  • Kia UK announces pricing and specifications for New XCeed

Kia has revealed UK pricing and specifications for the new XCeed compact crossover as order books open for the upgraded model.

The new XCeed has received a range of mid-lifecycle updates three years after it first went on-sale. In that time, it has become the best-selling variant in the four-strong Ceed model family, and now accounts for 51 per cent of all Ceed sales in the UK. It has also made up 10 per cent of total Kia UK sales so far this year, with 5,652 units registered in the UK in the first half of the year.

UK customer deliveries for the new Kia XCeed commence from the end of Q3 2022, with prices starting from £22,995 for petrol models and £32,595 for the low-emissions PHEV model.

    Mid-life updates to popular crossover

The new Kia XCeed has received a series of product enhancements for 2023, including a bold new exterior design, an enhanced interior, and the addition of a new ‘GT-Line S’ grade to the line-up. These changes make the XCeed an even more enticing proposition in the popular C-crossover segment.

The UK line-up incorporates a new ‘GT-Line S’ grade for the first time, designed to evoke a sense of sportiness, similar to other ‘GT-Line’ models in the existing Kia and Ceed line-ups. The new ‘GT-Line S’ grade sits at the top of the new XCeed range, replacing the earlier ‘4’ grade. With a generous level of standard equipment along with new GT-Line body kit, unique 18-inch alloy wheels for exterior styling, and GT-Line seats and steering wheel. The new XCeed also incorporates Kia’s latest driver assist, connectivity and infotainment systems for maximum everyday usability, enjoyment and occupant safety.

Two powertrains on offer to UK customers

In the UK, the new XCeed offers the same choice of two powertrains as found on the pre-facelift model, including a low-emissions PHEV model.

The anticipated best-seller in the line-up is the 1.5-litre T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) engine, paired with a six-speed manual and producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm torque.

The engine features continuously variable valve duration technology, enabling it to shift continuously between combustion cycles to maximise performance and efficiency in different driving conditions.

The new XCeed PHEV carries over the same plug-in hybrid system, based on a 1.6-litre GDi (gasoline direct injection), paired with a 44.5 kW electric motor and 8.9 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack. It applies its combined 139 bhp and 265 Nm torque to the road via a smooth-shifting six-speed double-clutch transmission (DCT). The new XCeed PHEV is capable of travelling up to 30 miles on electric power.

WLTP fuel efficiency and emissions data for all variants, as well as (Benefit-in-Kind) BIK information for the business-friendly PHEV model, will be revealed closer to the car’s on-sale date.

Versions with the 1.5-litre T-GDi engine are available in ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘GT-Line S’ grades. The ‘2’ grade, priced from £22,995, offers a generous specification as standard. This includes:

  • Ringbrothers Ford Mustang Convertible CAGED

Ringbrothers, the world-renowned custom car builder and parts manufacturer, has unveiled its latest creation — a custom-built 1964.5 Ford Mustang convertible known as “CAGED.” The design objective was to subtly evolve and modernize the original Mustang’s lines and proportions while honoring the aesthetic of Ford’s original pony car. The result is a modern appeal and unbridled performance mating the design of a 20th-century icon with the technology of the 21st.

Born from an original 1964.5 Mustang convertible, nearly every component is a Ringbrothers-built one-off piece, with the only factory Mustang parts being the center caps for the wheels. The Ringbrothers team conducted extensive metalwork converting the Roadster Shop FAST TRACK chassis back into a unibody, as well as widening and lengthening the bodywork by one inch. The BASF Glasurit “Burgundy Brave” finish was then applied, and all the chrome and stainless-steel trim was treated with Cerakote Titanium C-105P

    2023 Genesis G90 - Front Angle

Today, Genesis announced U.S. pricing for its upcoming flagship sedan, the 2023 G90. Starting from an MSRP of $88,400, G90 represents the ultimate expression of the brand’s design, bringing the latest technologies and comfort amenities to the Genesis lineup.

“We are pleased to introduce our 2023 G90 flagship sedan to U.S. customers this month,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “With its advanced technologies, leading safety features, and top-class comfort amenities, G90 puts customers at the center of a new refined driving experience.”

At its starting MSRP of $88,400, the 2023 G90 comes comprehensively equipped with the brand’s entire Highway Driving Assist suite of safety and driver assistance features. It also brings Digital Key 2 to the G90 lineup for the first time. Using sensors positioned around the vehicle, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) allows drivers to automatically unlock their vehicle as they approach, using only their compatible Apple iPhone, Apple Watch or Samsung phone. The Digital Keys are paired using Apple Wallet and Samsung Pass. The vehicle intelligently recognizes the driver and automatically authenticates them, loading their customized vehicle preferences. Genesis Digital Key 2 also allows the vehicle owner to securely share keys with others. For example, a driver with an Apple device may share their key with another via iMessage, and also limit access to the vehicle with the click of a button.

G90 also brings Mood Curator, an all-new feature, to the Genesis lineup for the first time. Mood Curator enables integrated control of features like ambient lighting, the sound system, the fragrance system, massage seats, and electric curtains, to create an ambient environment that further enhances the passenger experience. The car offers four different mood modes, each of which can be customized for a high level of personalization.

In its second configuration at an MSRP of $98,700, G90 brings a host of available new features to the Genesis lineup, elevating the driving experience. Advanced technologies including Multi-Chamber Air Suspension and Rear Wheel Steering offer a comfortable and quiet ride, complemented by the Easy Close Power Doors and rear-passenger massage seats that complete the serene cabin.

Virtual Venues Live is a virtual, 3D-surround sound function, only available in G90. It recreates the sound characteristics of spaces that are optimized for certain types of music featuring settings such as Boston Symphony Hall, and delivers on that sound with an impressive 26-speaker Bang & Olufsen® audio system. Virtual Venues Live monitors the interior through an in-car microphone and simultaneously creates signals that reproduce the sound field characteristics of the selected space. Then, the system minimizes and stabilizes in-car noise according to the speed of the vehicle while delivering audio through its 26 speakers.

Last week, Genesis Motor America announced the continuation of its Priority One program, now available for the upcoming 2023 G90.
