  • Hamann BMW M5 F10 – It’s not tuning, It is styling

Hamann has introduced their latest project based on the powerful sports saloon – BMW M5 F10. The exterior is entirely changed, so practically it is very hard to say, what type of car did they used to create THIS?!

“Tuning”, is when take a car and make it better – more powerful, more beautiful and stylish, better to drive, etc. “Styling” is something else. It is when take a good-looking car and make it worse… a lot worse.

In fact, this is seriously “injured” BMW M5, which is one of the best cars in the world. What did they thought in first place, when creating this thing.

Actually, Haman is planning to create 10 of these horrible-looking cars, each priced at $235,000. We are curious, who will buy such ugly car

F10 M5 is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 560PS (412 kW) and 680Nm (502 lb-ft). On the other hand, the Tesla Model S is powered by a 416HP (310 kW) and 600Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque rear mounted electric motor. It is interesting that the electric motor has its full torque (600Nm) from the 1st RPM. The car weighs 2105 kg (4640 lbs).

Although the Tesla S is underpowered, it manages to win this race. Still, we do not believe that, because the M5 driver made terrible start.

  • Kelleners Sport BMW M5 F10

Kelleners-Sport-KS5-S-BMW-M5-thumbIt was not long ago when we got a word from Kelleners Sport about their work on the BMW 5 Touring F11 Series – a somewhat subtle and refined job, perfectly appropriate for the mildly sensible man. With this one though, they have gone an extra mile. It’s an F10 BMW M5 and according to the figures, it’s one of their most powerful products yet.

The program is called the KS5-S and it boost the M5‘s 4.4-liter V8 to 600 hp. That’s around 40 bhp on top. Because of that, the top speed is now 330 km/h but one would not have to reach such extremes to notice the additional power. The Kelleners Sport valve-controlled stainless-steel rear silencers with four 90 mm diameter tailpipes will make sure you get the point as soon as you turn the key.

On the outside, the mirror-caps have been given a carbon fiber makeover. That is also true for the Kellener rear spoiler and diffuser. The front lip spoiler and side mouldings complete the custom aerodynamic kit.

As for the suspension, again a Kelleners Sport system has been provided which can be height adjusted but also rebound and compression configurable. Throw in two pairs of Kelleners “Hamburg” wheels 9×20 and 10×20 respectively and you get little to no space for the wheel housings.

Inside, a typical BMW-ish environment has been supplemented by black leather seats with gray stitching. On the front two head restraints there’s the Kelleners Sport logo. The wheel is also new, the floor mats are from velour and the pedals are all aluminum.

The beauty if this program is that if you don’t like something, rule it out. Everything is available individually.

  • BMW recalls 1 300 000 cars

Usually, we don’t report anything related to manufacturers, but this is very important and potentially dangerous. BMW AG is the world’s largest premium car manufacturer and one of the most expensive brands in the world. It is reccaling around 1.3 million cars for repair due to a possible problem with a battery cable cover in the trunk. Because of this, the car can catch fire, which is extremely dangerous and hard to cope with.

This can happen with all models from 5- and 6-Series BMWs built between 2003 and 2010. This includes all E60, E61, F10 and F11 from the 5-Series and E63 and E64 from the 6-Series.

BMW stated: “In some remote cases, the battery cable cover inside the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted, This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire.”

Still, less than 1% of the problematic vehicles have exhibited the problem and there are no reports of fires. The repairing procedure is really easy and would take around 30 minutes to an hour. Of course, It would be free of charge to customers.

However, the recall affects more than 368 000 car in the US, 293 000 cars in Germany and another 109 000 cars in UK.

So, if you have such car, be hurry and check your local dealer to eliminate possible problem.
