2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept finally revealed [VIDEO]

2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept is the new dramatic concept car from Nissan and its world premiere is at 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Hi-Cross is a concept crossover which looks like a possible expansion of the current Juke-Qashqai-Murano portfolio. The vehicle is compact yet roomy, elegant yet purposeful. Hi-Cross Concept has a highly space efficient interior with three rows of seats for seven passengers. Its hybrid drive train includes an electric motor – powered by a Nissan-developed compact lithium-ion battery – in combination with a 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine. Both provide the performance potential of a 2.5-litre with the economy and emissions expected from a much smaller unit. The HEV drivetrain is based on new technology developed by Nissan for front-wheel drive models. However, it was modified to provide four-wheel drive. Nissan’s new generation XTRONIC system is also included and it delivers continuously variable transmission which by itself achieves a 10 per cent improvement in fuel economy over comparable previous generation CVTs. The battery technology has high output, fast-charging compact lithium-ion battery, linked to high-level motor control technology. It provides acceleration assist when needed and permits downsizing of the petrol engine for optimum economy and emissions. In city driving, for instance, the presence of the electric motor and lithium-ion battery allow the engine to be turned off frequently. It can also be disengaged completely with the clutch, and energy can be recovered effectively when braking.

Furthermore, 2012 Nissan Hi-Cross Concept sits on a 2780mm wheelbase. It is 4660mm long, 1850mm wide and 1670mm tall, with 21-inch alloy wheels. The front has a characteristic V-shaped grille set off by distinctive lighting signatures provided by stylish new headlamps. At the rear it has distinctive lighting signatures provided by stylish rear combination lamps echoing with headlamp lighting signature. Inside, the seven-seat cockpit is dominated by a new T-wing shaped dashboard. This is a pure concept car, which explores the potential ideas for the future. It is a high-riding crossover, therefore no wonder where the name came from.

2013 Acura RDX Crossover SUV – Pricing

The all-new 2013 Acura RDX Crossover SUV will be launched for sale in dealerships in th beginning of the Spring with a starting price (MSRP) at $34 320. The new 2013 RDX adds enhanced comfort, utility and power, along with class-leading fuel economy. Mazda CX-5 Crossover SUV launched in Japan

Mazda Motor Corporation has just announced the launch of the all-new Mazda CX-5 Crossover SUV in all dealerships in Japan. The CX-5 is going to become a core model in the Mazda lineup. In addition, the all-new CX-5 is the first model to adopt Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. It will also include gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, body and chassis, offering a predictable and refined driving experience combined with great fuel economy. A lot of attention is put on design, dynamic performance, functionality, environmental and safety performance, thus way providing predictable and responsive driving experience.

To go further into details, the all-new CX-5 has a line-up of two new-generation engines. The first one is the model equipped with Mazda’s SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel engine. It meets Japan’s Post New Long-Term Emissions Regulations without an expensive NOx after-treatment device, while at the same time delivering fuel economy of 18.6km/l, and maximum torque of 420Nm (400 lb-ft). The second model, the SKYACTIV-G 2.0L one is equipped with the highly-efficient direct injection gasoline engine, and includes Mazda’s 4-2-1 exhaust system. It delivers great fuel economy of 16.0 km/l.

In addition, Mazda CX-5 features the new design theme, which goes under the slogan KODO – SOUL of MOTION. The exterior design features bold styling that simultaneously expresses SUV-like solidity and functionality with finely-honed vitality and dynamism typical of Mazda. Furthermore, it expresses strength and depth adopting Mazda’s signature wing, seen in the new-generation Mazda design. The side view features the prominent front fenders and the sculptured body sides accentuate a sense of power. While the exterior is sporty and bold, the interior is an inviting space that makes one want to drive it the moment one sees it. For the interior, Mazda’s goal was to make an enjoyable space that is comfortable for everyone in the vehicle in any situation. There are featured 40:20:40 split fold-down seat backs and karakuri folding configuration means that even when carrying long objects, two adults can sit comfortably in the rear seats. This functionality is offered as a standard feature for the XD L Package, the XD and the 20S grades. Other standard features include: door pockets with bottle holder to carry a one-liter bottle, and a function to display in the rearview mirror images from the side monitor, and reverse guiding monitor to aid parking. Next, the new Mazda CX-5 utilizes Mazda’s SKYACTIV-BODY light weight, highly rigid body and all model grades come with curtain and front side airbags, Dynamic Stability Control system and Traction Control System as standard safety equipment Smart City Brake Support (SCBS).

2012 SsangYong Korando LE – Price £17 995

SsangYong is launching a limited edition of its recently introduced Korando crossover and it is named 2012 SsangYong Korando LE. What is new here is that it sits on special 18 inch alloy wheels. In addition it has a rear spoiler and privacy glass; it also includes many luxury touches in the interior, for example: heated front seats, leather covered steering wheel and gear shift. There is also cruise control and rear parking sensors which will bring even more safety and convenience to the customers. This version of the vehicle was styled by Italian car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design. More importantly, it has a price which starts from just £17 995.

Furthermore the Korando LE is available in three distinctive colours: Grand White (which comes as a standard), metallic Vitamin Red or Space Black. The crossover is powered by an advanced 173bhp (127 kW) 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo diesel engine, which produces the incredible 360Nm (266 lb.-ft.) of torque. The CO2 emissions here go 157g/km. The customer can chose between a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. In addition, buyers can opt for S or ES trim in their front wheel drive Korando or top of the range EX specification in four wheel drive models. What you’ll love about this vehicle is that it comes entirely equipped with cruise control, ESP with Hill Start Assist and reverse parking sensors as standard. On the other hand the ES comes with a sunroof, climate control, leather upholstery and heated front and rear seats, so that all the needs of the driver and the passenger can be met.

2013 Encore Crossover to Join Buick

Today is a big day for all Buick fans! If you wonder why and you still haven’t heard the news, well it is the confirmation of Buick of the introduction of the 2013 Encore. The debut of the all-new, five-passenger crossover will take place at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The vehicle named Encore joins the growing family of Buick, which has recently has expanded with the additions of the Verano compact luxury sedan, the Regal GS sport sedan, and fuel-efficient eAssist “light electrification” technology on both LaCrosse and Regal.

Concerning the details we have about the all-new 2013 Encore, there just a few shared. All we know for now is that the vehicle will offer contemporary styling, signature QuietTuning technology, and a lot of exciting features. If you want to have additional information, you will have to wait till the 10^th of January when Encore will be revealed.

2011 Nissan Juke is now on sale it the USA priced at $18 960

Mitsubishi to debut ASX Compact Crossover at Geneva 2010

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will premiere its ASX all-new compact crossover from Tuesday March 2, 2010 to Sunday March 14, 2010 at the 80th Geneva International Motor Show held at the Geneva Palexpo in Switzerland.

The ASX is the European-spec version of the Japanese RVR, which is slated to go on sale in Japan from February 2010. MMC’s new compact crossover will seat 5 and will be sequentially introduced in European countries from late spring 2010, aimed at expanding MMC’s passenger car footprint in the region, following in the footsteps of the larger and recently redesigned Outlander mid-size crossover. European showcase of new Mazda CX-7 at Frankfurt Motor Show
