  • 2014 Toyota Corolla Teased

2014-Toyota-Corolla-Teaser-THUMBToyota has just released the first teaser image of the forthcoming and strongly anticipated 2014 Corolla in their official Facebook page. The brand has also disclosed that the new model will be officially launched on 6th of June.

What is rumored already around the 2014 model is that it is going to look like the Toyota Corolla Furia Concept which debuted in the beginning of this year at the 2013 NAIAS. The current photograph that has been released shows part of the rear of the new Corolla S. It is obvious that the shape of the taillights is similar to those of the Furia.

In addition, over the internet it is rumored that the 2014 model will be equipped with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine probably mated to a four-speed automatic transmission as a standard. However, there will be probably an optional six-speed manual transmission. It is expected that the fuel economy will be enhanced as well as the CO2 emissions reduced.

According to the previous year model, we are also expecting to see four trim levels: Base, LE, S and ECO. All in all, we are definitely more eager to see what the new 2014 Toyota Corolla will look like, as well as to read about its specifications and everything new included. Only one thing left – to wait until 6th of June to see what the Japanese brand has prepared for us this year.

  • 2013 NAIAS: Toyota Corolla Furia Concept Makes Official World Debut

Toyota-Corolla-Furia-Concept-THUMAnother first world appearance at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit made the Toyota Corolla Furia Concept. The compact sedan concept has the styling cues of the next-generation Corolla and to be more precise it builds on the brand’s product development priority to deliver more dramatic, expressively designed vehicles.

As a matter of fact the new Toyota concept is created around a theme of “Iconic Dynamism”. The latter stands for the utilization of pure and simple surface elements and has the aim to make a confident, decisive and recognizable appearance.

In addition, the Furia Concept is a provocative and dynamic interpretation of a compact sedan which displays a more stable, athletic stance given that it is equipped with 19-inch allow wheels pushed to the vehicle’s corners with short overhangs. This of course only emphasizes the long wheelbase of the car.

Some of the highlights in the design of the Corolla Furia design include a swept windshield, with a sloped roofline and pronounced fender flares. The front fascia is aggressively styled with a blacked-out grille treatment and sculpted front LED headlamps.

At the rear one can see the rear composite LED taillight assemblies which add a sense of advanced technology. More importantly, carbon fiber accents can be seen literally everywhere: from the wheel wells, through the rocker panels, to the rear valance. The latter features includes ornate metal exhaust outlet surrounds to add a sense of modern athleticism.

    Toyota Corolla Furia Concept Dimensions:

    • Overall Length: 4620 mm/ 181.9 inches
    • Overall Width: 1805 mm / 71 inches
    • Overall Height: 1425 mm / 56.1 inches
    • Wheelbase: 2700 mm/ 106.3 inches
