  • Genesis team reveals first official images of the GV80 SUV

    2020 Genesis GV80 SUV Genesis team shared the first official image of the GV80, the first sport-utility vehicle for the brand. The much-anticipated three-row GV80 will be the fourth model in the Genesis lineup, joining the G70, G80 and G90 sedans. And just like its siblings, GV80 will be based on a rear-wheel-drive platform and an AWD system will be an option.

    The first images of GV60, which will be supplemented in coming weeks by engineering details, provide a complete picture of the SUV. The interior and exterior styling is a development of the GV80 Concept introduced back in 2017 New York Auto Show.

    Of course, there are numerous signature Genesis elements that find their place in the new GV80. Such are the high-tech Quad Lamps, the Crest Grille, Parabolic Line and overall muscular and aggressive stance. The G-Matrix pattern that appears in light fixtures throughout the exterior, along with the design of the wheels, are inspired by orchids seen when diamonds are illuminated by light.

    The interior of the vehicle is designed with open space in mind and is characterized by the elegant South Korean architectural aesthetics. Minimalism is the keyword, as it comes to the cabin – every detail is clean and shiny and adds to that cozy and pleasurable interior ambience.

  • Bentley celebrates a record number of awards and recognition

    2019 Bentley AwardsBentley has rounded off a memorable centenary year with a record number of award and recognitions. The prominent brand has claimed no fewer than 26 titles and was named Britain’s “Most Admired Car Company”.

    Additionally, the new generation of Flying Spur has managed to win the Top Gear Magazine “Luxury Car of the Year” award. Remarking on its refined nature, Top Gear team described the Flying Spur as “a deeply clever, superbly executed car”, that also “gets the blend of presence and dynamism spot on.”

    Furthermore, the vehicle was named “Luxury Car of the Year” by Carwow, UK’s top internet car review channel – it was praised for its design and interior ambiance.

    The Flying Spur has been reinvented on a new platform in order to inspire both driver and passengers alike. The new model adopts tons of new and advanced technologies, with a driver-focused cabin that features the latest in-car connectivity and passenger comfort aids.

    The grand touring sedan was also named “China Design Car of the Year” in the China Car of the Year awards, as well as “Design Car of the Year” by Southern China Annual Auto.

    As you might know, the vehicle is handcrafted in Crewe, England and since its release, the Continental GT was named “People’s Car of the Year”, while Bentayta, the benchmark SUV has taken away the “Best Mid-Size Luxury SUV” and “Industry Leading Innovation Award” at the Global Times Bo Yuan Awards.

    Additionally, Bentley Motor’s reputation was reinforced by prominent business magazine, Management Today, which has named the brand as “Britain’s Most Admired Car Company” and placed it on top of the “Best Quality of Products”.   • 2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross earns overall 5-star rating from NHTSA

    2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., the fastest-growing Asian brand in the US for the second consecutive year, announced 2020 Eclipse Cross received the highest-possible overall score, a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration most recent crashworthiness tests. Both the front-wheel-drive and AWD variants of 2020 Eclipse Cross have managed to receive the prestigious 5-Star rating.

    Eclipse Cross performed well in all categories of the evaluation, scoring five out of five stars on the passenger side frontal-crash test and four out of five stars on the drivers’ side. Eclipse Cross has also impressed the jury by earning five out of five stars in the combined side crash rating and four stars in the rollover test.

    Eclipse Cross has entered the 2020 model year with the increased availability of driver assistance systems and an expansion of trim configurations. New for 2002 is the increased availability of a two-wheel-drive variant. Mitsubishi team has also applied the lessons learned through the years of on- and off-road competition in order to ensure that the vehicle lives up to the brand’s reputation of a dynamic and reliable brand.

  • Honda Talon lineup wins prestigious recognition

    2020 Honda Talon With 2019 drawing to a close, Honda’s all-new sporty and upgraded multipurpose ATW were named winners of a prominent event by influential media outlets. The Talon 1000R and 1000X have managed to earn UTV Action’s “New UTV of the Year” award, while Honda Foreman Rubicon 4×4 DCT EPS was named ATV.com’s “Utility ATV of the Year”.

    This announcement brings an exciting end to a fast-paced year that saw Honda’s Powersports Division come to market with the Talon 1000X and 1000R two-seat sport side-by-sides. Furthermore, Talon 1000X-4 and Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve four-seat side-by-sides, along with the Rancher, Foreman and Foreman Rubicon were also awarded recognitions.

    When listing Talon’s notable features, UTV Action’s edition mentioned that Honda’s industry-exclusive Dual-Clutch Transmission, which offers two automatic models, along with a manual one with paddle shifters.

    2019 Talon 1000R and Talon 1000X share a common frame and engine, but the wheelbase and suspension configurations are what set them apart. Both modules feature Honda’s I-4WD technology and sub-transmission with high and low transmission ranges, technological features that help the vehicles excel in a wide variety of conditions.

    Also, Honda’s DCT is also used on the Foreman Rubicon 4×4 DCT EPS, which has managed to earn praise from ATV.com.

    Introduced as a 2020 model, the latest-generation Foreman Rubicon also features a larger-displacement power unit for more mid- and low-range torque, an all-new reverse lever for a faster transition between driver and reverse gears, and a new rack system, which works in conjunction with Honda’s new Pro-Connect accessories.

  • Shelby reveals upcoming Heritage Limited Edition models

    2020 Shelby GT350RA year before Ken Miles set lap records at Le Mans in Ford’s famed GT40, the famous race driver and engineers made waves on the track in the first 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 fastback coupe. Ford celebrates the legacy 55 years later with a new limited-edition 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350 Heritage Edition Package.

    For 2020 Ford produces a limited run of Heritage Editions finished in classic Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue side and over-the-top race stripes in a nod to the 1965 GT350 competition model developed by Carroll Shelby. Additional cues include front and rear exterior badges finished in Guardsman Blue and a unique dash badge inside. GT350R models will feature all-black seats with red accents.

    The throwback Heritage Edition Package comes a year after Shelby GT350 received tons of upgrades. These include revised from chassis geometry for improved steering capabilities, revised antilock braking and MagneRide tuning for optimized aerodynamic components, altogether resulting in an improved ride, stability and handling both on the track and on the road. Additionally, the model gets a revised high-trail steering knuckle leveraged from the Shelby GT500. It also features a new steering rack and recalibrated electric power steering control.

  • Volkswagen reveals sketches of 2020 Caddy

    2020-Volkswagen-Caddy-910New sketches of the VW Commercial Vehicles design give a glimpse of the all-new Caddy that would be unveiled in 2020: the images showcase a completely revised machine with no screw left untouched.

    These initial sketches from the early development indicate that numerous aspects of the vehicle are going to be different, compared to predecessor models. The concept drawing of the panel van variant of the Caddy underline the idea that a new self-confidence will be entering the otherwise functional and practical vehicle class. The draft reveals possible configurations: everything is different, but still with a high cargo capacity and great variability, which are the key ingredients for attracting lineup’s customers.

    An example of a sportier style is indicated, for instance, by sloping the roof line, along with the sculpturally shaped and large side areas. We do assume that in future more customers involved in sport and active leisure pursuits will consider the new Caddy as a handy alternative.

    The pictures depict the new Cargo version with several striking pointers to the actual full production panel van. These include mode strongly vertically arranged and slim LED lights at the rear, along with a larger looking rear window, a significant element of vehicle’s appearance. In line with customer wishes, the commercially used version of the new Caddy will also have a non-transparent tailgate and continue to offer swing doors as an optional feature.

  • A comprehensive look at BMW’s new iX3 power unit

    2020 BMW iX3 The new BMW iX3, the production of which will commence in 2020, will feature an emission-free driving with comfortable everyday use. The vehicle will have a range of more than 440km within the legislative WLTP test cycle.

    The BMW iX3 is yet a further milestone in the consistent realization of the BMW Group’s electrification strategy. In 2020 the vehicle will become the brand’s first model which is available both with conventional petrol and diesel engines, along with a plug-in hybrid and purely electric drive. With such wide choice, the brand is taking into account the numerous different requirements and needs of its worldwide customers.

    This is the fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology and it is the key to future-focused sustainability for vehicles with electrified drive systems. It is the result of consistent development work within the framework of BMW EfficientDynamics and the experience in the field of electric mobility. All engine components used for BMW eDrive technology are developed exclusively by BMW Group. Something more, the electric motor and the high-voltage batteries are produced in corporately owned manufacturing facilities. By doing so, the BMW Group ensures its influence over the products and the quality of each component.

    This new fifth-generation technology comprises a drive unit with an electric motor, system electronics, and transmissions are brought into a central housing. As a result, the required installation space of the drive technology and its weigh are notably reduced. The ratio between motor output and weight of the drive system improves with a total of 30 percent, compared to previous models.

    The electric motor featured in the vehicle delivers a maximum torque of 286hp and 400Nm of torque. A further special feature of the electric motor is the construction method that eliminates the need for rare earth materials. Furthermore, the engine transfers power to the rear wheels. Not only this contributes to the overall sporty spirit of the vehicle but it also increases the overall efficiency. Moreover, the range of the BMW iX3 benefits from the drive design conveying the traditional BMW rear-wheel-drive experience.

    The high-voltage battery is an integral part of BMW’s fifth eDrive generation and is based on the NMC-811 technology in BMW’s typical prismatic design. The BMW Group has outstanding development capabilities in the field and ensures precise specs with regard to the use of materials and battery design. At the same time, BMW engineers were able to reduce the share of cobalt contained in the battery by an additional two thirds. Compared to the former technology, the fifth-generation comes with a gravimetric energy density that is around 20 percent higher.

    In addition, the compact design has been further optimized. The battery cells are grouped into modules at specialized BMW production locations and finally assembled as a high-voltage battery unit, which is then placed at the floor of the iX3. It is because of this arrangement that there is no loss of space for passengers and luggage compartment.

  • Toyota’s Superbowl spot will feature 2020 Highlander model

The 60-second Toyota ad, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, will feature the all-new 2020 Highlander – the video will mark the launch of the large Highlander campaign, which runs through mid-July 2020.

    Toyota has a long and successful story of leveraging the Super Bowl stage to launch landmark products. 2020 and 2015 campaign feature Camry, America’s best-selling passenger vehicle for the past 17 years, while the 2019 Game packed a one-two punch of the 2019 RAV4, one of the best-selling SUV in the US and the fierce return of the all-new 2020 Supra. In 2018, Toyota utilized the Big Game and the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 shortly after to launch the first-ever global marketing campaign, “Start Your Impossible”, highlighting Toyota’s shift to a mobility company.

  • Ford reveals and exclusive upgrade pack for the 2020 Expedition lineup

    2020 Ford Expedition FX4 Ford adds its FX4 off-road package to the upscale 2020 Ford Expedition Limited for customers who want to travel further off the beaten path.

    The Expedition Limited FX4 off-road package brings some off-road ruggedness and capability to the brand’s seven-passenger SUV. There is nearly 20 percent of Expedition owners that use their machine for off-road adventures with 45 percent taking their SUV hunting, camping and fishing, according to MaritzCX market research.

    FX4 comes with athletic 32-inch all-terrain tires on 18-inch metallic gray-painted cast-aluminum rims and premium off-road-tuned shocks. There are also seven underbody skid plates, including a new sand shield, steel plates and a full-length guard for the fuel tank. Additionally, a chin spoiler beneath the front bumper is shortened in order to improve the approach angles for climbing over steep obstacles. The Chrome-plated running bards with angular step bars add off-rad protection and passenger convenience.

    In terms of drivetrain, new FX4 features a 374hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost power unit, mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a two-speed electronically controlled four-wheel-drive transfer case with neutral towing capability. There’s also an advanced Terrain Management System that adds still more off-road prowess by automatically selecting optimal power transfer and engine control in order to give drivers confidence out in the wild.

    Along with the enhanced performance rates, the vehicle comes with a 360-degree camera system with a split-view and premium leather-trimmed interior with rich wood accents and tons of handy features. For 2020, Expedition gets Ford Co-Pilot360 with a host of driver-assist technologies as Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keeping System, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and a rearview camera.

    New 2020 Expedition Limited FX4 is available for both the standard Expedition and extended-length Expedition MAX version.

  • Porsche reveals first details about new 2020 Macan GTS

    2020 Porsche Macan GTSPorsche complements the Macan lineup with a new sporty entry. The new Macan GTS comes with a powerful engine, performance-focused chassis and, as expected, sexy design and extended the list of standard goodies. The agile 2.9-liter powerful twin-turbo V6 delivers a total of 375hp and is capable of speeding from zero to 100km/h in a mere 4.7 seconds. This time can be reduced to 4.5 with the optional Sport Chrono package.

    Among all-new features, new family member adopts an adaptive air suspension, which lowers the overall height with a total of 10 millimeters. Blended with standard 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels and the large cast-iron brakes, new Macan GTS impresses with agile responsiveness and enhanced performance rates.
