    2021-Pikes-Peak-Continental-GT1

The first of a limited run of 15 examples of the Pikes Peak Continental GT by Mulliner has been built at Bentley’s carbon-neutral factory in Crewe, England.

The Limited Edition model features exclusive Radium by Mulliner paintwork, carbon fiber body kit, Acid Green brake disc calipers, and Pirelli P Zero Colour Edition Tyres. 35 percent of allocated vehicles also include the optional mountain decal, the same as the record-holding vehicle.  Detailing on the interior consists of an Alcantara interior complemented by distinctive Radium contrast stitching and accents, carbon-fiber fascias, and waist rails including a Pikes Peak Overlay on the passenger fascia, and exclusive B&O speaker covers in Black Anodised and Radium finish.

Peter Bosch, Member of the Board for Manufacturing, comments:
“Bentley has always built cars that are a magical combination of bespoke craftsmanship and everyday usability. With Mulliner, we have increased the boundaries of our production system through bespoke highly personalized products and small series limited editions.

“With collaborative and seamless integration into our state-of-the-art manufacturing operations, we deliver the exclusivity and bespoke customer individualization expected from a Mulliner product and at the same time adhere to Bentley’s highest quality and reliability standards.

I believe that a significant part of this success is due to the skilled and adaptable workforce based here at Crewe, responding to personal and small series commissions, a great example being the Continental GT Number 9 Edition, which debuted as part of Bentleys Centenary celebrations at Geneva Motorshow in 2019.”

Celebrating the record-breaking run of a standard Continental GT at the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb last year, where the production car record was bettered by eight seconds, the Pikes Peak Continental GT is a striking limited edition created by Bentley Mulliner as part of the division’s new ‘Collections’ portfolio.

With all 15 vehicles allocated, customer deliveries of this special iteration of the Continental GT are due to begin in September, destined across the globe from New Zealand to America. Each one honoring Bentley’s accomplishment at the most demanding hill climb in the world, where Bentley achieved the record for fastest production SUV in 2018 and production car in 2019.

The world’s finest Grand Tourer shaved an impressive 8.4 seconds off the previous record along the 12.42-mile course in Colorado, making it the fastest production car ever at Pikes Peak. Driven by three-time champion, former ‘King of the Mountain’ Rhys Millen, the W12-powered Continental GT climbed almost 5,000 ft through 156 bends in just 10 minutes, 18.4 seconds.

    A Striking Limited Edition
The new Limited Edition is distinguished by a carbon fiber body kit and eye-catching Radium by Mulliner paintwork, mirroring the color scheme used on the record-breaking car. Gloss black detailing has also been added to the front lower bumper inserts, roof panel, wing mirrors, and rear surfaces. Over a third of the vehicles allocated include the optional mountain decal to match the record-holding vehicle.

Acid Green brake disc calipers, Pirelli P Zero Colour Edition tires in Radium Finish, and a Pikes Peak decal to the front fender hint at the Limited Edition’s record-breaking lineage, while 22-inch Mulliner Driving Specification wheels in Gloss Black are standard. An optional ‘100’ grille is a reminder that the Continental GT’s impressive hill climb achievement took place in Bentley’s centenary year.

Inside the cabin, Alcantara with contrasting Radium thread stitching adorns much of the soft trim areas, matched with Beluga hide. The steering wheel features a honeycomb stitching design and a center stripe both in Radium, as per the Pikes Peak GT race car. Carbon fiber fascias and waistrails are complemented by a Piano Black center console, all adding to the sporting theme. The passenger-side fascia features a graphic showing a section of the Pikes Peak track, with five different graphics being used across the 15-car run, along with the record-setting time of 10:18.488.

Pikes Peak embroidery to the seat headrests in Radium stitching, Radium contrast binding on the over mats, Pikes Peak treadplates, and exclusive B&O speaker covers in Black Anodised and Radium finish further enhance the interior appeal. The Continental GT’s luxurious cabin includes the ground-breaking Bentley Rotating Display, deep pile overmats, and Front Seat Comfort Specification.

Like the Continental GT that broke the Pikes Peak record last year, this new model features the world’s most advanced 12-cylinder petrol engine in the twin-turbocharged Bentley W12. This mighty engine develops 626 bhp and 900 Nm of torque, effortlessly accelerating the Continental GT from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds), with a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph).

  • Aston Martin Vantage 007 Edition

    2021-Aston-Martin-Vantage-007-Edition1

Aston Martin is celebrating the release of the 25th James Bond film, with two exclusive 007 special editions inspired by the cars featured in No Time to Die. This new collaboration between Aston Martin and EON Productions, the company that produces the James Bond films with Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios, delivers exciting new 007 editions of the Aston Martin Vantage and DBS Superleggera.

No Time To Die will be released around the world in November 2020 and will feature no fewer than four iconic Aston Martin sports cars: the iconic DB5; the classic Aston Martin V8; the brand’s latest super GT, DBS Superleggera; and the exceptional Aston Martin Valhalla – the company’s forthcoming mid-engined hypercar.

The two special editions that celebrate the release of No Time To Die, each of which is being offered in limited numbers to buyers around the world from today, have been carefully designed and crafted by the experts in Aston Martin’s bespoke division: Q by Aston Martin. Aspiring to offer the ultimate in bespoke personalization services, Q by Aston Martin delivers both carefully curated special editions such as these, as well as the opportunity for individual owners to embark on the creation of utterly individual sports cars via the Q by Aston Martin – Commission service.

    2021-Aston-Martin-Vantage-007-Edition2

The first of the two models is the Vantage 007 Edition, inspired by the original Aston Martin V8 which made its 007 debuts in The Living Daylights in 1987 and also features in No Time to Die. The movie sees James Bond uncover the car from his personal lock-up in London.

Building on the formidable sporting style and aggressive performance of the regular Vantage, the new car features unique exterior styling treatments led by a bespoke mesh grille with a chrome bezel that references the look of the brand’s classic V8. Further styling details include a dashed yellow diffuser inspired by the hazard stripes on the film car’s rockets. The Vantage 007 Edition can even be delivered with a set of The Living Daylights inspired limited edition skis and ski rack – referencing the ‘winterized’ V8 saloon from the film.

The car will be delivered in authentic Cumberland Grey exterior paint color, whilst the interior will be presented in obsidian black leather and dark chrome with 007 brandings applied on the center console of cars equipped with a manual gearbox. The sun visors of all the cars will carry another subtle film reference in the shape of an embroidered radio station frequency – 96.60 (FM) – which 007 buffs will know was the Russian police frequency Bond used to aid his escape in The Living Daylights.

The seats themselves feature unique heritage fluting reminiscent of that seen in the V8, along with carbon fiber seatbacks and, in a particularly detailed nod to the 1980s film, the outline of the cello ‘f-holes’ inspired by the memorable cello chase scene featuring James Bond (Timothy Dalton) and Kara Milovy (Maryam D’Abo).

    2021-Aston-Martin-Vantage-007-Edition3

The driver can indulge themselves further with a laser-etched gadget plaque that references the various weapons and devices seen in the original film car. These included a rocket motor, missiles, lasers, a targeting display, and ski outriggers. Crosshairs etched onto the car’s paddle shift gear levers allude to the missile guidance system seen in the film, too. Available as a manual or automatic, the Vantage 007 Edition also boasts a side strake Vantage badge and is limited to 100 units globally.

Aston Martin Vice-President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, said: “Creating a 007 Edition is always an exciting challenge as we work to develop and style a car that embodies the legend of James Bond. It is an honor to apply carefully judged 007-inspired styling to our sports cars, which gives our customers the opportunity to own a unique piece of both cinematic and automotive history.”

To celebrate the James Bond debut of the range-topping Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, a second unique 007 Edition has been created.

Strictly limited to just 25 production cars available worldwide and featuring the same specification as the muscular DBS Superleggera featured in the upcoming film, the car has a suitably menacing road presence.

The 715bhp provided by the DBS Superleggera’s 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbocharged engine is befitting of the car’s range-topping status while its torque peak, at 900Nm, is not only substantial in its own right but, as things currently stand, the greatest torque figure for any roadgoing Aston Martin yet produced.

To this potent mix, the DBS Superleggera 007 Edition adds a raft of styling and design enhancements that further elevate its appeal. The car sports special Ceramic Grey exterior paint with the roof, mirror caps, splitter, diffuser, and rear Aeroblade IITM featured in black tinted carbon fiber. Also unique to the 007 Edition are visually striking Gloss Black diamond-turned Y-Spoke 21” wheels. This special edition also features a 007 fender badge, finished in chrome with black enamel infill, and Stainless Steel Silver 007 foil applied to the rear spoiler blade.

Inside, the cockpit of this DBS Superleggera is a dark, brooding, leather-clad environment with flashes of red detailing the outline of the seats. Subtle 007 brandings can be found on the door cards, armrest buckle badge, and on the rear sub-woofer cover. The car is finished with a sill plaque that recognizes it is one of just 25 DBS Superleggera 007 Editions.

The DBS Superleggera 007 Edition with a recommended retail price from RRP £279,025 and the Vantage 007 Edition with a recommended retail price from RRP £161,000 are on sale separately now. The first deliveries will begin in Q1 2021.

  • Ford GT Heritage Edition

    2021-Ford-GT-Heritage-Edition1

The Ford GT is America’s only Le Mans-winning supercar, and taking this pinnacle of Ford Performance even further for 2021, Ford is revealing two new enhancements today – the first-ever Heritage Edition inspired by the original model’s first endurance win at the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour Continental race, plus an all-new Studio Collection package offers even more exclusivity and design enhancements.

“For this Heritage Edition, the Ford Performance team went deeper into the Ford GT’s race history and crafted a limited-edition model that stylistically honors the 55th anniversary of the Daytona 24 Hour endurance race that would eventually lead to our successes at Le Mans,” said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager. “Plus, for customers who want to highlight the carbon-fiber body and functional cooling ducts that help deliver Le Mans-winning performance, the Ford GT Studio Collection offers another new way GT fans can personalize their supercars.”

The announcement of two new variants of the Ford GT were the highlights at the conclusion of 2020 Petersen Car Week, which started airing Wednesday on the museum’s YouTube channel. The virtual event featured 25 hours of original content from manufacturers and enthusiasts, along with automotive lifestyle and auction house activities.

First-ever Daytona-inspired Ford GT Heritage Edition
The latest Heritage Edition to join the storied Ford GT supercar family is a tribute to the winner of the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour Continental, where Ford achieved its first 24-hour endurance win, which is captured in the 2019 film “Ford v Ferrari” – or “Le Mans ’66,” as it is known in Europe.

Co-drivers Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby led a 1-2-3-5 Ford domination at Daytona, kicking off a magical season for the Ford GT40 MK II, with additional 1-2-3 wins at Sebring and Le Mans. This Heritage Edition is the first to feature a livery famous for a race other than Le Mans.

“Miles and Ruby led nearly every lap of the 24-hour race and outpaced the competition by 30 miles,” said Severson. “The win was the first time anyone had threatened Ferrari’s dominance in sports car racing and represented a turning point in the Ford GT race program.”

Inspired by the bold white, black, and red exterior of the 1966 endurance-winning Ford GT40 MK II race car, the new 2021 Ford GT Heritage Edition features Frozen White exterior paint with exposed carbon fiber hood adding stark contrast. Asymmetrical Race Red accents on the front fascia and roof edge, driver’s side door, and underneath the rear wing add distinct visuals, while exposed carbon fiber shapes the signature 98 roundel graphics and speak to the supercar’s lightweight body. Unique Ford graphics on the lower rear-quarter panels plus one-piece Heritage Gold 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels paired with red lacquered Brembo monoblock brake calipers complete this new exterior livery.

Inside, the lightweight driver-centric interior features unique appointments including black Alcantara® suede wrapping the instrument panel, headliner, and steering wheel rim, while anodized red paddle shifters and red Alcantara suede performance seats add dramatic contrast to the interior.

For customers looking for an even bolder look, an optional Heritage Upgrade Package includes 20-inch exposed carbon fiber wheels with a unique gloss red-painted inner accent barrel, while monoblock brake calipers are lacquered in black and detailed with Brembo lettering in red.

Inside, ghosted 98 roundels provide subtle contrast on both driver and passenger carbon fiber door panels of this package.

All-new Ford GT Studio Collection graphics package
Ford Performance also pulled the wraps off an exclusive series new to the supercar lineup, the Ford GT Studio Collection. This all-new graphics package with customizable colors highlights key styling elements, including the functional cooling ducts that help the 2021 Ford GT deliver all 660 horsepower during the most strenuous, high-temperature sessions at the track.

Its unique exterior graphics package was born of a design collaboration between Ford Performance and Ford GT manufacturer, Multimatic. It reflects the input of Garen Nicoghosian, Multimatic design head, who has worked on the Ford GT program since its genesis.

“The combination of the stripes and accents invokes the emotion of speed and draws your eye to some of the most prominent features of the GT,” said Nicoghosian. “The fuselage, buttresses, and signature features on the headlights provide visual anchors for the graphics, guiding your eye across the vehicle.”

Only 40 cars are slated to receive the Studio Collection package across the 2021 and 2022 model years. The body and graphics can be customized with seven standard colors or further personalized with an extended palette offering endless color combinations for even greater exclusivity.

Deliveries of the 2021 model year Ford GT begin in early 2021, with Ford GT production wrapping up in 2022.

  • Bugatti Divo

    2020-Bugatti-Divo

Highly customized, high-performance, and very exclusive. Since its world premiere in August 2018, the Bugatti Divo1 has been amongst the world’s most extraordinary hyper sports cars. Now the first of a total of only 40 Divo are being handed over to customers from the Atelier in the Alsatian town of Molsheim – at a net unit price of €5 million. This marks the end of a challenging development process lasting almost two years.

“The Divo marks a milestone in Bugatti’s history spanning over 110 years. The Divo will now enter our history books alongside the cutting-edge Veyron and Chiron2 hyper sports cars, Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti, says. “The Divo starts a new era at Bugatti – the era of modern coachbuilding. With the Divo, we have created a highly customized masterpiece of automotive craftsmanship that is a must-have for any Bugatti collection.” The new hyper sports car has been named after Albert Divo, a French pilot and racing driver who was also a Bugatti works driver for quite some time. In a period spanning 20 years, Divo claimed many victories, amongst others winning six Grand Prix races and two Targa Florio.

    Divo restarts coachbuilding tradition

The English word “coach” refers to a carriage or a car, and coachbuilding is equivalent to haute couture in the fashion sector: it describes customized cars for individual tastes. In 1932, Jean Bugatti, son of company founder Ettore Bugatti, already created the elegant roadster body for the Type 41 Royale luxury vehicle at the age of 23. Its owner was textile magnate Armand Esders, which is why the vehicle is known today as the “Royale Esders”. However, Jean Bugatti’s masterpiece is considered to be the Type 57 SC Atlantic – a sports coupé delivering over 200 PS with a breathtaking bodyshell of which only four were ever built.

The difference in terms of today’s coachbuilding vehicles like the Divo is that in the past, master body-makers simply tailored different body shapes to a chassis – they hardly ever modified the technology. In contrast, with the new Divo development designers and engineers modified the technology and boosted the performance. “We had a host of liberties when we developed the Divo because we limited the top speed to 380 km/h. As a result, we were able to generate more downforce and turn the Divo into a visually and technically independent model”, Deputy Design Director Frank Heyl explains. Consequently, the extremely well-performing hyper sports car has become even more agile.

However, the new Bugatti also differs from the Chiron in terms of how it looks. Thanks to its slimmer sideline and additional air intakes to cool the brakes, the Divo looks flatter and more sporty. The bonnet now has air intakes that reduce the front surface of the vehicle and improve the airflow. An optimized Aero Curtain ensures improved aerodynamics at the front and rear of the vehicle’s sides. The new front spoiler design creates more downforce, directing more air to the front air intakes. Four independent air sources on each side of the vehicle cool the brakes. The compact, lightweight LED headlights with a narrow light opening measuring a mere 35 millimeters particularly catch the eye. These headlight slots featuring boomerang daytime driving lights extend far into the wings so that the radiator seems to be floating.

Rear parts produced as part of the 3D printing process

Just as impressive, the complex 3D rear lights. They form part of the rear grille that was produced on the basis of procedures including 3D printing. It features special fins. A total of 44 of these fins light up and form the rear light. The stunning NACA Air Duct air intake featuring the central fin on the roof provides the 8.0-liter W16 engine generating 1,500 horsepower with its intake air. It simultaneously improves the aerodynamics, guides the air towards the 1.83-meter wide rear spoiler in a more targeted way, and minimizes turbulence. A raised diffuser supports the width effect at the rear, making it optically flatter. “Visually we have structured the Divo in a top section, the organic part, and a lower section, the mechanical part. As a result, we underline the vehicle’s wide character and the Divo seems even more sporty”, Frank Heyl explains. Blue lines on the tires are just as striking, making the wheels seem larger and thus more sporty.

The production process is also crucial for Divo. This is the first Bugatti model to be created digitally. Designers and developers assessed the model using VR goggles, milled hard-foam models at a scale of 1:1 on this basis, and had a look at the proportions from a distance of 30 to 40 meters to gain a better feeling for shapes and proportions. “The symbiosis between designers and CAD modeling staff was inspiring and very creative teamwork. Thanks to the close cooperation we were able to create a new model in a mere five months – an extraordinarily short period of time”, Frank Heyl explains. Ever since Bugatti has continued to digitalize and improve development processes so that every model is now visually developed on a digital basis. This means that aficionados of the brand can look forward to what the future brings.

  • Cadillac LYRIQ

    2023-Cadillac-LYRIQ

Cadillac’s introduction of its electric portfolio begins today with the debut of the LYRIQ show car — a dynamic, modern, and fully electric luxury crossover.

The propulsion system and supporting technologies position Cadillac to be a leader in electrification, connectivity, and automated driving, all delivered with thrilling performance and a new threshold in technology integration.

“Led by LYRIQ, Cadillac will redefine American luxury over the next decade with a new portfolio of transformative EVs,” said Steve Carlisle, executive vice president and president, GM North America. “We will deliver experiences that engage the senses, anticipate desires, and enable our customers to go on extraordinary journeys.”

The LYRIQ is based on GM’s next-generation, modular electric vehicle platform and driven by the Ultium propulsion system, allowing Cadillac to deliver customers a variety of range and performance options. With range being one of the biggest factors when it comes to selecting an EV, we’re designing LYRIQ to offer beyond 300 miles of range on a full charge, based on internal testing1. Performance and technology highlights include:

    • Charging options that fit a variety of preferences for home, the workplace, and on the road — including DC fast charging rates over 150 kilowatts and Level 2 charging rates up to 19 kW2.
    • Rear-wheel drive and performance all-wheel-drive configurations.
    • The latest version of Super Cruise3, the industry’s first truly hands-free driver assistance feature, available on more than 200,000 miles of compatible highways and recently enhanced to include automated lane change.
    • New technologies such as dual-plane augmented reality-enhanced head-up display and remote self-parking.
    • The brand’s most seamless and adaptive technology interaction with the driver and passengers, including the latest Cadillac user experience, which is showcased in a 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED screen the spans the entire viewing area of the driver.

“LYRIQ was conceived to make every journey exhilarating and leverages more than a century of innovation to drive the brand into a new era, while rewarding passengers with a more personal, connected and immersive experience,” said Jamie Brewer, Cadillac LYRIQ chief engineer. “To do this we developed an architecture specifically for EVs.  It is not only an exceptional EV but first and foremost a Cadillac.”

    LIBERATING PERFORMANCE
Some luxury EVs today feature adapted traditional internal combustion engine architecture, that is not the case with LYRIQ. Cadillac’s all-new, modular EV platform on which the LYRIQ is based is the foundation for its liberating performance. With a dedicated EV architecture, its design eliminates significant physical constraints associated with adapting electric propulsion within a conventional vehicle architecture, for an optimized design that supports greater driving range, engaging driving experience, and a new interpretation of passenger space.

Within the LYRIQ, the Ultium battery system is a structural element of the architecture, integrated in ways that contribute to ride and handling, as well as safety. In fact, the lower center of gravity and near 50/50 weight distribution enabled by the placement of the battery pack results in a vehicle that’s sporty, responsive, and allows for spirited driving.

Additionally, the LYRIQ is driven primarily by the rear wheels, with a performance all-wheel-drive option available. The placement of the drive motor at the rear of the vehicle contributes an even greater feeling of balance and agility — attributes that affirm Cadillac’s longstanding commitment to satisfying performance. It also enables the system to channel more torque to the pavement without wheelspin for exhilarating acceleration and greater cornering capability. Vehicles equipped with performance all-wheel drive go a step further, with a second drive unit placed at the front of the vehicle, which allows for a significant amount of tuning flexibility, enhancing vehicle dynamics and performance for drivers.

    2023-Cadillac-LYRIQ1

    ALL-NEW ULTIUM BATTERY SYSTEM
The Cadillac LYRIQ is powered by GM’s new Ultium battery system, which offers approximately 100 kilowatt-hours of energy to deliver stirring performance.

Ultium’s state-of-the-art NCMA (nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum) chemistry uses aluminum in the cathode to help reduce the need for rare-earth materials such as cobalt. In fact, GM engineers reduced the cobalt content by more than 70 percent, compared to current GM batteries.

The advanced battery chemistry is packed in large, flat pouch cells that enable smart module construction to reduce complexity and simplify cooling needs. Additionally, the battery electronics are incorporated directly into the modules, eliminating nearly 90 percent of the battery pack wiring, compared to GM’s current electric vehicles.

When it comes to charging, LYRIQ offers quick and convenient charging options whether at home or on the go. With DC fast charging, the LYRIQ can charge at rates over 150 kW.

    ARTFULLY INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY
Envisioned to make interaction with its technologies more intuitive and rewarding, the LYRIQ’s partnership with the driver and passengers is simultaneously energizing and artful.

Upon approach, the LYRIQ recognizes the driver and initiates a “greeting” with a choreographed lighting sequence, while also preparing the cabin for the journey, including seat, mirror, and climate system adjustments. Once inside, the LYRIQ offers Cadillac’s highest level of driver information, infotainment and connectivity integration, for a more seamless and rewarding experience.

A 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED display artfully integrates a single, large screen that spans the viewing area for the driver and incorporates driver information details, infotainment controls, and camera views. This new display has the highest pixel density available in the automotive industry today and can display over one billion colors, 64 times more than any other vehicle in the automotive industry, providing a stunning in-vehicle experience unlike anything seen before from Cadillac.

Additional technology and interactive highlights include:

    • Battery and charging monitoring conveyed by easy, at-a-glance graphics. The system identifies the vehicle’s energy needs at home and on the go, according to owner preferences, while also monitoring and forecasting energy consumption and providing charging suggestions.
    • A new dual-plane augmented reality-enhanced head-up display employs two planes: a near plane indicating speed, direction, and more, and a far plane displaying transparent navigation signals and other important alerts.
    • The latest version of Super Cruise, the hands-free driver assistance feature, including automated lane change.3
    • Supervised remote parking that uses ultrasonic sensors to help the LYRIQ park itself in parallel or perpendicular parking spaces — whether the driver is inside or outside of the vehicle.4

    2023-Cadillac-LYRIQ2

    SENSE OF SOUND
LYRIQ’s technology also addresses sound in two important ways: Blocking unwanted sounds and making the most of the sounds passengers want to hear.

For the first time, Cadillac will introduce a new road noise cancellation technology, which takes active noise cancellation to the next level by introducing more microphones and accelerometers, which improve noise cancellation abilities. With this new system, Cadillac’s performance and audio engineers can target the frequency range of tire cavity noise, reducing the noise level in the vehicle and allowing for a quieter in-cabin experience.

The Cadillac LYRIQ builds on the brand’s exclusive partnership with AKG. “With LYRIQ we wanted to deliver a sound experience that would transport the driver from a vehicle into a recording studio,” said Hussein Khalil, Cadillac lead audio design release engineer. “With the AKG sound system, we are able to deliver this experience along with the quality and reliability of luxury customers expect.”

At launch, LYRIQ will offer a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system that delivers exceptionally crisp and precise sound reproduction, enabling drivers and passengers to enjoy their favorite music.

    NEW FACE OF CADILLAC
Cadillac’s first electric SUV makes a bold design statement that introduces a new face, proportion, and presence for the brand’s new generation of EVs. It’s a forward-looking vision unconstrained by the needs of a traditional internal combustion engine and driveline.

“The LYRIQ represents the next iteration of the iconic brand’s styling, enabled by electrification, as only Cadillac can express,” said Andrew Smith, executive director, Global Cadillac Design. “Inside and out, LYRIQ is a thoughtful integration of design and technology and is intended to make every drive an occasion.”

Defined by taut lines and clean surfaces, LYRIQ is assertive and modern, characterized with a low, fast roofline and wide stance that emphasize agility and convey confidence. Additional details such as a flow-through roof spoiler express the careful attention paid to aerodynamics to optimize efficiency on the highway.

A distinctive “black crystal” grille in the front is one of the LYRIQ’s most unique and expressive design elements. It is also a dynamic feature, as it is part of a dramatic lighting choreography that — along with bold vertical, slim LED signature lighting — greets the owner upon approach. At the rear, a split taillamp design incorporates slim LEDs that are also integrated into the lighting choreography.

Inside, the LYRIQ’s new electric vehicle architecture opens up possibilities in vehicle spaciousness and design; and Cadillac designers used this as an opportunity to rethink how to use the space and where to locate various interior elements.

The result is a more airy, minimalistic design that does more to involve the driver and passengers in the driving experience while offering exceptional functionality when it comes to storage solutions. It is also brimming with subtle yet obsessive details such as backlit speaker grilles, curved screens with hidden storage, and, like the exterior, orchestrated lighting features.

  • Kia Stonic Mild Hybrid

    2021-Kia-Stonic-Mild-Hybrid
Kia Motors has introduced significant upgrades to the Kia Stonic compact SUV, strengthening the car’s position in the European B-SUV segment.

The upgraded Stonic offers drivers a range of efficient new ‘Smartstream’ powertrains, with innovations that enhance efficiency. Among these, the Stonic is now available with Kia’s new petrol 48V mild-hybrid ‘EcoDynamics+’ powertrain, and is also equipped with the company’s new ‘clutch-by-wire’ intelligent Manual Transmission.

The interior and exterior design of the Stonic remains largely unchanged, however, owners have an even greater scope of color options than before, with new body and roof colors and combinations, and a new wheel choice. Inside, larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment and navigation system can be specified with Kia’s new ‘Phase II’ UVO Connect telematics features. Safety and driver support are further enhanced with the adoption of a range of new high-tech advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Introduced to the European market at the end of 2017, the Stonic has since become Kia’s fourth best-selling model annually in the region (following the Ceed model family, Sportage, and Picanto). Total European sales to-date come to more than 150,000 units.*

The upgraded Kia Stonic goes on sale in Europe during the third quarter of 2020, with Kia’s industry-leading 7-Year, 100,000-mile warranty included as standard on all models.

The UK on-sale date, pricing, and specification will be announced nearer to the on-sale date in Q4 2020.

New EcoDynamics+ petrol mild-hybrid with new intelligent Manual Transmission
The upgraded Kia Stonic will offer the brand’s new petrol mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) ‘EcoDynamics+’ powertrain. Pairing a new ‘Smartstream’ 1.0-litre T-GDi (Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection) engine with a 48V MHEV system, the EcoDynamics+ powertrain delivers greater efficiency by seamlessly deploying and recuperating electric power. A compact 48-volt lithium-ion polymer battery supplements the engine’s torque output with electric power, and extends engine ‘off time’ with a new Mild-Hybrid Starter-Generator (MHSG) unit.

The MHSG is connected by belt to the engine’s crankshaft and switches seamlessly between ‘motor’ and ‘generator’ modes. In ‘motor’ mode, under acceleration, the MHSG provides electric power assistance to reduce engine load and emissions. As the car decelerates, the MHSG has the ability under certain conditions to switch to ‘generator’ mode, recuperating energy from the crankshaft to recharge the battery.

The new Smartstream engine replaces the Stonic’s earlier ‘Kappa’-generation 1.0-litre T-GDi and is equipped with Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) technology. CVVD enables the engine to switch seamlessly between different combustion cycles depending on load, maximizing efficiency in all driving situations. The Smartstream engine produces the same power as the previous Kappa engine – 100 ps or 120 ps – but enables slightly higher peak torque output, depending on transmission. For instance, peak torque output from 120 ps models with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) is 16 percent higher, at 200 Nm.

The new EcoDynamics+ powertrain is offered on both 100 ps and 120 ps versions of the new engine, with a Drive Mode Select system letting drivers of each version customize their drive with ‘Eco’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Normal’ modes.

EcoDynamics+ models are also available with Kia’s new intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). The ‘clutch-by-wire’ system contributes to the MHEV system’s greater fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions while retaining the driver engagement of a conventional manual transmission. Instead of a mechanical linkage, the iMT’s clutch is actuated electronically. It integrates seamlessly with the MHSG to switch off the engine earlier than Kia’s Idle Stop & Go start-stop system when coasting to a halt.

Both transmissions, iMT and 7DCT, enable periods of engine-off ‘sailing’ to improve fuel efficiency. This operates at speeds of up to 77 mph (125 km/h), and the engine reactivates when the driver pushes the accelerator, brake or clutch pedals.

    New Smartstream petrol powertrains
The upgraded Kia Stonic also features major revisions to its existing range of petrol engine options, maximizing efficiency, lowering CO2 emissions, and improving driveability. As well as EcoDynamics+ models, the line-up is now offered in Europe with a choice of non-hybrid Smartstream petrol engines – the new 100 ps 1.0-litre T-GDi engine, and a new version of Kia’s naturally aspirated 1.2-liter engine, with innovative Dual Port Injection technology and a power output of 84 ps.

The 100 ps 1.0-litre T-GDi engine is now offered with a choice of a six-speed manual transmission, replacing the earlier five-speed manual, and a seven-speed DCT.

Official performance and efficiency figures for every new Stonic powertrain – including EcoDynamics+ models – will be announced nearer to the car’s on-sale date.

Upgraded infotainment with innovative UVO Connect ‘Phase II’ telematics
The Stonic features an upgraded touchscreen navigation system offering Kia’s innovative ‘Phase II’ UVO Connect telematics system, enhancing vehicle connectivity and control.

A larger 8.0-inch touchscreen display is offered as standard, with Display Audio or Satellite Navigation depending on vehicle specification. The new system features Bluetooth multi-connection, enabling users to connect up to two mobile devices at the same time – one for hands-free phone and media use; the other for media use only. The system offers wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ on models equipped with the new 8.0-inch Display Audio system, negating the need for many owners to connect their smartphones via a cable.

The upgraded Stonic offers Kia’s new ‘Phase II’ UVO Connect telematics features, with a range of On-Board Services including live traffic information, weather forecasts, points of interest (POIs), fuel prices, and details of potential on- and off-street parking – including price, location, and availability. Online Voice Recognition lets users search for POIs, addresses, weather updates, or send text messages with voice commands. A new ‘Online Navigation’ routing service uses cloud-based real-time and historical traffic data to predict time-efficient routes more accurately than ever before.

The UVO App, compatible with Android™ and Apple™ smartphones, also offers a range of new ‘Phase II’ features, including Last Mile Navigation. This helps customers continue navigating to their journey’s final destination, even after they have parked and left the car behind. It helps Kia customers navigate in towns and cities where parking hubs are often some distance away from shops, cafés, and restaurants.

A new ‘User Profile Transfer’ feature enables users to back-up their in-vehicle UVO preferences via the cloud and transfer settings from one vehicle to the next. This is designed for customers who often switch between different UVO Connect-equipped Kia cars, such as fleet drivers who use pool cars or families with more than one UVO Connect-equipped Kia in their household.

New color and wheel options for added customization potential
Inside and out, the design of the upgraded Stonic remains largely unchanged, with the latest model boasting newly designed full-LED headlamps with a striking new design. With the car’s compact crossover styling still looking fresh since its launch, Kia is instead giving customers new ways to customize their Stonic.

On the outside, a new 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheel choice is available, as well as two new exterior paint colors – Storm Grey and Azure Blue. The color palette offers customers a choice of up to nine paint finishes. In addition, the new body and roof colors on offer creates the opportunity for a wider choice of color contrast paint colors. With the roof now available in a Zest Yellow paint finish, the total number of two-tone color options has risen to 20, depending on market and vehicle specification. The two-tone roof is popular with Stonic customers, with 33 percent of all European customers specifying this stand-out option.

Inside, in addition to the new larger 8.0-inch touchscreen, the driver is also rewarded with a new higher-resolution 4.2-inch digital display in the instrument cluster. New interior customization options are also available for the cabin, with new blue and yellow color packs bringing the total choice to four, depending on vehicle specification and market. These add a dash of color and flair to the cabin, with bright color highlights on the dashboard and center console.

    New ADAS safety technologies available
The upgraded Stonic features several of Kia’s latest Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), depending on specification. These include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with the pedestrian, vehicle and newly introduced cyclist recognition, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), and Lane Following Assist (LFA).

LFA in collaboration with SCC controls acceleration, braking, and steering depending on the vehicles in front and road conditions. Operating at speeds below 180 kph, it uses camera and radar sensors to maintain a safe distance from the car in front, while monitoring road markings to keep the Stonic in the center of its lane. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and front and rear parking sensors are available, as well as a new Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) system, which alerts the driver if they inadvertently leave a passenger or pet in the car.

The upgraded model is fitted with six airbags throughout the cabin, as well as ISOFIX child-seat tether and anchor points.

The new Stonic in the UK
Each market in Europe will specify their Stonic line-up according to national market requirements and consumer preferences. The new Stonic will come to the UK in Q4 of 2020, UK specification, line-up, pricing, engine options, and color choices will be announced at this time.

    2020-Bentley-Bentayga-v8
Four new collections of Bentley accessories are now available for customers of the new Bentley Bentayga to enhance the specification and capability of their extraordinary luxury SUV even further. The four-strong portfolio – Exterior, Interior, Touring, and Protection – allow customers to increase the individualism, luxury, and utility of their Bentayga. The Bentley accessories range is developed by the same engineers at Crewe as the cars themselves and is tested with the same level of scrutiny, guaranteeing immaculate quality.

A highlight of the accessories range is the sports exhaust, created in conjunction with renowned manufacturer Akrapovič, and which creates a more exciting exhaust note. The lightweight system is made from high-grade titanium and consists of a set of link pipes, a muffler, and two sets of oval tailpipes, which are engraved with the Bentley and Akrapovič logos and specially coated for increased durability and protection. The central silencer is replaced with straight pipes, which channel the exhaust gases into the customer rear muffler where they are swirled through internal baffles to create a more characterful voice. Through close cooperation between Bentley and Akrapovič engineers, the system has been specifically designed for the Bentayga and uses complex parts cast in Akrapovič’s in-house foundry, including the housings of the exhaust valves, which offer added control over the sound of the exhaust for discerning users.

The system is inspired by the special exhaust system made by Akrapovič for Bentley’s Pikes Peak Bentayga, which set a new record for production SUVs on the infamous Pikes Peak hillclimb in 2018. It is available now for the Bentayga V8 in Bentley’s North American and Middle East markets, while a version of the exhaust for the first generation Bentayga W12 is available globally as an aftersales accessory.

Exterior Range for Performance and Style
The Exterior range is designed for customers looking to accentuate the look and sound of their Bentayga. Along with the Akrapovič exhaust system, another performance-inspired option is specially-developed high-gloss carbon fibre mirror cowls, which add a particularly eye-catching detail when paired with Bentley’s Blackline Specification, which replaces all exterior bright chrome with gloss black versions.

A fixed side step option provides customers with a practical solution aiding entry and exit of the new Bentayga, as well as helping access to roof-mounted accessories. A rubber tread features diamond quilting along the full length of the vehicle between the wheel arches and provides grip under-foot. The fixed sill step can be ordered with either a Black Gloss, Carbon or Moonbeam painted finish.

Standard luggage is also available as an option in Beluga calf leather.

Characterised by the same criteria of luxury and performance as the Bentayga, the Bentley range of golf bags are water resistant and exceptionally detailed. Taking their design influence from the interior cabin space, Cart Bag and Stand Bag feature diamond quilted details for understated luxury both on and off the course.

Touring Range – Increased Stowage and Utility
The touring range expands the Bentayga’s sizeable 484 litre boot capacity with further stowage space and luggage management options including a Bentley roof box, capability to carry up to three bikes or six sets of skis, and storage for valuables.

Branded cross bars are the base of Bentayga’s roof mounted storage system, and secure the roof box or ski and snowboard carrier to the car. Designed to support aerodynamic performance, they lock securely to the roof rails to ensure safe transit in all conditions. Similarly, the ski and snowboard carrier holds up to four snowboards or six sets of skis, and is the perfect option for winter sports enthusiasts – making the Bentayga the perfect car for a grand tour to the Alps.

Elegantly styled to complement the vehicle’s shape, the lockable roof box offers secure storage. With a load capacity of 75 kilograms and a volume of 320 litres, the additional space is ideal for an active lifestyle.

A multi-functional boot stowage box option fits securely to the boot floor and allows an internal drawer to slide out, allowing convenient access to contents. The drawer can be divided into two separate sections and offers secure storage for valuables. The interior walls and floor are also covered with a durable and waterproof thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and an integrated drain plug enables any water or dirt to be removed easily. With a capacity of up to 100 litres, it has been designed with an active lifestyle in mind and is an ideal way to transport wet sporting equipment or clothing. The stowage box is finished in beautiful anodized satin finish matching the bootload rails.

Providing an effective method to reach the back of the boot, the load assist tray option is integrated into the boot runners and slides out effortlessly, allowing easy access to stored items. The tray has a load capacity of 300 kilograms and is manufactured from lightweight aluminum.

Two versions of the Bentley Cycle Carrier are available, to carry two or three bikes mounted to the car via the tow bar. The boot is still accessible when the carrier is in use and when not, it can be folded away for easy stowage.

Protection Range – for Peace of Mind
The protection range consists of car covers, heavy-duty interior mats, and mud flaps.

Two different exterior covers are available, both shaped to match the contours of the new Bentayga with precision. The indoor cover offers an extra barrier against the effects of moisture and dust, even when stored inside, while the outdoor cover offers additional waterproofing and ensures the paint finish and brightware is protected from extreme weather and pollution.

Specifically designed for Bentayga, the mud flaps have been developed to protect the car’s paintwork and help maintain its exterior condition. Made from a durable TPE and secured to the body of the car, they have been styled by the design team in Crewe to compliment the styling cues of the Bentayga while still providing an extra barrier from road debris.

For adverse conditions, heavy-duty floor mats provide high-quality protection and excellent grip, even when wet. Tailored to fit perfectly within each individual footwell, the branded floor mats have raised edges to protect the existing carpets. At the rear of the vehicle, the durable bumper protector will help to keep the upper surface of the rear bumper free from scratches and or damage, in addition to the heavy-duty boot mat to protect the boot floor.

  • Should You Buy Your Off Lease Car

2019-Second-Hand-Vehicle-910So, your lease is about to be up and you’re trying to decide whether to lease another car, buy a different car, or keep the one you have. Well, if your plan to buy another car entails getting a used one, you might just be better off continuing with the one you have. After all, you’ll never find a used car with which you’ll be more familiar — right? However, that’s just one of the things to ponder when you’re wondering whether you should buy your off lease car.

    What’s the Car Worth?

The vehicle’s residual value was established when you signed the deal. The primary determinant of how much you paid, the residual is what the leasing company expected the car to bring as a used model when they liquidated it at the end of your lease. Sometimes they get that number dead on, other times they’re a bit too high or a bit too low. If the estimate was too low and you can buy the car for less than its fair market value, doing so is certainly worth considering.

    What’s the Car’s Condition?

This one can be a double-edged sword. If you did everything the way you were told you should and the car is in pristine condition, buying it could be a good move — especially if the residual value is artificially low. On the other hand, if you flat dogged the ride and it shows, you’ll be required to pay for every little thing the inspector finds wrong at the end of the lease. In this instance, it might add up to what you’d pay to just keep the car — in which case you probably should. On the other hand, it could go either way if you’re somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.

    Mileage Matters Too

The accrued mileage comes into play along with the overall condition of the car when it comes to determining its true value at the end of the lease. In most cases, your lease contract requires you to keep the mileage at or below 12,000 miles per year on mainstream cars and 10,000 miles per year on luxury cars. You’ll be required to pay $.25 for each mile over the agreed-upon amount if you exceeded your “mileage cap.”

This can sometimes add up to more than it would cost to buy the car, or enough to make buying the car worth considering. However, this too can be a two-sided coin. If your mileage is far below what you agreed upon, you might well be in a position to get a great deal on an extremely low mileage used car. This is a very real consideration when you’re contemplating whether to lease or buy a car.

    Buyouts Are Negotiable

The leasing company will have to pay to prepare the car for resale or auction when you turn it in. The typical $350 disposition fee it charges covers some of this. However, conditioning a car can sometimes cost more. It is completely within the realm of reason to offer the leasing company a lower price than the residual value to make the purchase.

Of course, you’ll only know any of these things for sure if you ask.

If you’re going back and forth over whether you should buy your off lease car, it never hurts to get in touch with an agent of the leasing company to see if you can negotiate a lower purchase price. After all, you’ll be saving them a lot of trouble and expense. They might be willing to pass that on to you in savings if you decide to keep the car.

  • New Chevrolet C8 Corvette ZR1 rumored to possess 900 Horsepower

2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8With the new C8 Corvette just around the corner for 2020, there are several speculations in the wind as to how much more powerful the new generation of ‘Vettes will be. Motortrend may have a definitive answer to that question. As it stands, the magazine cites a senior official at GM, who shall remain nameless, that the C8 ZR1 may pack as much as 900 horsepower right out of the factory.

    A monster in the works

The new C8 Corvette has taken the sports car market in the US by storm. The entry-level Stingray won’t be available by February, and Chevrolet reports that the company has already hit 60% of the total allocated pre-order units. Packing in a newly designed LT2 6.2L V8 under the hood, this beast has 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque sent straight to the rear wheels. Now that the engine is mounted in the middle, the car’s weight balance has been refined. This makes it not only the most powerful Stingray ever but the best handling one as well.

Muscle Cars and Trucks did a recent dyno test with the new C8 Corvette. The results of the test made quite a buzz since the actual power figures went way ahead of the official data. The C8 Corvette Stingray is easily capable to take on the best of the Porsches and McLarens, without costing more than a dime above $60,000 for the base trim.

It’s not the first time when the internet is going crazy over the new C8 Corvette but yeah this news shook the Corvette world as the 2019 Corvette ZR1 had a horsepower of 755 only. A bump of 145 horsepower could be a gamechanger for Chevy.

    Power and More Power

Whereas the Stingray seems impressive enough with its performance, it denotes the just tip of the iceberg. Early in November, Chevrolet unveiled the C8.R racing car that will compete in the Daytona. This version had a 5.5L flat-plane crank 5.5L V8 that produced 500 horsepower. While this LT2 powertrain is sure to find its way into production Corvettes, Chevy has also confirmed twin-turbo and hybrid powertrains of the same.

A recent report from Jalopnik stated the design and cutaway images for both the C8 Z06 and ZR1. While the Z06 would go for the twin-turbo LT2 V8 engine, the hybrid powertrain would find its way into the ZR1. According to this report, there is a section in the front of the car housing a 1.94 kWh battery connected to an electric motor in the front axle. The setup would deliver an additional 114 horsepower to the front wheels, making the total output to 914 horsepower. That is 100 more than what Chevrolet had initially led everyone to believe. Not only that, the arrangement of the engine and motor make the C8 ZR1 effectively an AWD.

When can it hit the showrooms?

    2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8

It is rather difficult to predict when the C8 Corvette ZR1 might make its way to Chevrolet dealerships. Since there has been no official announcement, we can safely assume that there will be nothing happening until at least the fall of 2020. This puts the Z06 behind by a year from the Stingray, a rather large time gap by Corvettes. Nevertheless, the specs show that the supercar-killer is well worth the wait. It may be one of the best performance cars, even the most powerful production cars, to ever set foot on American soil, ever. For updates regarding the launch of 2020 C8 Corvette check out Chevy Cars where they cover everything related to Chevrolet and all it’s upcoming projects.

  • 4 Tips to Keep Your Car Maintained

2019 Car MaintenaniceIt is always painful to pay for car repair when the prices of everything have reached the sky, and car repairing is not cheap at all. However, many times, we have to take our cars to auto repair shops because of the flat tire, dead battery, clogged filter, weird noises, and whatnot. The good news is, you can minimize all these expenses of auto repair and can maintain your car well on your own. All you need to do is to take some time out to perform these checks mentioned below. Here are a few easy to remember and simple tips to keep your car in good running condition. If you keep the value of your car, then heed these tips!

    1.      Check and Change Car’s Oil

How often should you have your oil checked or changed? For years, car owners have been told that their car’s oil needed to be changed every 3000 miles or after three months. Well, oil manufacturers claim that oil can last up to 10,000 miles, which means you really don’t need oil service that frequently. However, oil is the blood of your vehicle, and your car isn’t going to go far and smoothly without it. Therefore, you must know how to check your car’s oil. Plus, the best practice is to get it replaced every 5,000 miles to maximize engine efficiency for a longer period.

    2.      Check Your Battery Frequently

A dead car battery can ruin your whole day, and you don’t want to get stranded at the side of the road. The good news is, checking your vehicle’s battery and keeping its condition in check is not a daunting task. Most auto shops offer battery testing at very affordable rates. It is probably the best way to spot problems at an early stage, so you don’t have to pay for a tow truck to tow your car to the auto shop.

    3.      Clean Windshields and Change the Wipers

Dirty windshields can cause visual impairments and can also result in an accident. Therefore, they should be cleaned properly every day before you start driving so you can see the road clearly. It is very significant for you to have a clear view of the road to make sure you and others on the road are safe. If they are not cleaned, then the dirt particles can collect and scratch the windshield when you use the wipers. If you live in the area where it often rains, then it is recommended to check your wipers and replace them if needed. Moreover, while cleaning if you notice any cracks on your windshield, then you should get it replaced too by any autoglass TEC.

    4.      Check Tire Pressure and Ge Them Balanced

It is recommended to check the pressure of your vehicle’s tires pressure before any extended road trip or once a month. You can use tire-pressure gauge to access the inflation pressure in every tire, including the spare, make sure they are properly inflated. You don’t want your tire to burst in the middle of nowhere. Therefore, maintain the proper pressure in each tire and get them rotated and balanced to make them more long-wearing.

  • Five ways to prepare your car for winter

2019 Winter Driving Winter is fast approaching — but if you’re wondering how your car will cope, don’t worry. So long as you know how, it shouldn’t take long to prep yours for the chilly months. To do just that, why not follow our top auto tips?

    1. Clear space in your garage

It’s widely advised that you don’t park outside in frosty conditions — and for good reason! If you leave your motor out in the cold for a long period of time (say overnight), it could cause serious damage. Extreme cold, for example, can affect the voltage in a vehicle’s battery — sometimes this even applies to electric motors. And let’s face it, perhaps the last thing you want on a wintery morning is to not be able to start your car! Luckily, you can prevent this from happening by parking it in your garage.

    1. Invest in a specialised cover

The cold doesn’t just affect the inner workings of your car — it can also impact its outer parts, too. Take your tyres, for example. If the air’s really cold, it can affect the pressure, potentially causing tyres to deflate. The solution? Invest in a specialised cover that shields your motor entirely from the cold. If your tyres are protected with a thick, specially designed cover, they’ll likely be far less susceptible to this wintry effect.

    1. Increase tyre tread

Once again, key winter car prep involves your car tyres. As you’ll no doubt have seen for yourself, snow and ice can make for tricky driving, as it’s easier to lose our grip on ungritted roads. That’s why it’s crucial that your tyres are able to counter this effect – increase the tread on yours, and you can guarantee this. Though minimum tyre tread is 1.6mm, it’s widely advised to keep it to 3mm in icy conditions, in order to improve your car’s traction and grip.

    1. Always check your lights

Checking your lights is essential at any point in the year — but it’s particularly vital during winter. After all, this is the season of long, dark nights. For maximum safety, why don’t you book to have a professional assess your motor? That way, you’ll be able to drive with complete peace of mind throughout the coming months. Make sure, though, to also check your lights yourself whenever you’re about to head out onto the road. In addition, look out for dirt, grime or frost on your motor lights, as each can reduce brightness impact.

    1. Create an emergency fund

Prepare yourself effectively, and you shouldn’t have to worry about driving in winter. That said, it’s almost always a good idea to have an emergency fund set up, so that you’re fully ready to deal with any seasonal surprises. So, how do you start building a motoring emergency pot? Whether you save a small amount each month in a separate account, or research other funding alternatives it’s always a good idea to make a plan ahead of time, so that you are never caught off-guard.

We may be due some cold weather this winter — but that doesn’t have to affect your car and its performance. Now that you know how, you’ll easily be able to keep your car in top condition this winter.
