2013 Ford Transit Connect – 4.0 liters / 100 km

Ford has announced the all-new 2013 Transit Connect offering best-in-class fuel efficiency – 70.6 mpg (4 liters / 100 km).

The engine is a 1.6 liter Duratorq TDCi with 95HP. IT enables dramatic reductions in operating costs by reducing fuel costs by as much as £1,600 compared with key class rivals over a typical four-year ownership period. The engine range also includes the highly fuel-efficient 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine – twice winner of the International Engine of the Year – delivering class-leading petrol fuel economy of 50.4mpg and CO₂ emissions of 129g/km.

Transit Connect’s reduced fuel bills are supported by further improvements in routine servicing and maintenance costs with extended service intervals of up to 20,000 miles or 12 months.

The stylish all-new Transit Connect has been engineered to set new standards for load-carrying ability, cost of ownership and dependability within its class.

Available in short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions, Transit Connect offers a spacious and practical load area with total volumes of 2.9m³ and 3.6m³ (SAE – with full bulkhead fitted) and a maximum payload of up to 1,000kg. Ford will offer Van, Double-Cab-in-Van and Kombi derivatives. Deliveries of the all-new Transit Connect van are scheduled to start towards the end of 2013.

Ford Focus ST And Fiesta ST To Feature Mountune Upgrades [VIDEO]

Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST are going to get even hotter because they will feature Mountune upgrades. The packages are developed by race engine and road-car performance specialist Mountune.

The result is an enhanced power output. For instance, Focus ST’s 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine now can generate up to 275 hp (202 kW), which is 10 hp more a Porsche Boxster. RS500 would be left with a rear view of the Mountune-upgraded Focus ST. The latter can sprint form 0 to 100 km/h in only six seconds.

A Mountune upgrade is also offered for the Fiesta ST, thanks to which the increase of power will result in total 215 hp (158 kW). This will enable the Ford model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7seconds (in comparison to the factory 6.9 seconds).

The upgrades boost the vehicles in terms of in-gear acceleration too. Peak Focus ST torque is heightened to 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), while the peak Fiesta ST torque is enhanced up to 320 Nm (236 lb-ft).

The Focus ST Mountune upgrade features a cast alloy inlet duct in silver or black powder coat finish, high-flow air filter element, larger alloy intercooler in silver or black powder coat finish and unique calibration.

On the other hand, the Fiesta ST version has a re-modelled air box base with secondary inlet duct, a high-flow filter element and unique calibration. Ford’s ST models will deliver blistering performance thanks to these Mountune upgrades. The effect will be great driving fun and passionate performance.

Kahn Introduces Ford Focus RS250

Back in 1998 the emblematic model of Ford – the Focus was launched. It immediately made a furore and became a class leader. Now, this iconic model has taken the attention of the British designers at A. Kahn Design.

First of all they have decided to give the car new exterior color, thus covering it in splendid Diamond White couture. On the other hand, in order to make more contrast to the exterior, the upper lower and front grilles were made in satin black.

This particular Focus runs on Cosworth wheels in size 8.5 x 19 inch, and to be more precise, they are in anthracite color. The rear wing spoiler bonnet vents and side trims are also in satin black and therefore ensure the perfect synthesis of luxury and design.

Going inside the Focus, one can see Kahn’s bespoke touch. Here is present the exclusive Recaro Interior in blue leather with grey Alcantara, which is additionally accentuated via stitching throughout. The result is a vehicle which is perfect for those wanting to fully express their individuality.

Saleen 351 Mustang Goes Public And Is Ready For Production

Saleen 351 Mustang Prototype is based on Ford Mustang and as a matter of fact it debuted in April this year at Fabulous Fords at Knott’s Berry Farm in California. Now Saleen Automotive has announced that the breath-taking muscle car in on its way to production.

The specialists at Saleen have also disclosed that they have put incredible amount of o details and attention in this vehicle. They even said that according to their opinion they have found the perfect balance of design, technology, and power.

The 351 Mustang completes the trifecta of Speed, Science, and Style which is something emblematic for the tuning brand. More importantly, the muscle car is capable of producing 700 hp (515 kW) and 888 Nm (655 ft-lb) of torque, thanks to its supercharged 351 cubic inch V8 engine.

The power is transmitted onto the road via six-speed gearbox with 3.73:1 final drive ratio and a performance clutch system. The car runs on 20” alloy wheels matched with high-performance tires.

In the package is also included an enhanced brake system which features 15” brake discs. Other highlights include a butterfly hood scoop, carbon fiber front and rear splitters and rear diffuser.

In addition, the Saleen 351 is rounded out by its distinct aerodynamics and Red Butterfly Center Ram Air Induction system. The transformation can be done on both Hardtop and Convertible models.

EXCLUSIVE: VUHL 05 Revealed!

The VŪHL 05 has been finally revealed and shown to an exclusive audience at an event in Royal Automobile Club in London. After many months of secrecy and a few teasers released, the road-legal lightweight supercar has finally arrived.

The vehicle is an innovative mid-engined two-seater born of a motorsport heritage. The car is a project of Guillermo and Iker Echeverria, who were inspired by their father that was a professional driver who built and successfully raced his own cars for 30 years.

The brothers subsequently formed their own design agency, named ETXE, and started working on different projects including the VŪHL 05. In fact, they state that the 05 has been developed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Their goal was to create a car which is highly intuitive and at the same time offers high speeds and fun of driving. As a result, they have given it class-leading ergonomics and a contemporary silhouette of striking proportions, and uncompromising build quality.

To go further into details, the 05’s monocoque weighs in at a mere 78 kg, while the dry weight of the entire car is a very competitive 695 kg. The chassis of the vehicle includes a three-section bonded tub which was made of aluminium extrusions and aluminium honeycomb. The latter is an aerospace technology that gives the 05 great levels of torsional rigidity for optimum handling.

Next to the passenger cell one can see the chrome-moly steel subframe in which are to be found the engine and rear suspension. A three-stage forward crash structure and double layer sidewalls deliver a matchless level of protection for the driver and the one seating next to them.

In addition, the standard body is made of RTM reinforced plastic. However, there is an option which includes a carbon fibre body. The aero features comprise of a flat underbody, front and lateral splitters, rear diffuser and rear spoiler.

Being a true sports car, the VŪHL 05 deliver great amount of power, which comes from a 2-litre version of Ford’s award-winning DOHC turbocharged EcoBoost engine. The exact output of the unit is 285 hp (210 kW) and it can generate 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. This results in 0 to 100 km/h acceleration for 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 245 km/h.

The power of the engine is transmitted onto the wheels via six-speed manual gearbox. Steering is by a high ratio rack and pinion system. On the other hand, the suspension is by unequal length double wishbones front and rear. Braking is by four-pot alloy callipers all-round, operating on 310 mm ventilated cross-drilled discs at the front and 280mm units at the rear.

Furthermore, the VŪHL 05 runs on OZ alloy wheels matched with Michelin tyres. The sizes of the latter are 205/45 x 17 for the front and 235/45 x 18 for the rear.

The interior of the vehicle is also made exquisite and it is very captivating. It includes carbon bucket seats, 330mm quick release water-resistant suede-covered steering wheel, electronic data acquisition dash, integral HD camera, and water-resistant Dinamica suede trim.

The pricing of the VŪHL 05 will begin at US$83 930 (£55 000).

Ford Fiesta ST Race Car – Detroit Rallycross

Ford Racing TV has published a promo video showing Fiesta ST Rallycross driven around Detroit by Andreas Eriksson.

Recently, ESPN announced Detroit, Michigan as one of four final cities still in the running as the host for X Games 2014-2016 and, with that, the Detroit bid team took the campaign to the next level releasing a campaign video that demonstrated X Games sports in the context of Detroit.

After Ford Racing received a call from the team campaigning the X Games Detroit bid, OlsbersMSE (OMSE) Team Principal Andreas Eriksson agreed to test the newly-built Ford Fiesta ST rallycross race car in Detroit for the bid team to film.

The Fiesta ST Rallycross is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol with 550HP (404 kW). The power is sent to OlsbergsMSE transmission and a four-wheel drive system. 0-100 km/h in 2.0 seconds, which you can see in the end of the video. Enjoy!

2014 Ford Mustang GT U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Edition

Ford US has announced the one-off Mustang GT U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Edition. The special edition sports car will be auctioned at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on August 1^st.

2014 Ford Mustang GT Thunderbirds Edition comes with a full wide body kit including new front and rear bumpers, a pair of side skirts and extended wheel arches to fit a set of enormous 22” Forgiato wheels finished in belly pan that recalls the F-16 Thunderbird. The exterior also features three-colour paint job including red, white and blue just like the F-16 Falcons.

The interior boasts a pair of Recaro sports seats, unique sill plates and a new instrument cluster. There is also a new SAT NAV screen and puddle lamps that project an aircraft silhouette on the ground when the doors opened.

The performance is boosted by a new supercharger, a sport suspension and a big Brembo brake system.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Edition joins five other one-of-a-kind Mustangs created by the Ford design and engineering teams for the EAA Young Eagles auction in recent years, each generating excitement among aviation and automotive enthusiasts alike. Ford vehicles sold at auction during past EAA AirVenture events have collectively raised nearly $1.9 million to support Young Eagles.

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor – EcoBoost Sport Truck

Ford has announced the 2014 F-150 Tremor, which is the first-ever EcoBoost-powered sport truck. It that addresses the needs of street truck enthusiasts looking for high-performance V8 power with V6 fuel economy.

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor will hit the market this fall. It comes with FX Appearance Package and super-efficient EcoBoost engine. There is also a launch-optimized 4.10 rear axle – the shortest final drive ratio providing fast acceleration.

The exterior boasts flat-black accents, a set of 20” wheels, stylized bodyside graphics and black badges with red lettering. The interior features a flow-through center console and bucket seats. The is also black leather upholstery with red stitches, brushed-metal accents and a red-stitched steering wheel. Alcantara seat inserts add texture and style as well.

The 2014 F-150 Tremor is powered by a 3.5 liter turbocharged V6 with 365HP (272 kW) at 5,000RPM and 569Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque at 2,500RPM. The engine features twin independent variable camshaft timing for improved performance and fuel economy. Furthermore, up to 90 % peak torque is available from 1,700RPM to 5,000RPM.

An electronic locking rear differential that’s standard for both 2WD and 4WDversions helps deliver the power to the pavement by improving traction during takeoff.

Connectivity comes standard on F-150 Tremor with MyFord Touch powered by SYNC. Designers have optimized the physical interface for MyFord Touch to accommodate truck users who may be wearing work gloves by providing easy access to climate controls and audio presets on the center stack.

TAG Motorsports 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

TAG Motorsports has announced their latest project based on the powerful 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pick-up truck.

TAG Motorsports 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 boosted to 600HP (447 kW). The result is thanks to a Roush Stage 2 supercharger system. Other upgrades include Corsa exhaust system with QTP electronic exhaust cut-out valve, a Roush boost gauge, Kooks header system and high flow catalytic converters.

Other modifications include red-coated lock rings, custom embroidered headrests and a Pace Edwards electronic bed cover.

VUHL 05 Confirmed For 2013 Salon Prive

At this year’s Salon Prive the visitors will have the opportunity of seeing the debut of a future legend. We are speaking here about the highly anticipated new supercar from Mexico – VUHL 05, which will be on the lawns of Syon Park in September.

Although we don’t know much about the forthcoming vehicle, the information that has been released so far reveals that the VUHL 05 will be a road-legal lightweight supercar. It has been precision-engineered for the track and endowed with exhilarating performance.

Up to date, only three teaser images have been released. It was also announced that the vehicle will be officially unveiled in July at Goodwood Festval of Speed, shortly followed by Salon Privé in September.

The name of the car is pronounced “vool” and stands for ‘Vehicles of Ultra- lightweight and High-performance. It is the brainchild of brothers Iker and Guillermo Echeverria, whose Mexican/American design agency, Etxe, penned the breath-taking 05. Some of the suppliers and development partners of the performance car industry which are featured in this project are Magna Steyr, Multimatic and Ford.

Champion Michael Caine To Compete In Special Autoglym BTCC Car

The motorsport specialists at Autoglym and the British GT Champion Michael Caine are going to join forces in order to take part at North East’s Croft circuit this coming weekend. The special car for this event is the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), which is to return to the race track after its victory at the Avon Tyres British GT at Snetterton.

This is the third Mountune-powered Ford Focus ST NGTC which will its maiden race appearance in the stunning red, white and black livery delivered by the British Car Care Company Autoglym. As a matter of fact, the Livery puts an emphasis on one of Autoglym’s class leading and innovative products – LifeShine.

2014 Ford Focus Electric To Be Built And Distributed In Europe

Ford has already begun the production of the 2014 Ford Focus Electric, which is the first full-electric vehicle. In addition, this car will be the firs EV built by the company and distributed in Europe.

Of course, the Focus Electric emits zero CO2 emissions, adding to brand’s line-up of electrified and highly fuel-efficient vehicles. The launch of the model will be joined in Europe by the Ford C MAX Energi plug-in hybrid electric and followed by the Ford Mondeo Hybrid next year.

The car was developed as a “One Ford” global vehicle. It includes an advanced electric motor and lithium-ion battery powertrain. They both produce 145 hp (107 kW) and thanks to this the car achieves a Vmax of 84 mph.

Furthermore, the charging system of the Focus Electric includes a 6.6kW fully integrated onboard charger. The latter is capable of achieving a driving range of around 60 miles with 2-3 hours charging from a 32 A power supply. A full charge of the EV’s battery is in 3-4 hours and offers a 100-mile range.

Adding to this, this Ford EV is equipped with new user interface which is named SmartGauge. The latter calculates and displays the driving range based on remaining energy. In addition, the car also features unique braking and acceleration inputs, and wide range of accessories such as climate control and audio systems.

Focus Electric’s powertrain utilizes regenerative braking. This technology was developed with the aim of capturing up to 95 per cent of kinetic energy, which is usually lost during the braking process. On the other hand the innovative Brake Coach feature delivers gradual braking in order to aid the return of more energy to the battery.

First 2014 Ford Focus Electric vehicles will reach the customers in Europe from July this year.
