  • 2014 Bentley Continental GT3-R Makes Global Debut

2014-Bentley-Continental-GT3-THUMB2014 Bentley Continental GT3-R is preparing to make its global debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Next to it the company will showcase an exclusive line up of cars. The GT3-R will be shown on the Bentley stand. It is the most dynamic and fastest-accelerating model that Bentley has ever produced. It was inspired by the winning Continental GT3 racer. Car’s production is limited to only 300 examples. Of course, they will be all hand built.

To go into details, the GT3-R is powered by the powerful 4.0 litre V8 engine. The unit produces 580 hp (426 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The model features also a reduction in weight when compared to the GT3. Precisely, it is 100 kg and when it is combined with torque vectoring and shorter gearing, it delivers breathtaking driving experience.

Continental GT3 race car – the basis for the debut-maker, will also appear at the festival. The car has recently won the second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone. It will be piloted up the hill by David Brabham, who drove a Bentley Speed 8 to second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003.

An interesting reunion will also happen at Goodwood: three historic Bentleys will reunite for the first time in over a decade to complete the famous Hillclimb. The Speed Six Bentley (Old Number 1), which won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930, will be accompanied by two more classic Bentleys: Old Number 2 and Old Number 3 that are both in their original form and raced alongside the first car at Le Mans in 1930.

  • 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 – Active Rear Steering [video]

Originally, Porsche has presented the Active Rear Steering with the 918 Spyder Concept and now the all-new 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 comes with the same one as standard. The active rear-wheel steering drastically helps the handling and this means faster lap times and incredible traction improvement.

The Active Rear Steering will turn the rear wheels in opposite direction of the front ones at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph), while beyond that barrier, the rear wheels are going to turn in the same direction to improve stability. This is possible thanks to two actuators which are in charge of steering the rear wheels up to 1.5 degrees.

    2014 Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 3.8 liter flat-six – 475 HP (349 kW) and 438 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h (195 mph).

  • Chevrolet Camaro GT3 will race at Monza

Chevrolet Camaro GT3 Race Car will take place at the opening round of the Blancpain Endurance Series in Monza. The Camaro GT3 is specially prepared by Reiter Engineering.

American Muscle and German Engineering, that was the philosophy of Bavarian Lamborghini specialist Reiter Engineering when it created its SaReNi division to develop a GT3-version of the Chevrolet Camaro.

The muscle race car has an enormous 7.9 liter V8 engine, full body kit, improved brakes, suspension and stripped interior. There are also racing wheels and tires for maximum traction.

The Camaro GT3 Race Car was tested by eter Kox, Tomas Enge, Albert von Thurn und Taxis and Stefan Rosina. General Motors works driver Oliver Gavin also had a go in the machine, to further advance its competitiveness.

“The Camaro is something of a rebel. It relies on the massive power of the V8 engine to be among the frontrunners. At the same time, it is one of the most cost-effective cars on the starting grid, which is why it represents the ideal solution for cost-conscious teams and drivers to get involved in the Blancpain GT Series.”, commented Hans Reiter, Тeam’s Principal.

  • 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Race and Road Cars

Porsche has introduced 2014 911 GT3 Cup Race Car and Road model as well. The new 911 GT3 Cup is the latest edition of the best-selling racing car of all time, having been built in a production series of more than 2,000 since 1998.

The new 991 911 GT3 Cup Racer is based on the 911 GT3 road car. It is powered by a 3.8 liter flat-six – 460HP (338 kW) at 7,500RPM – an increase of 10HP compared. The engine is mated to a 6-speed dog-box developed by Porsche Motorsport sending the power to the rear-wheels.

First run in 2003, the Carrera Cup GB is Britain’s fastest single marque GT racing series and has a permanent position as prime support to the British Touring Car Championship. Full details about the Carrera Cup GB will be available from the Porsche stand and Championship representatives will be on hand throughout the Show to take enquiries.

The 2014 schedule includes a sensational date on the morning of the Le Mans 24 Hours race in June, when the Carrera Cup GB will run alongside the Carrera Cup France as the prime support of the famous French endurance sports car race.

2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Road Car is priced from £100,540. It comes with a highly specialized performance drivetrain comprising a 3.8-litre flat engine developing 475HP (350 kW) at 8,250RPM, a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) double-clutch gearbox, and high traction rear-wheel drive. 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 12 seconds. The lap time on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife is even more impressive: the new 911 GT3 completed this track, commonly regarded as the most difficult in the world, in less than 7:30 minutes.

Porsche is using active rear-wheel steering for the first time. Depending on the speed, the system steers in the opposite or the same direction as the front wheels, thereby improving agility and stability. Among the other new driving dynamics features are the electronically-controlled, fully variable rear differential lock, and the dynamic engine mounts.

The height, toe and camber of the newly-developed all-aluminium suspension is still adjustable. There are also new 20” forged alloy wheels with central locking used for optimal contact with the road.

Traditionally, the 911 GT3 comes as a two-seater based on the lightweight body of the current-generation 911 Carrera. However, the front and rear part are always model-specific. For this latest generation, the 911 GT3 is 44 mm wider than a 911 Carrera S across the rear axle. Another clear identifying feature is the large, fixed rear wing. This makes a decisive contribution to the exemplary aerodynamics of the new 911 GT3, which combines low air resistance with a further increase in downforce.

  • 2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 Series for Sale

    Nissan-GT-R-Nismo-GT3-shadowNissan-GT-R-Nismo-GT3-medium

If you saw  today’s news about the Nissan Nismo GT-R and thought: “Yes, but does it conform to FIA GT3 regulations?” Well, sorry but it doesn’t. Funny you should ask, however, because here’s one that does exactly that. It’s the 2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. The best thing is, you can now own it. That is if you have $397,204 laying around. And that’s without tax.

Relying on data gathered from the 2012 model, Nissan’s engineers have managed to squeeze every drop of performance from this GT-R without really breaking any rules. The timing of the camshaft has been improved, the moving components of the engine have been made even more durable and the aerodynamics have been tweaked: canards were added to the front and the front fender louvers were enlarged. The positioning of the rear wing was optimized. The bottom line is – 3.8 V6 engine with over 543 hp and 637 Nm of torque. Yes, it’s not as much as the road going Nismo GT-R, but this one weights just 1,300 kilograms (despite having a metal, 5,5-inch 4-plate clutch disk). And the tyres? 330/710-18 on all four wheels.

Nissan will only make you one once you’ve ordered it. If the orders exceed their capacity you might end up empty-handed. Time to check your bank account?
