  • Zenos E10 S – 250HP and 400Nm

Zenos Cars has unveiled the more powerful E10 S model. The line-up is going to be expanded with the E11 Roadster in 2016 which will be followed by the E12 Coupe in 2018. The motor company is founded by the former Caterham leader – Ansar Ali.

    Zenos E10 S is powered by a mid-mounted 2.0 liter turbo-charged four-cylinder EcoBoost – 250HP (186 kW) at 7,000RPM and 400Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque at just 2,500RPM. This is an increase of 50HP and 190Nm compared to the standard naturally-aspirated E10 version.

0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 217 km/h (135 mph). The E10 S comes with a carbon aluminum monocoque meaning that the curb weight is kept to just 700 kg (1,543 lbs). The acceleration is improved by 0.5 seconds compared to the naturally-aspirated model.

Some of the highlights of E10 S include – 16” front and 17” rear OZ alloy wheels fitted with Avon super-sport tires. The brake system includes 285 mm front and rear discs. There is also a double wishbone independent front/rear suspension with Bilstein dampers. Last, but not least are the removable front and rear wings as well as a roll-over cage and side-impact protection system.

2015 Zenos E10 S is priced from £29,995, which is £5,000 more than the normal E10 model. The track variant is additional £3,000 and includes – an LSD (limited slip differential), 6-speed gearbox, composite seats, quick-release steering wheel, new wheels, four-point harness, adjustable dampers and some other extras.

  • Zenos E10 Launch Edition Arriving In USA

Zenos-E10-Launch-Edition-THUMBZenos Cars has just announced that it is coming to America with its range of lightweight high performance sports cars. The first model to be introduced to the U.S. market is the Zenos E10 Launch Edition, which will be arriving in dealerships next year.

The first public appearance of the E10 was at UK’s prestigious Autosport International Show in January. It achieved great success due to the praise of its innovative E-platform chassis architecture, contemporary design, and performance.

In particular, the E10 is a road legal car which however is track focused. The two seater sports car has Lotus Elise type proportions, and it is equipped with 200 hp (147 kW) mid-mounted transverse naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Ford GDI engine, which drives the rear wheels.

The vehicle weighs only 1430 pounds, thus achieving a power to weight ratio of 300hp/ton. This low weight has been accomplished via the use of a single ‘backbone’ aluminium extrusion with a carbon composite monocoque. This basically means that this architecture delivers optimal torsional rigidity.

Furthermore, the front suspension connects directly to the spine/backbone, while the engine is positioned in the removable rear extruded sub-frame. In terms of safety, there is fully encased steel safety cell comprising twin roll-hoops and side-impact bars.

Inside, E10 focuses entirely in the driver. A visual display is positioned directly behind the steering wheel, while in the middle of the dash, there is another larger screen that includes a choice of road or track data display.

Zenos E10 Launch Edition is equipped as a standard with a Limited Slip Differential, In-board Bilstein dampers, 4-point racing harness, bespoke Zenos composite seats, quick release steering wheel, and is finished in Launch Edition Red paint. The price of the car starts at $43,750 USD.

  • Zenos E10 To Follow In The Footsteps Of Caterham

Zenos-E10-shadowZenos-E10-medium-2The rather specific family of road legal, open-top, step-in, two-seater sports cars is set to grow further with one new member. On January the 9th, the Autosport International in Birmingham kicks off – “Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade show”. Visitors will have the chance to witness the revelation of the Zenos E10 – a super lightweight Ariel Atom kind of car

The Zenos Cars company is the brainchild of former Caterham Cars CEO Ansar Ali and former COO Mark Edwards. They have also been noted on their work at Lotus. Main point: should be very, very good around the corners.

As for the bits inbetween the bends, The Zenos E10 has a mid-mounted 2.0-liter engine that’s been borrowed from Ford. It develops 200 hp which should be plenty enough considering that the whole thing weighs just about 650 kg. That’s 300 hp per tonne. The acceleration from 0 to 60 is under 5 seconds.

It’s cleverly made too. A single, aluminium extrusion ‘backbone’ spans the length of the E10, delivering impressive torsional rigidity, accompanied by an aluminium rear sub frame and a safety cell incorporating twin roll hoops and side-impact protection. The driver and passenger are nestled neatly in an integrated carbon composite monocoque made out of recycled carbon fiber materials.

Production should start at the end of 2014 and the first deliveries are expected during the opening quarter of 2015. There are also plans for Roadster and GT Coupé versions of the E10 (promptly called E11 and E12 respectively).

    Hope they pull it through.
