Ford and Xbox One Release F-150 Halo Sandcat

Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat is one-off vehicle which celebrates the release of Halo 5: Guardians. This is an Xbox One game, but the truck isn’t only a virtual concept. To make this project happen, Ford teamed up with Xbox, 343 Industries and Galpin Auto Sports (GAS). The special version of the 2015 Ford F-150 looks so awesome, that it could have been designed by the Master Chief himself, doesn’t it?

Design Inspired by Halo’s United Nations Space Command Vehicle

The unique vehicle is based on the Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4×4. Under the hood, it is powered by 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, producing 365 horsepower (268 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft). The vehicle is also equipped with FX4 off-road package.

The design F-150 Halo Sandcat is inspired by Halo’s United Nations Space Command machines and their military outfit.

Based on the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 ever produced, the Halo Sandcat was specifically designated with the M552 codename by the United Nations Space Command. This codename also closely matches F-150’s official Ford codename, P552.

GAS turned the truck into the Sandcat, by adding a wide range of updates in order to achieve the militaristic of United Nations Space Command style that Halo fans will instantly recognize.

To go into details, the Halo Sandcat is equipped with Addictive Desert Designs’ Baja XTR off-road conversion kit. It features FOX Racing shocks, Deaver leaf springs, a Currie full floater rear axle, ADD fenders, side steps, and chase rack. What is more, the pack also adds huge 17-inch wheels fitted with off-road tires which perfectly complement the custom Halo body wrap.

Inside is where the magic happens. GAS installed an Xbox One custom gaming system in the cabin. There are two displays mounted in the rear head restraints and awaiting game players. This feature is so cool, that we definitely need to try it.

For those who are lucky enough to be in LA, Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat will be on display in the South Hall entrance of the Los Angeles Convention Center. The one-off truck will be also on display at several public events ahead of the launch of Halo 5: Guardians.

2016 Ford GT Supercar Revealed! To compete in LM GTE Pro Class [VIDEO]

Ford will return to Le Mans in 2016 with a special Ford GT supercar and will compete in LM GTE Pro class. Furthermore, the Ford team will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ford’s victory back in 1966.

And back in our time, the 2016 GT model will demonstrate incredible aerodynamics, lightweight construction and a special twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6 engine. But not just any EcoBoost engine. This is the most powerful EcoBoost powerplant ever created.

In fact, the supercar is based on the Ford GT model, that was unveiled this year in January. Both vehicles will be ready for the track in 2016 to celebrate the race, that witnessed the three GT cars place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd place back in 1966 on Le Mans race. As you may know, Ford repeated the victory in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

Furthermore, Ford Performance team plans to deliver more than 12 performance vehicles by 2020, which will mark numerous speed innovations, performance and engineer wonders. In fact, the performance segments is an expanding business for Ford, that brings everything, that customers would want: wonderful performance, leading technologies and of course high chances for success on the track. The Performance line includesFord GT, Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R, Focus ST and Fiesta ST models.

The 2016 GT vehicle itself features numerous innovations, as a incredible aerodynamics, that deliver outstanding level of downforce, lightweight carbon-fiber elements, that provide more dynamics on the track and of course numerous tweaks and revisions on the engine, that comes with more power and more efficiency.

In fact, there are some companies, that join forces with Ford in this project. They areMultimatic Motorsports, Roush Yates Engines, Castrol, Michelin, Forza Motorsport, Sparco, Brembo and CGRFS. Every brand has left its mark on the 2016 GT. For example, the design test are made by Ford and Multimatic, while CGRFS provided input into the process. Roush Yates supported the creation of the 3.5-Liter EcoBoost V6 engine.

With such brands, cooperating in the creation process, Ford GT will have some real chances to repeat the historic events of 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969 at the world’s toughest race!

2016 Ford Explorer to be Built in Chicago Assembly Plant

2016 Ford Explorer has been welcomed at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The significantly updated vehicle will be built in the factory and from there distributed in more than 100 markets outside the United States. As a matter of fact, the same plant exported more than 54 000 Ford Explorers last year with customers in Canada and Mexico as the largest consumers.

The Explorer was initially launched 25 years ago in 1990. For these years Ford has sold more than 7 million examples of the model, which makes it the best-selling SUV in America. Now, the 2016 Ford Explorer has been significantly updated and features a lot of new features in comparison to the previous model year.

In addition, the sportier stance of the car is supported by the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost. This means more capability, because the four-cylinder unit is rated at 280 horsepower (2016 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 229 Nm (310 lb.-ft.) of maximum torque at 3,000 rpm. In addition, the Explorer is also fuel efficient despite the 280 horses. In comparison to the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder it replaces, the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost has additional 40 horsepower and 40 lb.-ft. of torque to offer. This is estimated as an increase of 17 percent and 15 percent, respectively.

What is more, there is also another engine in the range, which comes as a standard. It is the 3.5-liter V6 engine that is fitted in the base model, the XLT and Limited trims. It produces 290 horsepower (213 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 346 Nm (255 lb.-ft.) of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine transmits all power onto the road via six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission.

At last, the 2016 Ford Explorer Sport and Platinum editions will be driven by the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 unit, generating more than 365 horsepower (268 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 474 Nm (350 lb.-ft.) of torque at 3,500 rpm. The engine is connected to the six-speed SelectShift as well.

The new Platinum series that was recently announced and it is fitted with a lot of extra equipment and it will go on sale later this summer. Ford Demonstrates Latest Models at Goodwood Moving Motor Show

2015 Ford Mustang and Focus RS models will be presented at this year’s Goodwood Moving Motor Show, that will take place on Thursday 25 June. With fresh models for a fresh event, Ford brand has a lot to demonstrate. Let’s check out details.

The redesigned and refreshed 2015 Mustang model will come with convertible 2.3-Liter EcoBoost engine, that produces 317 hp (233 kW) and total output of 432 Nm of torque. In fact, the galloping beast will make its UK debut at the show.

As well the 2015 Mustang, 2016 Focus ST TDCi will also be debuted at Goodwood Moving Motor Show. In fact, this vehicle demonstrates Ford’s incredible ability to combine high performance and wonderful fuel economy. The 2016 Focus ST TDCi goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Other members of the Ford family, that will take place at the well-known show is the latest and top-selling Fiesta. And now, fifty years later, the youngest member, the Transit Custom SportVan is ready to demonstrate some power and confidence with its 155 hp (113 kW) and 385 Nm of torque, produced by a special 2.2-Liter diesel engine.

Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R Getting Stronger with 526HP [videos]

Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 and GT350R are going to get stronger due to one single fact: they are getting Ford’s 5.2-liter V8 engine. This one is in fact the most power-dense naturally aspirated road-going engine that the company has ever produced. It is also regarded as Ford’s highest-revving production V8 with a redline of 8,250 rpm.

To be more precise, the 5.2-liter flat-plane crankshaft V8 pumps out 526 horsepower (389 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 532 Nm (429 lb.-ft.) at 4,750 rpm, and it will be powering only the two Shelby models. The unit is not only the most powerful naturally aspirated one, but also it is the most efficient… Or at least in terms of specific output. It generates 102 horsepower per liter of displacement.

The design of this new V8 was improved with the help of computer-aided engineering and digital performance simulations. The optimal combination was achieved after millions of intake, cam and exhaust configurations were made.

Usually, the cross-plane crankshaft V8 engines have their piston-carrying connecting rods attached to the crankshaft at 90-degree intervals. Unlike this in the new engine, the angle is changed to 180-degree.

The first noticeable result is the change of the characteristic sound of an American V8. The next one is the improved cylinder exhaust-pulse separation, that also enhances engine’s breathing, thus allowing it to produce more power.

Both Shelby GT350 and GT350R will get the 5.2-liter unit mated to a TR-3160 six-speed manual transmission as an only option. It was specifically engineered for less mass and high-rpm application.

The unique Ford 5.2-liter V8 engine is scheduled to go on sale this fall. And here you can check out how it sounds, because this “noise” will be soon terrorizing tracks around the country.

Hennessey Performance 774HP Mustang GT Runs to 207.9 mph [VIDEO]

2015 Hennessey Ford Mustang GT is to be heard of a lot in the future. The reason for this is that it has been supercharged and can pump out 774 HP! Well, this is not new information, but what I’m going to tell you is simply marvelous. The tuned muscle car has been tested to 207.9 mph! To film this achievement, the TV celebrity Jay Leno visited Texas tuner and he is going to present it in upcoming TV series on CNBC.

Behind the steering wheel was the professional driver, Brian Smith, who drove HPE750 Supercharged Mustang to a top speed of 207.9 mph. As a matter of fact this is the first 2015 Mustang to break the 200 mph mark.

The record-making happened at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds located in Uvalde, Texas. The 8.5 mile track is the same one where John Hennessey drove the HPE700 Mustang to a top speed of 195 mph back in February. Both test speeds were validated with Racelogic’s VBox 3i GPS data logging system.

2015 HPE750 Supercharged Mustang GT is fitted with a supercharged 2.9 liter system for its 5.0L V8 engine. It gives it superpowers so the car is now capable of reaching 774 hp (569 kW) at 7,300 rpm and 878 Nm (648 lb-ft) at 4,400 rpm. The 0-60 mph acceleration is reached within 3.4 seconds, while the 1⁄4 mile is covered in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph.

Only 500 units of this specific car will be produced. Over 50 orders have already been confirmed, so you have to hurry up if you want to own one. The pricing begins at $59,500 USD.

Jay Leno witnessed and filmed the record speed and he is going to feature it in an upcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. It will be aired on CNBC later this year. Ford has finally announced the SYNC 3 technology, that will come as a standard equipment for 2016 Ford Escape and Fiesta. The system is faster and more useful and comes with enhanced response and easy-to-use interface. In fact, SYNC 3 comes with incredible software and hardware features and as you might know, SYNC system is geared in more than 12 million Ford vehicles worldwide.

A Special System Will Help For Parking The 2016 Ford F-150

America’s leader in truck manufacturing, Ford pioneers yet another innovation. This time we are talking about the so called Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which will be included for the 2016 Ford F-150. The system itself helps for easier the backing up a trailer. But the good part is, that the system is precisely designed to help both professional drivers and inexperienced drivers. Cool, huh?

The system itself lets customers to steer the trailer with a special knob, while the truck steers by itself and reduces the overall vehicle speed. But it is much more easier, that it sounds. Check it out!

To operate the Pro Trailer Backup Assist, the driver tweaks a special knob and controls the intensity of rotating and turning the trailer. The system helps to park the truck for less time and with more confidence. In fact, Ford team uses a special camera to monitor the whole process and furthermore, the system earned five patents for the technology. Another interesting fact is that the system took 10 years to be fully developed.

And after the ten years of development, the Pro Trailer Backup Assist will be included in the pack of technologies for the latest 2016 F-150 vehicle. Other systems, included in the pack are the Curve Control System, that activates, when the truck takes a turn with too much speed. What it does is helping the driver to take control of the vehicle by reducing the torque and activating the brake system.

Other additions in the pack include the Lane-Keeping System, that is especially designed to prevent drifting outside the driving lane. What the system does is detecting the left and right hand of the road via special camera and alerts the driver, when he accidently leaves his line.

See How Hennessey VelociRaptor Survives TopGear Test [VIDEOS]

I am sure that you know very well the 2015 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600, right? You can’t miss it because it is very loud, it has this eye-catching yellow color and it is literally huge! Not to mention that it is so powerful that even some of the famous sports cars can envy it.

And if you follow the famous Top Gear or Stig’s YouTube channel, then you should also know that there he has tested it to the limits. The first video below shows behind the scenes of this test. It seems that he actually drove it for fun rather than speed, so Top Gear didn’t time it.

In the second video, you’ll hear how John Hennessey speaking of what it takes to build a vehicle that is capable of surviving a TopGear off-road test. As a matter of fact, the VelociRaptor 600 was one of the last vehicles driven by Jeremy Clarkson on TopGear.

So, basically VelociRaptor 600 can pump out up to 623 horses, due to the addition of a 2.9 Liter Supercharger System to the Ford F-150 FX4 4×4 truck on which it is based. In addition, the 5.0L V8 breathes more deeply thanks to the high-flow air induction system and stainless-steel exhaust system included in the upgrade.

Ford Launches Warriors in Pink Campaign to Help Women Living with Breast Cancer

Every year automobile manufacturers are participating in a lot of charity events that always touch our hearts in their pursuit to make the world a better and more beautiful place. This year, one of Ford Motor Company’s initiatives is the “Warriors in Pink” campaign, which launches today “The Good Day Project”. This is a powerful call which strives to bring more awareness to breast cancer and in particular to bring better to those affected by the disease.

In fact, Ford’s Warriors in Pink has present for over 20 years now and has done a lot in inspiring women to be proactive about their breast health. The Good Day Project does even more: it helps those who are currently battling the disease.

The name of the project is inspired by the fact that the patients characterize their days as “good” or “bad”, and it now comes to change this a little bit. The partnership with Meal Train and Lyft lies at the heart of the project. It comes to offer support services and resources that will be of help to the patients, thus making their everyday life easier.

Meal Train Plus is a platform, which will help in the organization of the meal deliveries and other household needs for affected families. In this project Ford has also partnered with Lyft, thus offering rides to and from appointments for select patients that are under treatment. The availability of the ride-sharing service will begin this June and will roll out across 17 cities across the US.

Up to date, Ford has contributed more than $128 million US dollars to the cause and promises to continue supporting women in their fight with breast cancer. All of the proceeds from will support the organizations related to this disease like the following: The Pink Fund, Susan G. Komen, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and Young Survival Coalition.

Ford Demonstrates Latest Small City Car Additions

Ford demonstrates the latest members of the small city car lineup: the Ka Black and Ka white. Both of the models come with exclusive stylish and beautiful exterior and interior design. The latest Ka models come with black or white bodywork, complicated interior details and both vehicles demonstrate a fresh appeal and wonderful technology features.

The interior design for the Ka Zetec Black and Zetec White editions comes with unique seat trims and high-quality components. The leather-dressed steering wheel and handbrake come with additional white stitching. Even the steering wheel spokes, the centre console, the door grab handles include the beautiful Pearl White finish.

Both models are equipped with Ford’s 1.2-Liter Duratec petrol engine, that comes with 57.6mpg fuel efficiency and 115g/km CO2 emissions.

On the other hand, Ka Titanium models also received additional equipment extras. The standard pack includes leather trim with heated seats, panoramic roof, parking sensors and additional airbags. Exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels and a restyled black grilled. There is also one more color, included: Grey Matter.

Fiesta models

With the wonderful and successful Fiesta Red and Black editions the well-known multi-award 1.0-Liter EcoBoost 140 hp (102 kW) is now available with the Zetec S lineup. 17-inch wheel design, taken from the Red and Black editions is also included on all Zetec S models.

Further additions to all Fiesta models include front LED daytime lights, DAB radio and exterior colors: Candy Red and Metallic Grey.

Engine options

Ford brand has achieved incredible fuel efficiency with the 1.5-Liter TDCi engine, that optimizes the combusting chamber design and proudly demonstrates a cutting-edge turbocharge technology, along with fuel injection technology. Additional features to the engine system are the Auto Start-Stop system, Smart Regenarative Charging , special 5-speed transmission and low rolling resistance tyres.

In fact, Fiesta models can be further upgraded with large range of powerplant units, including the three-time International Engine of the Year 1.0-Liter EcoBoost petrol; the 1.25-Luter Duratec petrol and the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel, that delivers 88.3 mpg fuel efficiency.
