SEMA-bound Chevrolet Camaro SS Special Edition to be Named by Fans

2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS Special Edition will make a firs world appearance at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas thus November. As part of National Name Your Car Day, the musclecar builder is inviting fans to name the vehicle, which will be revealed also at the event. What is more, this Chevy won’t remain one-off model, but instead – will go into production very soon. The car wears an exclusive Emerald Green Metallic exterior color, but is also endowed with other unique exterior features.

This special-edition Camaro SS will be offered in both coupe and convertible variants. They will be equipped with the 2SS trim. Chevrolet will also add the RS Appearance Package, which comprises of high-intensity discharge headlamps, light-emitting diode (LED) taillamps, RS-specific front upper grille, body-color roof moldings and body-color antenna.

Furthermore, this emerald beauty will be rolling on the streets on Chrome Dusk 21-inch accessory wheels. Other goodies featured here include body-color SS hood extractor and ZL1 rear spoiler, body-color accessory ground effects package as well as Cyber Gray rally stripes.

Inside, both variants will include a black interior with Graphite Silver door panel and instrument panel inserts. The convertibles will get a black top. Of course, the company has prepared optional equipment, which includes a sunroof, dual-mode exhaust, navigation radio and Chevrolet Performance short-throw shifter.

Under the hood of the unnamed warrior will hide the 6.2L V-8 engine. It produces 426 horsepower (318 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) in models with the standard six-speed manual transmission, and 400 horsepower (298 kW) and 556 Nm (410 lb-ft) for models equipped with the optional six-speed automatic transmission.

Fiat 500 Couture Special Editions Exhibited in Paris

Paris saw a really nice debut this year in the face of the Italian style icon – the Fiat 500 Couture. Under this name hide three distinctive vehicles: 500 Ron Arad Edition with a specific design like a garment “sewn” onto the car; the 500 Comics and 500 Camouflage showcars. The trio is inspired by the world of fashion and created to add to the pop and trendy nature in the 500′s DNA. The premiere took place during the Paris Fashion Week at the MotorVillage Rond-Point des Champs-Elysées.

500 Ron Arad Edition is a result of the joint work of the Italian brand and the internationally celebrated designer Ron Arad. To be more precise, the silhouette of the historic 1957 Fiat 500, or more famous as ‘Cinquino’, is drawn on the sides of the car using the Italian craftsmanship.

The car is equipped with great features such as a glass sunroof, chrome-plated accents, black interiors, superb black Poltrona Frau leather seats with ivory trim, 7″ TFT instrument panel, Blue&Me, leather steering wheel with radio controls, automatic climate control system, fog lights, 16 inch alloy rims, black metallic paintwork and white mirror caps with the silhouette of the legendary 500 drawn on the side panels.

The next two models, 500 Comics and 500 Camouflage showcars pay homage to the pop nature of the iconic Fiat 500. The first one has a two-tone livery, pastel ochre yellow and metallic black, embellished by craftsmanship resulting in “stitching” that traces out the stylish lines. The second model is inspired by 500′s DNA and features grey/green camouflage pattern, highlighted by the fluorescent yellow mirror covers.

Only 2015 Fiat 500 Ron Arad will eventually go on sale in Europe, starting from November this year. The car will be delivered to the new owner’s home together with an 1:18 scale model.

Chevrolet Fights Breast Cancer for Fourth Consecutive Year

Chevrolet and General Motors are uniting to battle breast cancer for fourth consecutive year. Both companies are hoping to gather more than last year’s $1.1 million proceeds this October. Te money will be raised for the American Cancer Society (ACS) through Chevrolet’s nationwide grassroots support for the society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks and other activities.

There will be several events, which will include nationwide employee and dealership-sponsored fund-raising walks as well as the especially themed pink Chevrolet SS. The vehicle will be the official pace car, making caution laps at three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends. There also will be test-drive donations at Chevrolet dealers throughout this month.

The gathered proceeds will go for ACS’s ongoing research, wellness and breast cancer awareness education. They will also support breast cancer patients and their families. In fact, since Chevrolet has been involved in this campaign, it has helped the society raise more than $3 million.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women in America. Its early detection and treatment are life-saving. Getting involved in a walk or making a donation is something anyone can do to make a difference.

Enhanced 2015 Kia Rio Hatch with World Premiere in Paris

2015 Kia Rio is getting enhanced and it just made its official debut at the Paris Motor Show. The car now features a number of improvements, including a slight visual makeover both inside and outside. The Rio design team in Korea has updated car’s ‘tiger-nose grille’, thus giving it a newly-designed front bumper and fog lights. The enhanced Rio will be offered exclusively in Europe with a choice of up to four efficient engines. Their power output will range from 75 hp to 109 hp.

The units will drive the front wheels via five- or six-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions. In addition, every engine in the range can be equipped with the optional second-generation fuel-stretching Start/Stop (ISG) technology. The ISG features an automatic start-stop function, advanced alternator control and an upgraded starter motor.

Kia is also offering three new alloy wheel designs that will be available in 15-, 16- and 17-inch dimension. What is more, the refreshed Rio’s profile is rounded up by the new rear bumper. Two new exterior paint finishes, called Urban Blue and Digital Yellow will be also added.

Inside, the updated Rio is brightened by the addition of chrome accents around the four dashboard air-vents. There is also a newly-designed centre-stack around the audio system. The range-topping EX models have a new cloth trim as standard, while the Kia is also offering as an option grey faux leather upholstery.

Other available features for this car include DAB digital radio and the AVN (audio-video navigation) system with a 7.0-inch display screen, improved processing speed and faster route calculation. 2015 Kia Rio hatchback is expected to go on sale in Europe in 2015.

Toyota Releases HiLux Black Edition

Toyota HiLux Black Edition is the new an edgy vehicle added to the famous four-wheel-drive HiLux family of vehicles. The special edition model has a name that says it all. The HiLux Black is adorned by a range of exterior and interior features, which are presented in black in order to enhance its toughness and appeal. To go into details, this version is includes a combination of brooding black side steps, sports bar and leather-accented interior trim including the six-way adjustable power-operated driver’s seat.

What is more, even the newly designed 17-inch six-spoke alloy wheels are painted black. As you can see, this vehicle also includes prominent new front and rear bumpers that give the HiLux Black a lower stance. This muscular look is accentuated by the black extensions below the fog light surrounds.

The model is powered by Toyota’s torquey 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which is coupled with either a five-speed manual gearbox or five-speed automatic transmission. The extensive feature list includes a reversing camera and a satellite navigation system with SUNA™ Live Traffic updates, which all are displayed in the 6.1-inch display audio screen.

The Japanese company is offering in this case the exterior color choices on black and white, called Eclipse Black and Glacier White. In 4×4 guise, Toyota HiLux Black Edition will have fewer than 1,000 units produced. It is based on the SR5 4×4 Double Cab pickup and has the maximum five-star safety rating.

Ferrari 458 Speciale A Breaks Cover in Paris

Ferrari 458 Speciale A Spider is a very special limited edition series which was revealed at the Paris Motor Show. The letter A in the name of the car stands for “Aperta”, which in English means “open”. This model is created in order to celebrate the success of the various versions of the 458 and it will be dedicated to just 499 Ferrari collectors. In addition, this Ferrari 458 is the most powerful spider in Prancing Horse history.

458 Speciale A offers the combination of extreme performance with the sublime pleasure of drop-top driving. Its aluminium retractable hard top need only 14 seconds to deploy or retract, thus reducing the weight difference with the Speciale coupe to just 50 kg.

The vehicle is driven by the most powerful naturally-aspirated road-going V8 engine ever built by Ferrari. It punches out a massive 605 hp (445 kW) (135 cv/l specific power output) and 540 Nm (399 lb-ft) of torque at 6000 rpm. Nevertheless, it is still capable of generating 275 g/km of CO2 emissions.

These figures help the new model accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.0 seconds. In fact, the car has a Fiorano lap time of 1’23”5. These superb results are due to its front and rear active aerodynamics, the rigidity of a chassis that incorporates 10 aluminium alloys, and Side Slip Angle Control (SSC) for sporty driving in all conditions. The exterior forms of this 458 Speciale A are absolutely performance-oriented. In fact, a series of innovative and original bodywork solutions has made it the most aerodynamically efficient Ferrari spider ever.

The glove compartment on the dash has been replaced with convenient odds and ends pockets on the tunnel and doors. There are also newly-designed seats that have Sabelt carbon-fibre shells. Hennessey Supercharges 2015 Ford Mustang GT with 717 HP

Hennessey Performance has made an HPE700 Supercharged Upgrade for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8. Only 500 units will be built for the model year 2015, making the vehicle a limited Edition. What is more, thanks to the refinement, the Mustang is now capable of delivering 717 horsepower, meaning that it can finally battle Chevy’s Corvette Z06 and Dodge’s SRT Hellcat. In fact, with this project, the tuners are offering a 2015 Mustang that will outperform some of the fastest cars currently offered, but at a lower price point.

Key to that 717 hp (527 kW) and the 856 Nm (632 lb-ft) of torque at 4400 rpm is the Roots-type high-helix supercharger packing 7.25 psi of boost. Helping the V8 breathe more deeply is a high-flow throttle body and stainless-steel exhaust system. Upgraded injectors and fuel pump feed the V8, managed by Hennessey’s proprietary engine management calibration.

The increase in horsepower also results in astonishing acceleration time, which in this case in only 3.6 seconds for the sprint from 0 to 60 mph. The tuning company is also offering for this Ford model customization options such as CarbonAero carbon-fiber bodywork that includes front splitter, side sills, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler. There are also available 20-in. Hennessey H10 wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires and a Brembo brake package with 15.1-in front rotors.

2014 ABT Audi RS5-R is Capable of Reaching Top Speed of 290 km/h

2014 ABT Audi RS5-R is an exceptionl tuning, which deserves our attention. The reason it grabbed it was that it can reach 100 km/h from standstill in just 4.3 seconds, while its top speed stands at the 290 km/h. In order to achieve such a performance, the popular Audi tuners from Bavaria sent the production sports car Audi A5 to the training camp. The result is marvelous: it now produces 470 hp (346 kW) and 440 Newton metres (324 lb-ft) of torque.

Behind these figures however, stands the work of the engineers, which have added new body kit to the high-performance coupé. The martial look of the car, met the lightweight construction and a host of functional details.

Precisely, the carbon front skirt with AeroFlics improves the airflow. The low side skirts and the rear skirt as well as the striking wing also comprise of the high-tech carbon fibre material. In addition, ABT Sportsline also added special inserts for the front fenders.

RS5-R appears like a real racing car. This is due to the big 20” ABT rims of type ER-F20 that come in “black magic” color. An interesting fact is thah the lightweight, forged alloy wheels only weigh just 9.3 kg each. They were fittedd with 275/30 ZR20 high-performance tires.

Kahn Range Rover Autobiography LWB is a RS-600 Performance Edition

A. Kahn Design has announced the release of Kahn Range Rover 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography LWB RS-600 Performance Edition. Every single inch of it is engaging and exciting to view and to drive, too. The Paris Grey vehicle was created in order to celebrate and also to showcase the very best in British creativity, fine craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Precisely, this Range Rover was improved via the addition of the RS-600 aerodynamic styling package that was built by the specialists at A. Kahn Design specifically for it. The package comprises of a 16-piece wide wheel arch kit that adds a commanding presence.

Larte Design Mercedes GL Black Crystal Shows the Power of 290 Horses [VIDEO]

Do you remember Larte Design’s Mercedes-Benz GL Black Crystal? This beautifully customized vehicle is now the main star in tuning company’s movie “Black Crystal”. The stylish film is very unusual, because it features a fictitious point-to-point race between the polo horse Barraca and Larte’s GL Black Crystal. The video clip was shot on the Hovener Hof stud farm near Weilerswist in North Rhine, Westphalia.

Although the tuned Mercedes has more than 290 hp (213 kW) (the production output is 258 hp (190 kW) and 620 Nm (458 lb-ft)), the drivers were quite astonished how very agile and spontaneously speedy the horse was. At the same time, the horse fans found the visual refinement of the car quite compelling.

Vehicle’s name is inspired by the two giant crystals of sorts on the front apron. The tuning program here includes a very aggressive body kit as well as black 22’’ forged alloy wheels and a sonorous exhaust system.

Audi TT Sportback Concept Revealed at Paris Motor Show

Audi TT Sportback concept is inspired by the five-door A5 and A7 Sportback models. The concept vehicle is currently making a debut at the Paris Motor Show. It is characterized by the additional 29 centimetres of the length of the ‘standard’ TT in order to incorporate extra rear doors. Its 2.0 TFSI engine also enhances the engine output range in the production coupe, delivering the blistering 400 horsepower (294 kW).

The engine is coupled with a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, helping to peg the 0 to 62mph sprint time at just 3.9 seconds. This car also features quattro permanent all‑wheel drive system, sophisticated suspension and the low centre of gravity as well as lightweight aluminium components. In addition, a laser spot that complements the LED high beam is featured in each of the headlights.

The five-door TT Sportback concept measures 4.47 metres in length, 1.89 metres in width, and 1.38 metres in height. It is built around a wheelbase of 2.63 metres. When compared with the new production TT, it is not 29 centimetres longer, but also 6 centimetres wider, 3 centimetres lower and its wheelbase is 12 centimetre longer.

The interior is underlined by slimline applications on the dashboard and doors, as well as a long centre console and the super sport seats with the integrated head restraints. There is also space for two people in the rear in individual seats with integrated head restraints.

As mentioned, this concept car is powered by the 2.0 TFSI engine. It produces 400 hp (294 kW) at 6,400 rpm, with a specific output of 200 hp per litre of displacement. Despite this number, the car also returns good fuel efficiency rated at 40.3mpg. This equates to CO2 emissions of 162 grams per kilometre.

The turbocharged direct-injection engine is responsible for the 3.9 acceleration time of the car for the sprint from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph). The powerplant is coupled with a compact seven-speed S tronic transmission, featuring three-shaft layout. The driver can let the dual-clutch transmission operate in two automatic programs or take control using the paddles on the steering wheel.

The suspension of this concept is based on a McPherson system. The aluminium components minimize the weight of the unsprung chassis masses, while the four-link rear suspension can process the longitudinal and transverse forces separately. The car runs on 21-inch wheels fitted with tyres in the format of 255/30. The four brake discs in 18‑inch format include a weight-saving wave design. Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) adds is what rounds-out the chassis.

Fiat Introduces the 500X Crossover in Paris

Fiat 500X is also making a world premiere at the Paris Auto Show. This crossover is the latest addition to the Fiat 500 family. The model will be offered in two versions. The first one is designed to appeal to those with spirited, metropolitan outlook, while the second one is a more rugged version with stylish and adventurous appeal. The company will offer the model in 12 different body colors and eight different designs. The alloy wheel-size range starts from 16 inch to up to 18 inch.

The new crossover is offered with a range of engines and transmissions, including a new nine-speed automatic transmission, which is the first added in a Fiat vehicle. This feature and the all wheel drive will end up delivering to the owner highly efficient drivetrain.

MacPherson rear suspension, active safety systems, front headlights with DRLs and front fog lights with adaptive cornering have all been added here. The sophisticated ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Lane Assist (lane departure warning system) and Blind Spot Assist (lane change assistance system), “Brake Control” assisted braking system as well as the ParkView reversing camera are also available in the new 500X.

The all-wheel drive petrol models are powered by the 170 hp (125 kW) 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II engine or the 184 hp (135 kW) 2.4-litre Tigershark engine. Each of them is mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The car is also offered with a front-wheel drive diesel range. It comprises of 95 hp (70 kW) 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel with five-speed manual, and 120 hp (88 kW) 1.6-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. The four-wheel drive diesel option is the 140 hp (103 kW) 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel, with either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

500X is compact: it is 4.25 metres long, 1.80 metres wide and 1.60 metres high. The interior is cozy and spacious and has seven different interior fabric, leather and colour configurations. Inside, one can find also a 5.0- or 6.5-inch Uconnect colour touchscreen infotainment systems. DAB and a Beats Hi-Fi system are also available.

Fiat 500X will go on sale in the the second quarter of 2015. More specifications and pricing are to be announced closer to launch.
