  • Switzer Goliath Nissan GT-R

Switzer is one of the most appreciated tuning companies in the world. They have has been focused on cars that delivered blistering performance without sacrificing the comfort or reliability.

Switzer created a tuned Nissan GT-R capable of doing 9-second times at drag race or other, which as covered almost 100,000 miles since its conversion from a stock, 475 hp early GTR to an 800 hp Switzer P800.

The conversions are relatively cheap compared to the achieved performance. Still, a lot more can be done, so people ask themselves: “What if I want to push the limits? What if I don’t want to be conservative?”

The GT-R Goliath was built to explore the limits of Switzer’s package architecture, building off of the same hardware upgrades as the Ultimate Street Edition, as well as the same intercoolers, plumbing, and exhaust hardware used in the USE, as well as the P700, P800, and record-breaking R1K-X Switzer GTRs.

Keep in mind, this is not some chopped-up dyno-queen car. Grinding or welding on the chassis was not permitted, so Goliath’s firewall, frame rails, and power steering systems are totally intact.

The factory AC system is completely intact, and “is a must”, according to Switzer … which makes sense, considering how many of these cars end up in extreme climates.

“At the end of the day,” says Tym, “this is still a drivable streetcar, albeit at the limits of what most people would tolerate in real-world traffic. It’s an exercise in how far you can take a streetcar, which is what this customer wanted, even after I explained the risks and the process. The only ‘race stuff’ in the car is the fuel. In this case, it’s Q16. I’d have preferred something a little more ‘green’, like E85, but that would have been too hard for the car’s owner to source locally. So, only the fuel is ‘race’, really, but that doesn’t mean Goliath is for everyone. It’s not the no-excuses, Veyron-baiting, liter-bike chasing super car. That’s the Ultimate. Goliath … Goliath is just a monster. It’s the limit of how far we can push our GTR package hardware, so it shows the value in those packages as ‘building blocks’ to something bigger.”

So, the result: over 1500 WHP (wheel-horse-power), which is around 2000HP from the engine.

  • 2013 Nissan GT-R: Elevated Performance

2013-Nissan-GT-R-THUMBThe new 2013 Nissan GT-R now has enhanced response, better stability and sharper handling. The model will go on sale in the spring next year, showing-off its new four-wheel drive and great responsiveness.

In fact, this Nissan model has received a round of improvements, which complement perfectly the “beast” which seeps under its good: the 550 horsepower (405 kW) 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Here the lessons, that the brand have learned after this year’s Nürburgring 24-Hour, are applied by the engineers thus effecting in enhanced response in both the mid- and upper-rpm rev ranges.

Other changes include increased body rigidity and modifications to the dampers, springs and front anti-roll bar. As a consequence, the GT-R is now more responsive, has better high-speed stability and a more refined ride.

Details around this model are still scarce and the brand will reveal full prices and exact performance specifications closer to car’s launch. Nevertheless, some technical changes were disclosed.

The engine for instance has new high-output injectors, which more concisely control fuel injection in order to enhance mid-range and high-rpm response. Furthermore, new relief valve for the turbocharger bypass suppresses the rapid decrease of forced injection pressure, again helping to sustain response. Next, a brand new oil pan baffle helps maintain more stable oil pressure and reduces rotational friction especially during high-performance driving.

The chassis has been updated as well, after measuring the roll centre of the GT-R when cornering and taking deflection of the bushes and tyres into account. The updated suspension includes revised dampers, springs and front anti-roll bar to lower the centre of gravity.

Moreover, new cam bolts have been installed on the front suspension to enhance camber accuracy and stability when cornering. The torque has been increased as well thus carrying capacity of the driveshafts to the hub bearings and improving the reliability in high-stress situations.

At last but not least, some changes have been made to the body as well. Reinforcements have been added to the dash panel bar and instrument panel member effecting in extended body rigidity and better suspension control.

  • Porsche 9ff GT3 RS vs 911 Turbo Protomotive 1200 vs Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ [video]

Dragtimesinfo continues to publish extraordinary videos in their Youtube channel. This time, the battle is between Porsche 911 GT3 RS 9ff, Porsche 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+.

The three highly tuned cars are going against each other on the highway starting from around 60 km/h.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS 9ff and Porsche 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 made a lot of starts, but every time the result is the same. The GT3 RS 9ff doesn’t stand a chance, despite it has 1100HP and runs on VP C-16 Race fuel and on Michelin Sport Cup tires. The 911 Turbo Protomotive just blows the competition away. IT has 1150HP and also runs on VP C-16 Race fuel.

The second part are starts between the 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ with around 1500HP running on Race fuel VP Import 120 and on Toyo Proxes R888 full slicks.

This time, the 911 Turbo Protomotive VRT1200 is way behind the GT-R. It just can’t cope with the difference of more than 300HP in terms of power.

    The GT-R runs 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 100-200 km/h in 3.3 seconds and 200-300 km/h in just 6.2 seconds, while the Porsche is way slower from 200-300 km/h – 8.3 seconds.

Nissan has delivered the first Juke-R, which a number plate “001”. This particular model was sold for €500,000. As you know, the Juke-R has everything needed from one of the best cars in the world – Nissan GT-R R35.

In other words, the Juke-R is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter V6 with 485HP (362 kW). 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 257 km/h (160 mph). This is almost 5 seconds faster than a regular Juke and 57 km/h more top speed.

The Juke-R story began when it was revealed for the first time as a one-off concept in January 2012 in Dubai. The wild child of the Nissan range soon became an automotive legend in its own right, even though it was never intended for either physical or virtual production.

A YouTube sensation, the Juke-R‘s fan base grew exponentially – more than 5,000,000 views of Juke-R videos have been recorded to date.

“People loved the Juke-R in Dubai – we were receiving offers for the original concept on the street! We couldn’t disappoint such dedicated fans, so with three genuine offers on the table we made the commitment to build a limited run of Juke-Rs.”, said Darren Cox, Brand Director Nissan in Europe.

  • Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo vs Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+

Dragtimesinfo has released a new crazy video featuring Lamborghini Gallardo UR Twin Turbo and Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+. Both cars are sensational – the GT-R has 1500HP (around 1200WHP), while the Gallardo boasts 2000HP (1500 WHP). In other words, there is nothing faster on the public roads than these two vehicles. The Gallardo managed to stop the clock in acceleration between 200 and 300 km/h in 6.8 seconds.

The GT-R runs on Race Fuel VP Import 120 and the Gallardo is powered by Race Fuel VP C-16. The Lamborghini has 6-speed manual gearbox and the driver has a lot of difficulties changing gears so fast. The Nissan has robotic manual gearbox making changing much easier.

Both cars have huge problems with the traction, despite the AWD and four slicks fitted on the wheels. They made a lot of starts, but obviously the faster car is the GT-R.

Enjoy the video, where you will see one of the cars passing police post with more than 300 km/h.

  • Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ vs Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R

Usually we know that the motorcycles are extremely fast and especially, when matched to ordinary cars. However, the highly tuned Nissan GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ is not an ordinary car and it manages to beat a lot of superfast bikes including this brand new Kawasaki ZX-14R, which also has minor upgrades.

The GT-R AMS Alpha 12+ is running on regular 93 octane gasoline, but still has more than 1000WHP (1200+ HP). It rolls Toyo 888R tires, which hardly can get any traction at low speeds.

The Kawasaki ZX-14R comes with modified sports exhaust system boosting the engine to 220HP (195 WHP), which is also a lot, because the bike is superlight.

Still, the GT-R is way faster than the mighty ZX-14R as you will see in the video below.

    Enjoy!

  • GT-R EcuTeck vs 911 Proto 1000 and 911 Switzer

Dragtimesinfo has released a new video with two of the fastest cars in Russia – Porsche 911 Turbo 997 Mk.1 Proto 1000. As you may suggest, the car is boosted to one thousand HP. The second is also a Porsche, but this time a 911 Turbo tuned by Switzer having 950HP.

The first start is between 911 Proto 1000 and a lot underpowered Nissan GT-R Mk.2 Ecutek Stage 2 with “just” 670HP, which is 330HP less than the German beast. The GT-R didn’t stand a chance and finished the 1 mile race for 27.289 seconds with 300.00 km/h terminal speed, while the 911 stopped the clock at 25.377 seconds with 318.66 km/h.

The second start was between the same GT-R and 911 Turbo Switzer. Again, the Nissan is a lot underpowered, but the two cars are in same class, so everything is fair. The GT-R finished the 1 mile race in 26.656 seconds with 302.26 km/h, which is great result, but the 911 stopped the clock at 26.113 seconds with 298.44 km/h. Still, both cars are very close despite the 280HP difference.

  • Nissan GT-R Boostlogic Godzilla vs AMS Alpha 12+

Nissan GT-R Boostlogic GodzillaDragtimesinfo has posted video with an epic battle between Nissan GT-R Boostlogic Godzilla and AMS Alpha 12+.

The GT-R Boostlogic Godzilla rides on Toyo R888 R20 racing tires. It is boosted to 25 psi (1.72 bar) pressure and runs on 93 octane pump fuel.

The other Nissan – AMS Alpha 12 also runs on regular 93 octane pump fuel and on the same tires. It generates around 1000HP, because its full power is unleashed on VP16 – 116 octane racing fuel.

Both drivers make a lot of flying starts from 100 km/h to around 300 km/h, but as it appears, the GT-R Boostlogic Godzilla is a lot faster than the AMS.

  • Porsche 911 Turbo Proto 1000 vs Nissan GT-R vs Porsche 9ff vs Porsche 911 PP-Performance [HD video]

Here is a nice video of an epic battle between several highly tuned vehicles – Porsche 911 Turbo Proto 1000 with 1100HP, Nissan GT-R Mk.1 Stage 2 with 560HP, Porsche 911 PP-Performance Stage 1 with 650HP and Porsche 911 Turbo 9ff with 900HP.

In the first start, the mighty Protomotive VRT1000 Porsche meets a lot underpowered Nissan GT-R Mk.1. The Porsche crosses the finish line at 1 mile with 256.04 km/h and 27.567 seconds time, while the GT-R finished in 31.757 seconds (without reaction times).

The second start is between 911 PP-Performance and 911 Turbo 9ff. Again, one of the cars has a lot more horsepower, but there is an intrigue between the two of them. The 9ff finishes in 27.735 seconds with 305.86 km/h, but this is not enough to win. The 911 PP-Performance stops the clock at 27.544 seconds with 292.20 km/h.

The third start is between the two winners – the Protomotive VRT1000 vs 911 PP-Performance. Although the 911 PP-Performance has stopped the clock at 27.804 seconds with 290.55 km/h, it wasn’t enough to beat the staggering Protomotive VRT1000, which finished in just 26.452 seconds.
