The tuning company Techart has created an individualization program for Porsche 911 Carrera 4. The already available aerodynamic kit for this Porsche is complemented by new valve-controlled Techart Exhaust System Racing with central outflow, Techart Noselift System, carbon fibre interior styling packages in new colours as well as illuminated Techart door entry guards.
To go further into details, the valve-controlled Exhaust System Racing with central outflow replaces Porsche’s series-standard 4-pipe one hence delivering more aggressive and sporty look to the vehicle. The exhaust system is managed via the sport button on the centre console and it also contributes for the astounding acoustic performance of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S.
In addition, this exhaust system can be utilized even when closed under full load across the entire speed range. Also available here are the Techart Sport Muffler Racing and the valve-controlled Techart Sport Exhaust System combined with dual Techart Sport Tailpipes.
At the front is visible the Techart Noselift System which adds 60 mm ground clearance at front spoiler by raising the vehicle level. The system can be activated both when the car is still or in motion. The vehciel automatically lowers itself at speeds of over 60 km/h.
Furthermore, the two-part Techart Front Spoiler I with integrated splitter decreases the lift on the front axis of the Porsche by 5 kg at a speed of 140 km/h. Next, the Techart Rear Spoiler II creates an additional 17.5 kg of downforce at the same speed when combined with the Techart Diffuser on the rear of the vehicle.
Two Aero Wings is built into the front air inlets and they give the 911 Carrera a dynamic shaft outline. Techart Side Skirts are positioned at vehicle’s wing, while Techart trims for headlights and side mirrors deliver more visual highlights.
Another highlight here is that this program includes Formula IV light-alloy wheel in 5-twin-spoke design, in dimensions 20- and 21-inch. The weight reduced TECHART Formula III forged wheel are offered optionally.
The transformation continues inside. Throughout the interior can be seen new illuminated Techart Aluminium Door Entry Guards, ergonomically shaped 3-spokes Multifunctional Sport Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifters, Aluminium Sport Pedals and TECHART Aluminium Foot Rest.
Also present are the decorative stitching, backrests for sport seats Plus in leather, safety belts or Interior Styling Packages in coloured carbon fibre. The dashboard instruments were also refined and now include easily readable Techart dials, harmonized rings and Sport Chrono device in leather.
Porsche has published a new video of the 911 Carrera S making hot lap at the world’s toughest race track – Nurburgring Nordschleife.
The car is driven by Timo Kluck, who managed to close a lap in 7 minutes 37.9 seconds, which is slightly faster than the previous 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo, which needed 7 minutes and 39 seconds to complete a lap around Nurburgring.
The new 2013 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter flat-six engine delivering 400HP (294 kW) and 440Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque. 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 302 km/h (188 mph).
The car is not just fast, it is astonishingly quick.
TopCar has published several pictures of their new styling package for the latest Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S model. It will make its official debut at the Auto Show Top Marques Monaco in April 2013. Also the company plans to create a wide-body version, after the official presentation of the Porsche 991 Turbo.
The whole package includes: front and rear bumpers, a bonnet, side skirts, front and rear fender extenders and a spoiler. All items will be produced by vacuum forming from carbon fiber and Kevlar fabric.
The cars gain higher capacity due to a TOPCAR partner – the famous German company 9ff.
Each car also have ultra-light forged wheels ADV.1 Wheels.
Porsche will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic 911 RS 2.7 at Techno Classica, in Essen, Germany, from March 21-25.
Techno Classica is the world’s largest trade fair dedicated to classic cars, and this year’s event will see Porsche Classic showcase its wide range of customer services on a stand more than twice as large as last year’s.
To mark the occasion, two racing versions of the 911 Carrera RS from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart are on display. The first is a 1973 911 Carrera RSR delivering 330HP, which is joined by the ultimate RS variant, the 1974 911 Carrera RSR Turbo. It produces 500HP from a small 2.1 liter turbocharged flat-six engine.
The RS-themed display is completed by a 911 Carrera RS 2.7 road car, which has been restored by the Porsche Classic workshop specialists. Also on show is an early Porsche 911, which is currently being restored for a customer at Porsche Classic.
1973 Porsche 911 RSR
Experts from Porsche Classic will be on hand to provide advice and practical assistance to visitors regarding the preservation and maintenance of their historic vehicles. They will also provide information on the availability of Porsche Classic original spare parts. Especially noteworthy, for example, is the coveted “orange” Porsche bonnet badge of the 911 models from 1965 to 1973, which has been not been available since 1974. In 2012, this will be re-released once more.
Together with a Porsche Museum information stand, Porsche Exclusive & Tequipment will also be represented on the spacious 600 plus square metre stand. A custom-equipped 911 Carrera of the current 991 model series is being used to showcase the comprehensive personalisation options.
Porsche Design Driver’s Selection rounds off the varied offering on the Porsche stand with a wide selection of Porsche.
The new 2012 Porsche 911 will be available in UK showrooms from this weekend (December 17). One lucky participant’s 911 will be turned from virtual dream into reality. You have just to specify your ideal new 911 using the on-line Porsche car configurator and enter your details before midnight on January 31 2012.
The winner will be invited to the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone to drive their perfect 911 on a half-day programme next summer.
2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has superb standard equipment including leather interior, sports seats, automatic climate control, Bi-Xenon headlights, 4.6” colour touch-screen Porsche Communication Management with satellite navigation, a universal audio interface offering MP3 connectivity, Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and a 3-year warranty.
That’s why the price is not less than £71 449 for a standard car with the least powerful engine.
The Carrera S adds 20” alloy wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with rear LSD (limited slip differential). You can enjoy all these extra plus a mighty 3.8 liter flat six engine.
The engine range includes 3.4-litre flat-six with 350PS (257 kW), direct injection and optional PDK. It returns astonishing 34.4mpg on combined cycle. The mighty 3.8 liter flat-six for Carrera S boasts 400PS (294 KW). It also can be mated to the optional PDK and returns 32.4 mpg on combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 205 g/km.
The performance is brutal – 4.6 seconds to 100 km/h for Carrera and just 4.3 seconds for Carrera S. These times can be cut 0.2sec with the optional Sport Chrono Pack.
Cars & Art has introduced their tuned Porsche 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. The name of the project is “Pretty Boy” and you can see, why!
The mighty Porsche is completely foiled in matte-white colour, but it also features some nice light blue elements. The tuned Carrera stands on enormous 20” OZ Racing Ultraleggera HLT wheels finished in gold paint and fitted with performance Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tires. There are also front and tail covers and the GT3 spoiler.
The stance is unique thanks to H&R lowering suspension, which cut 35 mm of the ride height. Last, but not least, Cars & Art has installed a sports exhaust system with flap control.
The Porsche 997 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is powered by a 3.8 liter flat-six engine with 360PS (265 kW) at 6600RPM and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) at 4600RPM. The performance is brutal – from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h (190 mph).
The power is put on the road through viscous clutch all-wheel-drive system, which can send between 5% and 40% of engine torque to the front wheels as needed.
Porsche is proud to present the new 911 Carrera, a completely new generation of the iconic coupe that has been acclaimed as one of the world’s benchmark sports cars since its launch in 1963.
Tradition meets modernity
True to the 911 tradition, the distinctive Porsche design language exudes power and elegance. The unmistakable silhouette still catches the eye while incorporating new, exciting contours and precisely designed details; a 100mm longer wheelbase for improved stability and greater interior space; front and rear overhangs are shorter, maintaining the compact footprint that has been a longstanding 911 attribute; the sporting stance is emphasised by the lower roof line and a wider front track increases on-road presence further still while raising the renowned chassis dynamics.
The rear-mounted, flat six cylinder engine is an equally symbolic component of the 911 identity; and behind the rear axle of the new car lies an uprated range of powerful, efficient and evocative ‘boxer’ engines. The 911 Carrera is powered by a new 3.4-litre engine developing 350 hp, and the Carrera S features a 400 hp version of the familiar 3.8-litre. These new engines offer performance improvements for both models. The 3.4-litre Carrera with PDK accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.6 sec, 0.1 sec quicker than the prior model. Pressing the Sport Plus button on the optional Sport Chrono Pack cuts that to 4.4 sec. The 3.8-litre Carrera S with PDK can accelerate from 0- 62 mph in 4.3 sec (Sport Plus 4.1 sec), 0.2sec quicker than its predecessor.
All-new lightweight body
Principle among the innovative steps forwards is the all-new, lightweight body, featuring intelligent aluminium-steel composite construction. It is responsible for a significant proportion of the vehicle weight reduction of up to 45 kg. The body structure also delivers significantly greater rigidity, and aerodynamic optimisation – including a wider, variably extending rear spoiler – has reduced the lift generated by the new 911 Carrera while retaining an impressive overall drag factor.
Innovative chassis technology
That the new 911 offers better acceleration in a straight line goes without saying, but it also offers top performance at an unprecedented level across the entire dynamic repertoire. In addition to the longer wheelbase, the greater agility, precision and driving stability are based, among other things, on the wider front track, a new rear axle and new electro-mechanical power steering.
Depending on the model, there are other standard or optional active control systems available as well that further enhance the driving dynamics. That is especially true for the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) active roll stabilisation system, available for the first time on the 911 Carrera S. The system reduces body roll when cornering, with the result that the tyres are always in the optimal position relative to the road surface and thus able to transmit higher lateral forces. Consequently, maximum cornering speeds are increased, and even faster lap times on racing circuits are possible.
Exterior design
The familiar athletic appearance of the 911 is given further dynamism with a 100mm longer wheelbase, reduced height, and up to 20-inch diameter alloy wheels. At the same time, the typically compact exterior dimensions have been retained. Seen from the front, the eye is drawn to the trademark wide-arched wings, emphasising the wider front track and making the new 911 Carrera models adopt a particularly sporting stance on the road. The redesigned exterior mirrors are now mounted on the upper edge of the door and not as before on the mirror triangle. Not only is this aerodynamically advantageous, it also emphasises the new design line and visual impression of width.

Interior design
To complement the modern exterior, the Porsche designers created an interior style which takes its cue from that of the Porsche Carrera GT. The driver is now even more closely integrated with the cockpit thanks to the centre console rising up to the front with the high-mounted shift lever – or PDK gear selector – located close to the steering wheel in typical motorsport fashion. Classic Porsche style elements are also to be found inside, just as they are on the outside. For example, the instrument cluster with five round instruments, with the central dial naturally the rev counter. On the right is a new, high resolution multi-function screen, just one of the comfort features added to meet evolving customer demands.

Porsche Intelligent Performance
Setting the standard in its class, as it has for generations, the new 911 Carrera and Carrera S raise the performance and efficiency standard to new levels. Fuel consumption and emissions of all versions are up to 16 per cent lower compared with its predecessors. Among other things, this is achieved by systems and functions such as auto start/stop, thermal management, electrical system recuperation, the world’s first seven-speed manual transmission and – in conjunction with the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) – a ‘coasting’ function that decouples the engine for enhanced fuel efficiency when the throttle is closed.
The new electro-mechanical power steering system offers not only the typical precision and feedback expected of a Porsche, but also helps to increase efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. For example, the 911 Carrera with the new 350 hp (257 kW) 3.4-litre direct injection engine and optional PDK returns 34.4mpg Combined based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) – 6mpg less than its predecessor. Also, at 194 g/km CO2, it is the first Porsche sports car to sit below 200 g/km CO2. In the case of the Carrera S, with its 400 hp 3.8-litre direct injection engine, economy when paired with the optional PDK is increased by 14 per cent, or 5 mpg, to 32.4mpg Combined despite 15 hp more power. That equates to CO2 emissions of 205 g/km.
Evidently, it has therefore been possible in the new 911 Carrera to extend yet further the span of apparently contradictory attributes such as performance and efficiency, sportiness and everyday usability that has always typified the Porsche 911. It could be said that the new 911 Carrera is thus more of a 911 than ever.
