  • Gemballa Breaks the Long Term Sleep with Uprated McLaren 650S GT

Gemballa GT McLaren 650S Front ViewGemballa is a tuning company we haven’t heard of lately. However, it is time to spread its name once again because it has published a brand new project based on the McLaren 650S. The supersports car has been slightly modified and features minimal changes, but still it is one to dream of.

Starting-off with the carbon fiber body package, it comprises of subtle additions. Such are the new side skirts, which make the vehicle appear much lower and sleeker. For the badass look takes also care the new rear bumper, which is fitted with an integrated diffuser. The latter serves in terms of reducing the lift. Although these changes might seem not enough, the experts at the tuning company say that they help the McLaren 650S get additional downforce at cornering speeds.

Next, we continue with the wheels which are of two dimensions: 20- and 21-inches and are of the GForged-one type. The new alloys are relatively big and this means that they need new wheel arches where they can fit harmoniously. So the next logical step for Gemballa was to mount new carbon-fiber inner wheel arches, which deliver more space for the bigger wheels.

Unfortunately, there are no details disclosed regarding the interior of this project, but we are sure that the tuning specialist can offer a lot options for a bespoke cabin.

At last, but not least, there is also an uprating done here which boosts the output with 20 horsepower and 49 Nm of torque. The optimization happened with the help of an ECU, which improved the biturbo 3.8-liter V8 engine and it now generates 670 horsepower (493 kW) and 726 Nm (536 lb-ft), instead of the standard 650 hp and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft). There are no details how the acceleration time was changed or whether the top speed was freed from the electronic limiter.

The pack for the McLaren 650S by Gemballa is priced at $38,286 USD.

  • GEMBALLA Promoting its Winter Wheels

GEMBALLA tuning company is now taking care of premium cars and allows them to look perfectly good in winter thanks to its new range of GEMBALLA allow wheels. Because of the great amount of available combinations, looks and sizes, the GEMBALLA sales team will be helpful enough when working with potential clients and will ease their selection by trying to find their perfect choice of winter wheels.

For the Porsche 911 (991), GEMBALLA offers the GForged-one wheels that come with special winter prices. With 20 and 21 inch sizes, the dimensions are pretty spectacular. The ultra-light and stable structures are possible thanks to the effective forging process which is able to attain high material compression. Furthermore, the GEMBALLA wheel’s widely spaced twin-spoke pairs are outlined into shiny Vs. In consequence, the design looks absolutely unique, fresh and powerful. Additionally, in order to contribute even more to the excessively good GForged-one wheels, the tuner offers different surface finishes. Customers can select from “Gunmetal” or “Black Magic” both of which come either with a full-surface finish or with a “diamond cut” emphasis.

Porsche Cayenne (958, 957, 955) and Porsche Panamera (970) benefit from GEMBALLA GT SPORT Forged wheels, again, at a special winter price. This ultra-light set comes with “Black Magic” or “Gunmetal” finish. Additionally, the cast wheels GT SPORT and GT SPORT-R represent a good deal as well. These black nicely-shaped pieces exhibit a sense of elegance and sportiness and demonstrate an excellent price-performance ratio which does not sacrifice the required quality. Clients can purchase complete wheels with high-performance winter tires upon request.

  • Gemballa Says Goodbye to Mirage GT

Gemballa-Mirage-GT-No23-THUMBSadly we have come to the point when there will be only two Gemballa Mirage GTs left. Yes, the run on the last two has begun, because the series is limited to 25 cars and we have already counted to 23. This makes the Mirage a collector’s item and its value is going to rise very soon. The legendary car is based on the Porsche Carrera GT, but has more power and exclusivity to show. In terms of appearance, this car almost has nothing to do with the Porsche.

Furthermore, the sports car is powered by the 5.7l/10 cylinder engine, which is uprated from 612 hp (450 kW) to 670 hp (493 kW) and its torque from 590 Nm (435 lb-ft) to 630 Nm (465 lb-ft). What is more: the modified Porsche reaches 100 km/h in only 3.7 seconds on the way to a top speed of 335 km/h.

For the faster acceleration time also contributes the new body kit, which was made of real carbon fibres. In addition, the aprons and the striking rear spoiler raise the surface pressure and keep the car safely on the road, regardless the speed. The three-part air inlet, which stretches across the entire front and the recessed door elements, also stands out.

The engineers at Gemballa also installed a sport-type coupling with special linings. They are perfect for the “stop and go” city driving and make it softer and gentler.

And for those who will miss the Mirage project – don’t worry. Gemballa is currently working on its next limited edition series, the first of which will be based on the Porsche 918 Spider hybrid. With its very aggressive silhouette and coming in only 25 examples, it may become even more exclusive.

  • Gemballa With The First Ever Wheels For The McLaren P1

Gemballa-McLaren-P1-GForged-one-Wheels-shadowGemballa-McLaren-P1-GForged-one-Wheels-mediumIf you happen to be one of the few lucky ones that have actually bought a McLaren P1, you can now turn to Gemballa for some follow-up customization. That’s right, they have one as well, and they are using it to test their still-in-production Gforged-one wheels. It’s supposedly the first ever after-market wheel set that’s been especially designed for the P1.

Gemballa say that because of the clever way they have been forged, the GForged-ones are a perfect complement to the P1’s overall lightweight structure even though they are one inch bigger than the standard 19/20-inch wheels. That is, 20-inches at the front and 21-inches at the back.

The design of the GForged-ones, apparently, also complements the general style of the McLaren. Widely spaced twin-spoke pairs form sleek Vs and that somehow suggest aerodynamic characteristics. One thing’s for sure though. The clear view to these humongous brake disks is overwhelming.

There will be a total of four finishes available for the Gemballa customers. Two colors (“Gunmetal” or “Black Magic”) both in either a full-surface finish or a diamond cut type of finish.

  • Hennesseey Chevrolet Corvette C7 Does 200 mph

Hennessey-C7-Corvette-shadowHennessey-C7-Corvette-mediumHere’s a video of a Hennessey C7 Corvette going pretty briskly in a straight line. In fact, Hennessey say that this is the first ever 2014 Corvette Stingray to break the 200 mph mark. How much did it achieve? 200.6 mph.

It is an impressive achievement on its own, but if we compare it to the recent GEMBALLA run, it all becomes quite awkward. The 700 hp Panamera-based GTP did crack the 211 mph threshold without being on a diet or anything (a bit over two tonnes as you would find it on the street). The not-weighing-more-than-a-ton-and-a-half Hennessey C7 also brandishes a 700 hp engine because of its aftermarket long-tube headers, ported factory cylinder heads, high-flow cats, and camshafts. There’s even a Nitrous Experss system provided for those last 100 hp. Apparently, the finished product will scrap the nitrous but will provide a TVS R2300 supercharger and the 700 figure will remain unchanged.

Still, we have to give credit where credit’s due. Hennessey didn’t have the disposal of the Nardo ring. The test was performed on a brand new stretch of Texas State Highway 99. They wasn’t any need to close it off since it’s not even open to the public yet. Talk about a grand opening, huh?

Everyone involved seem to be rather pleased anyway and that’s what counts:

“We’re thrilled to have validated our upgraded C7’s performance at one of the best possible highways not only in America, but the world.” said Don Goldman, Hennessey CEO

  • Gemballa GTP 700 Being Really Quick On The Nardo Ring

    GEMBALLA-GTP-700-Porsche-Panamera-Turbo-shadowGEMBALLA-GTP-700-Porsche-Panamera-Turbo-medium

The Nardo Ring test track, borrowing its name from the town of Nardo Italy because of the relative proximity of the two, is a 7.8 mile circle track with a constant bank. So, due to its specific nature no car is truly capable of reaching its top speed. We don’t want to get all technical. Let’s just say that because of the angle of the outer-most lane (the fastest one) there’s more downforce on the inside wheels of the car and then some stuff happens and you can’t go as fast as you would on a straight track.

Still, you can go really, really fast. Manufacturers keep setting Nardo specific benchmakrs, and one of the most recent is the deed of the GEMBALLA GTP 700 – A Porsche Panamera Turbo-based aftermarket monstrosity. As the name suggests, it boasts 700 hp. To get from 0 to 60 in it would take no more than 3.3 mph seconds. Also, 0 to 120 mph takes 9.6 seconds, and 0 to 180 mph 26.5 seconds. How far up did it go on the ring, you ask? 211 mph. Independently verified by trade journals such as AUTO BILD, SPORTSCARS and Continental.

GEMBALLA are especially proud with the fact that the GTP achieved that completely unmodified in all of its two-ton glory. “The huge 22-inch wheels, unique to this car in the starting field of cars with a performance of more than 300 km/h, were entirely unaltered, as was the full equipment including rear-seat entertainment facility. In addition, the weight, the engine as well as the aerodynamics remained unchanged and were not adapted for this particular occasion,” says Andreas Schwarz, CEO of GEMBALLA, who drove the car himself.

Don’t take his word for it. See it for yourselves:

  • Gemballa Porsche Panamera Turbo GTP 700

Gemballa will introduce their latest project at the 2013 Essen Motor Show. It is called GTP 700 and it is based on the recently facelifted Porsche Panamera Turbo. As you may suggest the number is the amount of HP under the bonnet, but the stylish 4-door coupe comes with more than that.

    The 4.8 liter twin-turbo V8 originally produces 520HP (382 kW) and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. With the new set-up, the engine delivers 700HP (515 kW) and 900Nm of torque – an increase of 180HP and 200Nm. 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of over 330 km/h (205 mph).

The exterior comes with aerodynamics package including modified front and rear bumpers. There are also tinted rear lights and some vinyl decals. The tuning company offers different alloy wheels fitted with proper performance tires.

  • Gemballa Porsche 991 Carrera S Convertible With GT Aerodynamic Package

Gemballa-Porsche-991-Carrera-S-Convertible-GT-THUMBPorsche 991 Carrera S Convertible is now being equipped with a special aerodynamic and technology package especially created to enhance its GT capabilities. Gemballa is staying behind this project.

The face of the Gemballa GT aerodynamic package consists of a strongly contoured front bumper, whose three large cooling air intakes and carbon-fibre spoiler lip give the Porsche more aggressive stance. Moreover, the curvaceous lines of the 991 Carrera S Cabriolet are further accentuated by the more heavily contoured side skirts that lead the eyes to the re-imagined rear.

At the rear we have dark painted recess in the bumper, carbon-fibre strip between the lights, diffuser with cutouts for the exhaust pipes and Gurney lip spoiler. All of these components are made of carbon-fibre and can be delivered in either natural look or painted body colour.

What is more, here is also included the dual triple-tail pipe exhaust system with throttle activated sound control. This is an interpretation of company’s six-pipe exhaust first seen on the Gemballa Avalanche. What is important to mention here is that this system has a lower backpressure worth up to 10 horsepower.

The height of the car is decreased by 20 mm, thanks tot the shorter, uprated sport springs that work with the factory PASM active damping system. They are combined with the Gemballa-21-inch GForged-one wheels, which are available in “black magic” or “gunmetal” color choices with or without a glossy turned “diamond cut” finish. Another unique feature here is the high performance brake system which was created in collaboration with Brembo and provides shorter stopping distances.

In terms of interior, the palette of materials and colours utilized include the finest Alcantara, carbon-fibre or aluminium. Here can also be found the latest multi-media equipment, delivering state-of-the-art in-car entertainment.

  • Gemballa Porsche Cayenne Equipped With New Sports Exhaust System With Sound Valve Control

Gemballa-Porsche-Cayenne-THUMBGemballa Porsche Cayenne delivers unique sound which makes its character even more irresistable for those who are keeen on the model. The powerful vehicle is equipped with V8-petrol engine and has received a distinctive sounding sports exhaust system.

In order to achieve the perfect balance between strict noise limits in town and a throaty roar on the open road, Gemballa specialists have incorporated a variable exhaust valve into Porsche’s system.

This tuning has been especially created for the naturally-aspirated Cayenne S and GTS models, and it comprises of new rear silencer boxes. On the other hand, the Turbo and Turbo S come with adaptors that slip over their larger pipes. In addition, there is also an electronic module which controls the exhaust valves.

Furthermore, the exhaust system is made from high quality stainless steel and utilizes a larger diameter internal tubing which reduces the back-pressure. The result is that the system helps the engine to breathe more freely, and gives it an additioonal 10 hp (7.35 kW).

What also has been done here are the end pipes which now have the distinctive Gemballa look. This was achieved with the help of triple outlets per side. Next, after major testing on the engine dyno, the exhaust was installed and driven thousands of kilometers on both road and track to prove its durability.

To go even further into detials, the triple outlet pipe design can be ordered in “BLACK MAGIC” finish and in conventional twin outlet-per-side end pipe design in polished stainless steel.

  • Exclusive: Gemballa Porsche 980 Carrera Mirage GT Black Edition

Gemballa-Porsche-980-Carrera-Mirage-THUMBIt seems like we have seen already so many yellow vehicles these couple of days. And the Gemballa Porsche 980 Carrera Mirage GT Black Edition is no exception but adds to this tendency.

As we all know the specialist from Gemballa have this unique specialty to build exclusive sports cars based on the Porsche models. The very last exotic addition to their range is called Mirage GT Black Edition and it is based on the Porsche 980 Carrera GT.

Undoubtedly this model will conquer a lot of motor sport hearts, because it is extremely attractive thanks to its unique yellow exterior, its enhanced characteristics and a lot of carbon fiber included. The improvements on it mainly concern the aerodynamic components and the modifications done on the engine.

Thanks to these enhancements, the 980 Carrera can now produce 650 horsepower (478 kW) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. This means that on its way to the top speed of 335 km/h the sportscar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.7 seconds. The stock acceleration time was 3.9 seconds. And for the sprint from 0 to 200 km/h, the Porsche needs 9.7 seconds compared to the stock 9.9 seconds.

At last, the interior is very stylishly and it is full of contrast: in general the materials used are in black, but there are also powerful yellow elements and yellow stitching, which emphasize more prominently the sporty nature of the car. In addition, in the cabin from the floor to the roof lining one can easily see a lot of carbon fiber.
