doors, boot lid, front hood, mud guards, front and rear aprons. Other elements from CFRP are the rear wings, rear diffuser and front splitter. This material is very strong and in the same time light, so it gives better balance.
The interior is also very interesting. It features a rollcage with the same finish as the exterior. The center console and the dashboard feature a similar matt carbon fiber appearance.
The price of the car is also staggering – 446,250 EURO including VAT.
Bently has announced a street legal variant of the Continental GT3 model. This means that the car will be company’s fastest production model. Key details have yet to be finalised, but Bentley is understood to be looking at a production run of around 300 cars to be built over a 12-month period circa 2014-2015. The GT3 race car was revealed at the Paris motor show and marks the return of Bentley to front-line motorsport.
The 2013 Continental GT3 will be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine with 700HP (522 kW).
The power will be put on the road through an all-wheel drive system.
Only 300 units will be produced and the price will start from £200,000.
“We now have a chance to look at all these possibilities,” said another senior source.
The race car’s extreme rear wing and the rest of the aerodynamic package would be toned down for road use. A roll cage won’t be present feature, because it’s considered too extreme for Bentley owners.
Here is a nice video of the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 (991 model), which is not on the market, yet. Dani Dominguez Mas made this clip at a gas station in Spain, where several Porsche GT3’s were stop for refilling.
The cars are caught completely undisguised and as we can see, the new GT3 has an aggressive front bumper with a splitter and a huge vent to improve downforce and cooling. Other highlights are the new rear wing and a center-mounted dual exhaust system. There is also big brake system and a set of center-locking wheels, which is very interesting.
Nothing is mentioned about the engine, but it is expected to be the new 3.8 liter naturally aspirated flat-six developing 470HP (346 kW). It will send the power on the road through the new PDK transmission. 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of more than 322 km/h (200 mph).
Aston Martin will compete in the ADAC Zurich Nurburgring 24 Hours on 19th and 20th May. Eight cars will take place in the epic battle at the world’s most famous and tough race track. The brand will field its most ambitious entry to date with four official Aston Martins – including a pair of V12-powered Vantage GT3s – supported by a further four customer cars.
More than 170 cars will start at the 24 hour race on the daunting 25km circuit that combines the legendary Nordschleife with the modern Grand Prix track.
Having focused its efforts in previous years on near production-specification cars since its 2006 Nürburgring24 Hour debut, Aston Martin will, for the first time, be represented in the senior SP9 category for FIA-homologated GT3 cars. The pair of V12 Vantage GT3s will be run in association with long-standing official partner team, Young Driver AMR.
The lead Vantage GT3, carrying the iconic #007 designation, will be driven by Johannes and Ferdinand Stuck (A) – sons of triple Nürburgring 24 Hour winner Hans-Joachim Stuck – alongside Dennis Rostek (D) and Aston Martin Racing factory driver Darren Turner (GB). Turner’s regular works team-mate, Stefan Mücke, will drive the #006 car with Tomas Enge (CZ), Fredy Barth (CH) and Oliver Mathai (D).
Aston Martin – Nurburgring 24 hour
In addition, Aston Martin’s engineering department will return with the spectacular V12 Zagato concept car that made its Nürburgring24 Hour debut in 2011. Targeting another successful race finish will be Aston Martin Chief Executive Dr Ulrich Bez (D), Chief Engineer Chris Porritt (GB), Aston Martin Nürburgring Test Centre Director Wolfgang Schuhbauer (D) and renowned motoring journalist and racer Richard Meaden (GB).
“Our 100 per cent finishing record in thirteen starts in one of the world’s toughest endurance races is remarkable; truly a testament to the reliability of our cars and the efforts of our people. In the past six years we have deliberately focused on racing close-to-production cars, achieving seven class podiums and three class wins. For 2012, I am delighted to be returning again to drive our V12 Zagato with my engineering team, but also to have such an exciting step up with the V12 Vantage GT3s.”, commented Ahead of the race, Dr Bez.
The fourth official entry will be a V8-powered Vantage run by Aston Martin’s Nürburgring Test Centre team and driven by Jurgen Stumpf (D), Australians Mal Rose and Rob Thomson, and Peter Cate (GB). Aston Martin will be represented by four further customer outfits, including Team Mathol Racing, winners of the SP10 class for GT4 cars in 2010.
The 40th ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours starts at 16:00 CET on Saturday, 19 May.
