2015 Ford F-150 is definitely one of our favorite light-duty trucks. And now it comes with even more upgrades, especially made to bring even more aerodynamic features. Ford incorporated a special air curtain technology, which first was shown with the latest Ford Mustang. The technology itself allows air to flow through a special vent underneath the headlamps and go out around the wheels. This will help some smoother air movement and will improve the driving experience. Or at least it is expected to do it.

And by incorporating such a technology system into the F-150, Ford engineers managed to reduce the drag and deliver some improved gasoline consumption. In fact, the team managed to create the best-in class EPA-estimated rating of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.

In fact, not many people know, that the rotating wheels are major source of drag. And with the enclosing the wheels in skirts, the flow is now smoother and works incredibly well with numerous vehicles, but not with a machine like 2015 Ford F-150. So, the team went for a different approach.

To operate the Pro Trailer Backup Assist, the driver tweaks a special knob and controls the intensity of rotating and turning the trailer. The system helps to park the truck for less time and with more confidence. In fact, Ford team uses a special camera to monitor the whole process and furthermore, the system earned five patents for the technology. Another interesting fact is that the system took 10 years to be fully developed.

And after the ten years of development,  the Pro Trailer Backup Assist will be included in the pack of technologies for the latest 2016 F-150 vehicle. Other systems, included in the pack are the Curve Control System, that activates, when the truck takes a turn with too much speed. What it does is helping the driver to take control of the vehicle by reducing the torque and activating the brake system.

Other additions in the pack include the Lane-Keeping System, that is especially designed to prevent drifting outside the driving lane. What the system does is detecting the left and right hand of the road via special camera and alerts the driver, when he accidently leaves his line.

Ford F-Series vehicles are one of the toughest and biggest machines in the industry at the current moment. The news around them is that they just got a factory-installed strobe warning LED light kit. This of course counts only for the F-Series Super Duty trucks from the 2016 model year. The kit will be offered as an available option for $700 USD additional price.

The reason for this extra kit is that the vehicles like the Super Duty trucks require improved visibility while working on-site. These strobe lights on F-Series Super Duty trucks help perfectly at worksites and are designed to warn motorists and others that there might be workers, so they must proceed with caution.

Furthermore, Ford guarantees that the no-drill option is not pliable to corrosion. In addition, to this, the front- and rear-mounted amber-lens strobe lights can be seen as far as 1,000 feet away during the day. This range is rated at one mile at night. They can be mounted on the rear edge of the hood without cutting or drilling.

There is also a replacement trim panel with pre-mounted on-off switch, which perfectly fits into the existing auxiliary switch port. What is more, the rear-facing signals are integrated into the center high-mounted stop lamp and they can provide up to 180 degrees of illumination.

Ford also assures that the LEDs are low-power, weather-resistant and very durable. However, they should be used only near work site and not during normal road driving.
