Mercedes showcases fresh new GLC Coupe machine

2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe New Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has recently hit the roads and in brand’s own words, this new model would reshape the vision of the luxury Coupe segment. So, let’s see some of vehicle’s highlights, shall we?

Design

First of all, the new Coupe features a new design language. It is aggressive and stylish and brings that spark of sporty aggressiveness. There are new A-pillars that feature a more pronounced slope, which lowers the roof silhouette. Furthermore, it proudly showcases new diamond radiator grille, which is available in either silver or black finish. In fact, it is part of the Night package, which adds chrome trim components. There’s an eye-catching set of features as the standard-fit LED High Performance headlamps, elegant lines, new diffuser and stylish tailpipe trims as well as full-LED tail lamps.

Drivetrain system

GLC Coupe comes with a choice of four-cylinder petrol and diesel units from the latest generations. This diesel unit has already met the requirements of the Euro 6d standards, while the petrol engine works in perfect harmony with the integrated 48-volt on-board electrical system.

What makes this machine special is the new suspension system. As an alternative to the standard sport suspension with adaptive damping, new GLC Coupe features DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL, which adjusts dampers for the steel spring on the front and rear axle on demand and with a single button. Also, depending on the road situation, the damping is controlled individually for each wheel in interaction with the engine, gearbox and steering characters. In addition, the AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension is also available – it brings enhanced comfort and sporty feel.

POSAIDON team takes a closer look at the mighty AMG GT R beast!

2019 POSAIDON Mercedes-AMG GT R Being called “The Beast of the Green Hell”, the mighty AMG GT R is surely a menacing machine. With its tremendous power output of 585hp/700Nm, generated by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, the vehicle manages to score an impressive lap time of 7:11 minutes at the legendary Nürburgring race track.

However, there a people who believe that AMG GT R can still deliver more and could further expand its potential. Indeed, we are talking about POSAIDON team. What these fellows have done is pretty much astonishing. First, engineers have boosted the overall output to the dramatic 800hp by installing new high-performance turbochargers. Furthermore, the connecting rods of the engine have been fitted with forged high-performance pistons and sport air filters and there’s also a new improved fuel pumps set that provide the twin-turbo engine with high-octane fuel. All this is topped off with engine software remapping.

This revised engine system is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. Furthermore, it aids the AMG GT R to speed from 0 to 100km/h in mere 2.9 seconds. Sweet, ain’t it?

And as one might have well expected from POSAIDON team, there’s an exclusive set of wheels – Evolution One. These come in 10×20-inch and 12×20-inch size and are wrapped by performance Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires in 285/30R20 on the steering axle and 325/30R20 on the drive axle.

Indeed, we are talking about the Jeep Wrangler Military Edition. Let’s find out more!

The engineering team has included an Iron Man bonnet that proudly sits up front along with the wide wings with integrated vents and bolt apertures, front bumper replacement and a four-slot grille that altogether complete with an industrial mesh and bumper assembly that matches the iconic feel of the vehicle.

Contributing to the hard-hitting character of the Chelsea Truck Company Jeep Military Edition, driver and passenger will find a new fuel filter cap, side mirrors, quad cross-hair exhaust with 100mm tailpipes, Chelsea Truck spare wheel cover, Tron Ring Lightning, LED Diamond bright headlights and horizontal LED running lights.

Although the exterior is dominated by driver-oriented components and overall design concept, one will soon find out that it is actually a pretty luxurious place. There are quilted and perforated heather seats with contrasting stitching, central glove box, armrests and roof lining with the same design finish, vented foot pedals in machined aluminum, door entry sill plates in stainless steel and mud flaps that together complete the package.

Hyundai announces details for its third-gen Vehicle Platform. Check it out!

2019 Hyundai Sonata Third Generation Platform Hyundai Motor team announced that the new third-generation vehicle platform will be integrated in the latest Sonata model. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale later in March and will feature tons of improvements and upgrades, compared to predecessor models.

This new platform is expected to improve the market competitiveness of new Sonata and other future models. In team’s own words, the machine will come with greater flexibility, efficiency and power. Let’s check out more!

Kahn Design reveals new Vanguard machine at Geneva Show!

2019 Kahn Design Vanguard 2019 Geneva International Motor Show will see the Chelsea Truck Company unveil a Vanguard edition showcased for the first time.

In order to create this project, Afzal Kahn and his fellow teammates went back to the drawing board and reimagined each aspect of the classic Defender from the ground up. The final result is an innovative design that keeps the iconic British style alive, but at the same time showcases something new and contemporary.

The most obvious part of the tuning project is the addition of widened wheel arches at the front and rear, measuring up to an additional 6 inches on each side. Additional changes include fine-tuned suspension axles and half shafts among many other new and revised components, thus ensuring smooth driving and precise steering process.

In terms of styling, the team has included front and rear wide wings with vents and bold apertures, black body finish, extended wheel arches, cross-hair military headlights, bumper sump guard, mesh side and top bonnet vents, mud flaps, paint roll bars and side steps in matte black. Sweet!

All this is topped off with a set of commanding Mondial wheels in 9×18-inch side, wrapped by 275/50 R18 Cooper Discoverer tires.

The inside welcomes everyone to a rather comfortable and sporty-oriented ambience. There are new racing seats that feature contrast stitching, along with the door panels, central glove box and other components.

Chelsea Truck Company Vanguard Edition is on display at the Geneva Motor Show along with the Homage 2 edition on stand 1141 in Hall 6.

POSAIDON tweaks a lucky G-Class machine. Check it out!

2019 POSAIDON Mercedes-Benz G-Class Although it doesn’t come with dramatic design change, new G-Class features a fine drivetrain system and tons of additional feature that do make a huge difference, compared to the predecessor models. Additionally, the sporty version, Mercedes-AMG G 63, brings even bigger numbers to the streets – the latest AMG project features a 4.0-liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 585hp.

However, POSAIDON team, who specializes in performance optimization of Mercedes-Benz and AMG machines, has brought new G 63 to the next level.

The most notable improvement is done to the overall power output – thanks to the engineers, the vehicle now delivers the massive 830hp and 1,100Nm by applying software upgrades. Furthermore, the 2.5-tonn luxury off-roader can reach a speed of 100km/h in mere 4.2 seconds and chase a top speed of 250km/h.

In fact, POSAIDON team has put some effort not only in electronics, but also in hardware. The revised G-Class machine includes upgrades to both OEM turbochargers and forged high-performance pistons and high-performance pistons and high-pressure fuel pumps. On top, there are new exhaust manifolds and downpipes with sports catalytic converters. All these inserts and changes result on this titanic power upgrade and efficient distribution via POSAIDON’s exclusive engine and transmission software tweaks.

Lastly, POSAIDON has done some changes to the power display in the AMG menu of the on-board computer. By applying these changes, passengers can see the exact power and torque values produced by the vehicle at any time, providing clear picture to its true power.

Volkswagen presents new concept vehicle at the Geneva Show

2019 Volkswagen ID. BUGGY Volkswagen team introduced the audience at the 89^th Geneva International Motor Show to the ID.BUGGY. Inspired by the classic Californian dune buggies of the 60s, the new concept machine showcases versatility and enhanced driving capabilities. Let’s find out more!

ID.BUGGY is both futuristic and retro. The MEB chassis incorporates a 62kWh lithium-ion battery into the floor and a 201hp electric motor at the rear that adds a nice range of 155 miles on the WLTP cycle. The vehicle also features a minimalistic design. This feature adds to the classic beach cruising.

And as any machine from the 1960s, ID.BUGGY is versatile. Extremely versatile. As all buggies from that era, the new guy comes with high degree modular variability – based on the chassis of the legendary Beetle with a four-cylinder boxer engine.

The ID.BUGGY is a pure 2-seater. It can also be quickly converted to a 2+2 seater. There could also be added one more electric motor to the front axle in order to make the four-wheel drive possible. Furthermore, BUGGY’s modular design allows for the composite upper body to be detached from the MEB chassis, opening up endless possibilities for third-party manufacturers, as the original Meyers Manx kit did for the first buggies.

Exterior design

Just like the classic models, ID. BUGGY doesn’t come with a grille, but it is still instantly recognized as a Volkswagen model. The machine comes with a raised hood, fenders and tail end hint at the concept’s off-road chops, while the three-dimensional oval LED headlights and taillights and the LED VW logo contribute to the notable and memorable design.

Furthermore, ID.BUGGY is geared with standard 18-inch wheels and BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A off-road tires (255/55 at front and 285/60 at rear). The machine also features a solid aluminum underbody guard and aluminum side sill panels.

Interior design

ID. BUGGY features a minimalistic interior with easy handling and waterproof materials. All components support the exterior and are continuation of the body, covered in Fern Green, while the majority of the interior trim is finished in Grey Tech Blue soft-touch paint.

Drivetrain system

The zero-emission drivetrain of the ID. BUGGY is composed of electric motor integrated in the rear axle, power electronics, a single-speed gearbox and high-voltage flat battery are arranged in the car floor in order to safe space. This electric motor delivers a total of 201hp and maximum torque of 228lb-ft.

Also, as an alternative to the rear-wheel-drive layout, it is also possible to fit a second electric motor in the front axle. By doing so, an electric propshaft would distribute the power of the 4Motion four-wheel drive between the front and rear axles in mere seconds.

Kia unveils new concept car at the Geneva Motor Show

2019 Kia "Imagine by Kia" Kia Motors reveals its all-electric concept car, “Imagine by Kia” at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show.

What is special about this one is that it is a visual embodiment of Kia’s desire to move forward in the world of electrification. Unlike other award-winning brand models, “Imagine by Kia” is underpinned by a low-mounted, induction-charged battery pack that ensures enough power for the drivetrain.

The machine also features Kia’s iconic “tiger nose” grille and bold new illuminated “tiger mask” that encircles the main LED headlamps Separated by horizontal lines, the dipped and main beam units are housed with a single block of clear acrylic glass, which creates the effect of piercing eyes that float free of visible support.

There’s also a single sheet of glass, used for both the windscreen and roof flows from the base of the A-pillar and over the cabin in order to create a large sky-window that enhances both passenger driving experience and overall premium expression of the car.

The wheels also contribute to the visual expression. Each of the 22-inch alloy wheels features four flush inserts of transparent acrylic glass, polished at the front and diamond cross-cut at the back that reflects and refracts light, much like a cut diamond. These wheels are wrapped by Goodyear 255/35 R22 intelligrip EV concept tires.

The one notable feature that makes this concept vehicle stand out from the rest is the set of 21 individual ultra high-resolution screens that curve their synchronized way across the top of the dashboard in a layout that is both casual and co-ordinated.

In fact, the cabin’s ambience is enhanced by the floating central console that hovers independently above the low and flat floor. The doors are swatched in a metallic fabric and leather, visually splitting the cabin into two distinctive upper and lower levels. In fact, the versatility of the all-electric architecture has enabled Kia team to create this open and spacious interior for passengers, which would bring the feeling of de-cluttered rather than de-contented, in Kia engineers’ own words.

Nissan announces details and prices for new 2019 LEAF PLUS

2019 Nissan LEAF PLUS Nissan team announces details and pricing for the new LEAF PLUS model. What is special about this particular one, is that the “PLUS” stands for increased energy density of vehicle’s 62kWh battery pack and the higher 214hp output.
