  • Ford Shows GT-Inspired Pieces of Art

2015-Ford-GTTaking the inspiration and passion, that built the redesigned GT supercar, Ford team created innovative and creative designs for a sailboat, guitar foosball tableand other objects. The GT-inspired ideas will be shown at design studios at the world’s leading furniture and design expo. The demonstration shows the interior-influenced idea, that Ford is applying not only to the vehicles, but also to other non-automotive items.

Additional objects, that Ford’s designers had to transform into creations of art include a suspended light, Wi-Fi speaker, two concepts for lounge furniture.

The main principles and goals behind the idea are innovation, that pushes the boundaries of design further in the field of creativity, connection, that keeps in touch with the driver every moment and intent, that shows determination of functionality and beauty. In fact, the general idea behind the redesigned Ford GT is based on the EcoBoost® performance, revised aerodynamics and lightweight.

The Ford team collaborates with architect Attilio Stocchi and shows the GT-inspired pieces of art in different expos. Ford Motor Company is planning a design trend even in Salone del Mobile. The idea is to create a concept, that further improve the boundaries of personal space and experience – both in the physical and the digital worlds.

    Stay tuned for further information!

  • What’s Inside Ford GT?

Ford GT Interior Ford’s carbon fiber GT super car potent of more than 600 horsepower was introduced in the beginning of the year. What we don’t know about it is that its interior has been based on the innovative technologies, clarity of intent in the process of making as well as the aim to be connected to the driver at all times. And this also counts for the car in general, doesn’t it?

We all know that one of the most important requirements is the car to have a great-looking and comfortable interior, since this is the part of the vehicle where occupants and driver spent their time. Nevertheless, the most difficult thing in making the best “inside experience” is that the design must satisfy different customer tastes.

For this reason, Ford specialists have collected valuable data from clients in order to create the best interior. And this happens to be the one of 2016 Ford GT. The process of designing the cabin of the two-door car began with the identification of all components that had to be included.

Then, the second step was to apply the existing DNA principles and innovative design solutions so that it can push the interior design even forward. In particular, there are three guiding principles involved in its creation.

The first one is “clarity of intent” which puts emphasis on the functional aspects of the interior. The next one is “innovation” that comes to break some boundaries and change many perceptions. And the last one is “connection”, based on the aim to include technology which makes an intuitive connection between car and driver.

More importantly, Ford actually managed to implement these fundamentals in new Ford GT’s interior. The result is that the company managed to include technology that is concentrated and organized with essential functions are within a reach.

In addition, the car is lightweight not only because of its carbon infused outer shell but also because the instrument panel includes a two-tier step design with floating wing. This helps in the utilization of the negative space inside and at the same time accentuates over the edge detailing. The effect: more spaciousness inside.

At last, the new interior design is an example of efficiency that can be perceived. In other words, the cabin is filled with soft materials and hard technology that has been harmonized and deliver this feeling of comfort and soft touch.

We definitely expect to see this new approach in other cars like the Ford Mustang for instance. Although the new pony car does not need any changes, this innovative design method might help in the evolution of company’s cars in general.

  • The all new Ford GT Looks and sounds amazing

2016 sees the 50th Anniversary of Fords greatest racing victory, the first of four races in the 24 hours of Le Mans.

With that said Ford are set to introduce the all new Ford GT for the special year.

In the past F1 cars have used a V8 engine but not with the GT.  Ford have decided to use a 600bhp, twin turbo charged V6 engine.

People seemed to lose interest in F1, last year, and it was highly down to cars being designed with V6 engines, they struggled to sound spectacular like other cars.  We then have to ask ourselves is this one of Fords best ideas?

The GT has been a topic of conversation with car lovers everywhere and has even been showcased on Top Gear recently. The sneak look at the proto type gives an insight to the sound and the look of the vehicle.

An aerodynamic body hides a passenger cell crafted out of carbon fibre and a pair of aluminium sub frames keeps both weight and fuel economy in check.

With the seats integrated into the passenger cell, the driver cannot adjust these and must electronically adjust the steering wheel and pedals, something found in Fords competitor Ferrari.

A deployable rear spoiler and scissor mounted doors make the GT look like a very traditional super car but the vehicles fully modern instrument panel with configurable display, make it clear this is a very futuristic, digital kind of car.

It seems the number of European clients for the new GT have been underestimated by Ford. There are 20 times more car lovers interested to purchase than originally expected and this is even before the European price tag has been publicly announced.

A huge demand could mean we do not get to see the GT on the roads by 2016 and therefore should hope the speculation of 12 new performance cars from Ford are announced soon, including the new Ford Focus RS more information is available in this article.

Latest indications from Ford say the all new RS will have a turbocharged 2.3litre, four cylinder eco boost engine seen in the recently launched mustang. Dale Gillespie from JenningsFordDirect a UK based Ford specialist said “Used version of the sporty ford focus Zetec S, ST and RS have increased in demand since the announcement of the GT”.

All of these designs and speculations from Ford are building the hopes up of car enthusiasts around the globe, so we hope they can step up to the plate and deliver these vehicles for when expected.

  • 2016 Ford GT: a Carbon Fiber Supercar that Delivers More Than 600 HP [VIDEO]

No, this is not a Ferrari but Ford’s new GT lightweight carbon-fiber supercar, which is created with the aim to deliver new standards in the supercar segment. It is powered by the most potent EcoBoost production engine ever, delivering more than 600 horsepower. The new GT supercar has rear-wheel drive and a sleek, aerodynamic, two-door coupe body shell. The latter is built via an extensive utilization of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. This enables excellent acceleration and handling with improved efficiency.

GT can also show-off with advanced active aerodynamics like the deployable rear spoiler. There are also a host of material and technology innovations such as the SYNC 3 connectivity system, which will assist the driver during its journey.

As mentioned, the powertrain here is the next-generation twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It features a wide powerband with impressive time-to-torque characteristics, and shows remarkable efficiency.

In addition, the GT supercar features new port/direct dual fuel-injection setup which improves engine response; there is also a low-friction roller-finger-follower valvetrain. The EcoBoost V6 will be coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle for instantaneous gear changes and outstanding driver control.

Aerodynamic efficiency is one of the key characteristics of the vehicle. It actively reduces drag while aiding downforce and stability. Literally, each surface on the GT is crafted to manage airflow. There are also fully active aerodynamic components that enhance braking, handling and stability.

All of this is backed up with contemporary and functional shape, 20-inch multispoke wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires and carbon-ceramic brake discs at all four corners. Inside, one finds two-seat cockpit accessed through upward-swinging doors. The cabin features driver and passenger seats integrated directly into the carbon fiber passenger cell.

Have you noticed the F1-style steering wheel which integrates all necessary driver controls? There is also a fully digital and configurable instrument cluster providing the driver-focused data.

2016 Ford GT will go into production next year and will hit the road in select global markets. It will to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars placing 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

  • Ultima GTR Twin Turbo Charged by Heffner [VIDEO]

Heffner-Ultima-GTR-shadowHeffner-Ultima-GTR-mediumYou May have heard about the Ultima GTR. If you haven’t, all you need to know is that it comes from a small company (Ultima Sports) based in Leicestershire, England and can be ordered as a kit car. It is fiberglassy (light), has a tubular steel space frame chassis, an engine mount in the middle and rear-wheel drive. Best of all, you can slot in a variety of power plants in it and it will still run. Ergo, the Ultima GTR is the tuner’s dream come true.

So, back in November, Heffner sported an Ultima GTR on their Facebook page. The caption claimed a power output of “over 1,000” wheel hp and a weight of just 2,500 pounds. Today we bring you a YouTubic testiment to that. Driving Force Club have laid their hands on it. Well, we are 90% sure that this is the same car, given the green Heffner rear wing winglets and callipers and the same ADV.1 wheels. This one has 850 hp though. Still, the custom twin turbo Ford GT engine it sounds ear-bleedingly good. And hey, it does really weigh as little as 2,500 (almost)

Technicalities aside, just watch these rear wheels struggle for grip on a car that weighs less than a Big Mac:

  • Ford GT HRE Wheels and eGarage [VIDEO]

Ford-GT-HRE-thumb“It’s now what you say, it’s how you say it”, that’s what my girlfriend always tells me in an argument. I guess she has a valid point and that the same phenomena can be observed elsewhere. Cinematography for example: It’s not what you film, it’s how you film it. That brings us to the storytellers at eGarage.com. What they can do with a Ford GT and four HRE Wheels is evident in this clip which came up recently.

I personally am not a fan of the Ford GT. I see it more as heap of aluminum, lingering in the shadow of it’s own predecessor (the Ford GT40). Sure, the new one has many new and unique technologies (i.e. – a capless fuel filler system so that you don’t strain yourself every time you stop for a refill… which happens a lot). It also has a punchy twin supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine which puts out 550 hp and 678 Nm of torque at just 3750 rpm – very muscle-like. The Ford GT sounds nice too and apparently, it looks like a Ferrari or something as well. Yet somehow it never really caught on. Or maybe that’s just me being bitter.

Either way, this one in the clip has been modified only in the wheel compartment. HRE Monoblok P44SC wheels from the P40SC line with a V-Five 10 spoke design and a bronze finish. A finish appropriate on a memorial.

  • /Drive’s Matt Farah Test Drives Venom GT Spyder [VIDEO]

Hennessey-Venom-GT-Spyder-thumbWatch this neat video of the Hennessey Venom GT Spyder being reviewed by Matt Farah – web series “/Drive” presenter who mainly focuses on the sub-category of highly modified vehicles (/Tuned). Simply being in a Venom GT (especially with the wind in your hair) is scary enough so kudos to him for actually letting us in the ecitement.

    Hennessey Venom GT Spyder
    Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

To the keen observer, the Venom GT is just a mere Lotus Exige that looks like as if it has had some intimate moments with a Porsche Carrera GT. But the truth is that under the carbon fiber hood (every bit of the Venom body is carbon fiber) there is space for 7.0-liters of twin turbo V8 goodness that produces 1244 bhp. The gear box is lifted up from a Ford GT so no faults there as well.

You don’t really want to read all about it. Here, watch the video and share the experience:

  • Hennessey Ford GT Sets Texas Mile Speed Record – 257.7 mph [VIDEO]

Hennessey-Ford-GT-thumbHere’s a video of a Ford GT setting up a record on the Texas Mile Event at Chase Field Industrial Complex in south Texas: 257.7 mph – full 4.6 mph faster than the previous champion.

As you might have guessed, this is no ordinary Ford GT. It’s a Hennessey job this. Owned by Mark Heidaker, driven by Sean Kennedy this overhauled beast wrote some history. But before that, some professional help was needed. That’s when Hennessey Performance glued 34 psi Precision Turbochargers to the 5.4 liter Ford engine. The engine and power management as well as the data acquisition system were all installed and tuned by MoTeC people. Add some high-octane racing gasoline and you’ve got yourself a record breaking formula.

“I think I can do better in the lower gears next time and we can run an even better speed.” said Kennedy – ambitious. So, next stop: the Texas Mile Event on October the 26th 2012. Goal: 260 mph.
