So, we can finally review it! The new BMW flagship model comes with some more futuristic systems and technologies. One of the most interesting is definitely the eDrive system with plug-in hybrid drive system that uses some precise executed interplay of a four-cylinder gasoline engines with Twin Power Turbo technology.

In fact, the new plug-in hybrid unit delivers some dynamic driving experience, blended with all-electric and locally emission-free mobility. Furthermore, BMW Group defines the new BMW 7 Series as the most eco-friendly lineup the brand has created so far. Actually, we are not that sure. We have written for numerous brands that have revealed “the most economic and environmentally-friendly system” and 99% of them are pure marketing gimmicks. So, BMW, your move!

Of course, as it comes to BMW vehicle, we are obliged to talk about design. This sweetheart demonstrates all the famous and well-known design tweaks that all in the family share. We see a confidently standing vehicle with elegant lines and neatly placed edges. Of course, the double-kidney grille defines the front, just as the badass-looking headlamps. The sides are clean and do not show anything that should not be there, while the back shares this concept: it is tight, muscular and clean. Beautiful.

Performance, numbers and more

So, what more could be said about the drive system? The plug-in hybrid system blends together innovations from the world of combustion power units and electric systems. Or, in other words, the 255hp (190kW) and 295 lb-ft of torque machine offers some more dynamics and power, all generated far more efficiently and confidently.

And when this power unit works in harmony with the hybrid system, the overall output rises to a total of 322hp (240kW) and 369lb-ft. Massive, right? And when in optimal conditions and power setup the vehicle can reach 100 kilometers per hour in mere 5.1 seconds and then chase an electronically limited top speed of 279km/h (155mph).

So, BMW team still proves itself worthy, even in the new world of economy, electricity and flexibility. Honestly said, we do love BMW and all of brand’s machines. And there is a fine reason for that.

noelle motors impresses with BMW 750i’s new power capability

The iconic BMW 750i receives a three staged power uprating program

This project will excite many BMW enthusiasts, because it adds more power within the means of three upgrade stages. The conversion has been developed for the BMW 750i G11, and those looking for an uprating might consider this one. So, here are the details.

If you are very strongly linked with your love for BMW, then you should probably know the tuning company called noelle motors, which is responsible for the current project here. An interesting fact is that it’s founder Karl-Otto Noelle was the former head of engine development at Alpina in the 80s. He’s main passion and duty was to extract massive amount of power from engines.

The legendary BMW 750i is currently equipped with the V8 unit, which due to the addition of a pair of turbochargers, direct injection and Valvetronic, pumps out 450 hp and 650 Nm of torque. In other words, the engineers at noelle motors has the best possible toy to play with. They have thus developed a three staged program for the bi-turbo V8 N63B44 motor.

Stage 1 is just software optimization, which takes the output to 590 hp and 760 Nm of torque. Given that these numbers have been raised, this means that the benchmark 0-100 km/h sprint should be shortened: it is now 4.0 seconds, compared to the standard 4.7 seconds.

The Stage 2 conversion adds over the first one a free-flow exhaust downpipe with the appropriate ECU remapping. The result is 609 hp and 790 Nm of torque and even a shorter 0-100 km/h sprint time: 3.8 seconds.

At the top of this project is the Stage 3 modification, which unleashes V8’s unlimited potential. It adds modifications to the turbochargers, larger downpipe and tailored ECU remapping, thus helping the BMW 750i produce 629 hp and 820 Nm of torque. If you wonder about the 0-100 km/h time, it is just 3.6 seconds, giving noelle motors’ BMW 750i a place in the super sports car league.

3DDesign and Carbonfiber Dynamics teams took a closer look to a lucky M5 model. Check out the result!

2016 3DDesign BMW M5 Carbonfiber Dynamics, Europe’s largest distributor of exclusive carbon parts proudly shows its latest creation: the BMW F10 M5. What is so special about this sweetie is that it showcases the highest stage of evolution in the world of carbon-fiber technology. Sounds coo to me.

So, what do we got here? A pack with front lip, side sills, diffuser and spoiler all created exclusively by 3DDesign in Japan. As you know, 3DDesign is well known among BMW circles as one of the most capable and famous tuning brands. The designers put perfection and precision as their main goals and did not disappoint: especially in collaboration with Carbonfiber Dynamics.

Geared with 21-inch exclusive rims by Vossen and with a special and ugly Fire Orange finish, the M5 will not remain unseen on the streets. Also, it surprises with the incredibly powerful power unit: with some additional modifications, the driver will be dealing with a 830hp (610kW) and some fearsome road capabilities.

And the best part? Well, the whole upgrade pack is available not only with M5 lineup, but also with M4 and M6! How cool is that?

Rock’n’Roll to the bone: witness the restoration of Elvis’ favourite BMW vehicle!

1955 Elvis' BMW 507 BMW Group Classic proudly presents the completely restored and refreshed roadster of the King of Rock’n’Roll, Elvis!

As any vehicle enthusiast would tell you, this is one of the most spectacular classic-car discoveries of recent years. The BMW 507, personally driven by Elvis Presley has somehow vanished for almost 50 years and until recently it was believed that it was lost forever. Luckily, the automobile was discovered and BMW Group Classic team decided to have a look here and there. And the result? Well, everyone can have a look at the unique car on 21 August this year at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California. And trust us, there is much to be seen!

Turning a myth into reality

At the time of discovery, the 507 suffered from severe wounds. And although all original body parts and components were present and untouched, the roadster had lost its power unit and transmission system. Being far from elegant and shiny, the forgotten vehicle was first seen with rust-eaten floor assembly, worn and broken seats, some strange “replacement parts” of unknown origin and missing instrument panel. But the oldie-goldie was dealing with BMW engineers and they did not disappoint. The roadster was delivered back to Munich under the slogan of “Return to Sender”. Along with the BMW team, some more in-house experts and external specialists joined forces to carry out the long-forgotten mythical beauty of the BMW 507.

The history of Elvis and 507

Elvis Presley had mainly used the BMW 507 to drive between his home in Bad Nauheim and the US Army Base in Friedberg. Of course, there were numerous female fans that had the unique chance to take a ride with the King and as we would expect from a rock star, the paintjob was frequently daubed with messages of love. Cool.

In March 1960, Elvis ended his military service in Germany and as it seems, he must have had enough of driving open-top cars. He traded the red roadster with a Chrysler vehicle. The new owner sold the car for incredibly low price to a radio moderator named Tommy Charles. So, Mr. Charles changed the power unit with a Chevy one in order to participate in the local street races. The problem was that the new power unit was too big for vehicle’s capacities and Tommy was forced to remove or change some of the original components with modified ones. Eventually, he had had some wins and fails and in later years was forced to sell the roadster in 1963.

There were two more ownership changes and at the end the vehicle was owned by Jack Castor, a space engineer. What he did is to undergo a careful restoration and even contacted some other engineers and vehicle enthusiasts. And guess what? Things started to happen! Eventually BMW Group Classic contacted Castor and told him the link between the vehicle and Elvis. And some time later BMW team succeeded in persuading Jack Castor to sell the vehicle for more improvements and restoration.

And we already know the rest: in 2014 the BMW 507 was shipped to Germany along with numerous parts, collected by Castor, where it undergo some incredible restoration process. Of course, the engineering team managed to gear the 507 with original parts and they even kept large number of original components.

So, take a close look at the beauty and remember a single thing: this machine was restored in a way that would amaze even the King of Rock’n’Roll!

dÄHLer is taking the BMW X4 M40i to unknown levels of performance and aerodynamics

dÄHLer BMW X4 M40i equipped with tuner’s “competition line” offers unmatched horsepower

The tuning company dÄHLer strikes again with an exclusive project, which this time is based on the X4 M40i powered by the N55-engine. The significant customization pushes further the innate capabilities of the SUV. Equipped with what the tuner is calling “dÄHLer competition line”, this X4 M40i is more powerful and dynamic as it has ever been.

In short, the modifications included here feature performance increase to 424 HP, new coil-over suspension system and performance braking unit, stainless steel exhaust system as well as new wheels and tires combination. The experts also worked on optimizing the aerodynamics and the appearance of the X4.

Starting with the main feature here, the performance step-up, it is available in three different levels. The first one fires up the in-line six-cylinder M TwinPowerTurbo with 2.979 cubic capacity to 395 HP (294 kW) and 772 Nm (570 ft-lb) of torque. The next level brings everything to 414 HP (309 kW) and 786 Nm (580 ft-lb) of maximum torque. At its best, the optimization (Level 3) brings the horses up to 424 HP (316 kW) and the impressive 800 Nm (590 ft-lb).

To be even more specific, the last numbers are more than enough to push the BMW X4 M40i from 0 to 100 in only 4.5 seconds. The top speed has been set to 270 km/h. The best part: the emissions remain unchanged from the original series.

The added performance means that there is a great need for better handling. So, the tuner added new coil-over suspension system, which increases the agility of the X4. In addition, the sporty-tight suspension system lowers the X4 enough to make it look more aggressive. dÄHLer has also given this BMW 8-piston high performance braking system with brake discs sized 400 millimeter.

In terms of visuals, the appearance of the X4 M40i is updated with better aerodynamics due to the addition of new and more efficient front spoiler lip. The rear is enhanced with a new rear wing (optional) as well as stainless steel exhaust system.

At last but not least of importance is tuner’s variant of wheel and tire combination. In other words this BMW X4 M40i runs on 20- or 21-inch (depending on the choice of the customer) dÄHLer CDC1 wheels fitted with respectfully big tires.

JMS offers distinctive ways for BMW M1 improvement

JMS BMW M1 run on brand new alloys and features upgraded suspension

BMW 1 Series M Coupe is not the typical Bavarian model that the fans would rather go for. In fact, exactly this variant, which was introduced back in 2011, is one of the least seen on the streets. Not only because of the fact that it is 1 Series M, but also because is it the coupe variant. It seems that we are also most likely used to associate the 1 Series with the hatchback variant.

But all of the aforementioned reasons aren’t good enough to say that the life of the little brother of the M3 is meaningless. Instead, many tuning companies are undertaking the task of making the M1 even better and more capable, thus highlighting its core strength. Such example is the tuning company JMS, which did some chassis upgrades for the E82.

They haven’t worked alone, but with the help of experts like KW Automotive. The cooperation of both resulted in better suspension, due to the addition of KW Variant 3 ‘Inox-line’ adjustable coilovers. This “little” extra actually gives great results. Precisely – it lowers the ride height by 30 mm at the front, and 20 mm at the rear.

The lowered ride height requires almost always new alloys. Not because it is a necessity, but just because it highlights the applied change. So, JMS added Barracuda Shoxx alloys in Matte Bronze finish and in 20-inch size. The wheels were complemented by 245/30ZR20 and 295/25ZR20 rubbers. In addition, a set of 15 mm spacers bring these wheels right to the edge of the big wheel arches, and combined with the new front spoiler lip, the whole picture is more purposeful look and improved stability.

G-Power shows how to make the fastest coupe even faster

BMW M4 Coupe gets a comprehensive power upgrade

Did you know that the BMW M4 GTS is almost twice the price of a normal M4 Coupe? It is priced approximately at 142,600 euros ($161,200 USD), but this does not seem to bother enthusiasts. Another interesting fact about the limited edition M4 GTS is that it will be produced in 700 copies, which is one of the reasons for being so expensive. But even this exclusivity could be made better, right? Here step in G-POWER: BMW M-Series tuning specialists, who have more than 35 years of experience in the modification of the Bavarian models.

They have actually recognized that the new M4 GTS is the perfect machine to make full use of their Bi-Tronik 2 V3 ECU upgrade. So they did change not one, but actually four of these significant models.

The goal of G-POWER tuning experts was to achieve more than 615 hp. So what they did is to undertake significant internal modifications to the turbine wheel and housing, add new stainless steel downpipes without catalysts for reduced backpressure, and boost the curves of the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 via custom mapping.

As a result, the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six engine, has an enhance power output from 500 hp (368 kW) to a whopping 615 hp (452 kW), with peak torque jumping from 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) to 760 Nm (561 lb-ft). With the help of the Launch Control, the G-POWER-modified M4 GTS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds on its way to the 320 km/h top speed.

By the way, there is an option which does not include the aforementioned mechanical modifications. This means that there is a basic conversion that uses the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 2 V2 with mapping optimization and boosts the output to 575 hp (423 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft).

If you ask about chassis modifications, here’s only one and it is the new wheels. The reason for this is the ultra exclusive fully adjustable coilover suspension that comes as standard with the M4 GTS. Precisely, G-POWER added in-house made lightweight HURRICANE RR sized 21-inches and fitted with low-profile performance tyres. Enjoy!

SPEED-BUSTER celebrates the 30th anniversary of BMW M5 with unique tuning program

SPEED-BUSTER offers comprehensive power upgrade for the entire BMW M5 range

BMW 5-Series is 44 years old! Can you believe that? It is almost impossible to grasp that one of the most iconic models in BMW’s lineup has debuted back in 1972 and ever since then it has been praised as being one of the best middle class prestige saloons. Fourteen years later, in 1986, BMW released an M version (M5) of the model, topping a 286 hp of performance and taking the crown as the fastest production saloon in the world! How cool is that actually!

But what happens with the current M5 series. BMW is celebrating 30 years of its introduction with the release of a special edition model. What is more, it has added the unique Gran Turismo variant, which in our opinion shows even better the capabilities of the outstanding Bavarian company.

The current series, M5 F10, has a power output between 560 and 600 hp depending on the variant one chooses. The horsepower is pretty much enough, but for those who want even more there is always someone who will offer “even more”. In this case, such someone is the renowned chip tuning company SPEED-BUSTER. The experts there have prepared a muscle-building program for the German blockbuster.

They have developed a special Chiptuning-Box, which re-maps the electronic brain controlling the TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. If one has chosen to go for the “30 Years” anniversary model, then after the modification he or she will be getting up to 695 hp, which is an increase of 95 hp. The torque has been uprated from 700 Nm to 844 Nm.

Owners of the of the M5 Competition Package variant are getting even more. The power increase has been estimated around 108 hp, thus making the numbers increase from 575 hp to a rousing 683 hp, with peak torque up from 680 to 839 Nm.

The least powerful variant among the M5s is the standard one which comes with “only” 560 hp and 680 Nm. After the SPEED-BUSTER Chiptuning-Box intervention, it is now capable of 631 hp and 820 Nm.

The ultimate performance machine BMW M2 gets styling and performance upgrade

Alpha-N Performance proudly presents an updated variant of the M2

What is better than an M2? An updated variant of an M2, of course! The responsible for today’s update of the ultimate car are the tuners at Alpha-N Performance, which have made the model more attractive and potent, and way faster.

The M2 upgrade programme begins with a choice of three boot-lid mounted spoilers. A particular highlight here is the newly designed and fully adjustable carbon rear wing, which has been additionally complemented by a matching splitter for the front spoiler.

But this is not everything. There are two other alternative designs for the rear wing: the one is an M4 GTS look-a-like and the other is a Racing-Style M235i Motorsport wing. To spill it all out, Alpha-N-Performance said that it is currently producing other carbon-fibre styling components for the M2 and that they will be offered shortly.

New wheels from OZ Racing were also added and they support the enhanced performance of the car. They come in 19-inch size, and are coupled with 245/35ZR19 and 265/35ZR19 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The handling of this BMW is further improved with the addition of fully adjustable Road & Track coilover suspension.

Speaking of the performance upgrades, the standard turbocharged straight six-cylinder engine of the M2, which sends 370 hp to the rear wheels, has been given an EVOX performance programme. The results can be classified in three stages: the first one raises the power of the engine from 370 hp to 400 hp, and the torque from 465 Nm to 580 Nm.

Stage number two is raising the numbers to 415 hp and 600Nm, while the last stage – to 430 hp, with peak torque of 620 Nm. If one goes for the third option, then he or she would also get a deletion of the electronic top speed limiter, as well as a racing downpipe without catalysts. The throaty exhaust note can be achieved via the free-flow silencer with throttle control.

Interior changes are scarce, but they complement the performance attitude of the M2 perfectly. The options for the cabin are an Awron dashboard digital display and a replacement of the standard seats with sports or race ones.

Blackout is the newest trend for BMW X3

BMW is celebrating this year its centenary and for this reason we are witnessing the birth of models, which are limited in production, and special in appearance and specifications. The Bavarian company has just announced the next model in the list of Celebration Editions. It is based on the X3 and it is all-black. As it might sound (and look) very cool, there is a very sad fact. Unfortunately, the SUV will only be seen on the streets of Japan.

What’s so special about this BMW X3 Blackout Edition then? As the name suggests (surprisingly) it is all-black, and this effect has been achieved with the Sapphire Black paint scheme. Even the kidney grille and the 18-inch alloys are black. The crossover is based on the xDrive20d but has been fitted with an M Sport package adding all of its benefits.

As you might expect, the interior is all-black too. Stating the fact that it is a special edition, it has been wrapped in black Nevada leather. Very cool treats are also the Ansorajitto headliner, the updated audio system (that comes along with nine speakers) as well as the special badging all over.

Last but not least, the Blackout X3 is driven by the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It generates 184 horsepower (135 kW) and 379 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, thus making the X3 capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds. The top speed limiter wasn’t removed, so you might not expect to go beyond the 210 km/h (130 mph).

For all of you living in Japan, you can buy the BMW X3 Blackout Edition for ¥6,980,000, which is around $67,850USD. The model will have a limited run of 200 units.

They work hand-in-hand with the stainless steel downpipes and a titanium exhaust system. By the way the latter is fitted with two rear silencers and four 100 mm diameter tailpipes; and it also releases a very powerful and impressive soundtrack.

Performance-wise: the quarter mile is reached within 11.5 seconds, while the V-max has been unleashed to 300km/h.

Is there anything special about the new ALPINA models? You be the judge [w/video]

ALPINA B7 Bi-Turbo ALPINA’s flagship model, the B7 Bi-Turbo will make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. After some sweet feedback, designers feel confident enough to continue with the show-off. The B7 will be displayed alongside the B4 Bi-Turbo Convertible, also making its first official debut in UK. Both vehicles have a lot to show and both of them are worth reviewing. So, let’s start with the B7 Bi-Turbo.

ALPINA B7 Bi-Turbo

The whole lineup is known for delivering some massive power and the B7 is no exception: this one offers the vast 608hp (453kW) and 800Nm of torque from a 4.4-liter V8 power unit. Of course, the design team refined and improved the air suspension, damping, steering, gearbox, and basically everything that needs an upgrade, received one. Long story short: this is one hell of a vehicle and will proudly stand among its brothers.

ALPINA B7 Bi-Turbo

In terms of exterior styling, there is nothing groundbreaking: it has the same straight lines, aggressive stance and lovely proportions. Don’t get me wrong, the vehicle looks fantastic, but it seems the team focused its attention entirely towards the drivetrain and the performance. We got some improved stats from the wind tunnel tests, sweet ALPINA Blue illumination on the door sills, and the interior has become really comfortable with the ALPINA Blue mood lightning.

But all the improvements and additions do not change the fact that this one looks just as its predecessors. However, it does have a lovely ad. Check it out!

Goodwood will also witness the unveiling of the new B4 Bi-Turbo Convertible. With 410hp and 600Nm of torque, this one can almost fly through the streets and as it comes with impressive efficiency, we tend to like it. And the best part? You can run from 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds with the roof down. Woohoo, reminds me of my teenage dreams.

Based on BMW’s 4-series, the B4 Bi-Turbo has been refined for the past two years and the result is really impressive: the engineering team managed to bring us tons of comfort, efficiency and exclusivity. Already available, the B4 Convertible has a starting price of $72,767 USD.
