Lexus reveals an updated version of the versatile LX 400d SUV

2018 Lexus LX 400d In order to bring more refinement and power, Lexus team gears the luxury off-road LX with a V8 power unit. This means that the LX 400d now features the titanic 650Nm from mere 1600rpm and relatively low fuel consumption: 9.5liters per 100 kilometers. Not bad for a premium off-road beast, right? More precisely, this is a 4.5-liter twin-turbo direct-injection engine with 360 horsepower.

This five seater also comes with pedestrian detection, 10 airbags and six-speed sequential-shift gearbox as part of the standard equipment. Buyers will also enjoy new 20-inch alloys, revised LED headlamps and tons of cutting-edge technologies. Just to name a few – the five-mode drive mode select, variable gear-ratio steering, adaptive variable suspension and more.

The inside welcomes everyone to a rather cozy place: Lexus LX 400d features 12.3-inch high-definition screen, satellite navigation and four-zone climate control. There is also a premium audio system with nine speakers and seven channels with dedicated digital sound processing. And the thing that would impress everyone is the steering wheel: it is a three spoke wheel, covered in high-quality leather and shimamoku-woodgrain rim. It also features paddle shifters for quick and precise speed shifts. Heated front seats for both rows are also part of the standard equipment. These also come with full leather upholstery and wireless phone charger, cool box and rear-door shades. Sweet.

Here’s how 2018 Mazda CX-3 managed to impress us!

2018 Mazda CX-3 Mazda showcases its latest CX-3 model and we should say that we are impressed by what the brand aims for. Featuring a well-known KODO design and SKYACTIV engine system. Of course, engineering team hasn’t forgotten the ACTIVESENSE suite for safety features – with all these together the 2018 CX-3 definitely has caught the eye of both fans and sceptics.

If you are familiar with the model, you already know that this is the second update of the vehicle since 2015. However, this time Mazda focuses on utility technologies and driver and passenger comfort. On the flip side the exterior remains almost the same – CX-3 features a refreshed grille, new exclusive Soul Red Crystal finish and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The interior features new central armrest, an electronic parking brake and of course, this extensive i-ACTIVSENCE safety suite. Sweet.

In terms of drivetrain system, SKYACTIV-D diesel power unit is the chosen one for the new CX-3 machine. It was heavily revised and now covers the latest EURO 6d-Temp standard, including the real-drive emission test. Furthermore, it features lower combustion temperature that ensures lower NOXraw emissions. It is achieved by adding a special NOx storage catalyst that reduces the remaining nitrogen oxide components. Sweet.

2018 Kahn Design Range Rover 4.4 Autobiography Pace Car Kahn Design team showcases its latest project: Range Rover 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography Pace Car that embodies sexy outfit and agile drivetrain system. Featuring wider wheel arches, new front bumper and upper roof wing, the machine is definitely more muscular and massive. And given that it comes with revised rear bumpers, created from carbon-fiber and large wheels, the look of a menacing beast is complete. Oh, we forgot to mention the satin black crosshair exhaust outlets.

The cabin features Herringbone styling concept and comes with changed front and rear seats and tons of changed features. 2018 Hyundai Tucson Audience at the 2018 New York International Auto Show has witnessed the unveiling of the latest Hyundai Tucson – one of brand’s most popular and prominent models. Designed and built in Europe, this compact SUV enters the competition with confidence, tons of features and refined drivetrain system. So, let’s check out some more!

The Tucson can be specified with two diesel and two petrol engines. All of these units are revised and offer more power for the cost of less CO2-emissions. The most powerful one is the 2.0-liter diesel with 186hp. It can be paired to a six-speed manual or the optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Customers can also enjoy a convenient and smooth ride, thanks to the SmartSense active safety and driving assistance features. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Speed Limit Indicator Function and more. In terms of safety features there are Surround View Monitor, High Beam Assist and rain-sensing wipers.

VW team showcases Atlas Tanoak Concept at the New York Show

2019 Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak Concept Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak Concept was just revealed at the New York International Auto Show and showcases VW’s pickup, based on the MQB architecture. Geared with a massive power unit and offering tons of utility and technological features, the Tanoak surely has caught the eye of show’s audience.

Named after species of tree that grows in Pacific Coast in US, Atlas Concept is one large vehicle: 214.1 inches long and 79.9 inches wide and 72.6 inches tall, this is one of the largest Atlas pickups released – it is even longer than the seven-sea model.

The Tanoak concept is 214.1 inches long, some 15.8 inches longer than the Atlas, which makes it a large midsize pickup by U.S. standards. The concept vehicle is 79.9 inches wide and 72.6 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 128.3 inches, 11 inches longer than the Atlas seven-seater.

Apparently based on previous SUVs in the lineup, Tanoak resembles much of his predecessors in terms of styling and appearance. However, there are some feature that make it stand out from all previous Atlas machines. For example, the front face is a bit more rugged and showcases revised headlights and new kind of bumper. Additional changes include raised engine hood, rugged underbody protection and new carabiner.

The cabin is spacious. And definitely adopts that sporty spirit. However, it is not uncomfortable or way too “Spartan-ish”. Instruments, central console and the multifunctional steering wheel are revised and do not have much in common with older Tanoak models. Most of the functions are now controlled digitally and thanks to the large touchscreen multimedia device everything is executed easily and without any complex actions or demanding combination of buttons and switches.

Atlas Tanoak Concept features Volkswagen’s trustworthy 3.6-liter V6 power unit, capable of producing 276 horsepower and 266lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and benefits from the 4MOTION AWD system with Active Control. In fact, this very same AWD system features selectable on- and off-road modes that can enhance stability and control over dry, wet, slick and unpaved surfaces.

Jaguar F-PACE SVR showcases refinement and agility. It is worth the check out!

2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR The F-PACE lineup, awarded with numerous prestigious awards, expands the family members with a new model. In Jaguar’s own words, this is by far the most powerful and agile unit they have produced. And given that it is shaped by Special Vehicle Operations team, we tend to believe the team.

In terms of styling, we do see a rather convincing version of the F-PACE machine. It is muscular, confident and elegant. Surely, Jaguar team hasn’t disappointed. There are some aerodynamic changes here and there – the team has installed larger air intakers at the front and side fenders, new and exclusive SVR bonnet, fresh rear spoiler and a new rear bumper. Cool.

The F-PACE SVR also comes with Variable Valve Active Exhaust System. It not only provides brutal roar, but also enhances the overall performance rates of the vehicle: it contributes to better gas flow and makes the SUV way more agile. Also, this is the first F-PACE machine to include Jaguar’s Electronic Active Differential system and a new AWD mechanics, thanks to the Intelligent Driveline Dynamics control technology.

And as we have expected from a vehicle of this class, the F-PACE SVR features advanced utility technologies to ensure confident and supreme all-terrain performance. The new AWD technology incorporates Intelligent Driveline Dynamics, All Surface Progress Control and Adaptive Surface Response. Sweet.

2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback Audi Sport team launches the latest RS model: Audi RS 5 Sportback. Making its debut at the New York show, the new family member has tons of features to talk about. And given that we live in a time of great competition between rivals, there is a lot to expect from this bad boy. So, let’s check out what is going on here, shall we?

Pure Audi styling: RS 5 Sportback adopts all distinctive features that the brand is known for and adds a bit more of sporty kick. Resembling Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO, the RS 5 features wide and flat Singleframe grille, large RS-exclusive honeycomb air intakers, matte front spoiler and matte mirror housings. Of course, as any other sporty Audi, this one also comes with RS-specific diffuser, oval exhaust pipes and glossy black rear-lip spoiler.

The cabin welcomes driver and passengers to a place with impressive design details and driver-focused technology goodies. For example, it features Audi’s latest wing-design wrap-around dashboard with user-friendly controls. There are also advanced technological systems that aid the driver in times of need: Audi pre sense basic and city assist, rear cross traffic assist and adaptive cruise control. Sweet.

2019 Audi RS 5 Sportback

Sportsback comes with an agile 2.9-liter TFSI biturbo power unit that deliver the massive 444hp and 443lb-ft of torque. These numbers also mean that RS 5 sprints from 0 to 60km/h in mere 4 seconds and chases a top speed of 279km/h. In fact, this top speed can be boosted to 313km/h with the optional Dynamic plus package.

Also, RS 5 is geared with new front five-link suspension that offer better steering precision and improved handling and stability when cornering. It lowers the overall height with a total of 7mm, compared to the standard suspension and features Dynamic Ride Control that uses steering springs and adjustable dampers.

Infiniti presents limited models at the New York Show pt.2

2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED As you might have remembered from part 1 of this review, we are looking what is happening in the INFINITI camp at the New York show. By far we have revealed the new QX60 LIMITED and we are quite happy with the final result. And now it is time to check out the bigger one – QX80 LIMITED.

Exterior and interior styling

2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED

This is a modern interpretation of a luxurious vehicle and combines high-quality components, hand-crafted stuff and impeccable sense of elegance. The exterior features dark machine-finished 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, stainless steel running boards with rubber grips, branded welcome lightning and satin chrome exterior trim. Of course, these well-known curves and lines are still present, all along with the massive and muscular stance. Sweet. In terms of interior, QX80 LIMITED is available with two-tone semi-ailine leather/alcantara-covered seats, leather-covered steering wheel, matte silver open-pore Ash wood trim and black Ultrasuede headliner and pillars. Cool.

2018 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED

2019 LIMITED edition is geared with a standard (and pretty massive) 400hp 5.6-liter V8 unit, mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. All this works in perfect harmony with the INFINITI all-mode 4wd and Hydraulic Body Motion systems and gives driver and passengers feel of comfort, safety and control. Also, all INFINITI QX80 machines are geared with extended list of technical stuff in order to improve the overall driving experience Such are the driver-assistance features that include Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Predictive Forward Collision Warning and many more.

In fact, INIFITI team has also included the Smart Rear View Mirror as part of the standard equipment. This gadget allows driver to use the rear-view mirror as a usual mirror or to turn it into a monitor with the aid of a single switch. By doing so, driver will be able to see behind the vehicle even when the rear window is blocked by cargo or passengers. Cool, isn’t it?

MANHART team presents the MH4 550: a thunder in red and white!

2018 MANHART BMW MH550 MANHART Performance has finally made a step forward. As you might remember, the tuning team has already revealed an impressive MH4 550, based on the BMW M4 F82 and now the time is right to showcase its latest project: MH4 550. Taking technology and refinement even further, we do witnes a rather incredible machine.

We will get straightforward to the drivetrain system. To be honest, the power unit is not that different from the predecessor model: a 3.0-liter S55 Biturbo with additional 119hp and comprehensive software remapping. This means that the MH4 produces the massive 550hp and 82Nm of torue. Sweet, right?

2018 MANHART BMW MH550

Furthermore, MH4 benefits from new and exclusive exhaust system with catless downpipe, new MANHART muffler and a KW variant 3 coilover suspension. This system allows the vehicle to be lowered as possible and at the same time ensures stability and confidence even in the most challenging turns and track curves.

In terms of exterior styling, MANHART has also scored points. The white body is elegantly enhanced by familiar bright red stripes and red M-Performance wheels. Also, both front spoiler and rear diffuser are made of glossy carbon and resemble the new carbon-fiber mirror caps. Furthermore, MANHART has included a massive carbon-fiber rear spoiler and super-cool read side blades. Neat!

Of course, in MANHART manner, the interior won’t let anyone down either. The red roll cage is placed where the rear seats once were and resemble the exterior color scheme. Of course, there is no clue form the original front seats – they are replaced by Recaro bucket seats and wrapped in red leather. There is also a special M-Performance alcantara steering wheel with shift indicators and carbon covers. Sweet, isn’t it?

Infiniti presents limited models at the New York Show pt.1

INIFINITI team is about to unveil two exclusive models: 2019 INFINITI QX60 LIMITED and 2019 INFINITI QX80 LIMITED. These sweethearts will be showcased at the New York International Auto Show and would showcase how INFINITI team has managed to maintain its positions as one of the leading manufacturers in the segment. So, in this first part of the review we will see what the 2019 QX60 LIMITED has to offer, shall we?

Luxurious and versatile

The QX60 is one of the best-selling SUVs and there is a fine reason for that: team’s dedication of constant improvement and unmistakable sense of quality and pleasure. And just as its predecessors, the 2019 Q60 features tons of features that would attract both fans and sceptics.

The vehicle comes with new revised dark chrome front grille, refreshed fog lamp finishers and door moldings. What would also catch the eye of the New York International Auto Show audience are the added dark premium-paint roof rails and cross bars, along with “LIMITED” emblems and notable 20-inch dark aluminum-alloy wheels, mounted with 235/55R-20 all-season tires.

The interior will try to please driver and passengers with luxurious features as leather-wrapped grab handles, dark silver wood accents, black headliner and pillars, Stone-colored semi-aniline leather seats with special quilting, stitching and piping for all the three rolls. The cabin is voluminous and features numerous utility goodies that would please even the most demanding passengers – QX60 LIMITED offers ample legroom and easy access even for the third row and even with a child safety seat installed.

In terms of drivetrain system, INFINITI QX60 LIMITED comes with a suite of safety and security features that include Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, Backup Collision Intervention, Distance Control Assist, Active Trace Control, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection. By far what we know about the power engine is that it is a massive 3.5-liter V6 unit that produces a total of 295hp and 270lb-ft of torque.

Volkswagen team put 2019 Touareg to the ultimate challenge!

2019 Volkswagen Touareg This is not a thing that you would see every day. A vehicle that has travelled tens of thousands miles in order to attend to its own world premiere? Piece of cake. Or, at least it is, for Volkswagen team. What has happened is that the latest Touareg was put to an ordeal – it has travelled from Bratislava to Beijing and as it seems has done it in such a way that astonished even sceptics. So, let’s find out more, shall we?

For a total of three weeks the vehicle, along with the team has risen up to the challenge “Bratislava2Beijing” and has travelled through eleven countries – the starting point was the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava, where the Touareg machines have been manufactured for 16 years and has finished in Beijing by travelling through Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China.

Zietlow and his fellow team has driven throughout Europe and some parts of Asia and has put the Touareg to the ultimate test – it has travelled thousands of miles in temperatures that range from minus 23 to plus 21 degrees Celsius and has tackled down numerous road and off-road challenges. The journey to the world premiere in Beijing has took the team through the snow-covered Urals, past frozen Lake Baikal, Kazakhstan, the steppes of Mongolia and last, but not least, to the Inner Mongolia to the Middle Kingdom. The vehicle and the driving team are expected to arrive in Lisbon in about three days from today.

Kahn Design showcases Defender Final Edition: it is as sexy as it sounds!

2018 Kahn Design Land Rover Defender End Edition Chelsea Truck Company has unveiled of what should be the king of the road. The prestigious tuning brand pays homage to the Land Rover Defender by showcasing the Defender 2.2 TDCI XS 0 Station Wagon The End Edition.

The revised machine features striking exterior design with Lava Orange finish, revised front and rear wings, new integrated vents, bolt apertures and a brand new X-Lander front grille. The massiveness is further enhanced by big wheel arches, new front bumper sump guard and mesh hood vents. This aggressive design is further enhanced by large 9×20-inch Mondial wheels in Volcanic Black, wrapped by 275x55x20″ tires and colorful brake calipers.

In terms of interior the “End Edition” features new GTB front and rear folding seats in quilted and perforated leather, central glove box, passenger dashboard, grab handles, door panel inserts, instrument binnacle and more.
