    For the start of Paris Fashion Week, Womenswear Ready-to-Wear Spring-Summer 2023, DS Automobiles is unveiling its latest creation, New DS 3. Longstanding partner of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, DS Automobiles chose this unmissable event in the fashion capital to reveal New DS 3 in the streets of Paris and to invite its ambassador Andrea Brotschi to unveil New DS 3 in a photoshoot depicting a black dress with a very long train that contrasts with New DS 3’s fresh Diva Red colour.

    Benchmark in its segment in terms of design, technology and electrification, DS 3 CROSSBACK becomes New DS 3. Characterised by a new more efficient and dynamic front, a restructured and attractive range, the arrival of new technology and a new electric motor/battery pairing for its 100% electric version, New DS 3 really stands out from the competition.

    Power of seduction: New face, refined rear and exclusive colours

    New DS 3 shows its daring with a unique shape. Its design constitutes a balance between lines and volume. The most obvious developments involve the front. They give a new dynamism and feeling of solidity while maintaining the height of elegance.

    The design language of the rest of the DS Automobiles range is applied with a redesigned grille, wider and enhanced with gloss black or chromed diamond tips depending on the model. The identifying DS WINGS have been tweaked to subtly join the grille and headlamps.

    The new LED headlamps – standard across the range – introduce a more dynamic design and give New DS 3 a sharper look with three feature modules emphasised with satin chrome. The DS MATRIX LED VISION, with intelligent control and automatic main beam for maximum comfort and safety are also offered as an option. The new daytime running lights feature two LED lines vertically arranged either side of the front for a distinctive and widening signature, consistent with the latest DS Automobiles design language.

    New DS 3 has also evolved stylistically as well as technically. The new spoiler and grille have been totally redesigned to optimise the car’s aerodynamic performance. The aerofoils framing the lower air intake grille demonstrate this new efficiency.

    The attention to detail is also conveyed on the finish of the badges positioned on the grille and the bonnet with the addition of a Clous de Paris embossed insert and a variety of colours depending on the model.

    The profile maintains its distinctive signatures, balancing between daring design and technical expertise with the distinctive DS 3 shark’s fin, flush flitting door handles and invisible exterior window seals.

    The rear has been refined: the lights and the tailgate are tastefully emphasised with a lacquered black strip. This gets the “DS Automobiles” signature through a unique technology, the letters in polished stainless steel being divided and set one by one in the trim, as on New DS 7.

    The wheels introduce a completely new design for an increase in efficiency. Available in 17 and 18 inches, they are divided according to different themes and colours. In the 100% electric E-TENSE model, New DS 3 is available with new 18-inch TOULOUSE wheels shod with “Tall & Narrow Class A+” tyres.

    New DS 3 is offered with seven body colours, opaque, metallic and pearlescent, including two new pearlescent colours: Diva Red, a three-layer colour exclusive to New DS 3, and Lacquered Grey. Crystal Pearl, Platinum Grey, Artense Grey, Perla Nera Black and Polar White complete the offering with the option of creating bi-tone combinations with two variations of roof: Perla Black or the new Carat Grey.

    AN INTERIOR INSPIRED BY THE BIGGEST NAMES IN FRENCH LUXURY

    Driven by a unique design model, the DS Automobiles team showcases remarkable expertise which is replicated in each of its creations. New DS 3 draws inspiration from French luxury expertise to bring life to an exclusive vibe.

    Materials are chosen with the aim of offering a finish characterised by excellence, innnovation and sustainability.

    The leathers, particularly the Nappa Leather upholstery with the weathered Art Leather finish, Alcantara®, and details such as the “pearl” stitching or Clous de Paris embossed inserts show the uniqueness of DS Automobiles cockpits. This attention to detail, firmly rooted in the Brand’s DNA, is inside New DS 3 and represents a major point of difference.

    The driving position has changed with the adoption of a new steering wheel, regrouping controls for driver aids and infotainment buttons and combined with gearshift paddles for the automatic gearboxes. A new 10.3-inch high definition central screen is now offered as standard, with the new DS IRIS SYSTEM infotainment system built in.

    New DS 3’s seats feature design and technology that serves beauty and wellbeing. These seats are figure hugging and covered with an innovative high-density foam, for class-leading seating comfort. The front seats can be heated, massaging (lumbar) and electric (front and back, up and down, reclining, lumbar settings).

    At the top of the range, OPÉRA introduces a Basalt Black Nappa Leather interior with watchstrap seats for immersion in creative luxury, tinged with character and modernity.

    The RIVOLI level offers new Basalt Black grained leather seats with scale-effect Basalt Black trim. A Pebble Grey upholstery with combined Nappa Leather/cloth is also available.

    For the PERFORMANCE Line and PERFORMANCE Line + levels, the seats, the dashboard strips and the door panels are embellished with Alcantara®. The new Basalt Black grained leather seats are available as an option. The PERFORMANCE Line + level gets extra equipment such as a central armrest, mats and lighting for the sun visors and footwells.

    The BASTILLE level has been completely revised with new Silicium Grey Peruzzi Cloth seats, with scale-effect grain strips on the dashboard and door panels. As an option, new Basalt Black grained leather seats are available.

    A RANGE OF MULTI-ENERGY DRIVETRAINS TOPPED BY A NEW 100% ELECTRIC E-TENSE MODEL

    The multi-energy brand with the lowest CO2 emissions in Europe since 2020, DS Automobiles is offering New DS 3 with three different kinds of drivetrain: electric, petrol and Diesel.

    With two Teams’ and Drivers’ titles in Formula E and the record for the number of wins, pole positions and podiums with the second generation single seater, DS Automobiles is benefitting from its excellent record in competition to introduce new electric techology.

    New DS 3 E-TENSE gets a completely new electric motor (assembled in Trémery-Metz), a reduction gear (produced in Valenciennes) and a new battery (assembled in Poissy) for increases in power and range.

    The new hybrid synchronous motor (HSM) benefits from the expertise acquired in Formula E to demonstrate high efficiency. It offers 115 kW (156 horsepower) of power and 260 Nm of torque at a voltage of 400 Volts. The new 54 kWh battery (50.8 kWh usable) has thermal control through liquid circulation and a heat pump that enables rapid charging, better range and increased lifespan. As standard the onboard charger takes 100 kW in direct current (0 to 80% in 25 minutes) and 11 kW in alternating current (0-100% in 5 hours).

    The architecture has been optimised. With improved energy density, the battery is very compact and distributed beneath the front and rear seats and centre tunnel. Usability and driving position are absolutely identical to those of other drivetrains and impact resistance exceeds the most stringent requirements.

    Unique in its segment, New DS 3 E-TENSE manages up to 402 kilometres of range on the WLTP combined cycle (12.6 kWh / 100 km) and more than 500 km in city traffic, because of the efficiency of the electric motor, its ability to recover energy, ancilliary equipment such as the heat pump, thermal pre-conditioning and the new LED headlamps as well as the aerodynamic optimisation at the front and wheels and lowering ground clearance by 10 mm on models with Tall & Narrow 17 and 18-inch wheels. All these factors together enable a gain of up to 7.6 % on the SCx to be achieved.

    New DS 3 is also being offered with two petrol drivetrains: PureTech 100 with 6-speed manual gearbox and PureTech 130 with 8-speed automatic gearbox. A Diesel BlueHDi 130 with an 8-speed automatic gearbox is also on offer. In these two guises, these engines comply with the most recent anti-pollution standards.

    FULL OF TECHNOLOGY INSIDE

    New DS 3 gets a new infotainment system available via a large 10.3-inch high definition central screen with a redesigned gloss black surround. Connected navigation and intelligent voice recognition are offered by DS IRIS SYSTEM. The distinctive characteristic of this system is the ability for the user to personalise the central screen and the 7-inch instrument panel, complete with head up display that projects essential information in the driver’s eye line. The central screen is split into 12 squares and can accommodate varying sized widgets. As for the instruments, they are split into two distinct parts that can both be personalised. At the same time, the features can be controlled with an advanced voice recognition system in forty languages or with touch controls on the central pad. The function set-up has been revised to improve the ergonomics and include the specifics of DS IRIS SYSTEM. The mirroring feature is now available wirelessly.

    Viewable on the large central screen, VISIO PARK 2 enriches the range of driver aids available on New DS 3 by offering parking help with 360° vision reproduced through new high resolution digital cameras.

    Fitted as standard with a camera behind its windscreen, New DS 3 includes as standard high-level driver aids: Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition with information reproduced on the instrument display, and Active Safety Brake up to 85km/h.

    By scanning its surroundings with radar positioned behind the front bumper and additional sensors, DS DRIVE ASSIST combines the adaptive cruise control with the Stop and Go function and lane keeping assist to offer level 2 semi-autonomous driving. DS DRIVE ASSIST positions the car with the help of road markings according to where the driver wants. This feature copes with repeatedly stopping and starting and effortlessly maintains its trajectory. It is linked to the Active Safety Brake system. Capable of detecting other vehicles but also cyclists and pedestrians, even in poor light between 5 and 140 km/h, this automatic emergency braking analyses the risks of a collision and can apply maximum braking force to avoid an impact or limit the consequences of one.

    Available as an option, Extended Traffic Sign Recognition detects speed limit signs in addition to some road signs (stop signs, one way, no entry and end of overtaking restrictions).

    Fitted with LED headlamps throughout the range, New DS 3 introduces a new face. Composed around three horizontally aligned rectangular modules and highlighted by elegant satin trim, this new design gives a more daring look. Lighting performance is enhanced while energy consumption is reduced for improvements in range (E-TENSE 100 % electric) or CO2 emissions (internal combustion engines).

    DS MATRIX LED VISION is available as an option. This arrangement produces a light beam that adapts automatically to its setting, which enables continuous driving in “main beam” mode without dazzling other road users. DS MATRIX LED VISION operates with 3 LED modules which have the “dipped beam” function, but also a unit split into 15 segments for each headlamp. The LEDs in this unit turn on and off progressively, segment by segment, depending on the driving conditions detected by a camera at the top of the windscreen. DS MATRIX LED VISION lights up far and wide without ever dazzling the vehicle that’s in front or approaching from the opposite direction. Real comfort and a real safety benefit, particularly at night.

    New DS 3 showcases flush fitting door handles. This exclusive technology enables purity of design to be maintained, gives an avant-garde touch to the shape and maximises its aerodynamic efficiency. The door handles fold out when the user needs them and blend into the side of the car the rest of the time, whether it’s stopped or driving. What’s more, with its hands-free access and starting system (PROXIMITY KEYLESS ENTRY & START), you just have to approach the car (within 1.5 metres) for it to unlock and the 4 handles to fold out automatically. Upon walking away, they fold in and the car locks itself.

    NEW CONNECTED SERVICES FOR THE ENTIRE NEW DS 3 RANGE

    Driven by the MyDS app, these services enable the locking/unlocking of the doors, switching on the headlights, triggering an audible signal and controlling remote charging of the battery. The opportunity to control programming the thermal pre-conditioning and programming and management of New DS 3 E-TENSE’s charge status can be added. The MyDS app is also augmented with a Send2Nav module which enables a destination to be searched for and sent straight to New DS 3’s infotainment system.

    A simplified range

    The new DS 3 range adopts the principal started by New DS 7. The new OPERA specification becomes the most exclusive. Equipment levels have been reimagined, enabling a smoother climb through the range. The number of options has been reduced, through re-equipping or the creation of option packs to make customer understanding easier. Prices for new DS 3 start from 30,100 euros with the PureTech 100 Manual in BASTILLE specification.

    The new DS 7 is an evolution of the first 100 per cent DS Automobiles design revealed in 2017, DS 7 CROSSBACK, which projected a new spirit of the avant-garde. Acclaimed for its unparalleled interiors, its remarkable refinement and its cutting-edge technology, DS 7 CROSSBACK opened the way for new developments, now embodied by New DS 7.

New DS 7’s character is given a boost, particularly at the front and rear, while its design still fits into the current DS Automobiles range.     A design enhanced by sharp lines and lit up by DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 and DS LIGHT VEIL

    The character of the new DS 7 is formed from several stunning details. Always elegant, new DS 7 brings more dynamism with sharper, more structural lines and a coherent design.

    The completely new front stands out with sharper lines to develop the balance of each feature. The DS DESIGN STUDIO PARIS team worked closely with the production team at the Mulhouse, France factory to achieve exceptional results in terms of quality and solidity.

    The light signature is developing with an even more expressive look. The combination of new slimmer DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 headlamps and DS LIGHT VEIL daytime running lights is seamless and carried out in the spirit of high fashion. The DS WINGS and the grille are larger and the valance has been redesigned with a range of colours depending on the model.

    The slimmer scale-like LED rear lights with a vortex effect have also been redesigned with a dark metallic finish. They emphasise the unique expression of new DS 7. The boot lid and badge have been reworked with sharper lines, while DS AUTOMOBILES lettering replaces the previous ‘CROSSBACK’ to sign off the visually stretched rear of new DS 7.

    The wheels play a part in the profile’s character with new 19-inch alloy wheels, which are more aerodynamic and feature a design aimed at amplifying the impression of size, and exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels, with a carved technical design, exclusive to the new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360.

    The window surrounds and roof bars are offered with a Gloss Black variant to emphasise the dynamism of the silhouette.

    DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0

    DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 introduces a new technology that adds an extra dimension to the model. The PIXEL modules on new DS 7 optimise the management of light output, while maintaining three identifying modules that feature on the entire range. The PIXEL function provides optimum lighting as the light flow is more powerful, more regular and has an increased range of up to 380m on the main beam. In town the width of the beam is up to 65m. On the inner edge, two dipped headlight/sidelight modules illuminate together while the outer edge PIXEL main beam module features 84 LEDs in three rows. Lighting in corners is controlled by the intensity of the PIXEL module’s exterior LEDs which is altered by the angle of the steering.

    DS LIGHT VEIL

    The daytime running lights were inspired by work on DS X E-TENSE and DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE.. DS LIGHT VEIL is made up of a daytime running light and four vertical luminous features made up of 33 LEDs. This innovation comes from the manufacturing process where the laser etched polycarbonate surface is painted on the inside, to give the impression of light travelling through the bodywork, alternating between light and parts that are body coloured. It creates an effect of depth and brightness like a piece of jewellery. DS LIGHT VEIL illuminates and goes out when the car is locked and unlocked.

    The best French expertise for lovers of beautiful materials

    Just like the largest Paris fashion houses, DS Automobiles bestows special care on the choice of materials and how they are treated. Through upholstery interior surroundings in the new DS 7 were created to make each journey different.

    The height of refinement, new DS 7 OPERA is offered with two Nappa leather colours: Basalt Black and Pearl Grey. Over wider expanses, the highest quality part of the hide adds a natural and enchanting touch to the interior.

    New upholstery introduces an engaging, visible and tactile result, specifically draped Nappa leather on the dashboard and door panels. Without seams or joins they keep the feel and appearance of natural leather. The hide is further elevated by embossing with lines reminiscent of the DS LIGHT VEIL signature.

    The attention to detail of this interior is also shown by the pearl stitching offered in the new white and Zephyr colours, a steering wheel in full grain leather with a leather covered airbag, ‘Clous de Paris’ embossed inserts ‑ synonymous with DS Automobiles ‑ and watchstrap upholstery offered for the first time in Pearl Grey.

    Refinement also features in the RIVOLI interior which introduces a Basalt Black colour and has a stitched padded trim that has been combined with Claudia leather upholstery, which has a more pronounced leather grain.

    The PERFORMANCE LINE interior features a deeper black colour with the microfibre textile Alcantara® throughout and gold and carmine touches that emphasise the dynamic appearance.

    The BASTILLE interior has been refreshed with a new DS Canvas finish and a Basalt Black grain inspired by the scales on fish skin.

    All these interiors are enhanced with ambient lighting that can be personalised and a new pattern based on ‘Clous de Paris’ embossed inserts.

    DS AUTOMOBILES NAPPA LEATHER

    Drawing inspiration from the metal bracelet of a luxury watch, made of a multitude of parts fitted together, the DS Automobiles team created a seat base and back from a single piece of leather and without a bead of stitching, to create incredible comfort. The seat is made of high-density foam with more material than traditionally used for a classic seat. The high-quality Nappa leather comes from cows raised for their meat, living in fields without barbed wire. Only the highest quality leather is used and dyed with a special colour in Basalt Black or Pearl Grey.

    HIGH PERFORMANCE PETROL/ELECTRIC HYBRID AND MULTI-ENERGY POWER UNITS

    As the multi-energy brand with the lowest CO2 emissions in Europe for the last two years and multiple Formula E champion, DS Automobiles has chosen to offer new DS 7 with a range of power units, including three plug-in hybrids with 225hp, 300hp and 360hp.

    New DS 7 E-TENSE 225 has a PureTech 180 petrol engine and a 110hp electric motor fitted to the eight-speed automatic gearbox, with a two-wheel drive transmission.

    New DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 300 and DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 introduce a four-wheel drive transmission with a PureTech 200 motor as well as 110hp and 112hp electric motors on each of the axles. The 360 model is tuned by DS Performance. A 130 BlueHDi power unit will also be available.

    A new 14.2 kWh battery gives up to 65km with zero emissions on the WLTP mixed cycle and up to 81km on the urban cycle. Charging time is about two hours on a 7.4kW charger.

    In keeping with the outstanding attributes of the entire DS Automobiles range, new DS 7 remains one of the most efficient cars in its class, specifically because of its well-controlled weight.

    NEW DS 7 E-TENSE 4X4 360

    The spirit of grand touring by DS Automobiles is embodied in new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360. To go with the rush of power (200hp engine, front electric motor with 110hp and rear electric motor with 112hp), new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 enjoys special tuning by DS PERFORMANCE to optimise its energy management. It has a DS ENERGY COACH application that supports the driver improve energy recovery through braking. The chassis is lowered by 15mm, the track is wider (+24mm at the front, +10mm at the rear) and the front brakes are 380mm in diameter with callipers by DS PERFORMANCE. New 21-inch BROOKLYN wheels are added to a new Lacquered Grey colour which highlights the special curves and charisma of this model. Acceleration from zero to 62mph is achieved in 5.6 seconds and 1,000m start-stop is accomplished in 25.4 seconds.

    TECHNOLOGY AT THE HEART OF THE WHOLE NEW DS 7 OFFERING

    The infotainment system is one of the biggest changes for new DS 7 with the inclusion of DS IRIS SYSTEM. This new solution introduces a totally reworked interface, that is completely configurable, reactive and seamless and supported by natural voice recognition.

    The redesigned 12-inch high-resolution touch screen features a menu made up of widgets for accessing all its functions with a single movement: for controlling the connected navigation, the ventilation, the digital audio sources and journey information. This big screen also enables views front and rear to be displayed, provided by new high-resolution digital cameras, and access to the Mirror Screen function over wi-fi.

    A new large 12-inch digital instrument panel, with displays that can be changed and personalised, features refreshed graphics with all the vital information such as energy flow on plug-in hybrid versions. 

    UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY FOR THE SEGMENT

    New DS 7 also offers technology for more comfort and relaxation such as DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION and DS NIGHT VISION. DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION is a camera-controlled damping system that is completely unique in its class. It adjusts each wheel independently according to imperfections in the carriageway. With DS NIGHT VISION, an infrared camera sweeps the carriageway and its edges to detect cyclists, pedestrians and animals at distances up to 100m. The driver receives the information in the new high resolution digital instrument display, reinforced by a special warning in the event of danger.

    Safety is optimised with DS DRIVER ATTENTION MONITORING and DS DRIVE ASSIST level 2 semi-autonomous driving.  DS DRIVER ATTENTION MONITORING analyses the driver’s level of attention with two cameras. The first checks the behaviour of the car in its surroundings and the second, positioned facing the driver, diagnoses where they are looking and their face and eyelid movement which translates to the level of sleepiness and attention. This is unprecedented in the segment. New DS 7 is equipped with DS DRIVE ASSIST, adaptive cruise control that can initiate stopping and restarting without the driver intervening and an aid that enables the driver to keep the car either where it is or where they position it in the lane.

    New DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 LA PREMIÈRE

    A limited edition new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 LA PREMIÈRE is being offered at launch. Based on the new DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 360 OPÉRA, it introduces a new Gloss Black front bumper blade, black monograms and badges and a gloss black finish on the DS WINGS, the grille, the window surrounds and roof bars. The interior is available in Basalt Black and Pearl Grey. It will be offered in a choice of four colours: Lacquered Grey, Perla Nera Black, Platinum Grey and Crystal Pearl.

  • Risk of a fatal accident is five times greater after dark, according to analysis by DS Automobiles

    As the long nights draw in, new analysis by DS Automobiles shows that the risk of a fatal accident is five times greater between 7pm and 7am*, owing to poor visibility, headlight dazzle and fatigue.

    In 2019, the rate of fatal accidents at night was approaching 40%, despite night-time journeys accounting for just one fifth of total journeys in the UK.

    DS Automobiles is highlighting the danger of night driving on UK roads during the winter months to showcase its suite of innovative technologies; including DS ACTIVE LED VISION and DS NIGHT VISION.

    The premium French car brand analysed the rate of fatal accidents in 2019 against the Department for Transport traffic flow index to calculate the risk of a fatal accident against hourly traffic volumes in the UK.

    During the winter months, there is an increased risk of accidents on the UK’s roads, due to factors including poor weather, limited visibility and night blindness, also known as nyctalopia, a condition which means your eyes are unable to adapt sufficiently to low-light conditions.

    At 50mph, the DS 7 CROSSBACK covers more than 22 metres per second. At that speed at night, the driver cannot spot every potential danger. To improve the safety of the driver and their passengers, DS NIGHT VISION provides enhanced visibility, thanks to an infrared camera positioned in the grille.

    Artificial intelligence analyses the camera footage in real-time and interprets the behaviour of pedestrians or livestock up to 100 metres away, on the carriageway and at the sides of the road. The picture is then represented on the large digital instrument panel in front of the driver, using thermal imagery to clearly illuminate obstacles on the screen.

    Meanwhile, DS ACTIVE LED VISION headlights feature a main projector headlamp, together with a cluster of three LEDs that rotate 180° to aid the driver by focusing the light on the road. At night, the beam adapts in width and range to the road conditions and vehicle speed. Six lighting modes are available and selected automatically by the system: Parking, Town Beam, Country Beam, Motorway Beam, Adverse Beam and High Beam.

    By lighting up the road more effectively and over a greater distance, drivers and passengers alike benefit from greater levels of safety, without causing headlight dazzle for other road users.

  • One in four still looking to spend on premium goods despite challenges of pandemic

    Despite the challenges of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic, new research by DS Automobiles has revealed almost a quarter of the UK public (24%) are still likely to make a premium purchase over the next twelve months. According to the poll, respondents plan to invest over £3,500 on average to procure items including jewellery, technology, designer clothing and holidays; while over a quarter of those surveyed (28.3%) are looking to purchase a new car.

    When making a premium purchase decision, 60% of respondents cited the price point as the most important factor, in addition to other aspects including the materials used (42%), the brand name (39%) and the reputation of the brand product or service (39%).

    And it seems provenance is also important to us when purchasing luxury goods, Parisian brands topped the table in the survey of 2,000 people conducted by OnePoll; with a quarter of respondents associating the French capital with luxury goods. One third of the UK public also believe Paris is the most stylish capital in the world (33%)* beating the likes of Milan (23%), London (19%) and New York (9%).

    When asked about making a premium car purchase specifically, nearly half of those surveyed stated high levels of interior technology and features as the main qualities they look for when making a decision, with standout design (35%) coming in second on the list. Other desirable qualities included high performance powertrains and the use of fine interior materials such as leather and crystal glass.     Revised drivetrain system and fuel economy

    DS 7 CROSSBACK comes with PureTech 225 petrol unit that delivers a total of 225hp and offers better fuel consumption efficiency, compared to older systems and models. In order to reach this incredible power to economy ratio, the engineering team has done several things: first, engineers have improved the combustion cycles via adopting multiple injection management system, second, there were special oils incorporated that reduce friction and last, but most certainly not least, the turbo-compressor system was revised – there was an electric waste gate installed and the turbine and compressor yield was improved.

    Furthermore, this system is mated to a new EAT8 automatic 8-speed gearbox that fits perfectly the engine and offers a special ECO driving mode that, when engaged, returns the engine to idle and disengages the gearbox with each lift of the foot off the accelerator pedal between speeds of 20 to 145km/h.   • DS 4S Gathers Glances in China with Refined and Expressive Styling

    DS 4S front viewCitroen’s sub-brand DS Automobiles marks a strong presence at the Beijing Auto Show at the moment. It has debuted there a brand new model, created exclusively for the Chinese market. Called DS 4S is a premium hatchback, which features high-end technology and splendid refinement.

    Being great compact car, DS 4S is definitely strengthening the positions of DS Automobiles. It is dynamic and comfortable, and refined “to the bones”. The company even says that it is one of the hallmarks of the DS brand.

    The particular model shown in China is painted in the stunning Dark Fire red, but there are exactly 6 body colors which will be offered for the DS 4S, including Silver Grey, Pearl White, Hickory Brown, Black Perla and Whisper.

    The model also expresses DS Automobiles’ identity with its ‘DS Wings’ grille and DS LED Vision headlights. At launch, the DS 4S will be equipped with the latest-generation EAT6 automatic gearbox mated to one of three petrol engines ranging from 136hp to 204hp. One of the units is the PureTech engine, voted as a ‘2015 International Engine of the Year’.

    Interior refinements include high-quality upholstery in great red leather finish, dashboard and door panels covered in high-grade leather, seats in ‘watchstrap-style’ upholstery, and DS CONNECT technology. The latter includes navigation, safety and communication functions.

    DS 4S will be offered on the market in five trim levels: Comfort, Fashion, Luxury, Luxury Technology and Prestige. It will complete the DS range currently available in China, which includes DS 5 hatchback, DS 5 LS three-box saloon and DS 6 SUV.

    Bold design and aggressive appearance

    DS E-TENSE catches the eye with its one-of-a-kind style, elegant lines and sense of massiveness. The silhouette of grand tourer coupe is further enhancd by central chrome-plated spine and cool green color. This avant-garde design is similar to the Divine DS, as the rear widescreen is moved backwards, which gives extra space for adding more components and tweaking more feature.

    Also, as an already trademark of DC, the front and rear lights proudly show their jewel-like design with DS LED Vision components. Also, the daytime running lights are picked out as if in beaded stitching.     DS equipped their last creation with a 100% electric power unit that produces a total of 402hp (295kW) and 516Nm of torque. This means that the E-TENSE accelerates from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) for only 4.5 seconds and can cover a range of 360 kilometers with a single engine charge. The two-wheel drive system, along with the carbon monocoque chassis also contribute to achieving the top speed of 250 km/h and their lightweight design also means that the vehicle is flexible and responsive.

    DS 3 and DS 3 CabrioDS Automobiles announces details for DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio models. Also, both vehicles are available for order, despite the official “on sale” date is set for 5th of February. Furthermore, the brand confirms and the additional Performance Black editions that can already be preordered.

    Known for its distinctive style and wide personalization options, the DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio will now be offered in three core trim levels: Chic, Elegance and Prestige. Also confirmed today is that the Ultra Prestige and Performance models will be joined by Performance Black versions and will feature black matt exterior finish, gold highlights and numerous more goodies.

  • DS 3 Dark Light Limited Edition Mixes Day and Night

    DS 3 Dark Light Limited Edition Front ViewDS 3 Dark Light Limited Edition is not a HIM-dedicated vehicle. If you are fan of the band, then you should know what I am talking about. For those who aren’t familiar, HIM are a very cool band from Finland, dedicatedly playing the so called “love metal” for more than 24 years. They became extremely popular in the US with their fifth album, called ‘Dark Light’, and are also best friends with the professional skateboarder Bam Margera. Being also an MTV Jackass star, he was the person who made the ‘Heartagram’ symbol popular, which by the way is originally HIM’s logo.

    Enough off-topic. The here-presented limited edition of DS 3 will be produced in only 300 examples. It will be strictly distributed only in the UK.

The car is painted in Perla Nera Black metallic, but features one-off clear-backed metallic vinyl wrap along each side.     This particular limited edition DS 3 is based on the DStyle Nav trim level. This means that it features eMyWay satellite navigation as standard.   • DS Unveiled Season Two Livery

    DS Virgin team has showed the latest livery design that Sam Bird and Jean-Eric Vergne will showcase at the final pre-season testing dates on 24 and 25 August 2015 at Donington Park. Ahead of the first race of the second FIA Formula E season, DS are showing some style, determination and will for victory. So, let’s check out what is going here.

    Blending DS and Virgin brand elements, the idea demonstrates nice pattern of both DS and Virgin color schemes. Furthermore, the well-known and distinctive red and chrome elements, along with the DS brand logo from the first season are also included. And just as the previous time, the vehicle will remain with the purple battery cover.

    And, As the inaugural season of Formula E, both the DS vehicles will be named after Holly and Bellue Branson, featuring the “flying lady” graphic as usually used across Virgin’s technological projects.

    And to celebrate the latest addition to the family, DS Virgin Racing released a video, filmed at Donington Park circut. It features Sam Bird and tells the story of how the vehicle has changed since the last season.
