2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 has an interior that honors truth in materials. Here, every detail of every surface is made to serve the driver. The new teaser video shows a glimpse of what the new C7 would feel and look like inside.
Of course nothing else but only premium materials were used. The aim however, was to bring about unique experience for the driver and occupants, given that they spend most of the time in the cabin. No matter how great might the exterior look, the interior is where the true emotions are felt and left.
The rethought, redesigned and reengineered Chevy will make an official debut on January thirteen. The place is Detroit an in addition, it is rumored that the new Corvette is going to draw power from a small-block V-8 engine downsized to 5.5-liters. No further details were disclosed.
Originally Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 generates 647 horsepower (476 kW). This mighty result is due to its 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine. The torque number here is 818 Nm (604 lb-ft). Matched to the six-speed manual gearbox, this emblematic Chevrolet model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.4 seconds on its way to the top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).
However, these impressive numbers weren’t enough for the tuners from Lingenfelter. They wanted more from this ZR1, so they decided to make a comprehensive ZR1 Package, which will boost Chevy’s power even more.
Due to it the car now generates the impressive number of 750 horsepower (552 kW)! The torque here is 989 Nm (730 lb-ft). This package includes the addition of GT9 ZR1 supercharger camshaft and Lingenfelter CNC ported LS9 cylinder heads.
And although it adds additional power it still maintains a safe level of boost and supercharger RPM. The GT9 camshaft has an excellent sound quality and will not degrade the vehicles drivability or reliability.
And to go even further into details, this unique package includes the following: Lingenfelter CNC porting and polishing of LS9 cylinder heads for optimal flow, Lingenfelter multi-angle valve job, cc chambers, surfacing and spring height adjustment, Competition Cams valve springs, LS9 retainers and locks, and Lingenfelter GT9 camshaft by Competition Cams.
In addition there is also featured GM Head gaskets and head studs, 160 degree thermostat, Lingenfelter cast aluminum supercharger front cover assembly, 2.38 inch diameter steel supercharger 10 bolt drive pulley – powder coated black – 11 rib, 100 mm aluminum double bearing idler assembly, Lingenfelter LS9 solid supercharger isolator coupling, Lingenfelter ZR1 air intake system, increased boost level 12 – 13 psi.
Another great video has been released by Dragtimesinfo. This time the mighty 599 GTO Fiorano meets two tuned beasts – GTR Mk2 Ecutek Stage 2 with 670HP and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Lingenfelter with 730HP.
The 599 GTO Fiorano is powered by a naturally aspirated all-aluminum 6.0 liter V12 with 670HP (493 kW) at 8250RPM and 620 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque at 6500RPM. 0-100 km/h in 3.35 seconds and a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph). The overall weight is 1 605 kg (3 540 lbs), which is almost 100 kg (220 lbs) less than the standard GTB.
In the first start, the GTO meets the GT-R. The Ferrari is doomed, because of the rainy surface. The GT-R ran ¼ mile in just 11.606 seconds with 210 km/h and crossed the finish line with 300 km/h for just 28.156 seconds.
The battle against the ZR1 was much more interesting, because both cars are RWD. Still, the Corvette manage to beat the 599 crossing the finish line with 309 km/h with time of 29.356 seconds.
Chevrolet has announced the 2013 Corvette ZR1, which will take place at the Indianapolis 500. The competition will start Sunday, May 27 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The race car is designed to celebrate the model’s 60th anniversary and final year of production.
Additional content includes a ZR1-style rear spoiler, special badging, gray-painted brake calipers and the “60th” logo on the wheel center caps, steering wheel and seat headrests. An optional graphics package adds full-length racing stripes in Pearl Silver Blue, including a tonal stripe stitched into the convertible top, extending the graphic theme over the roof.
“Corvette embodies pure performance, so the ZR1 is a perfect car to pace the most prestigious auto race in the world,” commented Jeff Belskus, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation president and chief executive officer.
“Chevrolet is a great partner of the Speedway, and we share in the excitement of the upcoming 60th anniversary of the iconic Corvette brand. It’s even more meaningful to see a Chevrolet pacing the field at Indy since Chevy has returned as an engine supplier for the IZOD IndyCar Series for the first time since 2005.”, he added.
Chevy Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 6.2 liter supercharged V8 with 647HP (476 kW) and 818Nm (604 lb-ft) of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). The overall weight of the car is just 1520 kg (3353 lbs.).
The ZR1 lapped the famed Nurburgring’ Nordschleife (“north loop”) in 7:19.63.
2012 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is a sports car legend which will go on sale for the first time in the history of the company in South Korea. This will happen very soon – this Friday.
There are a lot of expectations brought up to this initiative due to the almost 60 years of history of the model. It now comes equipped with many advancements in terms of technology and design, which will now be available at the disposal of the Korean people.
In fact, through the years this unique Chevrolet sports vehicle has made a permanent niche into the global automotive landscape. Further proof for this is that it is the top-selling high-performance sports car in its segment. In addition to this, the advancements in performance and technology will put Corvette much higher.
In details, it draws its power from a standard 430 horsepower (317 kW) LS3 all-aluminum V8 engine. This one is able to deliver 190 mph performance and more importantly 26 MPG highway fuel efficiency.
Furthermore, the model Corvette is the one which defines state-of-the-art technology, engineering and design mixed with luxury and sports attitude. The 2012 version adds to this even further by offering more options for personalization.
This legendary American sports car is to go on sale tomorrow in South Korea. This exceptional product will be one of-a-kind for the Korean market and undoubtedly will be unmatched as well. 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe will raise the bar for the brand and its products.
Here is a short list of some of the most collectible cars from the present, which in my opinion, are going to cost even more amount of money in the near or distant future. They are unique in several aspects, including style, speed, expense and produced examples of their particular model. Such cars are driven for prestige and are considered as a symbol for high status.
Let’s start with Dodge Viper, which undeniably is one of the most famous cars ever produced. Its production started back in 1992 and continues till now. The vehicle has 6 speed manual transmission which allows the person behind the wheel to experience the excitement of driving. Moreover it is usually equipped with very powerful engine which produces a pleasant roaring sound and in some versions achieves the whole 600 hp (442 kW). Therefore, if you seat behind the steering wheel with the aim to achieve the top speed, then you’ll get up to 202 mph (325 km/h). Undoubtedly, this model is an emblematic one for the American automotive history and I am sure that one day models will cost a lot.
2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X
Next comes the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which production started in the near past – in 2009 and since then it is still being produced. Although it has a short history, it is the most powerful Corvette ever made. It includes six speed manual transmission, but unlike the previous discussed vehicle, it can produce the astonishing 638 hp (470 kW) at 6,500 rpm of torque. The top speed here is 205 mph (325 km/h)! It definitely deserves the investment, because it is going to be one of the most desirable collectables in the future.

Here comes the luxury Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren without which the sport car industry wouldn’t be the same. Its production began in the 2003 and lasted till 2010. Unlike the Corvette and the Viper, it has five speed automatic gearbox. Here the Mercedes achieves the 617 hp (454 kW) at 6,500 rpm, but its maximum speed is higher than Corvettes. This vehicle can reach up to 208 mph (335 km/h). And the price as well is far grater than the ZR1’s. The last one costs around $100 000. The Mercedes however, is estimated around $ 450 000. What is so typical and emblematic about this model, are its unmistakable gullwing doors.

There is a real rarity present to our attention – the two door coupe named Lamborghini Reventón, which production lasted just one year (from 2008 till 2009). What makes this car so special and priceless is that you can’t see it on the streets very often. And this isn’t due to its high price (which by the way is estimated around $1.6 million dollars), but due to the fact that there is only twenty of it produced! This beauty, has a six speed manual or six-speed paddle shift transmission, and as you expect its engine is a powerful V12 6,5 liter one. Hence, it produces the astonishing 650 hp (478 kW) at 8,000 rpm of torque. The top speed is exactly 211 mph (340 km/h).
Lamborghini Reventón
Without a doubt a collectible one is Bugatti Veyron, for anyone who can afford it of course. It costs around 1,7 million dollars and since 2005, when it production started, is one of the most appealing cars to the famous people. Its acceleration, which for only 2.5 seconds goes from 0 to 100 km/h, is due to the unbelievable 1001 hp (736 kW) at 6,000 rpm! And not to forget the maximum speed of 268 mph (431 km/h) which makes the car one of the fastest cars in the world! But wait this is not all! The new hyper car model, which is going to make its debut in 2013, will be also powered by the famous 8.0 liter W16 quad-turbo engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Moreover, it is expected to achieve more than 1200 hp (895 kW)! This makes it a real collectable car even before its official release, isn’t it!
The fastest Corvette convertible – the first 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition was sold on Saturday for the amount of $600,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale. The model is going to be at dealerships in the U.S. this summer, and is designed to blend the elements of the Z06 and ZR1 models. In this auction was sold the car with The Vehicle Identification Number ending in 001. In details, it has the 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) LS7 engine taken from the Corvette Z06. More importantly this is the most powerful engine ever installed in a production Corvette convertible, with the astonishing 505 horsepower (377 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. of torque (637 Nm). On the other hand, like the Z06, the model is only available with a six-speed manual transmission, which puts an emphasis on the joy of driving.
2013 Corvette 427 Convertible at Barrett-Jackson
It is interesting information that the Corvettes made between 1966 and 1969, powered by the 427-cubic-inch are some of the most-coveted and collectable ones ever produced. In this auction, Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports have collaborated with four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jeff Gordon and team owner Rick Hendrick, to raise a total of $700,000 for the AARP’s Drive to End Hunger food relief program. This special cause, called Drive to End Hunger is part of a multi-year sponsorship for Gordon’s No. 24 Chevrolet. The aim is to raise money and build awareness on the Americans who face the threat of hunger. It calls on racing fans, corporations and charitable organizations to actively participate in the cause.
Chevrolet have announced that a 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition will make it’s debut on January the 21st and will go on sale this summer. This is big news for we are talking about the first Chevy ever, that can be both a collector and a commemorative edition at the same time Yes, Chevrolet are celebrating their 60th birthday this year and what better way to mark the occasion than producing a convertible, more powerful than the gravity of Jupiter.
Under the hood one can find an LS7, 7.0 liter (427 cubic-inches) engine, rated at 505 horsepower (377 kW) which sends 470 lb.-ft. of torque (637 Nm) trough a compulsory 6-speed manual. The connecting rods in the LS7 are all titanium and so are the intake valves while high-flow cylinder heads and a dry-sump oil pump add to the performance. The 427 is rear-wheel driven just like the Z06, the battery is at the back for better weight distribution and it comes with a Magnetic Selective Ride Control so the suspension is clever too. The front 19-inch and back 20-inch machine-face Cup wheels (ZR1 Black Cup or chromed also available) are fitted with ZR1 Michelin PS2 tires. To save weight, the hood, fenders and floor panels are all made from carbon fiber. That diet has resulted in the Corvette weighing only 3,355 pounds (1,522 kg) which by itself means a power-to-weight ratio of 6.64 – or one horsepower for every 6.64 pounds of vehicle mass. That’s more power than any other convertible can offer including the Ferrari California Convertible, the Audi R8 5.2 RSI Spyder, the Aston Martin DBS Volante Convertible and even the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet. Predictions suggest a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of just 3.8 second and top speeds exceeding 190 mph.
Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition (2013)
For the commemorative spec on any Chevrolet, one does need to opt for the 60th Anniversary Package which includes a color theme of “Arctic White” on the outside with Blue Diamond leather seats inside and gray-painted brake calipers. Convertibles will also get a blue rooftop. Other enhancements include a ZR1 rear spoiler, a “CFZ” carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panels and branding on various places to let you know you are driving a novelty. If one feels the need to spend even more money a graphics package includes racing stripes that slice trough the whole car while a Build Experience option allows customer participation in the construction process of the vehicle… which, doesn’t make any sense if the customer is as inapt as me when it comes to technology.

Driving, action and having fun – the Torpedo Run is a horsepower-orgy Standing in the light of sports cars and luxury limousines, Torpedo Run – a horsepower-party – combines driving, action and having fun altogether! This is happening for the 7th time and this time the goal is to promote it on daily events, while in the evening, exquisite gourmet pleasures pleased the sense of taste.
To be more precise the automobile party included participants from all over Europe. It lasted three days and led from Bad Ragaz in Switzerland, through the towns of Kitzbühel and Velden in Austria, till the Mediterranean Coast in Slovenia. What is to be highlighted is that this year’s program offered a new race-track with Formula 1 license, fast bobsled runs and an adventurous off-road excursion in steep mountains!
TORPEDO RUN
In these three days there could be seen enormous power and a pure sound party at the Torpedo Run 2011. For instance, you could see rare sports cars and exotics like Wiesmann MF 5 Roadster, Corvette ZR1, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Lexus IS-F or an almost 600 hp/441 kW strong Mustang GT in muscle car design. Moreover, there were Porsches and compact sports cars such as BMW 1 Series M Coupé or Lotus Elise.
All these beauties were driven almost everywhere on this perfect occasion. In addition, the Torpedo Runners enjoyed a lot of nice corners and impressive landscapes with stunningly beautiful sights. The specific roads in the Alps made the Torpedo Run even more exciting and gave pure pleasure to the drivers!
Of course, there was a special arena – The new Red-Bull-Ring, where the Torpedo Runners were speeding on the new Red-Bull-Ring. This Ring is actually the Austria Ring or A1 Ring Red Bull, but more modernized and improved! Thank to it one could hear the sound of the engines and feel their power, while driving skillfully through the fast downhill corners.
TORPEDO RUN
A lot of adrenalin got produced these three days: the Torpedo Runners drove down a mountain in a 3535 meters long roller coaster with steep turns and “jumps” with descents of up to 6 meters! Even more, they experienced the legendary Olympic bobsleigh run of Innsbruck. With around 100 kph, the teams sped down the 14 corners on the 1270 meters long run!
On the other hand the Torpedo Runners switched cars to off-road cars! They enjoyed “off-roading” a mountain in the Alps. The route wasn’t a light one and led over a bumpy and narrow gravel road with tight corners, which have been built into the sheer mountain inclination. This is one of the most difficult itineraries in the Alps; however the Torpedo Runners performed their best!
The Torpedo Run 2011 was definitely great fun for all of the participants. It was mentioned as one of the most exciting and exclusive events of the year. The result is that all of the participants are eagerly looking forward to the next Torpedo Run 2012! The great news is that everyone can join it, but hurry up because the reservations have already started at www.torpedorun.com! The next 2012 Torpedo Run will take place on an extended weekend in September.
Chevrolet has announced the new Corvette Stingray Concept, which will hit the market in 2013 as a 2014 model.
The truth is that the current model is not so popular among the customers – a total of 9 123 units were sold last year. The latter, by the way, have been the lowest in the last 4 decades of the legend’s production.
The C7 will be lighter and more compact than the C6. Another innovation will be a 7-speed manual gearbox, which was recently introduced by Porsche. There are also rumors of direct injection and variable valve timing on the new V8 engine. This is really a precedent in GMs history, because they have been always counting on simple, big and powerful engines.
What seems sure at this point, though, is that the C7 will come off the production lines in the Bowling Green Assembly plant in Kentucky where the current-generation Corvette is produced.
Chevrolet has released full information about the staggering 2012 Corvette Centennial Edition.
“We constantly strive to make the Corvette a better car on the road and the track,” commented Tadge Juechter, Corvette vehicle line director and chief engineer.
“For 2012, the Corvette lineup achieves its highest performance, while at the same time being easier to drive and enjoy thanks to several changes and new features inside the car.”, Tadge Juechter added.
The manufacturer can fit the new 2012 Vette with optional Michelin PilotSport Cup Zero Pressure tires available for the most powerful models – the lightweight, 505PS (377 kW) Z06 and the maximum-performance, 638PS (476 kW) supercharged ZR1. The vehicles also have Performance Traction Management (PTM) technology, which delivers an 8-percent gain in maximum lateral acceleration, to more than 1.1G. The tires are included in the optional Z07 performance package on the Corvette Z06 and a new PDE performance package on the ZR1. The dimensions are 285/30 ZR19 at the front and 335/25 ZR20 at the rear. They are fitted to the all-new aluminum Cup-style wheels in satin black or machined finishes.
Another interesting feature for improved aerodynamics is the full-width racing-style spoiler, which also come with the 2012 Z07 and PDE packages. The Z06 model will now offer Magnetic Selective Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension technology. The Brembo carbon ceramic brakes will be a part of the Z07 chassis package and standard on ZR1. Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires remain standard on the ZR1.
Finally, a carbon fiber hood will be an available option on 2012 Z06 models.
Inside, all 2012 Vettes will come with a new seat design and a new steering wheel. Microfiber suede seat inserts are optional and improve tactile feel, as well as add additional support.
The audio system is from Bose and includes 9 speakers. A new Technology Package (2LT trim level) brings together many of the Corvette’s popular infotainment features and makes them available for more models. The package’s equipment includes the navigation radio, head-up display, Bose premium audio system, Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity and a USB port.
With all new features, the customers will be able to create a unique 2012 Corvette, which will bring them a lot of joy both on public roads as well as the race tracks.
