Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo front view Infiniti has finally lifted the virtual veil of the Concept Vision Gran Turismo: a car intended to be driven by those who have a Play Station and playing the Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) game. The model will be available for download from today and it envisions an Infiniti car from the future. Hopefully – not the very distant one.

The high performance concept vehicle was created through an intimate work with the creators of the famous car-game. If you remember, the project has stated initially with an ambitious global Infiniti Design competition, which set the rule to “design the pure Infiniti GT car.”

The best model was the winning one and it was created by company’s design team in Beijing. As we can see it features the characteristic design of the bran, a powerful shape, sensual and audacious surfaces and a lot of performance spirit.

The process of the design began with the making of hand sketching, which were then refined digitally, and the refined by hand sculpting. The last step was the final digital refinement. In addition, the people in the project were so involved that they made thorough examinations and calculations of technical features like the aerodynamics and engine performance.

It was estimated that the front mid-ship/trans-axle powertrain enables 45:55 front/rear weight balance. In terms of aerodynamics, the under-floor airflow control, front and back diffusers, and uniquely shaped rear spoiler allow this concept to show higher performance.

Volvo to invade the small car segment: Concept 40.1 and 40.2 have been just revealed!

This is how the Swedish brand is making a big step forward by introducing its intention to invade the small car segment. Volvo’s global small car strategy is to make vehicle just like the here presented concepts: with bold exterior and interior design, with industry-leading connectivity, electrification and autonomous driving.

Furthermore, the two concepts are the first models which have been built around the new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). In addition, the small car strategy will be the essential element in company’s ongoing global operational and financial transformation as well as ambitious revitalization plan. The goal is to reposition the brand and to make it possible to compete with other global premium manufacturers. This is about to happen within the next four years.

What has been also revealed is that the new small car range will include a pure battery electric vehicle and a Twin Engine plug-in hybrid powertrain options. This will contribute to Volvo’s commitment to sell a total of up to 1 million electrified cars by 2025 wordlwide.

Most probably, the cars will be driven with Volvo’s new T5 Twin Engine. It is based on the company’s 3-cylinder petrol engine fitted with 7-speed dual clutch transmission coupled to an electric motor. The Twin Engine All-Wheel Drive approach will be substitutes with the more accessible front wheel-based system for the smaller cars.

The new vehicle will be also equipped with a full range of innovative connectivity services. This will include world’s most advanced standard package of safety features. The Swedish company promises a ground breaking Scandinavian interior design, too.

For those impatiently wanting to have the new small cars from Volvo, we have good news. The fist 40 series models are expected to go into production in nest year.

Sutton’s Ford Mustang CS700 improved to deliver the perfect ride and up to 700hp

Clive Sutton Ford Mustang CS700 front view Clive Sutton, the famous dealer, has just unveiled Sutton Bespoke tuning packages for the right-hand drive Ford Mustang. They transform the muscle icon thoroughly and give it power of up to 700 hp. The unique individual program comprises from a wide range of equipment, which enhances car’s performance, handling and styling.

The tuner has made an emphasis over the upgraded suspension, because it delivers sharper on-the-limit handling, but it does not sacrifice the comfort over the broken road surfaces. Called Sutton Bespoke Power Packages, they offer three specifications CS350, CS500 and the supercharged CS700.

While the first one has been developed for the 2.3-litre EcoBoost model, the latter two were made for Ford’s 5.0-litre V8 equipped variants. Precisely, the Mustang with the CS350 Power Package has an improvement of its output of up to 330bhp. The CS500 Power Package incorporates an upgraded cold-air intake, thus making it possible to lift peak power to 440bhp.

At the top of the range sits the CS700 Power Package, which dramatically increases the peak power of the standard V8, lifting it from 416bhp to 645bhp . How this was made possible? The tuner achieved it through the addition of a Whipple supercharger, upgraded intercooler and a new quad-tailpipe active exhaust system. And by the way, the other two packs also get the latter. Note that performance can be taken to an even higher level with the help of larger throttle body, uprated injectors and a different pulley. As a result, the peak power is taken to over 700bhp!

All packs include Active Exhaust Control, which is activated by a switch located on the centre console. How does the Mustang benefit from it? The system allows the driver to adjust the volume and tone of the exhaust sound, choosing from Touring, Sport, Track and Custom settings.

In addition, customers can specify handling modifications that complement the power upgrades. Precisely, the Sutton Bespoke Ride Package features KW coilovers and adjustable springs at the front, matched dampers at the rear. The result is 30mm lower height.

As an option, Sutton developed the Appearance Package, which includes a carbon fiber decklid panel, chin spoiler, rear wing and side skirts, painted wing mirrors, gloss black ‘Pony’ emblem for the V8 , gloss black ‘5.0’ wing motifs.

There is a Brake Package, too. It adds uprated discs with two-piece rotors that reduce mass and improve heat management. The standard alloys are changed with 20-inch, 10-spoke custom finished gloss black Vossen rims.

For those who want their Mustang to look even more individual, the tuner has created an Individual Options list. It includes bespoke carbon fibre bonnet with functional ‘ram air’ scoop, carbon fibre rear window louvers, four-piece carbon fiber dashboard for the interior and a high-power audio system.

Acura team reveals a second-gen of automated vehicle. Details here!

2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid Acura has finally revealed its second-gen automated development vehicle in California, the modified version of RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD luxury sedan. This RLX has been geared with fresh suite of radar, Lidar, camera and GPS sensors, better-performing CPUs and GPUs, improved cabling, heat management and circuitry. And all this topped with new and more flexible and intelligent software algorithms, How cool is that?

This special vehicle is designed to achieve high reliability and flexibility by fusing ovelapping information from various sensors at the same time. Furthermore, this idea, known as sensor fusion, allows engineers to validate information from each signal with higher degree of accuracy than can be obtained from only one or from each one independently. In other words, the vehicle’s radar sensors are adept at detecting relative positions and velocity of off-board objects with impressive accuracy, while the camera system is best suited to detect objects in any size and shape. As you might already know, similar system is already applied to various Acura sedans and SUVs: yeas, you guessed it, I am talking about the AcuraWatch.

Furthermore, the vehicle will be tested by Honda Research Institute USA at GoMentum Station, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The station contains 20 miles of paved and city-like roadway grids, buildings and some more urban infrastructure imitations.

The test program is scheduled to continue until 2020.

Lincoln has launched the ad campaign “it’s like that”, starring Matthew McConaughey [w/videos]

Lincoln announces three new video ads in the new “it’s like that” campaign, once again with movie star Matthew McConaughey. This time the focus is on the 2017 Lincoln MKZ and the team definitely has a lot to show to the audience.

Filmed with style and tone that conveys exhilaration and visceral feeling of driving, the new commercials bring the attention back to the MKZ, the premium midsize sedan, also known to be Lincoln’s best-selling vehicle since it arrived in showrooms three years ago.

DMC Ferrari 488 GTB ORSO offers more power and charm than you could expect!

DMC Ferrari 488 GTB ORSO front and side view DMC Ferrari 488 GTB ORSO is the newest project by the German specialists at the luxury tuning studio. The choice of the car used as a basis is not accidental. In fact, when Ferrari debuted the 488 GTB, there was equal amount of people who liked it and other who didn’t. The reason for this controversy was of course, the twin turbo charged V8 engine. It was away from the classic natural aspirated engine. This is why, the tuning experts decided to improve the aerodynamics as well as the power of the Ferrari. As a result, the DMC 488 GTB Orso was born!

There are two steps in this customization. The first one is the visual modification, and the second – the ECU optimization of the V8. It is good to know, that the production output numbers, which the unit generates are 670 hp (610 kW) and 760 Newton meters (560 lb-ft) of torque. So let’s see what has happened.

The subtle change of the design began with the application of the elegant Stage 1 kit. It comprises of a sword and a spoiler for the front bumper. The latter is enhanced with vertical fins. At the sides we see new aero skirts, while at the rear there is a brand new diffuser and a rear wing. DMC ensures that these changes not only contribute for the visual improvement of the Ferrari, but also support the uprated engine.

The next step was to use an ECU reprogramming for the V8 unit and to replace the standard exhaust system with an in-house made one, so that 488 GTB could deliver more than enough. As a matter of fact, the engineers achieved an addition of 118 hp and 105 Nm. If you make the math, this results in a total of 788 hp (580 kW) and 865 Nm (638 lb-ft) of torque!

Although there aren’t any pictures of the interior, DMC says that it will be imbued with the finest Italian leathers and carbon fiber. Let’s not forget the wheels set up, which after the conversion is 20-inch lightweight alloys at the front and 21-inch at the rear.

There are actually four trim levels in the 2016 Infiniti Q50 3.0t model line-up. Each is equipped with the new 4-cylinder 3.0-liter V6 twin turbo engine, which produces no less than 300 horsepower (220 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. With the new Q50 3.0t models, the entire 2016 Q50 lineup can now proudly offer the choice of four powerplants and 12 models.

Other updates for the Q50 lineup (that are also included here) comprise of Direct Adaptive Steering system and driver-selectable Dynamic Digital Suspension. In terms of design, the new models will feature a silver chrome “S” badge on the trunk. Vilner celebrates 20th Anniversary with killing it project based on Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake

Vilner Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake Anniversary Edition front view Vilner has released a “killing-it” project to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the studio. The car under the spotlight is Shelby Mustang GT500 Super Snake. And given the fact that it is a very special project, it has also received an extremely good treatment. As the tuning experts say, the reasons for the exclusivity of this car are several. The first one is that it is the first car that will leave their garage with the “Vilner Studio 20 Years Anniversary” metal printed stamp. Even better it is first of more to come.

2013 Shelby Mustang Super Snake

This is the model used as a basis for the customization work of the specialists at the Art Studio Vilner. The muscle power hidden under the hood comes from the 5.8-liter V8 unit producing the colossal 850 hp (625 kW) and 830 Nm (613 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is fitted with a Kenne Bell mechanical supercharger with water cooling putting onto the rear wheels the massive 747 hp (550 kW).

To make things a little bit spicier, we should also inform you that this particular model is actually the 57^th example out of 500 ever produced! It is therefore no surprise that the owner has chosen one of the best places in Europe (even in the world) to customize its Cobra, and make it more than individual.

The Big Changes

The tuners have changes almost everything inside, keeping only the silver panel on the dashboard, the door levers, the gear shift knob and the original serial number plate. As you can see on the before and after pictures, the surfaces have been mainly covered with a beige leather, black Alcantara and varnished carbon fiber.

Alcantara treatment has been given even to the steering column box, the transmission tunnel, the door panels as well as the seats. Speaking of the latter, they have received red “Shelby GT500 Super Snake” embroidery. Above it we see carbon-fiber-made holes for the sports seat-belts. The same red color can be seen also on the seat belts, strips of the seats, contrasting stitching on the door panels and dashboard, as well as on the central marker of the steering wheel.

Through a flocking method, Vilner has updated the A-pillars, the indicators for pressure fuel oil and compressor located in the left column, the plastic surfaces in the trunk subwoofer and even the glove compartment.

And although the interior changes please the eye, there is internal work that can not be seen at a first glance… or even at second. We are speaking about the extensive silencing program done on this Shelby Mustang. The quieter moments inside were achieved with the help of special panels and pads mounted at key locations in the cabin.

At last but not least, the emblematic for the Vilner special bag has been added to this project, too. In fact, it is not one, but two. The beige leather, the contrasts stitching, the red embroidery with the Super Snake logo – it is all there.

The lightweight 2016 Ford GT becomes even lighter: there are carbon-fiber wheels already available

2016 Ford GT with carbon wheels The carbon-fiber-bodied Ford GT will be available with an optional all-new carbon-fiber wheels for further weight reduction and handling optimization. With collaborating partner Carbon Revolution, Ford presents the next-gen of fiber and resin technology that will probably change the world of technology.

These optional wheels will be offered with matte or glossy finish, allowing the natural weave of the carbon-fiber to show through. Also, the finishes perfectly match the rest of the exposed carbon fiber components on the new Ford GT: sills, fascia and extractor.

The standard wheels of the Ford GT are 20-inch lightweight aluminum beauties, but the new and optional carbon-fiber wheels are not only the same size, but are also structurally stiffer and save about 1kg of unsprung weight per wheel, reducing the inertia with about 25 per cent. Cool, right.

All this weight saving also reduces the suspension workload and enhances the consistent contact with the road surface, which further improves traction and driver control. And with the less energy required to accelerate or turn the wheels, the vehicle will benefit from improved dynamics and fuel efficiency.

Rolls-Royce celebrates the Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé with Zenith Collection as they leave the stage

Rolls-Royce Phantom Zenith Collection celebrates two of the end of the production of most exclusive and celebrated luxury vehicles: the Phantom Drophead Coupé and the Phantom Coupé. The bespoke collection has been conceived with the aim to create the best examples ever of those two models, thus making them collectors’ pieces. Only 50 units will be produced and of course, they have already been commissioned.

The Bespoke design team at Rolls-Royce has considered every possible detail to create the perfect examples. Literally. An instance is how the split-tailgate has been improved with the addition of an engineered companion to a perfect touring day’s picnic. Precisely, the picture below, shows how a glass shelf, housed within the rear section of the tailgate can be effortlessly used in terms of serving Champagne. There is no question whether the team added a champagne fridge. It is actually large enough to hold two standard bottles and eight Rolls-Royce glasses.

Next under the spotlight is the Rolls-Royce Picnic Hampe, which is a unique accessory. On opening the doors, occupants are greeted with an intricately executed nod to the history of these remarkable motor cars. These include laser etching to the armrest cappings, showing locations of the global debut of the experimental version of each car.

Everything is in the details. The central fascia drawer has been utilized to house a priceless unique identification number. Further grabbing the attention are the cupholders, machined from aluminium.

Note that at the front the speedometer has great design, featuring brushed steel. What is more the interior trim scheme uses light leather colour for the front seats and darker for the rear. At last, the Starlight Headliner has been given a subtle Bespoke treatment to reflect this.

The exterior makes emphasis on the contrast with the two exterior colors: the Madeira Red and Jubilee Silver Phantom Coupé. More defined contrast can be made via Midnight Blue and Artic White.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupés are currently in the making. 2016 will be their final year of production, making a total of seven generations since the birth of the model. Still, if you are extremely fast, there might be a chance of commissioning one of the very last examples.
