  • Atlas has risen! Further details are expected in 2018

2018 Volkswagen AtlasRecently unveiled, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas will try to mark a new chapter in the story of the brand. Indeed, this is the same old generic story and we have heard it thousands of times: a new model, new beginning and new features. However, we are interested in what this bad boy has to offer. So, let’s waste no more time and check it out!

Just like many of brand’s contemporary vehicles, the new Atlas comes with the award-winning Modular Transverse Matrix architecture. It is also a bit larger than the predecessors. However, it retains some already known details: standard LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and the optional LED taillights. Nice.

In terms of interior styling, new Atlas benefits from the enlarged proportions and offers ample cabin space. The third row can be reached by innovative folding seat solutions and the setup allows additional child seat installation. As it comes to the driver, he will be placed in a comfortable seat with driver-oriented controls and technologies. The cabin features VW Car-Net system, smartphone integration, MirrorLink and premium 12-speaker audio system. Sweet.

2018 will also meet the new vehicle with new drivetrain systems. Atlas comes with a choice of two engines: a 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injected TSI four-cylinder machine with 238hp and a larger and more powerful 3.6-liter VR6 with 280hp. Both units can be paired to an eight-speed gearbox. Sweet.

The vehicle will be built at the Volkswagen Chattanooga assembly plant and it is expected to be one of the most environmentally-friendly built machines.

  • Volkswagen and MOMO Proudly Demonstrate 2016 MOMO Edition Jetta GLI

Volkswagen of America brings out MOMO Edition Jetta GLI to this year’s Chicago Auto Show. As you might remember, this beast was first showed at the 2015 SEMA Show and since then rules over the streets of America. Based on the 2016 Jetta GLI, this MOMO edition proudly demonstrates its performance-oriented capabilities.

The GLI 19×8.50-in MOMO revenge wheels depict that mesh design that catches the eye with the split-10 spoke feature and Pireli P Zero high-performance tires. But not the tires are the most interesting thing about this vehicle. The powerful 210hp (154kW) 2.0-liter four cylinder unit is what catches the eye. it is mated to a stainless-steel  cat-black exhaust from Milltek Sport and delivers enhanced breathability and distinguished sporty sound. Also, Brembo provided 14.4-in diameter dross-drilled two-piece front rotors and monoblock four-piston calipers. And by using large 12.2-inch rear rotors and calipers from Golf R, the brakes not only ensure safety and fast responsiveness, but also have a striking yellow-accented finish.

The sport-oriented cabin benefits from the MIB 2 infotainment system and the VW Car-Net App-Connect system. There are also special cues to create strong connection to the driver. The yellow color scheme dominates the interior and perfectly matches the trim detail of the limited-edition MOMO GT50 Anniversario steering wheel.
