2020 Yaris would try to blend everything that would make a modern hath appealing. It is efficient, affordable, sexy and features tons of goodies. In fact, the vehicle come with the latest technologies and user-friendly gadgets that further enhance the pleasure of driving.

Exterior design

Bold and distinct, vehicle’s character is defined by tons of changes, compared to predecessor models. For example, the front end reveals a gutsy attitude with its hexagon lower front grille and sharp-eyed headlamps. Furthermore, the XLE grade comes with automatic LED headlamps and incorporated daytime running lights. There’s also a massive choice of body finishes: Stealth, Graphite, Pulse, Sapphire, Chromium, Frost and Icicle.

Also, 2020 Yaris Hatchback comes with 16-inch aluminum alloys, body-color side mirrors and door handles and a chrome tailpipe. Buyers will also benefit from standard features that are usually offered as premium – Smart Key Entry with Push Button Start, fog lights, variable intermittent windshield wipers, rear backup camera, tilt and telescoping steering wheels, chrome interior door handles and driver and front passengers sun visors.

Interior goodies

Buyers will benefit from a standard 7-inch Touchscreen display audio system, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto services all along with Bluetooth wireless technology and a large 7-inch touchscreen display screen. Additionally, there’s standard SiriusXM Satellite Radio, which comes with a three-month All Access trial subscription.

And there’s a neat surprise: both LE and XLE grade levels are equipped with navigation hardware. The buyer should only use an SD card in order to activate the navigation service. Sweet!

Safety features

2020 Yaris Hatch comes with numerous safety technologies, part of the standard equipment. There’s this Low-speed Pre-collision Safety System in both model grades. It scans the road ahead for potential vehicle collisions and if a potential threat is detected, an audio and visual signals alert and the autonomous braking system engages, if necessary.

Also, Yaris Hatch comes standard with an advanced active safety system that includes Dynamic Stability Control, Transition Control System, Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Brake Override System.

Drivetrain system

New Yaris family member is geared with an agile 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 106hp. Its high-compression and direct fuel injection ensure quick responsiveness and smooth acceleration. Things get better with the standard 6-speed automatic gearbox. What is special about this one, is the fact that transmission’s torque converter locks in all gears for fast and more direct shifts and enhanced fuel efficiency. There’s also a dedicated Sport Mode, which changes vehicle’s behavior with a single press of a button. Neat!

And here we are again: Toyota showcases one more generation of Yaris vehicles. And one more time we will be talking about how the well-known brand has just revealed the best so-far vehicle in the whole lineup. So, are you ready? Here we go!

In Toyota’s own words, as you might have expected, this is the one and only Yaris that is worth your time and money. In fact, we must admit that this small hatch is quite sexy and agile. We do like the exterior design and the overall concept idea. However, we are not sure whether this is a vehicle of extreme importance for the segment or Toyota itself.

Exterior styling

As any other Toyota machine, this one is an eye candy. It is both muscular and aggressive, but still contains this elegance, that made the Yaris lineup so popular. We still get this giant front grille and a set of expressive headlights, all along with neatly placed front-end details. For example, the sweet linear chrome thing that sits next to the fog lights. It looks rather cool.

The sides on the other hand are the ones that we have used to. They are clean and shiny and contain just a touch of artistic curve. And this simplicity appears to be just enough to enhance the stance of the 2017 Yaris.

And as it comes to the rear, it looks rather dynamic and resembling the front-end design. With numerous details. We see simple, yet nicely-looing backlights, some stylish curves here and there and of course a whole design concept that contributes to the muscular appearance.

Interior styling

The cabin looks clean, tight and functional. Boring in other words. Actually, we did expect something rather catchy and appealing as we saw with the body styling, but alas, we encountered a gray and faceless place. It is even disappointing. However, we do hope that the functionality and utility features are all aboard.

In fact, there are some additions that look rather sweet. 2017 Yaris lineup features cruise control, updated display audio system, multifunctional steering wheel, electric power steering and a 12-volt accessory socket. Sweet.

In terms of safety, every 2017 Yaris machine comes with seven airbags, rearview camera, vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-skid braking automatic brake assist and more.

Drivetrain system

Here we are at the heart of the sweet-looking beast. The Japanese-built Yaris comes with 1.3-liter four-cylinder power unit and there is one more for the SX and ZR versions: a slightly bigger 1.5-liter engine. All of these power unit systems are Euro5-compliant. Sweet.

The new 2014 Toyota Yaris is now available to order with pricing starting from £10,995 for the entry level Active 3-door 1.0 VVT-I 5-speed manual model and goes up to £17,695 for the Excel 5-door 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid with CVT gearbox. The line-up offers more choice, more equipment options and a wealth of advanced features for on-board comfort, communications, safety and style.

There are four trim levels including Active and Icon as well as Sport and Excel. The Hybrid drivetrain can be specified in Icon and Excel versions. Each grade has its own character, differentiated by details such as the interior trim and materials and treatment of various interior and exterior elements, including the lower grille, wheels, seats, centre console and instrument panel.

The high equipment levels come with a leather steering wheel, air conditioning and the latest Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system fitted as standard from Icon grade. Climate control air conditioning is standard for all Hybrid models and for Yaris Excel.

Ten exterior colours are available, including new Island Blue metallic and, exclusively for Hybrid models, Avantgarde Bronze.

Among the options list, you will find Toyota’s Skyview panoramic roof, LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and rear lamps, rear privacy glass and the Toyota touch 2 with Go multimedia system with navigation. Sport models can further be specified with vibrant Piri Piri red interior trim, including door panels, front seat upholstery inserts and soft-touch instrument panel.

2014 Toyota Yaris and Yaris Hybrid have been upgraded for the new model year and include features that customers value most. First of all the new Yaris will have four trim levels: Active, Icon, Icon Plus and Trend. The Active and Icon replace the previous T2 and TR grades, while Icon Plus and Trend gain additional equipment.

To be more precise, the Icon Plus now will sport Selena 10-spoke, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED rear light clusters and front fog lights. Those who will chose the Glacier Pearl paint finish will also get a bright chrome tailgate trim.

Other equipment in terms of safety and comfortability features the following: automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, power windows front and rear, automatic climate control and higher-set centre console design.

Of course, in addition to the standard features Toyota will offer its customers a wide variety of available equipment. Option packs have been added for the Icon Plus and Trend models. First, a Smart Pack makes features keyless entry and push-button start, while the Appearance Pack adds a matt black C-pillar decal, and dark-tinted rear privacy glass and a fixed panoramic roof.

The third pack is called Protection Pack which provides front and rear parking sensors, floor mats, mud flaps, black side mouldings and boot liner and a rear bumper protection plate. On the other hand, the Style Pack includes LED daytime running lights, aluminium scuff plates and chrome trim on the tailgate and exhaust pipe.

The second model, 2014 Yaris Hybrid adopts a new grade structure. Here again the Active and Icon Plus grades replace the previous T3 and T4, while the Trend takes on the role of flagship in place of the T Spirit.

The standard features here include C-pillar decal to create the floating roof look, rear spoiler, 16-inch Trend alloys and part-leather seat upholstery, auto headlights and wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, power windows all-round and keyless entry with push-button start.
