  • This Three-Door Audi A3 is Sportier but More Comfortable than Ever

I love when great work is combined with exceptional photography. As I was starring at this picture I actually noticed that it is something I could talk about. As you can see this unique Audi A3 looks so athletic and have this masculine appearance. The reason for this is the work of the tuners at ap Sportfahrwerke.

The car is actually one of those who you can usually see rolling on the city streets of Europe, because of its small dimensions, efficiency and performance capability. This is one of the best marketed models Audi has produced up to date and in my opinion it will continue to do so.

The range of the A3 engines include the top 2.0 liter TFSI producing 300 hp (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque and sprinting from 0 to 100 in 4.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), the 1.4 TFSI ultra pumping out 140 hp (110 kW) and the 1.6 TDI with 110 hp (81 kW). The power units are available in all four body versions of the A3-line: the three door model, five door Sportback, Sedan and Cabriolet.

SEE ALSO: Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept – 525HP and 600Nm

There is even an A3 Clubposrt Quattro Concept, powered by the 2.5 liter five-cylinder TFSI engine with the astonishing 525 hp (386 kW) and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).

    audi-a3-clubsport-quattro-concept-910

But what could the specialists at ap Sportfahrwerke do for this unstoppable car. Obviously they took its three-door variant and made it even sportier by bringing it closer to the ground. They have done this via in-house made suspension springs and coilovers.

The coilover kit takes care for an increased driving behavior, while the suspension kit delivers an adjustable lowering of up to 60 millimeter at the front axle and 55 millimeter at the rear axle. The result is that after these minimal changes, the A3 responds even more direct to steering movements. And despite the sporty lowering, the car attains its sufficient comfort.

  • Audi e-diesel is the First Fuel with No Environmental Impact

Audi e-diesel Audi is making a step further in the development of CO2-neutral fuels. The company announced that a new plant, based in Dresden, Germany, has initiated the production of high-quality synthetic fuel. The diesel is made from water, CO2 and green power, so there is no need for mineral oil. This is actually great success for Audi, since it advances with its environmental program significantly.

In this program, partner of the automaker is Dresden energy technology corporation “sunfire”. It is also plant operator and uses green power to create liquid fuel. As mentioned, for this process the only raw materials needed are CO2 and water. The first material comes straight from a biogas facility and it is extracted from the ambient air.

The development of Audi e-diesel promises fuel based on CO2 that will literally have no impact on the climate. The use of CO2 as a raw material is also an opportunity for other industries.

But how the production of Audi e-diesel happens? It features several steps. In the first one, water is heated up and then broken down into hydrogen and oxygen. In two further steps, the hydrogen reacts with the CO2 under pressure and at high temperature. As a result of the reaction we have liquid called blue crude.

At last, the blue crude can be refined in order to turn-up into the end product Audi e-diesel. As a synthetic fuel, it is free from sulfur and aromatic hydrocarbons. This fuel is also suitable for combination with fossil diesel or for a use as a fuel in its own. And everything sounds very promising, doesn’t it?

  • KW Coilovers for the New Audi A3 Notchback Sedan [VIDEO]

The market and automobile innovative leader KW has been succeeding in providing Audi with the best upgrades possible. Now the tuner’s most recent target is Audi A3. The positive launch of the four-door sedan is taking a level up and climbs one step up in its segment thanks to the new KW coilover suspension kits.

There are three different coilover variants, each of which offers thrilling handling and driving dynamics. The Variant 1 KW coilover kit equips the new Audi A3 notchback sedan with extra rebound damping adjustment and adds a significant value on a variable lowering. With Variant 2 and Variant 3 (the latter comes with separate rebound and compression adjustment), customers are enabled to adapt the damper setup even more depending on their preferences. Thus, the KW coilover suspension Variant 2 allows the driver to meet his or her individual driving demand by changing the handling and ride comfort with 16 exact clicks with the integrated rebound damping adjustment.  Variant 3, on the other hand, allows via the separately adjustable compression damping with twelve clicks to take influence on rolling motions of the body, without having the need to alter the rebound damping.

What makes the new KW suspension kit so special and very desirable is the fact that the rebound and compression damping can be adjusted separately from each other. All three versions of the coilovers are made from stainless steel. With them, there is available a continuous lowering of up to 60 mm. As a result, at the front axle, the German TÜV-tested adjustment range for the gorgeous Audi A3 sedan is between 30 and 60 mm and at the rear axle between 30 to 55 mm.
