  • Citroen DS3 Dark Rose Limited Edition To Be Launched By Alfred Hitchcock

Citroen-DS3-Dark-Rose-Limited-Edition-THUMBCitroen DS3 Dark Rose Limited Edition is a very special vehicle. The reason for this hides not only in its outstanding design characteristics, but also in the fact that it will be launched by the master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock.

The Dark Rose will be produced in only 350 units and will be available in both on the DS3 and DS3 Cabrio. The customized model will sport two-tone Perla Nera black and Shark grey body paint finish, while having a contrasting fuchsia pink roof and wing mirror housings. The cabrio version will get a black canvas roof.

A lot of individual touches are also featured: gradated pink effect on the front and rear wings, side mouldings with DS graphics featuring a Dark Rose logo, and a fuchsia “3” in the DS3 emblem on the tailgate.

Inside, one can see the same uniqueness of the design. For example, the steering wheel and door sills are graced with a Dark Rose logo, the central console includes a pink-surrounded DS logo, and the Nappa leather headrests feature fuchsia overstitching.

And on the top of this, Alfred Hitchcock will make the DS3 Dark Rose limited edition advertising film, which we are already impatient to see. In fact, this is the second time Citroen called on the director to be a “face” of the brand. Back in 2011 he launched the DS3 Série Noire campaign.

The new film will represent the opening sequence of the famous Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV show that ran from 1955 to 1965 in the USA. In it, the legend will talk and sing about the “vie en rose” inspired by the DS3 Dark Rose limited edition.

Citroen DS3 Dark Rose Limited Edition has a starting price of €20,250.

  • Citroen C1 Swiss & Me Concept Car To Debut In Geneva

Citroen-C1-Swiss-Me-Concept-Car-THUMBIn the beginning of the week Citroen introduced the new 2014 C1 which was described as the “A Perfect Car for City Driving”. It was also announced that the model will be unveiled in Geneva. Now, the brand is also disclosing that it will reveal also at the show a C1 based Swiss & Me concept.

The new model adopts a playful approach to the constraints of city driving. A bi-tone effect blends a red roof (featuring the Swiss flag), and a pearl white body. Splashes of red can be seen on the red wing mirrors, and they additionally complement the exterior styling of the C1 Swiss & Me concept.

Furthermore, the car also highlights the on-road performance of the 2014 Citroen C1, thanks to its wing extensions, large wheels and a central tailpipe. More information is set to be disclosed around the official debut.

  • 2014 Citroen C1 – A Perfect Car for City Driving

Citroen has unveiled the all-new 2014 C1, which will make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, next week. It is described as “A Perfect Car for City Driving” thanks to its agility and compact dimensions.

2014 Citroen C1 is just 3.46 meters long, 1.62 meters wide and has a 4.8 meters turning circle. This makes it extremely useful and easy to drive in city. The new C1 looks a lot different than its predecessor with a striking front fascia, interesting headlight configuration and overall more premium appearance. The new model will be offered in 3-, 5-door and open-top variants.

The interior of the New Citroen C1 is bright and airy with a colourful ambience. Designed with clean, structured lines, the dashboard features bright colours on the multimedia panel, air vent trim and gear lever base. The door panels also include body-coloured inserts. There is a 7” touchscreen display with Mirror Screen technology, a reversing camera, hill-start assist and hands-free entry & drive.

  • Citroen Roll Out The C4 Cactus

Citroen-C4-Cactus-shadowCitroen-C4-Cactus-mediumThis is the completely real (as in “production”) Citroen C4 Cactus here to rock your world.  Now, we know you might be thinking, “Production you say? Then what are those designy thingies on it?”

Ah, you see, that’s the Cactus’ thermoplastic polyurethane shell (TPU). Well, here’s a more rustic name for it: Airbump® – it’s supposed to do away with dents and scratches in real life. Found on the front and rear bumpers and the sides, the Airbump® provides a type of buffer zone which protects the actual body. We guess “bubble wrap” was already taken, huh?

So we have cushions on the outside, a mind-bending array of driving aids – park assist, a reversing camera, hill-start assist, to name a few – have they lost all confidence in the human proneness to accidents…oh.

Yes, “clever” is the word of the day. The C4 is sleek and slippery, it’s spacious, comfortable and very high-tech….for a cactus. Who needs dials and needles nowadays when there’s an app for that? A 7-inch touchscreen conjures up any cluster you might fancy – from the air conditioning controls to the yellow pages index. Face it, we’ve all felt the need to order Chinese whilst behind the wheel. Feel free to order as much as you want too. See, despite being arguably small (4.16 m long; 1.73 m wide) the Cactus is till a C-class vehicle. Ergo, you still get a 358 liter boot. A UV-protective panoramic roof amplifies the sense of space even more.

If you go for the optional Efficient Tronic Gearbox (ETG) you also lose the stick. Instead, there’s this selection system that Citroen is trying to push on us called the Easy Push. Yeah, we made the lamest pun ever.

And no, the Cactus doesn’t have an iPhone for an engine, but there is no fusion reactor to be found either? More like a 110bhp turbo three-cylinder petrol at best. But that’s ok because the whole thing weighs no more than a 1000 kg thanks to a heavy aluminum diet. It shouldn’t be too sluggish is what we mean. And with the Stop/Start system as standard, the Cacti (plural) fuel economy and emission values are rated at around 91.1 mpg and less than 100 g/km of CO2 – cleanliness truly is next to godliness.

  • Citroen’s DS Family Gets The 5LS in China

Citroen-DS-5LS-shadowCitroen-DS-5LS-mediumCitroen‘s DS line grows. Today, the 5LS joins the family – it’s a luxurious executive saloon that’s going to go on sale in March 2014 exclusively in China.

Although it has been now officially, “unveiled” we don’t really know much about it. It’s big, that’s for sure. Boasting a length of 4.70 m, the 5LS is supposed to have the longest wheelbase in its class (2.71 m). It’s wide too. At 1.84 m distance between the fenders, there’s plenty of space for a 1955 throwback front grille. It’s not all about the history though. Stylish boomerang-shaped Daytime Running Lights and 3D rear LED lights reassuringly state that the 5LS is firmly planted in the present and looking straight ahead.

Most of the remaining information concerns the insides – metal, wood and leather all fuse together to create an environment of utmost luxury and class. Apparently, “watch strap” seat design is the signature move of the DS line. For the ideal comfort of the rear passengers, the backrest is at an angle of exactly 29 degrees. Things get even more bourgeoisie when we consider the air ioniser inside the cabin.

Chauffeurs (why would anyone buy the 5LS and drive it himself?) should rejoice as well. The DS features a clever stereo system, massaging front seats, keyless entry and start, blind spot monitoring, front and back parking sensors and a reversing camera.

The oily bits are the ones that has suffered the most glossing over. All we know is that, for the time being, there will be two engines available; the THP 160 and the THP 200. Both engines feature sequential direct injection, a high-pressure pump, and Twin Scroll turbo compressors. A 6-speed automatic gearbox will channel their power to the wheels.Citroen-DS-5LS-medium-2

  • Citroen Introduces DS3 Cabrio Racing Limited Edition

Citroen-DS3-Cabrio-Racing-Limited-Edition-THUMBCitroen DS3 Cabrio Racing debuted first as a concept vehicle this July at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed and at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now the cabrio is ready for production in the form of limited edition model. Numbered models will be available to order in January 2014.

DS3 Cabrio Racing is based on the concept vehicle and offers all of the characteristics of Citroen DS3 Racing with the pleasure of open-top driving provided by. The car also boasts responsive, agile handling as well as stunning visual credentials, ultra-customisation and athleticism.

Furthermore, the model can also show-off with some Racing attributes such as the chrome-finish, twin exhaust pipes and the genuine carbon finish found on the air diffuser, a semi-rigid splitter in the front bumper, wraparound body stills, wing flares and more.

Another exclusive highlight here is that the Cabrio Racing has an inspiring new body colour – matte Moondark grey. It is combined with a black roof and gloss black 18-inch Nemesis wheel rims. On the other hand, for the wheel centres along with the DS logo, on the doors in a wide side strip is utilized the Carmin red paint which is pecific to the DS line.

Inside, the car has also received specific treatment. Matt-finish Moondust Grey bodywork colour is used on the upper dash and on several interior trim items such as the central console of the instrument panel.

A carbon fiber effect was given to the steering wheel inserts and the fascia panel cap. At last, the dashboard also features the Crimson Red colour which can be seen on the vertical strip on the door interiors.

Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing’s signature has been applied on the headrest of the front seats and on a numbered identification plaque located on the base of the gearshift lever. At the core of the heart “sleeps” a 1.6-litre engine which is responsible for the 207 horsepower (152 kW).
