  • HplusB Design and the Fulminant Audi R8 V10

HplusB Design Audi R8 V102016 Audi R8 V10 debuted during this year’s Geneva Motor Show, changing the conception of styling and driving capabilities. Exactly this model was the choice of the tuners at HplusB Design. And here is why.

First and foremost, the latest generation R8 V10 is powered by the improved V10 5.2-liter FSI naturally aspirated engine. Of course, the specialists have chosen the Plus variant of the car, which produces no less than 610 HP (449 kW) and maximum torque of 560 Nm (413 lb-ft). Just to remind you, the base version of the R8 V10, generates 540 HP (397 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of maximum torque.

SEE ALSO: HplusB-Design Release Chrysler 300C “SRT” Version

Secondly, in terms of performance the Audi R8 needs exactly 3.5 seconds to sprint from standstill to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h). The Plus model covers this run in 3.2 seconds, thus hitting the 205 mph (330 km/h). And note that doing so, the car consumes only 11.8 liters per 100 km on average and emits 275 g/km of CO2. The R8 V10 Plus consumes 12.4 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 289 g/km.

    Wrapping by HplusB

HplusB Design Audi R8 V10 Details

HplusB Design specializes in wrapping, so it is no wonder that the main work done on the Audi includes a total car foiling.  By means of 3M-foiling, the ex-black bolide got a new “gown” in one-off Satin Canyon Copper hue. And it seems that this color is perfect for the Audi, isn’t it?

  • RECON MC8 is Here! Meet a Very Special 1000HP Audi R8 by Potter & Rich

RECON MC8 Front and Side View with girl Potter & Rich Audi R8 RECON MC8 is one of the most extreme vehicles I have seen recently. Besides the very special photo-shoot that the car received and the exclusive pictures, this Audi has a lot more to show. Proudly presented by Potter & Rich we can’t get enough of it!

Named “RECON MC8”, the vehicle wouldn’t be in this condition if it wasn’t the work of many specialists. The first company that took part in this project was mcchip-dkr. It actually developed the bolide and built it by hand. Spectacular, isn’t it?

    RECON MC8 and its Engine

RECON MC8 Rear and Side View

At the heart of the RECON MC8 is the serial V10 engine. However, it isn’t in its stock form, but has been charged by mcchip-dkr refitted compressor. In addition, the unit was also equipped with high performance pistons and forged conrod.

SEE ALSO: mcchip-dkr Mercedes-AMG GT S Likes Nothing Stocks

The result is as extraordinary as 1000HP… Well, almost 1000HP. The powerplant produces actually 950 HP (699 kW) with 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque! Well, that’s a thing, isn’t it? An interesting fact is that the software was developed on company’s own test stand, and in this setup, it was tested on German highways and on race tracks like the Ascari Race Resort in the Spanish Marbella and Nurburgring’s Northern loop.

What makes this tuning very special is what has happened next. First, the tuners decided to substitute the factory-set four-wheel-drive with a rear-wheel drive. This is for the sake of sportier behavior.

In addition, the Drexler differential lock warrants for a significantly better traction behavior during acceleration and in cornering limits. On the other hand, the seven-speed double coupling gear box brings the concentrated power quasi transition-free down to the road.

    Safety Comes First

    RECON MC8 Side View

The stopping power is ensured by the efficient Brembo motorsports braking system. But what is making the car safer is the one-off KW automotive-made motorsports chassis, paired with hydraulic air system (KW HLS).

Better Sound for the Sensitive Ears

RECON MC8 can also mesmerize you with the sound it makes when the engine is on. It is a result from the cooperation of both Capristo and mcchip-dkr teams. They have developed an innovative sound system that is fully adjustable.

    Exterior

Well, we must admit that the exterior is definitely the “Thing” that catches the eye (probably the girl on the pics below, too).  The external appearance of this special Audi R8 is characterized by the original Audi R8 LMS Ultra Carbon Body kit. It features impressive optics and low weight, great front flaps, front splitter and massive GT3 rear spoiler.

Wheels and tires have been changed too, and here the work is ought to the specialists at BBS motorsport. They have chosen wider carbon fiber wheels fitted with low-profiles: 11×18 inches with 305/30 ZR18 at the front and 13×18 inches with 335/30 ZR18 at the rear. But there is another wheel-tire combination offered, which is more suitable for ‘everyday life’. It is the three-part LV1 MB-Design rims in 9×20 inches with 245/30 ZR20 rubbers at the front and 11.5×21 with 305/25 ZR21 at the rear.

    Interior

    RECON MC8 Interior - Take a Look

RECON MC8 seems as comfortable as hell! Parts of the serial R8-V10-Plus have been coated by finest Alcantara in contrasting colors. The instrument cluster was completed by a speedometer extension of up to 430 kmph/270 mph.

And if you happen to like this car so much that you want to buy it, then we have good news for you: it is currently on sale. There is no specific pricing announced, but be prepared for something…epic. And don’t forget to enjoy these awesome pictures in the gallery below!

  • Audi Develops the Best Laser Spot High‑beam Lights For Audi R8

Lighting technologies like LED daytime running lights, Matrix LED headlights and laser spot high‑beam lights represent some of the most pivotal values of Audi. Now the brand’s top sports car R8 is receiving new technologically-advanced LED headlights that can be optionally supplemented by a laser high beam lighting module.

This high – performance automobile is known as the automotive beast which establishes new standards among other sports cars. Thanks to the newly – developed LEDs, it conveys even more saturated tone of sophistication, sportiness and progressiveness and becomes a prime example of what truly stunning vehicle should be. As an option, Audi can also equip its Audi R8 with a laser spot as the high-beam headlight. Each headlight produces an intense light energy due to the implementation of one laser module that functions with four high‑intensity laser diodes. This module packs the four intense blue‑light laser beams and after that a phosphor converter alters the blue light into pure white light. All lighting functions are produced with 37 LEDs per headlight. If we compare the new laser high-beam headlights to LED high-beams, the first ones attain almost twice the lighting range.

The laser spot for the high‑beam light made its premiere back in the summer of 2014. It was used in the Audi R8 LMX, a limited edition model of the previous R8 model series.

  • Next-generation Audi R8 with 400-km-plus Range

Audi has confirmed that the second generation Audi R8 will finally make its long-awaited debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. The car is said to receive an all-electric transmission which promises a range from 400 km (248 miles) to 500 km on a single charge. Not bad at all taking into consideration the fact that the previous all-electric R8 e-tron range was 220km.

The mid-engine platform is shared with that of the Lamborghini Huracán. In order to reduce mass, it features an aluminum frame and carbon-fiber pats. There are rumors which point to a 5.2-liter V-10 naturally aspirated engine , able to produce around 600 horses. Audi is said to offer its naturally aspirated V-8 generating around 450 HP for the 2016 Audi R8 as well.

Additionally, the second-generation supercar won’t get a manual transmission, because, as Audi board member for technical development Ulrich Hackenberg acknowledged: “double-clutch gearboxes are extremely sporty, and if you want to drive extremely sporty and fast, for the record of your personal lap time, you will need a double-clutch.”

Prices and official performance figures are yet to be announced.

  • 2015 R8 Competition is the Most Potent Production Audi

2015-Audi-R8-Competition-THUMB2015 Audi R8 Competition which is one of the most powerful and fastest production cars is set to debut at the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. And this is what we needed today to pump some excitement in our blood.  This aggressive car will be only an exclusively available in the United States and will go to no more than 60 lucky customers. The strictly limited edition R8 Competition redefines the iconic R8 with 570 hp (420 kW) peak performance and racing-inspired, lightweight matte carbon elements.

In fact, this power rating makes the newcomer the closest road car to R8 LMS ultra race car. The R8 Competition is powered by the 5.2L V10 engine which is coupled to seven-speed S tronic transmission. The car also features a sport exhaust system with black high-gloss tailpipes.

This is a perfect combination, which will accelerate the car from standstill to 60 mph in mere 3.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 199 mph. Note that these numbers make the R8 Competition the fastest R8 ever offered.

Audi has thought about the exterior and gave it striking matte carbon exterior elements consisting of a fixed rear spoiler, engine bay, mirror housings, flics, side blades, front spoiler and rear diffusor. Of course, thanks to the utilization of the lightweight material, the weight of the car is lowered which results in greater downforce.

Gloss black wheels with 305 cross-section rear tires and ceramic brakes with anodized red brake calipers make a stunning contrast to the matte carbon fiber elements. The interior of the car is also adorned by carbon carbon fiber. The material can be seen on the center console and illuminated “R8 competition” door sill inlays.

Since a total of 60 units will be produced, customers can begin ordering 2015 Audi R8 Competition as of early November. The deliveries are expected to beginning in 2015. We definitely dig this unique vehicle and the fact that it has brought some of the most important characteristics of the R8 to a new level. What are your thoughts on this?
